Promise Him Anything borders on a trashy romance novel, but its a little more tasteful than most. I enjoyed this book because the writer, Carla Cassidy, steers clear of the sexual nature of a romance and more on the important things (well important to me) such as trust and friendship which build into a relationship. The 2 main characters in this novel meet in a extreme circumstance and it goes from there. When I read this book I was about 21 and at that time I could relate. That is one of the most important aspects of a novel for me, if I can relate to it.
The main problem in the novel, that is a little relatable, is that in spite of these extreme situations these people continue to fall in love. To me that is a little crazy. If I was fearing for my life (which one of the characters often is) I would not be worrying about falling in love with my knight in shinning armor.
