When a story attempts to be more than it can deliver, the result is often underwhelming—and this is a prime example. Before diving deeper, here’s a brief overview: A recent high school graduate takes up a "babysitting" job at an eerie, secluded orphanage in hopes of earning some quick cash. But upon arrival, he discovers a chilling truth—there are no adults in sight. As he spends more time there, it becomes clear that the children are far from innocent and are guarding some deeply unsettling secrets. One thing becomes certain: no one who enters is meant to leave alive.

This manga leans heavily on shock value, using kids in disturbing, gory scenarios as its main hook. It even dips into uncomfortable territory with hints of pedophilia and incest—not to serve the story, but seemingly just to provoke a reaction. Honestly, it all felt a bit over-the-top and forced. The characters lacked depth and came across as unrealistic, which made it hard to connect or care. As someone who actually enjoys well-done gore, this didn’t hit the mark—it didn’t disturb me or impress me. It just felt... mediocre.

That said, I’m still curious enough to check out the final volume—if only to finally get some answers.

A young high school graduate volunteers for the position of babysitter at a mysterious orphanage to make some easy money. Once he arrives there and discovers that there are no adults, he begins to realize that the children of this place may be hiding quite a few disturbing secrets. No one is allowed to leave alive.

This little horror manga is far from perfect, but it genuinely managed to scare me and disturb me at points which is exactly what I was hoping for. There's also a surprising level of depth and tragic backstory to each of the main characters which made me feel some strong emotions. The only area where it truly suffers is the fact that the series was prematurely axed by the publishers which means the author had to wrap up the story far faster than they wanted, causing a lot of the looser narrative plot points to feel rushed.

With what little room they had to work with, the author did their damn best to deliver a brutal and satisfying ending that gave some shocking answers to the dark mysteries set up from the first chapter. I wish they could've had more time to fully flesh the series out how they wanted.

This just wasn't for me.
Objectively my rating should be higher due to this story not really having any "problems" - but for me this was a hard read for me to get through.
I read this due to a recommendation of a friend but I hesitated because it didn't really sound like my type of story- and it wasn't.

Before reading this manga you should be aware that it contains heavy gore, violence, and dark themes- especially since it involves kids. It does not hold it's punches and it starts off right off the bat.

The entire time reading I was just incredibly nauseous.

A man takes a job at a "childcare" facility to help with the children on his mom's recommendation- to save up for college- but is surprised when it ends up being much darker than he'd imagine. These kids murder people and dispose of their bodies- but are still seemingly normal kids outside of this.
The gore and violence of the children really upset me- and just their general abuse- so this was a REALLY difficult read. There's also a weird relationship/fanservice with the caretaker who is 14- so I'm really not okay with that :(

Despite my rating I did read the next volume because I needed to know what happened- otherwise it would just keep me up at night. :(

you know? for all the blood, killing and incestuous pedo stuff, i'm actually impressed they didn't go for the cannibalism route.

Sincèrement ça me fait même beaucoup rire!

If the Manson family was a bunch of children, led by their eldest mother hen.. Felt good to begin with but a bit of it felt laughable at times.. I tried to take it seriously but the flow between the conversations/ violence felt rather forced. Still a fun read!

I'm so disappointed!! Admittedly, I went into this manga blind. All I knew was : it had it good art style, there were creepy kids, and they're murderers.

The kids were my favorite thing about this manga. They were cute and so fun to read. Aside from that and the gore, there isn't much else though. It's weird that our 18 y/o MC blushes around the 14 y/o caretaker, and the ending / plot twist wasn't all that.

If you're easing into horror manga, this is a good start. The gore isn't too extreme and it's a easy, quick read. Check trigger warnings first!!!

TW :

Graphic: Child death, Domestic abuse, Adult/minor relationship, Blood, Injury/injury detail, Physical abuse, Rape, Sexual violence, Gaslighting, Death, Abandonment, Sexual assault, Suicide, Pedophilia, Gun violence, Child abuse, Gore, Mental illness, Murder, Violence, and Confinement

Moderate: Adult/minor relationship

idk if I could in good faith actually recommend this to anyone but if you genuinely like horror, blood, gore, violence, and about most other content warnings you could think of then you might like this! I applaud for two volumes of manga to get me to feel so emotionally about a large cast of characters, though it might be cheating since they're all children.

I've honestly read worse guro in my days. This one just has a lot of the unfortunate pitfalls of the genre. Picking on children for the shock value cause kids are easy to become attached to so it's a real "gut punch" when they die violently. Idk maybe it if was my first guro manga back in middle school I'd be a lot more wowed :/
