Promise Him Anything borders on a trashy romance novel, but its a little more tasteful than most. I enjoyed this book because the writer, Carla Cassidy, steers clear of the sexual nature of a romance and more on the important things (well important to me) such as trust and friendship which build into a relationship. The 2 main characters in this novel meet in a extreme circumstance and it goes from there. When I read this book I was about 21 and at that time I could relate. That is one of the most important aspects of a novel for me, if I can relate to it.
The main problem in the novel, that is a little relatable, is that in spite of these extreme situations these people continue to fall in love. To me that is a little crazy. If I was fearing for my life (which one of the characters often is) I would not be worrying about falling in love with my knight in shinning armor.

This was a very good book just not supper good. I enjoyed reading it and the things that went down were great. I do love her books and all authors have one or two books that just is not supper great and this was one of them. But it was not all bad I did enjoy this book but not as much as some of her out her books, I will keep reading her books and buying them.
This was the first big paperback I read from this author. I loved her little romances and other authors I had tried did not make the transition well, so I was leery of it. However, it was wonderful from beginning to end. The suspense was incredible, it had just the right amount of romance, but not so much that it was a romance in disguise. And the bad guy was scary. I loved it!
The suspense and writing puts you in the scary world of abusive relationship. Could have done without the epilogue, but then liked how David did get it in the end. The best woman suspense writer I have ever read. Always up for a Cassidy thriller.
REALLY good book. A lot of interesting plot twists. I love the story line, a little romance and a lot of suspense. Not a good book for children or preteens. The characters grow and develop making you want to keep reading. A real page turner for sure!
