Redeeming Love #8

Every Sin We Erase

Rate this book
It all started when I stole his wallet...

Before I tell you my story, there’s something you should know. My life—it wasn’t supposed to turn out this way. At eighteen, I had dreams: go to college, become a nurse, create a better life for my family.

But then I was taken by the cartel.

Now, years later, I’ve been forced to become the one thing I swore never to be. Barely hanging on, hope is something I no longer possess.

Not until James.

The moment our bodies collide, I know I’m in trouble. Focused on escaping the Hell in which I live, love isn’t on my agenda. But when our eyes lock, and my demons recognize his, my shattered heart starts to beat once more.

In him, I find strength.
In me, he finds peace.
Lost souls entwined, we become one another’s salvation.
But then a cruel twist of fate changes everything.

Warning: Contains triggers.

If you had told me way back at the very beginning of this series that Pop would be my favorite male lead out of this series, I would have laughed in your face. But now, knowing exactly what kind of demons that poor man had gone through, my heart completely and utterly shattered for him. Is what he did to Hendrix excusable? Of course not. But after witnessing the absolute vile and horrid abuse Pop had done to him by an unfathomable evil, you could see why he did what he did. How he never meant for his self hatred of himself turn into the physical and emotional scars Hendrix bares from him. I can't even think of another way to put it; his story just broke me.

But of course Jaimee had to destroy me even more with Carmen. If you've read all the other books in the series, then you've seen glimpses of Carmen, how beautiful and broken and strong and a fucking warrior she is. She's all that and more in her own book, but reading exactly what happened to her? My soul is crushed. Demolished. I felt like I was physically watching this poor girl suffer endlessly the entire time she's been forced into the world she's in, but I couldn't do anything to help her or the girls she loves. That's not to say she doesn't have her triumphs, because she definitely does, but goddamn this book hurt.

As for the romance, this is a suuupppeeeerr slow burn physically (which you will understand why right away on both sides, and why it was needed) but emotionally, James and Carmen have such a beautiful, electrifying connection. It's like their souls just recognize one another, and knows that they are it for each other. These two are vulnerable with each other in almost every single way, and even though they most certainly have an unconventional relationship, it's no less beautiful.

Another thing I loved was how the events of this book takes place shortly after Hendrix's. I love having knowledge about how certain things played out already, but I still yearn to see if unfold through James and Carmen's eyes. I'm wondering how everything will come into play, how the secrets that are still hidden will effect him and Carmen, and exactly when she will be reunited with him, but I know our lovely author is going to take us on another incredible journey!!

And be warned: If you don't follow Jaimee on any social media, you might not know that this is part one of Carmen and James's duet. It ends on one hell of a cliffhanger and I NEED part two now!!

I wouldn't classify this as a dark romance per say, but there are definitely some dark triggers. If you are easily effected, I advise that you just be careful as you read. I'm not one to usually have triggers, but there were plenty of times I just had to put this book down. While all what happens is handled accurately and heartbreakingly (pretty sure i just made up a new word!) It's still handled with all the care in the world. Please , please go read this series!! You will see why this is one of my absolute FAVORITE authors ever.

**I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions!**

***Trigger warnings: murder, sex trafficking/rape/child rape/pedophilia, drug and alcohol addiction, abuse, violent scenes.

Wow oh Wow!!!!!!!!! This was a very emotional and powerful book and not for the faint of heart. James (Pop) and Carmen's story was heart wrenching. If it doesn't touch you, you must have no soul. In this story, we find out how James became who he was and how he is working so hard to change. Carmen's life was just as rough. It's amazing that thru all the ugliness this beautiful love bloomed. This is only the beginning of their story, we have to wait a bit for the continuation, but thankfully not too long. I cannot wait. My one hope, is that Carmen will be reunited with her "hermenito." I highly recommend this book ,this series and this author. Her writing really sucks you in and doesn't let go.

I received an ARC copy and this is my voluntary review.

