Some decisions can be the death of you. After ten years of a brutal apocalypse, Sarah Donovan doesn’t want much. Just a place where she can live where people aren’t trying to kill her. A place where she can raise her daughter and live without fear. Unfortunately, it's all a little more than any sane person should hope for. In the thrilling climax to the Irish End Game series, Mike and Sarah launch into the unforgiving North Atlantic in a retrofitted tramp steamer with five pregnant women, eleven children and fifteen desperate people in the determined hope of finding that place. Will they find their haven? If they do what will they have to sacrifice to get there? END GAME is a riveting thrill-ride of action, revenge, and heart-stopping bravery in the final chapter of one American woman’s life-defining battle with the unthinkable.
I have enjoyed all twelve books in this series. Learning the main characters, their loves, their losses and deep determination to carry on despite the odds. Husband, wife and son take a holiday in Ireland and an EMP destroys everything they know. Gun fights, kidnapping, rapes, new friends, lives lost all make for a wonderful adventure that covers a span of eight years! Great read!
This is a great series. It’s hard to imagine living through ten years in a totally primitive environment, but Susan paints the pictures so well that you can see it. The adventures of every character are very thought out. Toward the end, the effects of the weather weren’t terribly consistent, but weather at any time can be weird, so I can forgive that. Of course the best part is the enduring love and partnership of Mike and Sarah, and their dedication to their family and friends.
End Game (Irish End Games) Book 12 Susan Kieran Lewis
Waiting over a year for the 12th and final book of this series to be released, I was terribly disappointed to learn that it was only 216 pages long. I probably let that cloud my judgement the entire time that I was reading it. I felt that the whole premise of the book was to end the series and that was obvious from beginning to end. This book seemed flat, uninspired and brief. I am glad the 11 books preceding it were so much better.
This book (series) is totally addictive. It was well written and no noticeable proofreading errors (which drive me bonkers). It is not the type of thing I normally read but I was totally hooked through all 12 in the series. The end was maybe a little anticlimactic but I’m sure the characters would be happy with it that way. It had more twists and turns than a soap opera. If you like a good carthetic cry and having every nerve on edge, I recommend this book.
I've now read all 12 books in this series. I didn't review any of the previous 11 books because each one ends on a cliffhanger demanding the reader continues following this remarkable story. The odyssey has incredible highs and lows, goodies and baddies who sometimes charge sides. I thoroughly enjoyed this series and happily recommend it to readers who enjoy sometimes dark but enough light and happy post apocalyptic stories.
While not disappointed in the story line, I was not happy with the length of this book. After waiting for what seemed like a long time, it took only one afternoon to catch up with Mike and Sarah and what's left of their tribe. The plot twists were good and scary. The characters are true to previous books. I enjoyed every page!
I read the entire 12-book series almost non-stop. It was, just that enticing. It grabbed me from page one of the first book and kept me enthralled thorough the last page of the twelfth book. This series, with its great characters and fast-paced plot are,well-written and well worth reading.
I was excited to read this last book. It was a short book but it did tie up lose ends. I thought there were twists and turns that were unexpected per the usual with this series of books. I'm sorry to see it end and not be able to read more about that group of characters anymore.
I didn't want it to end! I thought the story was great. I was glad the author would put reminders in on past events from other books so I could remember what happened. I'm sad to see the end of Irish Games.
I loved this series of books. There was one adventure after another. I could not put down these books until I finished the last one. Great read! Now I’m sorry the books ended.
Very different from her other series, but I enjoyed it. It was sometimes hard to read, because it seemed like the tragedies would never end, but I enjoyed the series overall.
