The Epic Conclusion to the Internationally Bestselling Dystopian Romance Series Talia and Erik thought defeating TOXIC was enough. They were very wrong. With enemies approaching from every direction, they're fighting for the existence of their species. Not everyone will survive....
Author of twenty-six books in six series, Sophie Davis is a pseudonym for best friends turned co-authors. The pair met in law school and instantly bonded over their love of great books and bad horror movies. When one longed for the ability to read minds so she wouldn't have to study for the bar exam, they created a dystopian world with superpowers that spans nine books.
While writing in genres of paranormal romance, time travel, urban fantasy, and mystery, their works have been optioned for film and translated for an international audience. You can find them teaching their dogs to enter wormholes in the desert of Southern California.
I have loved each and every book in the Talented series and couldn't wait to read Fated to see how everything got tied together in the end. However I was hugely disappointed with Fated. It felt rushed in the 2nd half and left SO many questions unanswered.
What happens with Cressa and Kev and why were they important? Do all of the created/privileged have to take the cure? If not do their brains deteriorate? Is Talia ok with her created talent because she was born so powerful? What about Alex, why was Gretchen so desperate to have him? Does Emma learn to control her talents? Do Kenly and James live a happy life?
I could go on and on with the questions I still have. Overall I'm just left hugely disappointed by this ending of such an incredible series that I have loved from the beginning.

The Talented Saga deserved a far better ending than the abrupt and anti-climatic one it got. We had been immersed in this world with an amazing bunch of characters over seven books, but the series ended with no proper answers/ending. It's a shame because, otherwise, it's a really decent piece of work.
Umm, did I miss something? What happened during the big battle between United and the Privileged? What was the big deal with Cressa? Did Talia and Erik lose anyone else close to them? Where does the world stand on the Talented? What about the Sons and the poachers? How did Cadence survive? Is Talia's still United's most wanted for Victoria's murder?
Although there was some closure, things kind of feel a little glossed over at the end, and too many questions still unanswered.
This one definitely had a lot of twists, moments when Erik then Talia, then Erik again, appeared to have reached that moment where anything could happen and we could lose one of our favorite characters. United was in chaos, the Isle destroyed, and Talented being hunted by Privileged, poachers, and other norms. Nowhere seemed safe, and the odds stacked against a resolution that did not end in a global war. This one definitely had me invested in seeing where things would play out, and of course, fingers crossed that nothing would happen to Erik and Talia and they'll get their chance at a happy ending. Still a great series, and a good conclusion, but is it really the end?
I am sad that this series has come to an end as it has been one of my favourite over the last few years. I received an early copy of this story from the authors and couldn’t wait to get started.
It has taken a while for me to be able to write a review as I wanted to do the story justice, although I’m not sure I possibly can.
I loved this story yet hated it at the same time. I loved it due to seeing my favourite characters again, finding out what life was going to throw at them this time. I was instantly drawn back into the story and read this almost in one sitting.
The reason I hated it? There were quite a few of the storylines left unresolved. It didn’t spoil my enjoyment of the story as a whole like some other reviewers but it did leave me wondering. Mind you, for a series to finish and still have you thinking about what happened to the characters is a great trick by the authors. It means that the reader won’t forget the story, and series, in a hurry.
I really liked Fated. There’s some good action scenes, cute romance, and the tension toward the end of the book was seriously intense. And so emotional! I loved it. And of course… Talia and Erik are back! Finally!
But… it wasn’t perfect. The ending felt rushed. I don’t want to go into detail about why because of spoilers, but I was a little surprised that the book was over, and I didn’t find that all my questions were answered.
That being said, I loved the book and seeing Talia and Erik and everyone together again made me so happy. Though not perfect, I think it is a wonderful and fitting end to a series that has been dear to my heart for many years.
Note: I received a copy of Fated in exchange for an honest review.
I read some of the reviews and they said this was too short and left many questions. I know there was some issues with publishing. I was under the impression that Fated would be split into two books. When I downloaded it from Kindle Unlimited, I got a notice of an update, so I downloaded the update. When I opened the book it said it was only 155 pages, but when I check the end of book it was like 8200 location pages with like 54-55 chapters. If you feel it was too short check to make sure you got the whole book. Okay now for the review there was lots of action, death and drama. I felt Sophie Davis answered all the questions that needed to be answered. This book kept me on the edge of my seat and turning the pages. Sophie Davis also made me tear up with certain things that happened and all the death. I loved how the relationship between Erik and Talia grew. I liked the fact of how things were not always easy for them. In my opinion this was a great conclusion to the Talented Series. There is only one question I'm not sure of what happened to Cressa and Kev. Maybe I missed I'm not sure. If you have read the other 7 books I would recommend.
I love this book just as much as all of the though the ending is a little bittersweet. I do have to say though that the grammatical errors were more prevalent than the pop previous book and were somewhat distracting. Please use better proofreaders when you are in a time crunch.
