Falling in love for the first time should be the most amazing feeling in the world. For me, it was the exact opposite. See, the guy I fell in love with turned out to be a cheat. The best part, the real doozy? He cheated on me with my very own twin sister. The entire debacle left me with enough wounds, and knives in my back to last me a lifetime. I was convinced I’d never fall in love again. Ever. Until I ran into my past.Orlando was my first crush. My friend. But he’s not the Orlando I remember. He’s changed. Now he’s the silent, brooding type. The type I should avoid while nursing a broken heart. I know I shouldn’t risk it. I know I should keep my distance. But here’s the thing…I can’t.
Hailing from India, Catherine is an author passionate about Lycans, Werewolves, Witches and Vampires, and writes sizzling tales of love and betrayal.
Her love for books started from a very young age, when her loving father would gift her books like Russian Tales woven with fantasy. But it was in late 2015 when she found the books of Paranormal Romance author Cynthia Eden, whose books introduced her to the whole new world of paranormals. The more she read the more she got enticed and she penned her first novel in 2016.
When she isn’t writing, she likes to travel and read. Music and writing goes hand in hand for this night owl. Her family and furbabies are her world.
She also loves to chat with her readers and fellow authors. You can find Catherine often chatting on Twitter or on her Facebook page.
Imagine how devastated you would be if you got dumped for your own twin sister. It happened to Arianna, and what’s worse, she found out when the pair got engaged right in front of her. She’s as heartbroken as you would imagine, but her friends come to the rescue and whisk her off to a destination wedding where she reconnects with her first crush.
Orlando is mysterious, the strong silent type, but as they spend time together, they connect on a level even deeper than Ari had with her ex. The story follows their blossoming romance against the backdrop of Ari’s estrangement with her family and lingering issues about how her ex-boyfriend won’t leave her life entirely.
I’ll tell you, Catherine Edward did a great job of making me hate Brian (the ex) from the very beginning. I wanted to kill him and set him on fire, not only for how he two-timed Arianna, but for the awful way he treated her when he left. He was unnecessarily cruel, a great juxtaposition to Orlando who is always appreciative and respectful of Arianna.
Ari has a lot to overcome and goes through quite a journey here. This book is part one of a duology, so be prepared for the story to end before you’re ready. A lot of questions are still unanswered about Orlando’s past, but I like that he’s kind of an enigma, and I feel like the second book will give us the answers we’re looking for. (I also feel like there has to be more to her family drama. I hope we learn some new layers about what’s driving her family’s attitude toward her.) Looking forward to unraveling the mysteries.
I really liked this story. Even though this is a NA story, but for me it had more of YA feel to it. Putting that aside, this story had a bit of angst and sadness, then a bit of moving on and starting over in a new romance, and the entire story kept me glued to the very end. This story has a huge cliffy ending, but the second story has been released.
This was a good read Arianna has a twin sister Alana who is the good sister Ari was kicked out as a teen for being to independent. The two sisters and up with the same man Ari was blindsided by a relationship she didn't know existed and discovering she was the other woman. Broken and humiliated she takes a trip to a friends wedding and finds herself back in touch with her first crush and Orlando is just what she needs to get over him. This was a good read and this was my first time reading this author. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading more from this author.
I received an ARC from author. My review is given completely volunterly.
"Getting over Him" by Catherine Edwards. Book 1 from the "Moving on Duology " series.
