In the third installment of the American Parable Series, Christian Sterling returns us to the world of organized crime in an alternate era of the United States. American Parable: One at War continues the story of the three gangs, The Revelators, DC-2, and The Young Guns in a gripping combination of action, humor, and romance.

Three months following the sudden disappearance of Marlo the Revelator, the mysterious conglomerate of gangs known as The Council finally reveals itself and its true intentions, casting the gangs back into the mayhem of war. Old and new enemies test the limits of David, Juan Carlo, and Allen as they lead their clubs, discovering the true power of The Council while uncovering the secrets that hide beneath their enemies. Their tales of moral challenges, romantic entanglements, and brotherhood are saddled by warfare, betrayal, and heartbreak. Themes of social responsibility clash with the world of organized crime as we reach a climax in this series of unending enthrallment.

Passion, heroism, tragedy, and enlightenment speak to the soul in this novel. With Sterling's continued captivating method of storytelling, brilliant dialogue, and analysis of the human spirit, every bit of literary greatness can be discovered within American Parable: One at War.

I do not have the adequate words to describe my true feelings on the third installment in the American Parable series. I cried, I laughed, I felt the raw emotions that the book presented. I was truly captivated by how well written this novel is. To evoke so many emotions and still have you wanting more after finishing the final chapter. A fabulous story and I will eagerly await the next installments. Christian, your writing is truly a work of art!

First of all, I’m shook. Second of all, this book was seriously so. dang. fantastic. I can already say it’ll be one of my favorites of the year. 🙌

“One At War” is the third in the American Parable series, and is easily my favorite one. For several reasons:

•Nolan and the Generals are just so. dang. punchable. FRICK.
•The Young Guns’ moral dilemma was written beautifully: keeping the kids safe until the Council turned, or joining the other gangs fo fight early on.
•The end of Part One. Freaking brilliant.
•Casey’s characterization. Weak externally, but vicious and honest on the inside. Loved it!
•The flow of the story was PERFECT. It was fun and intense. It was quiet and sweet when needed. And when a typically kinder character got moments of pure viciousness, it was so stunning and brilliant. (Karma Incarnate, baby. 👏👏)
•SAM. 😭
•SONNY. 😭😭
•Freaking Lucy. She’s so... GAH. She’s such a little jerk but also so casual and confident about it, and I. love. it.
•Seriously, how is it even possible to love and care for so many characters at once? And not a single one of them feels one-dimensional in the slightest?? It’s so absolutely incredible, y’all. I love this cast of characters way more than I thought would be possible. WOW.

I loved this book so much (clearly), and I absolutely can’t wait for more.

This is honestly one of my favourite books of all time.
We're back in the gang life and we're fighting with Juan Carlo, Allen and David. The whole story is jam packed with action, feelings and fury. Every gangs has its reason to fight but htey all fight one big enemy because that's the right thing to do, no matter what it takes.
You will laugh, cry and feel anger.
This book will suck you in and you won't put it down until you read the last word, I promise you!

This book and series. I normally can never get into any books that aren't fantasy however this series really proved that wrong and I loved every minute of it. I didn't want it to end now that there was more happiness in their lives however I didn't want anything else to ruin their happiness either. There was just enough tragic events to go with the comeptlely perfect ones which is exactly what I look for in a conclusion.

This was the perfect follow up to the sequel. It tied all of the story lines together in a really incredible way. As Sterling showcases in the previous books of the American Parable series, his story is filled with unending and enthralling storytelling.