Warning: you will need a box of tissues nearby while you read this masterfully written story. This book will wrench your heartstrings, strip them down and tie them up in knots. James (Pop) and Carmen’s story is not an easy one to read. Both have pasts filled with unspeakable pain and abuse. A horrible, abuse filled childhood and his wife’s desertion led James to use alcohol to dull his pain and memories. In his alcoholic rages, he abused his son both physically and emotionally. It took years, but James finally turned his life around, giving up the booze and gambling and struggling for redemption. Carmen, a former beauty queen, was kidnapped along with her brother on her eighteenth birthday and sold into prostitution. The last sixteen years of her life have been filled with unending abuse, coercion and pain. Fate had a hand in James and Carmen’s meeting. From the moment he saw her, his heart knew that she would be someone special in his life, even if she stole his wallet during their first meeting. What follows is a slow torturous courtship where promises are given and dreams are discussed. But Carmen’s planned escape from her life doesn’t go as planned, leading to devastation for both her and James. This book ends with a cliffhanger that will leave you gasping and clamouring for answers to be found in the next book.

As with all the books in the Redeeming Love series, the characters are vivid, fascinating and inspiring. You can’t help but admire this couple’s determination, their strength of will and their overwhelming struggle to survive against horrendous odds. The expert writing pulls you into their story, exposing their secrets and pain, evoking your empathy, tears and laughter. Finally we come to know Pop’s (James’) history and and can revel in his redemption. Thank goodness for nutty Grandmama (or Crazy Old Biddy as many who love her have named her) who brings moments of hilarity and shock. I really can’t wait to read the next book to find out how James and Carmen’s story unfolds.

I received an ARC of this book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

This book is bitter sweet for me as we come close to the end of a truly remarkable series. I cherish each and every book and this one is burrowed into my heart as well. This first part of Pop and Carmen’s story touched my heart in so many ways and it pulled me through how they met, how their lives were before each other and how meeting your soulmate can change your whole world, saving you from the ugly that’s buried deep inside. J.E. captured every emotion and pulled them from me in such a amazing fashion, gifting new with a story that’s so special, making me the lucky one having got to read it. I’m honored to take the journey through this story, I love it to the moon and back and I will never forget it. Sometimes we read so many stories, they come and they go, but this one, as well as, all the stories in this series will stay with me forever. As I write this, tears form in my eyes thinking of Pop and Carmen because they are so broken and now as we get to part two, I seek to see them mend individually and together as one. I can’t wait to read the next part, but with it will come the end. Although, so many wonderful people have come into my life as these stories play out, I have faith we will see them all again. I know this story will always remain in my heart. Thank you for allowing me to embark in this story and series with you J.E. Parker. I can not tell you enough what fabulous writer I think you are and it is what you were always meant to do. I know I have said that before, but I can’t say it enough! When it’s true, it’s true. Keep being wonderful, keep writing, and keep being you!❤️

This book is so bitter sweet for me. I have loved every book in this series, every tear, laugh, heartache, and wonder feelings this series has brought me. When we first met Pop, James Cole, I despised his character. He was a broken man that abused his son. As the stories continued we learned some of the reasons behind the broken man and he turned his life around and became a great dad and granddad. Now we meet Carmen and she is beyond broken but when Pop and Carmen met they have a history and this is their story. No spoilers....

This is part 1 of 2 for the final book in The Redeeming Love Series and WOW! Get a box of tissues handy and maybe a glass of your favorite beverage and get ready for this author to rip your heart out and tell you the story of Pop and Carmen. It is emotional, heartbreaking with twists and turns and tears. I am anxiously awaiting part 2.

I received an early copy to read and review with my honest opinion. This is a must read. I highly recommend you read the entire series if you haven't. You will have all the feels from laughing to crying to everything in between.

James’ devastating past has led to some destructive choices that he regrets, and he is finally at a point in his life where he has changed his behavior and is healing from his past. Carmen has endured a fate that no one should have to and is only a shell of the woman she used to be who keeps her emotions under lock and key or she wouldn’t be able to survive.

They come together under the most unlikely of circumstances, but they are drawn to each other in a way that neither expected. They are both damaged by their pasts but in each other they find hope for a future however escaping the past will be much more difficult and painful than either could imagine.

