The Beiderbecke Connection is novel and television drama written by Alan Plater. It was broadcast by Yorkshire TV in 1988. It is the third and final part of The Beiderbecke Trilogy featuring schoolteachers Trevor Chaplin and Jill Swinburne.
Now with a baby in tow, Jill and Trevor are asked by Big Al to look after a refugee called "Ivan".
This book was given tome by Peter Gowen of Pontypridd Wales. The author is British and the book takes place in England, mostly in Leeds, and is full of British dry humor. It was very enjoyable. I can relate to the character of Jill Swinburne:) A very fun jaunt into England!
Alan Plater month in this household: 4 novels and a jaunt to Scarborough to see (and really enjoy) the Blond Bombshells 0f 1943. A very happy month indeed. Maybe even eclipsing Priestley month and Barstow month...with more northern writers in the pipeline.
