MAX Tomboy James Duncan is a decorated war hero with a reputation. No one in San Antonio would touch her with a ten foot pole until Ox Winn hired her. Where is Cheryl’s story?! The only negative comment about Caballo Security series. I enjoy a book with a storyline that grabs you at the beginning & has you w/white knuckles holding on to the end.
Oliver This is an exciting book, and sad at the same time. I guess the biggest disappointment is how money can make some people do horrible things. I really liked Valerie’s character. She is a doctor, is always willing to help others, and loves her family. Valerie has an older stepbrother Scott that she loves as a blood brother. When he asks for her help, she is always there.
Oliver is a good guy that got into some trouble and sent to prison for two years. He is not the same person when he gets out. Valerie thinks he is a bad guy even though she is attracted to him. Someone is out to hurt her and she isn’t sure who is the bad guy and who isn’t. I encourage you to read the book.
Akker Eva is a movie star revisiting her hometown of San Antonio for a photo shoot. Someone is sending her threatening messages, but her manager and security don’t think there is anything to worry about. Eva hires Caballo Security to protect her. She thinks she sees her boyfriend from eight years ago, but it turns out to be Akker, her boyfriends twin brother. Akker and his twin Brody has some bad times when they were younger, but are on good terms now. I think Akker paid more for his problems than he ever should have. He is a good guy that I liked a lot. Eva has feelings for him too. Akker is attracted to Eva, but doesn’t want to be. Plus he is there to protect her. There are scary things happening like bombs going off and being shot at. It was an exciting book that I encourage you to read.
Brock Brock is Akker’s twin whose right side of his face, hands and back were burnt in a fire eight greats ago. He wears a mask on the right side and his hair longer hiding his face. I felt bad that he didn’t feel like he could ever have love because of the way he looks now. He doesn’t realize that he is still a handsome man with a great body. I was glad to see that Luna didn’t find him repulsive. She kept telling him they both had scars, his was on the outside and hers on the inside. Someone is out to get Luna and Brock is assigned as her security. I love the two together and how they grew closer. This is another good book that I encourage you to read.
Prescott Prescott is from England and is one of the operatives that works at the agency. Almost two years ago he asked Skylar to marry him so he was deported back to England. But no one in the agency know they are married. I hated that Skylar doesn’t think she is attractive and no one like Prescott could ever love her. She may dress a little quirky, but she is a warm, loving, beautiful person. At first I didn’t like Prescott, but I saw changes in him as I got into the book. Skyler and Prescott go to Washington state to see Skylar’s great grandmother as Skylar is afraid something is wrong with her. There are crazy things going on in the small town where her great grandmother lives. There are secrets, mean people, manipulation, jealousy, and so many other things happening. And another side of Prescott I really liked. I encourage you to read the book.
Max James was raised by a cop and has always been a tomboy. She has a masculinity name, has never worn a dress, served in the military right beside the men, and even wears her hair short like a man. But if you really look at her, she is a beautiful, curvy woman. James and Max are put on a case together. Man is she out of her comfort zone as she has to dress sexy to try to find the people behind the human trafficking of young men and women. I think that sometimes her and Max sounded like an old married couple. Max is very good looking and is a big flirt. They both have trust issues and have baggage. I enjoyed watching them get to know each other better. There are some on the edge scenes that had me worried. This is another good book in this series you should read.
Oxley This last book was so good. Poor Ox has been keeping secrets he found out about his father, when his father ran the business. Kinsley was a police woman he has been working with for over a year. They have a thing for each other, but when she has to arrest him, their relationship gets closer. Ox is such a good man who tries to protect his younger brother and all the people who work at the agency. I was so glad to see Kinsley help Ox even though she knew she could get into big trouble. I hated to see the bad cops and some of the extremes they went to. It was an exciting story with some very sad things happening. I loved how the people working at the agency were like a family and did everything to help Ox even though he didn’t want help. I strongly encourage you to read this book.
This was an amazing series which was action packed and filled with romance as the Winn brothers clear their company's name with the help of the women that fall in love with them. Each and every story is fantastic as the company employees become a family and take down the dirty cops with the help of officer Kinsley who protects Ox from being killed by them. She !are sure that Oliver Winn's name was cleared after making their mother confess to her actions that sent him to serve two years in prison. She also killed their father which she was going to prison for life for. They all worked together, the Caballo company becoming a family to clear their company's name and took down all the dirty police. I highly recommend this box series and wish there were stories about this a amazing company.