This story takes you on a emotional journey as your heart breaks for these two captivating characters and escalates into a cliffhanger that leaves you wondering what the future holds for this couple.

This series has been a work of art in each story to make beautiful series. We meet Pops in the first Book of the series and I never thought that there would be a way for me to like him. Yet JE makes him more than redeemable; even lovable. The other damaged soul in the story is Carmen.
These two damaged souls that have been broken by life make each other whole.
I got to know them from the beginning and to where they are now. This is the first half of their story and I am bittersweet to read the conclusion as I never want this series to ever end.
I am volunteering and highly recommend this book and series.

Emotional Roller Coaster Central. ♥️

I’ve been curious about James’s story and I’m so glad we get to read it. It’s a beautiful way to wrap up the story in a neat little bow. I’m hoping beyond hope that they (James & Carmen) get their happy ending.

Beautiful. Heartbreaking. Gut Wrenching. Art!

THE REVIEW FOR THE BOOK EVERY SIN WE ERASE BY J.E.PARKER.

GENRECONTEMPORARY ROMANCE.
AUTHORJ.E.PARKER.
TYPE:BOOK #8 OF THE REDEEMING SERIES. A DUET... WITH CLIFFHANGER...
POV:FIRST PERSON...DUAL POV.
MY RATINGS: 5 HOLLY MOLLY !!! WHAT DID I JUST READ STARS...

************
*******

WARNING: YOU WILL NEED A BOX FULL OF TISSUE AND WINE NEARBY BEFORE DIVING IN THIS STORY...

CARMEN was only 18 when she was stripped of all her dreams of the future. The Cartel does not forgive anyone...They kidnapped and she had to go through to so much that no 18 years old deserved...Now, after 12 years,
JAMES was a former alcoholic and abuser...But he is trying to redeemed his mistakes and life... All the things are going great in his life when he met Carmen by chance. They experience a spark and soon get into a relationship. But he knows the torment of her past and the danger looming over her in the present.... Can he be able to save her from the wrong side of the town??? Will they lose the only good thing happening to them ever?

“No matter what happens, I will always find my way back to you.”

J.E.PARKER has always been my go-to author for romance novels... But I never thought the bad man in the first book of the series will ever- I mean ever- become the favourite book male character for me.

I am not saying the thing JAMES/POP did was by no means right, but after hearing his side of the story and the abused and things he suffered from the hands of the one who are supposed to protect them was just despairing...EVEN though all his mistakes..he is still trying to make them right and that just is powerful and brave for me.

CARMEN was the brave steadfast and bold character who despite all the bad never loses hope... She is still trying to find a way out of all the mess she had to stumble upon when she was eighteen...

“I’ve been forced to share my body with those offering my pimp cash in the past, but I have never, not once, willingly fucked a man for dinero.” Her chin jutted forward. “I steal, cabrón, I don’t kneel.”

I love the chemistry between the characters. The way JAMES helped her in becoming independent and became the light in the pitch-black life of hers... is just swoon-worthy.
Although the book ends with a cliffhanger... I have never been so emotional at the edge and satisfied simultaneously...
WAITING FOR BOOK 2 EVERY WOUND WE MEND......(NOT SO PATIENTLY.!!)

Plot 5✨
Spice 1🌶️

The scars, grief, shame, and pain James lives with on a daily basis are of his own doing. His demons from his past made him drown himself at the bottom of the bottle, which lead to him being his son's demon. Getting sober seven years ago was the first step in making everything right again. He is going to make everything better for his growing family, he will never put them in harm's way again.

Once a Columbian beauty queen, Carmen is now a shell of her former past. She fought hard when they came for her the night of her eighteenth birthday, but it wasn't hard enough. Watching her mother take her last breath and her brother being taken as well, she swore she would never break. Years later under the rule of a different monster, Carmen is determined to not only keep her girls safe but to save them from the man forcing them to do despicable things.

Stealing money for food is easy for Carmen, but too bad for her the man's wallet she stole belongs to James, the man who has made it his mission to save her.