I was seriously disappointed in this book. I literally powered through the other 7 books (I remember one being a bit slower than the rest) with earnest, they were really, really good. (My thoughts on this might be clouded with the fact that they released this book in 2 parts, understandable circumstances, but, still impacted my view)
***SPOILERS***
After 8 books, the ending was TERRIBLE! Seriously? The death of Gretchen was extremely lack luster....and I don't understand what the point of Kev and the Karmine girl where during the entire story line now......They played ZERO useful parts in Book 8. I thought that was where it would all come together and the whole point of their story would begin to make sense.
I'm seriously disappointed in the ending - not Allegiant disappointed because at least I got a good ending, but still, after 8 books THAT was how it all ended? UGH. I feel like so many things where left up in the air with no answers, and after committing to THAT many books, I was hopeful a lot more would have been tidied up!
For the most part, I loved the series. I would have preferred a better ending - an EPIC battle between Gretchen and Talia maybe? A cure or not for Eric? Something? But, a "maybe"? What the heck?!?!?!?!
Will still read other books from this author as I did enjoy the other 7 and most of book 8.

I’m going to admit I was a bit terrified to read the final conclusion of this epic series. I fell in love with Talia and Erik the first time I read Talented and quickly devoured the rest of the series, reading each new book as they were released. I was nervous because so many times in these sorts of series, you know some favorites aren’t going to make it out alive at the end.
This book had me hooked from the beginning. It’s filled with action that kept the story moving along. I appreciated the alternating POV because Ms. Davis does an adept job at ensuring each character has his/her own voice. The inclusion of Cressa’s POV allowed me to see behind the scenes a little with Gretchen’s nefarious deeds. We don’t hear from Cressa in the last quarter of the book and I was quite sad about it. I think it could have added to the story.
The suspense of not knowing how it’s all going to end was well done. There is satisfaction but also sadness. Fans of the series will feel jubilation at the rightful fate of one but sadness (and possibly anger) at the fate of another. Great ending to a phenomenal series.
Oh, I am so sad that this series is over, but luckily the author(s) is prolific and has an overflowing imagination, so I am sure there will be more series that I love from her. This book, from an action and plot standpoint, was an epic finale to a fabulous series. I loved the conclusion to the war, and the addition of the Clearwater children. Without giving specific spoilers, obviously there is a heartwrenching loss in the book that I kept waiting to be úndone'. Was it or wasn't it? I love Talia remembering more about her parents, and there were certainly some shockers in those memories. My only SLIGHT quibble, if you can even call it that, was that the romance side of things was not front and center in this book. Obviously it's an action book, not a romance, but at the very end I just wanted a bit more of an explicit 'happy ending' for Talia and Erik. But that doesn't tarnish the 5-star review! *I received an ARC of this book to review, but I forgot that I was on the list so I also bought it as a pre-order, I was that excited for it! Money well spent too.
I received this book free for my honest opinion. I love this series! Talia and Eric are my absolute favorite couple and it is bittersweet to read this last book. There has been action, suspense, humor, love, sadness and sometimes victory battling the evil McDonoughs and so many others, it’s hard knowing this is the end. I am truly sad at the heartbreaking loss at the end. Although there seems to be hope, I just wish it wasn’t to late for one of my favorite characters. This book had a bit of everything, I was engaged from page one. I really would’ve preferred to read more about Penny than all those chapters devoted to Kev & Cressa. I feel one chapter describing Gretchen’s plan would’ve been enough. I could’ve done without them to be honest. It was great when Penny took over for Ian, she was bad ass. Thank you Sophie’s for writing this amazing series and making me fall in love with Talía and Eric through your words and storylines.

Wow. I just don’t know what to say. This book left me speechless. This is one of those series I reviewed on a blog tour many years ago when Talented first released. I have been a faithful fan ever since. It was heartbreaking to see the talented family say goodbye for a final time. I would have loved to see a longer epilogue, but maybe the authors will be so kind one day and write a short novella about life after Fated for the characters. So, I don’t want to use spoilers, but I have to say, I cried at the end. Part of it was so unexpected and not in the great way. I understand that sometimes you have to sacrifice, but man, it was a hard loss. Any other possibility would have been better IMO. Overall, an AMAZING final installment. I can’t recommend this series enough. Ten glittery stars for this book and the entire series!
I can't believe it's the end. It doesn't feel real. After 9 books!! 9!! I didn't even think I could go through the first 4 and yet, 9 books later and I would devour a 10th if there was another one. This story was amazing to say the least. I wish with every cell in me that this could become a TV series. I don't think a movie series would cut it! It has so many details, so many lives and so many plot-twists that it needs to be fully appreciated with time! This last book, Fated was great. It answered many of the questions that were raised throughout the series. I loved it but I still have many questions more! I was expecting a happy ending and I did get one but after 9 books, one lonely chapter being the short-sorta-not-full-clossure thing didnt cut it! I Still loved the entire series. Amazing job Sophie Davies!!
I think it is easiest to be the most critical while reading the final book in a series. Expectations are high for a book that nearly wraps up all of the loose ends from the series and does justice for the beloved characters. Unfortunately, this book does not do that. To be honest, this series either needed another book to adequately tie up the story, or should’ve ended after the third or fourth book.
