It began on an English hospital ward. Then it reached a holiday camp. Now it's on Europe's biggest party island.
When she arrives on the island of Mallaca for a week of hedonistic fun, Judy Carter is in no mood to party. She knows something's wrong deep inside her body, even if she's trying to hide the truth from her friends. Soon she realizes that the danger is growing, and that it's about to burst out at any moment.
Meanwhile, high up on a hill, in a luxury villa overlooking the town, preparations are being made. Andreas Velucci claims to be a visionary, and he insists that the time is right for the arrival of the Pure One. He hires an English girl, Ruth, to be his assistant. But what does he really want with Ruth, and what dark secrets is he hiding about her past?
For ten years, governments around the world have struggled to contain a threat that they don't fully understand. A threat that keeps trying to break through and destroy humanity. A threat that can grow inside each and every one of us.
Amy Cross writes novels and short stories in a number of genres, mainly horror, paranormal and fantasy. Books include The Farm, Annie's Room, The Island, Eli's Town and Asylum.
Another fabulous addition to the Ward Z series! I thought this would be the last book in the series, but it looks like there is a fourth one in the works - can’t wait!!
This 3rd installment of the Ward Z series follows Judy and her sister Merrie as they and their friends travel to Mallaca for a short vacation together. Judy hasn’t been feeling very well (a sharp pain in her stomach), and we all know what that means - did we really think these creatures were totally destroyed at Camp Everbee? Of course not! Meanwhile, Ruth (who already lives in the town) travels up to the villa on the hill to work as a personal assistant for Mr Velucci, who is preparing for the coming of the Pure One and the developing new world.
Amy Cross writing is a mix of horror, intrigue and gore, while also touching on thought provoking themes, such as the treatment of living beings and the sometimes monster-like tendencies of the human race. Her characters each have very distinct personalities and voices: some serious, some a little kooky, some brash and volatile. And she really has a way with series writing and continuations! After reading the Bait Series, Ted Armatage Series, the Wax series, and now this Ward Z series, Amy Cross has quickly become one of my favorite authors. I can’t wait for the 4th installment of Ward Z!