This is a second chance at love story, were both Arianna and Orlando had their hearts broken. Arianna was devastated when Brian dropped her like a hot potato for her twin sister, they got engaged right there in front of her with no pre-warning of what was going to happen. This was just heartbreaking, I felt so bad for her..... I have to admit I was shedding some tears on her behalf. Her friend Mike swooped in, and took Arianna away to the Cortez estate that was located on a private island near New Ikandas. She was familiar with the estate, the family and especially Orlando who happened to be her first teenager crush. Orlando was the eldest of the cousins. He was coordinating the wedding of another cousin that was going to happen in 2 wks in the estate. He was very serious and never smiled any more. She new that something big happened to him, he wasn't the same happy funny person. Someone's broke his heart. Now he was all about the families business....all work no play. They both needed a distraction to forget their pain, no strings attached, no labels. This was a serious romance, it was painful, hard betrayal, her family animosity, I loved her friends and the Cortez family the way they embraced and protected Ari was heartwarming. I was a bit confused about the ending of this book, it feels like it's a cliffhanger. There's a book coming written in Orlando's point of view/with his back story. "Resisting Her" book 2 (I'm assuming that's what duology means. I hope we get closure with that story) that is the only negative thing I have to say about this novel. I'm not a fan of cliffhangers.
First, I have to admit I’m an unrepentant cover snob. I love pretty covers and Getting Over Him delivers that in spades. I was immediately struck by this cover and so in love with it. Seriously, how can you not want to pick up a book like this with that kind of cover??
All the cover gushing out of the way, on to the story between the pages.
Right off the bat, Ari ripped my heart out. Her boyfriend (even though he denies that title) cheated. With her sister. Her twin sister. And because that isn’t heart wrenching enough, Ari is a guest at Alana and Brian’s engagement party where absolutely no one is acknowledging her pain. Or existence.
It is zero wonder that she calls her friend Mike to whisk her away to somewhere, anywhere, that isn’t in the path of the happy couple. Ari is taken to her best friend’s family home to reconnect with old friends and, unexpectedly, her first love Orlando.
Not a total fairy tale though as the sexy, mysterious Orlando is brooding and clearly carrying his own secrets. Ari has been burned by a man hiding things and definitely learned her lesson there. Orlando DEFINITELY isn’t Brian, but
Getting Over Him is the first in a duology so you will note several dangling threads, waiting to be tied up, but never fear, there is a part two coming soon! BUT DON’T WAIT UNTIL THEN!!! Grab your copy of Getting Over Him today!
GETTING OVER HIM was the best thing Ari could do. When your man tricks and deceive you for your twin. What's the best thing that could happen...your best friend takes you away where as fate would put it you find yourself gravitate to another man. What happens is what you'll have to read.
An easy read that I didn't want to put down. Catherine did such a good job of building these characters and giving their story it's justice.
It's emotional, seductive and strong on character development (they made me want to find out what happens and for Ari to move on to better than that d-bag Brian). I received an ARC for an honest and voluntarily review.
This book had everything I love about a book - drama, romance, angst, mystery, lust, betrayal and love. It ended in a cliffhanger which I didn't like but the story was so interesting, I cannot wait for the next book. I just hope it comes soon because I want in on the drama that is this couple and their friends who have captured my interest so much. I also want to know what is up with her family. She's portrayed as the bad seed in her family yet it seems that her family are the strange and crazy ones. Is our viewpoint skewed? The friends will endear themselves to you. The two main characters will charm you and fill your soul with warmth, love and happiness and yet still keep you wondering what is going on with them and their relationship. Her family will intrigue you. Recommend.
They say that the best way to get over a cheating man or even one who dumps you in the most callous way, is to replace him asap! Goodness, poor Arianna. She deserved so much more and I am so glad Orlando took her away from that family of vipers! Now that is 100 percent blue ribbon grade A man beef! Wow! Thank you. I enjoyed reading this book!