What demons plague James?
Can Carmen help herself long enough to get her girls out of there?
Will both Carmen and James be able to save everyone, or will they once again fail to protect the ones they love?

This is a duet so be ready to spend the whole day reading, just like I did. If you have read this series from book one you know most of Pop's/James story but reading about his past done me in. I have cried at every book in this series but this one I cried the most during. My favorite has changed with each book but now that I am done James is by far my favorite male mc in this series. There is no more words or ways I can say I LOVE THIS SERIES!!!!

Every Sin We Erase (Redeeming Love #8) by J.E. Parker was a great 5 star read.
This is the story of a little girl who had all these dreams planned for herself. Until they came for her….my heart broke for her, especially in this scene (ugly cry moment). We jump ahead a few years, she has been forced into a life that she was always trying to avoid. She is broken and is to the point of giving up.

We meet James as well, he is a recovering alcoholic with some huge regrets that he is trying to mend now with his family. When he meets Carmen there is something about her that calls to him. Can he help Carmen? Or will she be stuck in this nightmare the rest of her life?

Overall I really enjoyed this book, we end on a heck of a cliffhanger so be prepared. I was on the edge of my seat the whole read and couldn’t put it down. The author does a great job of pulling you in with her writing. I will warn that there are some scenes that could cause triggers for some. If you're looking for a thrilling read then this is the series for you. 1-click and get started today.

I cried my damn eyes out reading his book. I'm crying writing those two simple sentences (I'm literally crying).
Right now I'm not in the right headspace to write a good review but know that this book is filled with heartbreak, hope and unconditional love.

It will make you cry, it will make you smile and at times it will make you laugh. It will make you want to punch every single misogynistic and sadistic bastard in this book.
It will take a piece of your heart away, one which you'll never get back because what we just read..
It's happening to thousands if not millions of women all around the world.
Women who are viewed as nothing but whores and made fun of for selling their bodies for money by people that don't know a single shit about the real world.
It truly disgusts me how many times I hear people my age throwing the words whore and prostitute around, using it as an insult when they clearly do not know a flying fuck about what a woman tha is considered a 'whore' goes through.
No woman is willingly selling her body, she might not fight or scream for help, but that does not mean she wants it.

I hope Carmen and every single woman out there unfortunate enough to have found herself in such a situation gets out of it and gets her happily ever after.

As for those predators of males causing this--im not a religious person--I hope they rot in whatever hell that comes after this one.

*** Received an ARC for my honest review***

OH MY GOODNESS!!!
My heart is in peaces with this book. James is my new favorite person. He was my least favorite because of what he did to Hendrix. I thought that he was a monster, but now after this book I changed my mind. Yes .... what he did was wrong on so many levels but when you read this book you will understand in a way what caused him to do what he did. He is working very hard to make up to Hendrix and his family for what he did and you can feel it when you read this book just how truly sorry he is for all the bad he has done.

This book bring out a lot of emotions from both main characters. Carmen had to endure so much from when she was 18 up until now and it is still continuing. She lost so much and she does things just to save others not worrying about herself.

This first installment is about the main characters where they have to forgive themselves and overcome all the demons they face before they can continue their relationship to the next level.

But I'm not so sure what will happen, because the huge cliffy left me wondering..............

Once again I have been flabbergasted by Jaimee's writing skills and you can feel that she took her time when writing this plot. The way how all these books in this series just flow in with each other is absolutely amazing.

WELL DONE J.E. PARKER!!!

I have been waiting for Pop's story to be told since I got my hands on this series a week ago, and I wasn't disappointed with it at all. I knew his story was going to be a painful one, but boy wasn't that an understatement! My heart broke over and over again for him and her beautiful Pixie.
Carmen was a hard spot for me as a Spanish speaking reader. Her story was extremely painful and she kept me rooted to my chair as her relationship with Pop evolved. But no matter how much her story touched me, I can't look past the many mistakes the author made while attempting to include the many Spanish phrases she uses in this book.
Some of those mistakes may be constructed as typos but other are just evidence that the author does not know the language properly. Admittedly, I love when English speaking authors include an element of my culture in their books, but I find myself disappointed that it is not done properly. Unfortunately for a Spanish speaker like myself, literal translation just ruins the author's best intentions. Any author that wants to attempt this needs to have a born-speaking, Spanish reader, editor, beta, friend acquaintance at hand to check and re-check their attempts of writing in Spanish. I just hope that this author can correct this things in the future.
Hopefully, she will when the last book in this story comes out, because I would love to give it a 5-star review.

