The quest of the Seven Swords holds a dark secret at its heart.
To find a way to destroy the Swords, Ridmark has entered the Durance of Urd Maelwyn, a twisted dungeon built by a dark elven tyrant. There he must find the mad smith who forged the Swords.
But the ruler of the Durance does not let prisoners escape her iron grasp...
Standing over six feet tall, USA Today bestselling author Jonathan Moeller has the piercing blue eyes of a Conan of Cimmeria, the bronze-colored hair of a Visigothic warrior-king, and the stern visage of a captain of men, none of which are useful in his career as a computer repairman, alas.
He has written the DEMONSOULED series of sword-and-sorcery novels, and continues to write THE GHOSTS sequence about assassin and spy Caina Amalas, the COMPUTER BEGINNER'S GUIDE series of computer books, and numerous other works. His books have sold over one million copies worldwide.
Another excellent book with a returning ally maybe? This was very different style as Ridmark and his went into this vortex type are and ended up being split into 3 different groups of 3. Not to mention that they all had different style of enemies to fight through they also had to work their way to a central tower. And a very pitched ending where it didn't look good for Ridmark and his friends. Especially since Ridmark had been poisoned by a manticore a creature whose poison is very deadly. The only thing for which was keeping him alive was what little continual healing he was able to get from his sword. But they did find some answers to a lot of unanswered questions. And yet the still had another war to contend with as well as for the Sovereign.

Trapped inside an insane unreal world where no one or anything escapes or Dies. The rag tag Troup must find and release the world guardians from yet another torturous dungeon presided over by the Swordmaiden, disillusioned daughter of the Sovereign? Masked One? Both? Neither? I'm glad the Characters went back to use the spells that they haven't used in the last 4-5 books. Made me wonder if they forgot how to use the old elemental spells that were so effective in the older stories.
This book could be called Revelations, since one was dropped on us in the prologue, which was a pleasant surprise. The action picked up immediately from the previous book, which was a relief, given the cliffhanger it ended on. The plot twists kept me guessing, and the title reference in the story was brilliant. The climax was delicious, and exactly what I hoped. The resolution was a little short, and this book ended on another cliffhanger, stop that! I will have to read the next in the series very soon.
Every time I start reading a book about Ridmark and his followers, it takes me away from every day stresses and into a world where friendships and loyalty are respected and upheld. Twists in the plot keep it fresh, characters that you have gotten familiar hold your interest. Love that Mr. Moeller has the intuition to hold on to the best of the best and we can keep reading.
Another fantastic adventure involving Ridmark and Calliande this time fighting there through the Durance. While trying to find Irizidur and avoid the Swordmaiden who runs the Durance for her father the sovereign. Plenty of action and adventure would definitely recommend
Jonathan just keeps them coming, a great world, story and characters. It was very hard to put it down. Forget Game Of Thrones, Jonathan is the true Master Of Fantasy and great value for money.
Book 10 was a fun read and had errors throughout. The plot and characters continue to be fun and i enjoyed the book. The cliffhangers are not pleasant, but overall was still exciting.
A good read. More info to the series. Along with some laughs at the right time. Ready for the next book. A strong story to the series. Well put together.Thank you Jonathan.
Story being dragged unnecessarily, just to get to the next book. Fighting scenes are feeling like they are from same template just swapping characters and scenes.
I love the Seven Fold series. I am a huge Ridmark fan and can't believe it will take 12 books to accomplish this epic tale. I am about to start the final book. I have enjoyed this ride.
I think this book really delved into Calliande's psyche and many of the tragedies she has experienced that cause her greatest fears. The Swordmaiden was very adept at bringing those to the surface. The Swordmaiden herself was not immune to suggestions that her father would not honor the promise he had made to her.
It was unusual in that Ridmark was actually injured as he usually appears somewhat invulnerable.
Ack, this book sort of ended on a cliff hanger as our heroes are in the process of escaping from the Durance. I'm sure Calliande's spell will work but am curious if the Takai that had been trapped in the Durance for so long will survive when they arrive in the present time. Since they realistically would have died eons ago if not entrapped by magical means, wouldn't they turn to dust upon escaping? I will just have to wait and see.
I was so excited to see that Malison: Dragon Curse was available only to find that I already bought and read it a couple of months ago. Dang it. Now I have to wait for the next Sevenfold Sword.