I thought the book was okay. It read very much like a teen romance, with all the push-pull, female drama, and such. The plot just seem to be a bit much -there's just a bit of everything in there. ON the bright side, I enjoyed Ari's friends though. Like it says, it ends in a cliffhanger

Any and all of these words can describe 'Getting Over Him'. We have twin sisters, one good and one not so good. Alana, that not-so-good sister, knows exactly how to wield a knife so it stabs into Arianna, her twin's back, perfectly. And then there’s Brian, a scalawag if I’ve ever seen one. (Do they even use that word anymore?) Anyway, he plays both sisters perfectly. One knows what’s going on... but, as you probably can guess, the good twin knows nothing. She’s blindsided by both Brian and Alana.
Heartbroken and distraught, no longer able to trust anyone who should have been her support system, she flees with her good friend Mike for some much needed healing. Mike takes her to an out-of-town family event where she runs into Orlando, her very first crush. He also knows what betrayal is like. He knows what Arianna is feeling. And he knows her innocence.
Arianna suffers betrayal on many levels. Not only shocked at learning Brian cheated with her twin sister, but the paparazzi is releasing extremely suggestive photos that make it look like Arianna is and always has been a tramp. But this does’t fool Orlando one bit. He’s out to protect her and avenge her. And boy, is he good at this game.
The book stands alone. No cliffhanger ending, which is a VERY big plus for me. However, the author draws the reader into the storyline so much that we want to know more. What happens? Who gets the ‘happy ever after’? How does the sabotage unfold? So, I very much look forward to a sequel. As I said, this book stands alone. But why let a great storyline rest? We want to see Orlando in action.
I read this on Wattpad so this review is based on that draft. It’s now being published.
Getting Over Him follows Ari as she's nursing a broken heart. Losing your guy is bad enough, losing him to your twin sister is even worse. Ari is the outcast in her family. She doesn't want to play the role of socialite and go into the family business.
To get her away from all the hoopla surrounding her sister's upcoming wedding to her ex, Ari's friends whisk her away for some time to heal and relax. I loved that she had so many close friends that were there to support her. Sometimes it got to be a little much to keep up with everyone because there were a lot of them being introduced and such.
But enter Orlando. The one name that stood out among the crowd. Orlando is quiet, a little brooding, and Ari has had a huge crush on him for a long time. He's dealing with his own pain that he keeps close to the chest, but it comes out he's been harboring a thing for Ari as well.
The attraction and expectations are upfront and honest. I love good communication. My catnip. Things aren't left to chance. And even though we're not in Orlando's POV you know he's loyal and protective to those in his circle. Ari included.
Over the course of the story Ari starts to feel like her old self, despite the ex being annoying and trying to control her behavior as if he had that right. This is a two-part series so while this does end on a hopeful note, the complete HEA is still to come.
Ari is being wisked away by friends to get through her heartbreak and betrayel. Her ex who didn't actually end it proposed to her identical twin. Her sister and her never had a close relationship and this just made it all worse.
Escaping to her best friends family home brought her to friends she missed seeing and her old crush Orlando.
Orlando was broken and found Ari as a kindered spirit. These two get close but he has a business trip that will seperate them....
Told by her pov for part one there is a cliffhanger to see how part two told by his pov occurs.
I'll impatiently wait to see what happens.
This was a different read for me- I don't normally do books with a cliffhanger but thankfully it has a part two coming. I wonder what happened to Orlando in college and set him up to use those pills. He clearly cares about Ari as she's his second ever partner and he's her first.
And what is up with Brian- seems he is a good guy but stuck under his parents thumb. Alana is like a robotic stepford wife. I wonder if she really is pregnant or if that was her way to trap him. If it was I do hope he finds love and leaves Ari alone. I also hope Alana gets her just desserts.

I think this plot encompasses one of the worse betrayals of all, that of a twin sister and your boyfriend! Needless to say, there is a lot of emotion and drama that goes along with this story. The betrayal isn’t the whole story, it’s only the beginning of a new plot. There is great character development as we follow Ari through the end of one relationship and in to another. It does end on a cliffhanger, so be prepared for that! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I loved the plots and the characters...how you developed the story and how they grown together and into each other...how the emotions like insecurities, love, happiness, goofiness are displayed for us is so well done...I can see the characters with my mind eyes, to cry and laugh with them...thank you for your work...I loved to read it.
Arianna is destroyed when the guy she thought was her boyfriend proposes to her twin sister. Luckly shes wisked away to a friends wedding where her very first crush is. Orlando has been hurt. But he feels something for Arianna. This book ends on a cliff hanger and now i can not wait to read the next book.

This is actually a well written novella but it reads like a teen romance, but I still enjoyed this and will read the next in the series which looks the same story but from his POV and add to the story.
I think that this author will get stronger so worth keeping an eye on for the future. There are some great detailed reviews and feedback on Amazon.com and Goodreads
Definitely worth a quick read if you like teen romances.

Thank God for good friends Ari has so many problems with her family that it reads like a Greek tragedy and she really needs her friends help. There is heat in this one and I liked seeing Ari trying to get it together again. I also enjoyed reading all the twists and now I wonder what will happen in book 2. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
This was a great start to the series and a really good romance they storyline is really good and interesting, but just to warn you it does end in a cliffhanger and I cannot wait for the next book to find out what happens next. I did enjoy it and really liked Ari and her friends well worth a read

I received a free copy of this book however all thoughts and opinions are 100% my own. I loved this! It grabbed me from the first page, kept me til the last and enthralled me in between. Well worth your time to read it.
It was a hard betrayal to recover from - twin sisters and one guy doesn't sound good at all. Fortunately for her, and for us, Ari has good friends and is strong enough to move forward. I recommend the book to anybody who loves a romance with development and nuances.
