Most of the book centers around Leslie dealing with the attack from Chase.
Kane is trying to give her space.
David feels responsible for it because he was with her right before it happened at the bar. We get a little back story on him and Molli and how the three of them met in college. The girls are his family and he's devastated over what happened. Leslie doesn't blame anyone other than Chase for what happened.
Kane giving her space basically equates to no touching/sex/intimacy at all...and Leslie is going nuts.
She wants him to meet her parents and on the drive there she breaks down and tells Kane that she was getting turned on by the forcefulness/violence that happened and she thinks she's broken, and they talk about it--Kane doesn't get turned on by forcing, but he agrees to be more aggressive with her and she loves it.
We meet a new tattoo artist, Riggs (?) that seems to take to Leslie but is shy, so she tries to befriend him to help him out of his shell.
We also meet Evan--a 17yr old kid that's been hanging around the shop. Leslie catches him and talks to him...he asks about Kane and maybe getting a tattoo...another big storm is coming and the shelter needs extra help so Leslie offers Evan a part time jog helping. She feels like he's very familiar but cannot place him.
The three go to dinner and the boys sit next to each other and she comments that they could be related. Kane goes nuts and they leave, and he starts peppering Evan with questions. Turns out the are brothers and Kane feels so horribly guilty that he never knew about Evan. He knew dad had an affair, but not that a child came from it. So they take Evan in because he's on the run from his horrible foster parents. Kane sees that he's been abused and goes off the rails. Dylan finds out the backstory on the fosters and they're wanted for murder and known child trafficking.
Kane tells Evan about the family money and he says that's not why he's there, but Kane says half is he's ready...
Dylan and Evan start openly flirting with one another--and Leslie is surprised by it--Dylan says he's an equal opportunity lover...and he's got it bad for Evan. Kane puts a stop to it because he's under age...
Dylan warns that the foster parents will probably appear at some point soon because Evan was a meal ticket, and they know about the money...
The 4 of them are enjoying a day at the beach when Leslies' trouble radar goes off, and she and Dylan notice a white van parked behind them just idling. Dylan says act normal...then the van guns it and starts driving towards them...
We end book 4 with what appears to be Leslie being hit by the van....

It took a couple of chapters for me to get into this story, but once I was in that was it. I couldn't put the book down until I had read every single word that has been written.
There are surprises through out the story, some you may see coming while others you won't. Some surprises are large, while the others are small. But each and everyone holds equal importance, with regards to making the book the fantastic read that it is.
Each and every single emotion that the characters go through can be felt, I actually went through the emotions along with the characters, there were times that I wanted to smack the main male and female characters. But they both redeemed themselves.
This book is also available on audible.
