Anna Zaires fell in love with books at the age of five, when her grandmother taught her to read. She wrote her first story shortly thereafter. Since then, she has always lived partially in a fantasy world where the only limits were those of her imagination. Currently residing in Florida, Anna is happily married to Dima Zales (a science fiction and fantasy author) and closely collaborates with him on all their works.
After graduating from the University of Chicago with a degree in Economics, Anna spent eight years on Wall Street analyzing stocks and writing research reports. In 2013, she became a full-time author, pursuing her lifelong dream of writing romance novels.
Dima Zales is the love of her life and a huge inspiration in all aspects of her writing. Every book Anna writes is a product of their unique collaborative process.
In addition to reading and writing, Anna enjoys drinking tea (coconut oolong, anyone?), watching addictive TV shows, and discussing book ideas during long walks with her amazing husband.
She loves hearing from her readers, so please don't hesitate to contact her through her website or connect with her on Facebook, where she hangs out way too often. Also, please visit her husband and collaborator, Dima Zales, at www.dimazales.com and check out their fantasy & science fiction books.
I love Anna Zaires' writing style and, on top of that, I was blown away by the world she created here.
Seriously though, she must be wicked smart, because there was a whole lot of fancy sounding science-y things happening here. And my blonde, math-hating self was uber impressed.
Korum and Mia actually reminded me a lot of Julian and Nora from her Twist Me series, just more...space-y.
If you like PNR, captivity themes, and super possessive alpha males, I would recommend this for sure.
My only beef with this was the ending as it pertains to the larger, overarching "world takeover" storyline. I thought it was a little too...optimistic and it just felt a little cheesy to me.
What makes it endurable? (once this simple question came to my mind, I realised it's sort of an existential one too 🥲)
- Everything passes (the answer that makes me smile through my tears).
Well, I finished reading this series!! (I blatantly ignored the 2nd book, though. This is the third one. Does it make me a cheater? ❤️ I wanted to be done with Mia and Korum and I needed to make amends. Yes, I'm a cheater)
It has an end. Phew. ❤️ Now back to the other side of the coin.
What makes it unendurable? - The don't remember how many thousands years old alien calling his human mate MY SWEETstopped counting after a few hundred times. ❤️
Uncreative, repetitive a̶u̶t̶h̶o̶r̶s̶ aliens are normally not my jam, but this time... neither. 💋
Anyone who shelved and/or marketed it as science fiction...hi, lovelies, don't come near me, I might bite you in the ass. 🤚🏻 This series barely scratched the surface of the genre because it was too busy scratching Korum's itch and Mia's itch respectively throughout the two books I had enough foolishness to read. Did I care about their itches? The answer is no. ❤️
Now I shall try to decide whether this shallow, prolonged story with focus on sex between a horny old ass alien and a horny young human girl deserves a trashy review from me.❤️💋
Honestly I just think that porno shouldn't be overanalysed, even if we are postmodern philosophy aficionados... (but that's precisely what my inner clowness visits this site for (🤡))
The conclusion for the story of Korum and Mia in the Krinar Chronicles. It is still a very enjoyable and engaging story, which I read in one sitting.
The mysterious Krinar traitor has created more questions than answers. Fortunately everything will fall into place and very soon Mia and Korum will have to worry only about their future together and Mia’s memory loss.
There is an arena fight, in which we realize that although Krinar are advanced, they are still a bit Neardental and old fashioned at heart. Anyhow, Korum is once more magnificent.
We finally get to see the Krinar’s planet when Mia and her family flight there. The descriptions of the planet have the quality of a great old-fashioned Sci-Fi book.
The end of the story maybe is too optimistic, but I am happy with that.
This was one of the first "alien-type" stories I've ever read and Anna has spoiled me for other paranormal books of this type. Like... No alien so far has ever been able to compare to Korum. Lol.
I mean, the only books I've read that were genre-similar to this that were able to maybe stand beside this series was Evangeline Anderson's Brides of the Kindred book series.
Thank you, Anna, for introducing me to Mia and Korum.
When a book, manages to include sexy aliens, domineering males, human evolution, young damsel in distress, family values, evil masterminds and a love that transcends light years, species and defies biology and ethics then it's definitely a WINNER!
The love of story of Mia, a young innocent human torn between her feelings towards her alien lover and the loyalty she owes to humans and her family and Korum the powerful Krinar who will ruthlessly claim what is his and eliminate anything that stands in his way, comes to its conclusion in this book.