*I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review*

Wow, wow, WOW! This book had my emotions all over the place, but in a good way! Like the other books in this series, it was an amazing read! I am truly blessed to be a part of her ARC team, these books/characters always give me a nice escape!

Reading about a Hispanic character definitely put a smile on my face as a lot of her mannerisms and attitude is similar to mine! HAA!

Pop had a rough childhood that he has never talked about, not even to his own son. We have been waiting for Pop's story for quite some time after seeing him evolve since book 1. Seeing his relationship with Hendrix improve and grow made my heart melt!

Carmen's story was also one I anticipated as after we met her in previous books, I was curious as to what her background was. Growing up in Columbia, Carmen endured a lot of pain in a time when there was nothing but violence and mercy of the Drug cartels we running rampant.

As this is the first installment of Pop & Carmen, I cannot wait for the rest of their story to see how they each continue to grow and I hope to see more of the other characters as they always provide a good augh with their antics!

"I'm falling in love with you James Cole, and there's no stopping it now."

Lord, this is another heart-wrenchingly beautiful story from this author. It's a wonder my heart has survived this series, I swear.

First, we have Carmen. A Colombian beauty queen, she is ripped from her family and into the hands of the local drug lord, where her life is utterly destroyed. Given as a "gift" to one of his henchman, she is now forced into a life of drugs and selling the one thing she promised she would never surrender - her body. She's incredibly broken, but at the same time incredibly strong. One day she'll find a way out and she'll rescue Jade and Ashley too. Then she meets James "Pop" Cole, and its hard to tell who will end up rescuing who. She can finally see a future with no more pain, but will she live to see it?

Then we have James Cole. If you've read this series, you know what kind of man he was and you probably didn't like him very much. Well, get ready, because James is going to wiggle his way into your heart and stay there. He's broken, just like Carmen. He's fought so hard to leave the man he was in the past and become the man and father he wants to be, but he just can't shake the guilt. When he literally runs into Carmen, he sees the darkness in her just like the darkness he carries inside himself and he can't just let her walk away. He'll rescue her from the monster that has her if it's the last thing he ever does. But, time is running out.

I will tell you that I NEVER cry when reading a book. I'm just not that way. However, this author, to date, is the only one that makes me do just that. She puts her characters through so much, and I swear, her readers feel all the pain too. But, while each character goes through the wringer, they always come out stronger on the other side and with a happily ever after. Now, this book is part 1 of James and Carmen's story so don't expect that HEA. At least not yet.

If you haven't read this series, please do. They do have triggers of addiction, abuse, trafficking, and others so if you are sensitive to those, enter with caution. But, if you do read the series, you'll wonder what took you so long.

James Cole (pop) has always had a hard cruel heartbreaking life. and he in turn has caused such pain.

James has been trying to redeem himself to the ones he loves by becoming and staying strong to become a better man.

After a chance meeting with a little pixie of a woman a thief who stole his wallet then returned it on his bonnet intact minus the cash.
Cole feels drawn to this woman captivated by her beauty buried underneath her rough appearance.

Theirs is a heartbreaking tragedy of such depraved heartbreaking emotional abuse.

Carmen a former young beauty queen who was kidnapped and sold to a depraved man known as El Diablo (the devil) and has become a forced druggie to be kept controllable, and a prostitute to earn her pimp money. The life she knew was never to be hers again. Finding and doing everything she can to protect two young girls who by have become her surrogate daughters.

This is an absolute must read. The characters are wonderfully written. I enjoyed reading more of the background characters interactions. I can't wait to read more. Be warned you will be captivated and flustered when this ends with a cliffhanger. And yet you won't care. You will be hanging on to your heart until you can read more of Carmen and Pop's story continues.

