Well, I thought I'd start the week with a little smut. That has in any case released some good endorphins. I like to poke around kinks to try out and sounding seems to go down well with me.
I think this book was perfect, it's very clinical at first glance and maybe a bit cold. But you quickly learn how important the safety factor is and it's still very hot.

Really enjoyable.
Even though I spent half of my time reading this shouting at the characters to just talk about their relationship already, the other half was spent absolutely sweating over the exceptionally hot sex. It was nice to see considered safety measures, too.
I've had a few wins with LJ Greene now and definitely plan to go find some more. When I have more free time, I'm going to sit down and tear through Rough Love under her main writing pen.

The sounding was top notch. The two MC’s approached it in a very start small, be safe, use precautions sort of way - they did research, used gloves, disinfected things. If you’ve unsure of sounding as a kink and want to see a good way to do it, this is a good read. Very safe sane consensual. The scenes were also pretty hot despite having all the PPE trappings (hear that, authors? Condoms aren’t unsexy! Lube is good!). I loved how Kris fell apart under Jack’s hands, and how Jack was keeping adorable “experiment notes” (there’s a fun and sweet plot twist around these later in the story).
For a novella / erotica short, this was great. I wanted a bit more backstory, a bit more feelings, for it to be a 5*. But this was a solid 4* read and I enjoyed. Would recommend.

Excellent erotica short (novella? I never know how to categorize things that are between 50-100 pages). And I thought the author did a good job using the kink to explore relationship issues, especially with how short this is, though knowing there was some tension/discomfort in the relationship gave the kink scenes an undercurrent of discomfort too, which I’m not sure was intended.

Fantastic erotic romance, I was expecting only erotica but it was lovely and sweet and had more depth to their relationship in 62 pages than a lot of full-length novels. So much so, I'm gutted I can't find the author's Docked available anywhere.
