Death is not the end My name is Luther Cross, the handsome and stylish son of a demon father and a human mother. With my knowledge of the supernatural and my own mystic abilities, I make my living as Chicago’s foremost paranormal investigator.
But now, I’m dead. Killed by a demon while protecting a young woman and her supernatural child. If I move on to the afterlife, my enemies will be waiting. So I’m trapped between two worlds, unable to affect either.
There’s a sliver of hope, though. My allies are working overtime to find a way to resurrect me. My job is to discover the identity of the rogue angel who set this all into motion, while also avoiding other threats. Being a ghost has just given me a whole new set of problems.
If it all works out, I’ll be back to my usual attractive self and avert a second war between Heaven and Hell. But if it all goes south, then we’re all screwed.

Noooooo that cliff hanger was cruel now I have to wait for the next book , this will drive me insane. This series just gets better with every book everything is at fever pitch now , the brilliant twisty plot is finally unravelling , what will happen I wonder. I'm off to go sit and rock quietly in a corner waiting for the next brilliant instalment. Well worth waiting for.
Loved it. Hate that it's only one more book after this one, but oh I cannot wait. So many things are going on and I cannot wait to see how it all ends.
Another book I've eaten through where I'm thankful for my Kindle Unlimited subscription. The fact that this series (among others) has been available to read for free has left me with a riveting, boundless reading experience.
Yet another electrifying book starring Luther Cross. Throughout the whole series so far I have felt the continuous homage to the Supernatural TV show, an obvious inspiration for this series. Of course, it never went to a worrying degree of feeling it was stealing ideas or anything, but if you're a fan of Supernatural you can definitely see inspirational roots.
Something that I loved about this book was how much it felt like an awakening journey for Luther. Even if his life *did* end, he was able to suss out what kind of person he was, how he impacted people, and how those around him impacted him. I think and hope that given a second chance we'd see him appreciate those around him a wee bit more.
I sincerely hope that Luther gets a satisfying ending to his crusade, as his entire life it has been jammed down his throat that he has a destiny to fulfill. Of course, aforementioned folks talking about his destiny were near quite clear on what it entailed, just speculation based on who his demonic daddy was and his genetic make up. That said, I hope that Luther gets a suitable ending that will leave him with a closure of his own.
Instead of reviewing each book individually as I did with the first, I''ve reviewed the rest of the 5 books as a series: The novels of this series are written more as one, long, continuous story that was then broken into separate books at a cliffhanger-type break (think like TV episodes in a season of a series) rather than individual standalone novels that progressed a storyline. In my opinion, that caused the character exposition to suffer and made them more superficial, unfinished archetypes than they could've been, which is mildly disappointing because the writing is just so good, otherwise! Even historically "known" characters are given a unique spin, different mythical & mystical elements are woven together well, and action scenes are written believably with characters suffering real consequences rather than the author providing pat solutions. I'll get more books by Constantine in the future, with the hope that he'll eventually spend more time delving into characters through story rather than churning through episodes...this could be an author to watch if he hones his craft.
I find it hard to wait for the next book in the series. I am stuck between "I have to know what happens next" and "I never want this series to end."
I have to trust Mr. Constantine to do what he has done so well over the last five books. He will bring this arc gracefully to a close as only he can. I will follow where he leads.
The saga continues and humanity's future is at stake.
Angels and demons in battle... The hero is dead in the first page of the book and the second hero has lost her magic while the infant at the center of the conflict is up for grabs. Fast paced, fierce fun. Once you start reading, you won't want to stop until the end.
This was absolutely my favourite in the series. Exciting all the way through to the end....which i won't spoil but i am sitting firmly on the edge of my seat waiting for the next one. ! Waiting!
Another great hooky, hated to see it end. Luther is still the badass that he was in previous books, this time he’s ghost. And still trying to right the wrongs that he caused.
Another great Luthor Cross novel. Once I started the story, I couldn't stop reading until I finished. Wow...p look forward to the next book, but wish it wouldn't end.