What a heart-wrenching story that kept you on the seat of your pants the entire time. Carmen was so brave a strong, and we loved how she took all those in similar situations under her wing and protected them the best she could in such a god awful situation. She created a family for herself in a place that was nothing but, hell.

Carmen and James romantic involvement just upped the danger level 10 times over but, it is what made their love affair more endearing and heart felt, and it was something that was for once done on Carmen's terms and her affection and feelings and her body were freely given not forced or sold. The stories of these characters were heart-breaking, but, although the situations were completely different, they gravitated and found common ground and were drawn to one another for a purpose but, we also believe it was fates way of healing these tortured souls and bringing some semblance of peace to each other's heart.

Overall, this was one emotional story that tugged at ones heart-strings the entire story. The author made us fall in love with these tortured souls way to easily, and had us wishing that every single one of those who took part in what happen to Carmen and others like her would burn in hell.

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "EVERY SIN WE ERASE" This is one phenominal series so extremely well written by the very talented writer J.E. Parker you will be on the edge of the seat its definitely a page turner grab the tissues you'll need them.
Carmen life didn't turn out how she'd hope she wanted to go to College and become a nurse make a better life for her family but that didn't happen she'd been taken by Cartel and all her hopes were shattered.
Pop was a very abusive father to Hendrix his son when he was younger trying to change things he apologized to him and wanted to make amends and rebuild a life with him and his soon to be daughter-in-law.
James has his wallet stolen by Carmen she knows she's in trouble but when their eyes meet he see's the pain and torment their with him she finds strength he finds peace there intertwined souls become a safe haven.
This is defintely a must have book will James and Carmen get their HEA hard to say as fate steps in causing utter chaos you won't know what happens until the next book this is a duet I so can't wait to read the conclusion to this phenominal story.

So many Emotions 😂😍😮😠😭

I've just finished my 2nd read of this phenomenal series, basically this is the one where it all began, I can't begin to tell you how much I hated James 'Pop' Cole when I first started reading Hendrix story, but by the end of this book oh my!! How he handled things in his past was wrong but he is trying to right his wrongs and with the help I another broken soul he's trying to erase his sins!!
Carmen Santiago has known nothing but pain and suffering since her beloved family was cruelly taken from her in many different heart breaking ways, a former Miss Columbia she was taken, abused, turned into a junkie for someone else sick pleasure and financial gain!! Apart from her Chicas and another fellow captive, she hadn't known compassion since she was 18 and especially that of a man until the night she robbed the one man hell bent on finding her and saving her!!
Would they be each other Salvation?? These 2 broken souls need each other more than anything but the timing isn't right just yet!! Circumstances and Life pulled apart but Date brings them back together again!!

James book 1

I have read the books to this series in order. I feel like this book can be read without reading the others first but you will need to read the final book in the series after you read this one.

James is around since the first book where he is a major part of the story. This book brings back his son Hendrix and daughter in law Maddie. Hendrix is a large part of this book. Of course, grandmama (the old bitty) has to show up a couple times. We also see a little bit of Tuk.

This book mostly takes part around the last part of Hendrix and Maddie's story but what was going on with James. He talks about what he went through as a child and the remorse he feels for how he treated Hendrix when he was a child.

I gave this book 4 stars vs 5 stars that I gave the rest of the books. This book had a lot of parts from the first book as well as parts of Ashley's book just from James or Carmen's point of view. This story felt like it was a lot slower and missed the spice that were in the previous books. I am sure this will pick up in the next book based on the ending of Ashley's book.

Every Sin We Erase is book eight in the Redeeming Love series and while they for the most part can be read as a standalone, this book and the next book cannot be read as a standalone book. This book is a long awaited one and the story of Pop (James) and Carmen. As we know if you have read this series each character has a lot of Redemption to do; however, while they both do it ties it all together with all characters.
Pop you wanted to hate in prior books, but then he turned himself around. His story tells why he was the way he was and you will fall in love with how he is now. Carmen her story is a touchy subject and your heart will break for her; however, you will see she did what she did best at the time and how to help keep her alive as well as others. We all have sins, but this book teaches us that we can Erase the sins (maybe not the memory) and that there is forgiveness when the timing is right. I highly recommend this series, but it does touch on sensitive subjects and is eye opening to us.