It’s still a good story, but there are many grammatical errors due to poor editing. In addition to that, Davis introduced too much new information for a final book. On top of that, we never find out why Cressa is important enough to the plot that we get to hear the story from her perspective. Seriously disappointing!
I really enjoyed going along on this long journey with Talia and friends. The entire book is very action packed and grabs you from the very first page. I did feel like the final chapters were a bit rushed to get to the end and I would have liked to have seen some more resolution with all the different characters that the readers have followed throughout the entire series. I give the final book a solid 4 stars because of the amount of work that went into the story and I feel like I have gotten to know all the characters in this story. I wouldn't mind a small novella on "where are they now" kind of idea sometime in the near future.....*hint, hint* :)
OMG! This is truly an epic book! I was on the edge of my seat right from the first sentence of the Prologue. As I read each chapter, my heart was doing roller coasters. I would get happy, sad and angry. The characters were definitely epic in every chapter. I was not sad to see Gretchen did but was totally heartbroken that Penny died. I am sad to see this series end but what an explosive ending. I am happy that Talia and Erik finally get their happily ever after. I totally loved this book! FANTASTIC job Sophie! I would highly recommend this book and series!
I am very pleased with the ending of this series. Although, I did cry quite a bit knowing that this was the end for all the characters I’ve been so attached to for years now. One request I have for the Sophies is that they consider a spin off series with different characters. I really loved Cressa and Kev’s POV and thought these Privileged characters were amazing additions to the Talented world.
I don’t want to give anything away but be prepared with some tissues! This was the most emotional for me of the series!
I wish I could rate more than 5 stars, and I can’t wait to read this series over and over throughout the years. It’s timeless!!
To be honest I really am crying right now, I am crying over the fact that Penny died and I finished such an amazing series. This was definitely the best series that I have ever read. It gave me all the emotions in all the books. Happy, sad, angry, confused, excited; all of them. Really amazing 💕💕 But it didn't end as I expected, this book left us with so many unanswered questions about happened to most or even all of the characters. I know it says "the epic finale" but it wasn't so epic as it left us in the middle. I think it should have another book or a background book just to let us know how their life is going. I mean like not like a book with so many action stuff and hurting and dying or so but like an "a year later" version or more years to let us how Alex is not that he growed up. 😇💕

This last book was very emotional, suspenseful, action packed, and crazy good !! The only bad things I encountered throughout the books were missing or incorrect orders of some words in sentences. I also would've liked a longer ending, epilogue. I would've liked to have known a lot more about how the world ended up coping with talented versus norms after the ending.( Don't want to spoil it for anyone). The ending was just say too short. It left a lot of questions in my mind.
Ugh. So anticlimactic and why create characters if that have no importance. I was sure Cressa and kev would have a purpose, but nope. Being such a main story in the beginning, they just disappeared. It would have been better to drag this out for one more book to really see everything to it’s end. It felt like 75% of the book was the story telling and the last 25% was like “well I gotta finish the story cuz they won’t give me another book”. Soooo disappointing and honestly more a waste of my time.
I LOVE the Talented series by Sophie Davis, from the very first book I've been enthralled! Book 8, Fated, certainly doesn't disappoint. Although I'm sure that I'm not alone in waiting with bated breath for the second half of this book!
The plotline is intriguing, the characters are fully fleshed out and FINALLY we get to learn what Gretchen has been up to with her nefarious wickedness!
This is an excellent end to the series. I have read all of the books multiple times. I love Talia. She's an amazing spitfire.
The only issues I have with this series is the typos. There are so many throughout. Each book needs to be reviewed and edited to fix the errors. Most are simple and don't affect the story, but there are some that cause confusion for the reader.
OMG. Wow. Just wow. The continuing story of Talia, Erick and Penny. And don't forget all of the other characters both new and old. They have a final battle to fight. But who doesn't make it when the final curtain comes down. What a fantastic final story to finish this unbelievably good series. So very highly recommended.
Mixed emotions reading this as I couldn't wait to see where it would end, but so didn't want to say goodbye to Talia and Erik or any of their "family". Although I didn't want it to end, it was a great ending to a fantastic series. Even with the sadness. Love every book in this saga and can't wait to read the next series from these girls 💞
This series deserved an epic ending like this. I am very sad to say goodbye to Erik and Talia, along with so many other favorite characters. So glad Gretchen met her end, she was definitely off her rocker. Sad that we lost so many but that's what happens when someone wants to rule the world.
I have enjoyed this series but felt like this book introduced a bunch of new characters and then didn’t do anything with them. An especially lot of time was devoted to Kev and Cressa and then they were just left hanging our there. I am actually going to page back through to see if I missed a chapter or something.
This book took me the longest to finish. I knew when I read the last page that would be it. I have come to love all the beautiful characters in these books. The author did an incredible job building a believable dystopian future an completed it with solid world and character building.
I enjoyed this whole series and despite what some other reviewers said, I do think there was an ending for most characters. I do feel that we never truly get answers on why Cressa was so important, but I think Erik and Talia had a true ending. My biggest complaint is the same as a lot of other books where I feel that no one proof read it. There were so many typos and grammatical errors.
