A lot of this book really resonated with me, but I think the icing on the cake is how kind the author is with her words and encouragement. By being vulnerable and sharing moments she's had in her life that she was able to turn around and come out better, it made me feel like I was gaining a new friend, someone willing to lift me up when I feel like the world is weighing me down.
I've been having a lot of difficulty just doing some things because I'm terrified of what people will think, things I've wanted to do my whole life. That being said, this book has given me the confidence and motivation to make a change in my worries and ways of thinking. After all, it doesn't matter what other people say, because...
"There will be many people who enter and exit your life at some point or another. The one person who will remain consistent in your life is you."
This is my journey, and letting someone else be the author of my life is a recipe for disaster.
Something really cool is a lot of these lessons remind me of things I've been learning in church and Bible studies. In order to grow, you must renew your mind and trust you can handle whatever God, or circumstance, puts in your path. If you believe you can overcome whatever it is, then you will overcome it. If you don't, and you let anxiety and fear overrun you, you won't. The mind is a powerful tool, and imagination is a terrible master.
I highly recommend this book for anyone wanting to grow and have a say-so in their own life again. I very much enjoyed and learned from this, and I can't see what lives are changed because of it.

The concept of having a “Contract With Yourself” is a genius idea as having a contract with yourself basically implies having an agreement with yourself in which you are fully dedicated and committed to holding yourself accountable to your goals.
This book is very organized. It’s broken into seven extremely detailed chapters. The first chapter is about Commitment and it’s broken into two parts. Part 1 focuses on the principles to help you stay committed to general aspects of your life and Part 2 of the chapter, focuses on the principles that help you commit to your financial independence. The second chapter is titled Observe and its aim is to highlight the importance of being aware of your thoughts and emotions. It emphasizes self-reflection, self-acceptance, and self-belief. Chapter Three explores how you can avoid getting stuck in your comfort level. Chapter Four focuses on taking action to achieve your goals and we do this by understanding how our brain works and controlling our emotions.