Ive been waiting to read pops story for so long now and this book didnt dissapoint.. eventhough its not finnished yet im so glad i only have to wait till july for part 2.

As with all JE parkers books this one is an emotional rollercoasters which lots of ups and downs.. have them tissues to hand.

We get a lot of insight into pops backgroind and what made him who he is.. this book is definatly a redemtion story for him and to see the way his and hendrixs relationship blossoms on this book is heartwarming.

Carmen is a great match for pops and what a fighter she is, het story although terrible and brutal is one of stength..

We dont get as much from the other characters in this story which is normally something i have loved throigh this series but the plot of this one needs all the attention it gets.. plus i did get my grandmama fill in!

I enjoyed every second of this book even as it destroyed me

Loved this book, it had me hooked from the start.

Oh my word. This story has been long in the making and a much awaited read for me. J.E. Parker has out did herself again and I can’t wait to read part 2. When you start reading this book, make sure you have snacks and drinks handy bc you aren’t gonna want to put it down. Also make sure you have a huge box of tissue and possibly a punching bag near by. This read will have you on a huge emotional roller coaster. It has love, laughs, forgiveness, betrayal, anger. Pop wasn’t one of my favorite characters but after reading a part of his story, I can see why he is the way he is although that doesn’t excuse his actions. Pop is trying to atone for all the wrong he has done, and he is on a great path to doing so. Carmen was dealt a horrible life but she always takes care of those she loves, and when she loves it’s with every broken piece of her heart. Such an amazing read and it was absolutely worth the wait!!!!

I knew this book would be amazing, and I anticipated tears because damn what J.E Parker book doesn’t pull at your heartstrings but DAMN. I knew this one would hurt oh I knew it, but she completely wrecked me. This series only keeps getting better and better, and although this is book 8 in the series, J.E did not hold back. Oh no, she completely wrecked me and left me anticipating the second part of this book. Her characters have a way of becoming so real you can’t help but suffer and rejoice right along with them through the book. Be ready for part 2 and bring along those tissues because I doubt she is done breaking up apart while slowly outing us back together. I can’t wair for more Pop and Carmen and the gang in book 2. Thank you, J.E parker, for writing such amazing stories and a big round of applause for creating such strong and brave characters. I do not like to spoil books, but I would not think twice about acquiring this book.

I am still reeling from Pop and Carmen's epic, heartbreaking beginnings. Life has stomped on them, hard and still they rise. This isn't an easy story to read, full of abuse, neglect, addiction and redemption and we aren't finished yet. The conclusion will be coming soon and I know all this pain will be worth it in the end. James aka Pop wasn't a likable character to start out this series. He was an addict and a violent abuser to his son. But he changed, he sought redemption but didn't expect forgiveness and that made him redeemable to me. He knows the horrible things he did and doesn't make excuses. I love him so much! Carmen has had a bad hand since the beginning but she doesn't give up. A lot of people would give up and I don't consider her addiction to be giving up. She is just doing what she needs to do to survive. She wants to end the pain so badly but isn't willing to leave her two girls all alone and unprotected. Just a beautiful story but have tissues, lots of tissues on hand.

My heart! Holy crapoly J.E. Parker!!!!! How am I supposed to carry on with my life now?! It's safe to say no one is ready for James and Carmen's story. You may think you've seen the best from J.E. already, but after reading Every Sin We Erase I'm telling you, you aint seen nothing yet! The beginning of their story will rip your heart to shreds as much as it has you loving them.
These two each have such dark pasts and so many demons they're battling to overcome every single day it's kind of a given that their story will be emotional. but it goes beyond just being that. It's a hard hitting story of more than just two people who are destined for each other. It's a story of hope, strength, family, and heartbreak that will grab you from the very first page and have you glued to every page until the very end where you will be left a sobbing mess dying for more.
I cannot wait to get my hands on what I know will be the epic conclusion to this story!