Caballo Security: Complete 6-Part Series (Caballo Security #1-6) by Camilla Blake is hot and sizzling that is filled with crooked cops and lots of drama and danger, suspense and angst, humor and love. Each member of the Caballo team has their own book. The characters are fun and loyal and you easily fall in love with them. Even though they all have their own stories there is the underlying story of what is happening to their boss that they don’t know about.
Book 1 - Oliver Valerie finds herself in a nightmare and held captive, she doesn’t know who is friend or foe. Those she thought loved her soon show their true colours but out of something horrible she finds something wonderful.
Book 2 - Akker Akker is assigned as bodyguard to keep a stalker at bay but the one he is to protect is the one person he can not let himself fall for. Eva can not understand why she is now face to face with the man who left her so long ago but he doesn’t seem to know her. She soon finds out that there are two and not one.
Book 3 - Brock Fashion week in Paris turns out to be more than she bargained for and she needs help but the help she is faced with turns out to be so much more. Brock has his work cut out for him, first he has to accept himself and second he has to work out who is after her. He does however find the one thing he never thought he would have after his accident.
Book 4 - Prescott Skylar is the one person the company can not do without and will do anything for any one including the one person who asked her to do something that would keep him in the company. Prescott has done nothing but take her for granted but the one time she asks for something is the one time he finally sees her as something more.
Book 5 - Max James Duncan is a war hero with a bit of a reputation as being hard headed and not following the rules and the only person who would give her a job is Oxley Winn. Now she finds herself teamed up with the one person who she dislikes with a passion but it may be the one case that shows there is more to the man. Max Lucas has to work with keeping the one person who rubs him the wrong way. Keeping her safe may be harder than he thought when looking after her stubbornness. What he does learn is there is more to the woman who meets the eye.
Book 6 - Oxley Oxley Winn the man who has maneuvered his company to a place that will keep them all there when he is no longer. It’s only a matter of time before those who have strong motives to have him gone come looking. Ox keeps everything close to his chest to keep the others safe but when Detective Kinsley Salazar steps in she does something he doesn’t want her to regret for the rest of her life. When Kinsley finds out what is going on she does the one thing she never thought she would do, if they can’t find him they can’t hurt him. Kinsley decides that the only way to help is to bring the team together and let them decide if they want to help the one person that has always looked out for them and bring down the bad guys.
No plot spoilers No real potential triggers although there is reference to kidnap and threatened abuse. There are some errors that make you roll your eyes but nothing to get too irritated about and certainly not that many. There are some sex scenes, probably one for each story, so it's not gratuitous and neither are the plotlines a vehicle for sex. There are elements of romance in each story. There is quite a bit of swearing in at least one of the stories, which was noted mostly because the level of swearing was higher than other stories in the series. The characterisation is good, more than enough to allow the reader to form a connection, and I have to say Prescott was my most disliked character, he treated women appallingly. If you are a fan of the genre I have no problem recommending the series.
This was an amazing series which was action packed and hooked me all the way through. It had romances in each book focusing on different operatives, all the stories had sad background themes combined with the need to have protection details for different reasons. The Winn brothers own the security company interesting it from their father, an issue from when their father owned the company is shown throughout the boxset until thee final book brings it forefront and deals with it to clear their company's name. Each and every story is so good and engaging as the company employees become a family. Looking forward to the second boxset. There were a few errors but I’m overlooking them as I enjoyed the boxset so much.
It starts off with ex-con Oliver taking an assignment that leaves us in the dark about it being good or bad. We also get clues into Valerie being too nice to her stepbrother Scott and finding herself in a bind.
Interesting storyline with great characters and good flow. What threw me was the whole kidnapping and on the run thing, I don’t like that sub genre too much. As well as we “just knew” who was behind it, although the very end through us for a loop.
Book 2 Akker 3 Stars
Well right off, ending up with the twin of your ex is a turnoff but man did these two “work.”
The storyline was interesting with good flow and an award winning ex for the H. A complicated relationship between brothers and the stalker angle was done well. A jaw dropping reveal at the end was twofold.
Book 3 Brock 4 Stars
Fashion week in Paris!! Jewelry designer!! Off to a great start with tensions running high in her office and me thinking all her staff is out to get her.
Likable H/h, good plot with a nice pace and an ending that seems to be a favorite for the author with a total out of left field twist.
We are getting more insight into Caballo owner Oxley and what’s been hinted at for him and the future of the company.
Book 4 Prescott 4 Stars
We have no real read on this guy when we start his book and according to the synopsis his green card marriage to Ox’s assistant should be up soon. And I have to say at chapter three the guy is a total ass but Skylar is to blame for allowing a lot of his behavior.
