found out i hate pumpkin soup. however, this is an incredibly good book. it's well edited, the recipes are short and simple, the variety is really good, and it's relatively easy to make all the soups veg. the world isn't ready for my soup truck!!!!! IM LOOKING AT U BIA

This is a surprisingly good soup book. I hesitated to review it because, you know, it's just a soup book. I own a lot of cookbooks, many digital these days, and I must have at least a half dozen soup books. Most of them are just okay. This one stands out because of the lack of weird expensive ingredients. it's organized by season and is easy to navigate digitally. A few too many pureed soups for my taste. But all the recipes that I have tried so far were really good! Thane Prince's Allotment Soup, Minestrone Soup, and Tuscan Bean Soup were all winners. I've marked several more to try.

I enjoy soup especially in the winter, but I tend to stick with the handful of soup recipes I cook over and over. So, I decided to check out The Soup Book to get some more soup ideas and recipes. I like that the recipes are organized by season as I do like to eat seasonally as much as I can. There is also a chapter on techniques like making your own stock, ways to thicken soup, etc. There is also a chapter with bread recipes since bread and soup go so well together. There are definitely some new soup recipes I'd like to try in here. Overall, a good soup cookbook that can help you open your soup horizons more.

Oh my, we love soup and I love this book! Never before would I have considered making soup from lettuce and peas, but the picture was intriguing - and the soup was delicious! There are outstanding soup recipes from chefs hailing from far-ranging places and I am excited to try almost every one. One of my favorite birthday gifts ever!

Some nice recipes, some unusual, some disappointing. Overall a beautiful book to browse (lovely pictures). Not the best book of soups I’ve ever had (ever heard of New Covent Garden Soup Company's Book of Soups: New, Old & Odd Recipes, guys? That’s my go-to).

An alright cookbook. I appreciated the section at the beginning about soup-making techniques. The book is organized by seasons, but I also noticed that within each season, the soups are organized by the main ingredient (listed on the upper right corner of the right pages). Just in terms of formatting, I wish that was just a bit more prominent because it is a good navigation tool.

Some of the soups here were traditional, some a little bit more experimental. An alright assortment of soups. The book does what it sets out to do, but it didn't feel super standout in the genre for me.

"The Soup Book" has opened my eyes to soups I wouldn't have ever even thought about. As they say, the prettiest girls are soup girls - and who doesn't love a delicious, warm, cozy bowl of soup? This lovely soup cookbook is filled with full-color photos and delicious recipes of the coziest dish out there - soup. There's something for everyone in here, no matter your dietary preferences or restrictions.

This book has so many great recipes that I’ve bookmarked.

The information on how to make stocks and other how to information is invaluable.

My only complaint is there are too many fish soup recipes. Of course it’s my personal dislike of fish, not the recipes.
