Early readers are introduced to a foundation of daily mindfulness practices in the My Mindful Day series. Empathy explores the importance of listening and building friendships. This engaging early approach to mindfulness helps readers develop word recognition and reading skills. Each book in this series includes a table of contents, glossary, index, and an author biography.
More than our own feelings matter. The world is filled with people. We need to be mindful of them.
Empathy is a very important yet overlooked emotion/skill I believe. A book about teaching empathy to young kids is a great idea but unfortunately this isn't catchy enough for kids to read and learn from because it doesn't rhyme. It feels too heavy somehow but I liked the photos.

Empathy is something our world could use more of. These gentle, simple books do a good job at explaining concepts and emotions in kid-friendly words. This book gives examples of empathetic feelings and behaviors that are relatable to kids' everyday lives.
All good stuff, and an excellent conversation starter for both the home and classroom. As with the COMPASSION book, I just wish the authors would have included a word about empathy being applicable to our interactions with animals, too. Animals are a big part of most children's lives, and teaching kindness toward them is an important developmental benchmark. As the famous quote goes, “Teaching a child not to step on a caterpillar is as valuable to the child as it is to the caterpillar.”
Interestingly enough, very similar to her "Being Present" book... I personally would buy that one and forgo this one. All of Marsico's Mindful books mention yoga and meditation... Not sure that's needed. But I think her topics are unique and her language is simple--easily understood by little kids.
After working with kids of all ages, I started to realize that it’s hard to explain big feelings. This book is an excellent starting point. I love the mantra of being mindful.
It was simple concepts and kind of a vague passover rather than a true explanation with good examples of empathy and habits. It doesn't really go into great details for me for mindfulness. It was a good habitual read but nothing worth reading.
It’s ok as a Children’s book; seems more like a very young text book more than anything else. But due to that, I could see using this book with adults in conflict.