The pace, H/h and the storyline were great and I had no clue who was guilty until it was revealed. Thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this book.
Book 5 James 0 Stars Not part of overall rating
I had problems associating James as the woman for quite a few chapters and Max, her partner for the case, came off as a high school bully in the first of the book.
Human trafficking as the premise is an interesting storyline but the constant bickering in the beginning had me unable to read this one.
Oxley Book 6 4 Stars
We finally get Ox’s story and he has been an integral part of the series so I was anxious for some insight.
The storyline was good with a fast resolution; liked both the H/h.
I may have enjoyed this series, but I will never know. Romance novels should be non-partisan unless you're writing about a president or something. This is not. To read, "Why did I care that the president—whom I didn’t vote for, by the way, nor would I have if I’d been allowed—tweeted something unintelligent and rude every five seconds?", turned me off immediately and I couldn't finish. Whether I agree or not is irrelevant - I want my romance novels to be get aways....
I enjoyed having the availability of reading this series in it's entirety. The Caballo Security shoes flawed characters with real issues. From teen pregnancy to alcoholism to PTSD and how these flawed individuals dealt with them. I also appreciated the diversity of the characters. How their personalities were developed and the the coming together of them to form families of the heart.
This was a good box set. I love all the twists to each story. The love scenes could have been better though. The doubt these hot men had was a little off. The women also had some rather odd thoughts also. The stories was good though. I will point out some words were left out in places and also an error about Ox saying his twin brother, he doesn't have a twin, a younger brother yes. Thank you.
This book had some really good storylines. They were easy to follow and characters were believable. I really enjoyed that the stories were more focused on the plot and not filled with so many sex scenes. There was still a love story that was kept appropriate for the storyline and didn’t take away from the action and suspense she.
This author has the best fleshed-out characters I have read in a long time. You feel like you actually know these people, There is some repetition so that different characters get to tell the plot from their point of view. Looking forward to reading more from this author
Camilla Blake is now one of my favorite authors. The collection features brothers from two families both with difficult upbringing in their young childhoods. Each story built upon the creation of the security company and the strong individuals who have overcome adversity to knit a stronger community and new family and friendships!
Took two days but I finished this copulation of 6 stories that made me laugh, cry, and cross my fingers that everyone would get their HEA, great job, great writing, great series. Thank you
The story keeps you like glue, captivating and looking for more, with successful business, woman's , romance dangerous work, lots of excitement and brilliant happy endings and solves all crimes. Highly Recommended
I really enjoyed this series! The reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was because sometimes the storyline ended abruptly. Although that did not detract from the characters. I'm really hoping there is another book that tells Cheryl's story!
I read all the way through. Stories are good. Heat range varied book to book, but stayed in the mid range. No major editing issues. I still want the geeks to get together. Just saying.
Altough at times there was alot of repeditive parts iin this series, I
Did enjoy reading them. The characters were a very intense group of people who all had plenty of their own problems with out actually taking one anyone else's.
I enjoyed reading each story the characters interaction was excellent.Especially Ox. Family's story that impacted all Cabell people and she'd light on why Camarillo security exits.
I only read the first two stories. They weren't very believable and after just reading the Rook securities series before this, it made me realize how bad this series was at protecting someone. I know it's the same author, but two totally different writing styles.
Each book in the series created intrigue, built suspense and made it easy to drift into the next book. Loved how the team pulled together with each new story.
I really enjoyed reading Caballo box set, all the books had a good story that kept me interested which can be hard in 6 books normally the second and third never live up to the first but these did and now I don't know what to read next.
Caballo Security 6-part series was awesome. Suspense, danger, hot men and sizzling romance. I loved reading the whole series at once but hate that I now have to catch up on my housework that I neglected because I couldn’t put the book down. A great read.
Really liked the characters and stories, but it left me wondering what happened to these people. You only get a glimpse into their situations and then it’s onto the next person and their issues. It kind of left me hanging with too many questions
A family owned business that takes their jobs seriously. Each man and women in this series would give their lives for their job and the Cavallo family. Each one finds love in the place where they didn't think they would or wanted.
Camilla really took us on a great journey with the Caballo security series. I'm dying to read Volume two. Can't get enough of these sexy bad boys and all there adventures.
This series is addicting and one of those you can't put down. I was up several nights late, late to see how much more I could read before bed...lol. Will be very interesting to get to the next book and see how they wrap this up. Great read! Enjoy.
I thoroughly enjoyed these books, enough intrigue along with getting to know the characters to keep me reading, the only thing is where is Cheryl’s story? I have downloaded volume two, I am hoping it is in there.