They will face the last of their hurdles and they will travel far away to overcome evil and claim the happiness that they deserve. More passionate than ever they set the whole book on fire and they take your breath away.
Anna Zaires, delivers a satisfying read with enough sci-fi elements to satisfy my geeky-Spock Forever side.I liked the worldbuilding but especially in the first books, I had some problems with the lack of communication between the main couple and the stereotypical build-up of their relationship. But I can't help but love the power of emotions and witness 2 so different and complex characters overcome their basic nature and become one heart and soul. For the rest of eternity.
I am anxiously awaiting for more stories in the Krinar universe and of course the Dark Erotica that Mrs. Zaires promised us at the end of this book...
This was a brave departure in format from the previous books in the series. The Point of View is split three ways and the structure divided into acts. But the bravest thing of all,
The narrative was fast paced for the first third of the book, then slowed to a crawl for a while (which is why I couldn't rate this book higher.)
The quality of the story began to pick up once
Once again, the Author weaves a beautiful, complex visual of her Alien worlds and technologies which take this entire series to an unexpected and highly entertaining level which was surprising and refreshing for the genre of Paranormal Romance.
This series is certainly worth a read!["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
Re-read: 08.10.2016 Korum is the only thing/person that makes this series worth re-reading. I love his...ruthlessness, his domineering presence, his smart, brilliant mind, his sex appetite, his dimple, his - yeah, I can go on forever talking about Korum. I do believe I love him. Oh! I forgot his predatory moments. His possessiveness. His - damn it. Fine, I'll stop. Mia, on the other hand, I only accept as a part of the story. She is, though, at her best in this book. She's not so annoying here... And if you are wondering: no, I do believe this is/was my only re-read of this series... Second rate: 2.5 stars. First rate: 3 stars.
Audiobook: Narrator – Robert Scarlato Yes, I’ve said it and I’ll always say it…this narrator is one of my favorites! He does an amazing job of bringing Mia and Korum to life as well as all the secondary characters. Each voice is distinctive and the female voices never bother me. I realize that narration is highly suggestive to each listener, but please try a sample of this one if you have any doubts.
This is the final book in the series and while it repeated a lot of what went on in the prior books, it also offered some new a miraculous things. I loved watching Korum fight to win Mia all over again, this time knowing exactly what he feels. The drama here is enough to keep the story moving forward through the repetitive areas and as each new problem arose I was antsy to find out what the solution would be. I have to admit, I wasn’t sure this couple would find the perfect happy ending. I began to mourn that I’d have to settle for something that looked like happy.
This has been an amazing series to read/listen to and I’m so glad I decided to dive into it. I hope to eventually go back and read the novellas.
'Close Remembrance' is the third, and final, book in the Krinar Chronicles trilogy. Picking up right where the second book ended, this book has both a softer side, as well as a tougher, more brutal side. While Korum and Mia must get reacquainted following her memory loss, the more primal Krinar need for violence and domination also takes center stage as Korum must defend himself in an arena challenge.
Truths are revealed at last, with Korum's enemy finally caught and held accountable for his crimes. At last, their is peace for Korum and Mia. They are finally able to focus on their relationship and building a future together. Korum has big plans for Mia and her family, culminating with their own nuptials.
Overall, it was an engaging, entertaining read. It held my attention all the way through. A softer side of Korum is exposed and I enjoyed watching him win Mia back over again. I give it 4 stars!
From the looks of things I guess I’ve been kind of on an alien kick thanks to Jennifer Armentrout. While organizing my lovely kindle I felt the urge to tackle one of my freebies since that list only seems to grow much faster than I seem to be able to read them. eBook hoarder? Moi? Never! It just so happens that this story was on that list. I really enjoyed the sci-fi aspects in the first book and they are pretty solid all throughout. I found Mia and Korum’s tumultuous relationship intriguing since she had to essentially sleep with the enemy all for the sake of helping mankind. But the sequels pretty much removed all intrigue for me so the story fell very flat. Oh, things happened, but I was really ticked at the third book where Mia suffers memory loss and the plot ended up repeating the same developments as the second book. That conveniently allows the author to rehash what we already read and it’s not like these books have the largest page count. We remember, I promise! And don’t even get me started on the gag-worthy ending. Talk about a prime example of wrapping everything up in a neat little bow to the point of it feeling unfulfilling and completely forced. You can believe there were eye-rolls galore. I like my HEA’s, but I like for them to feel earned.
And so begins my spoilerific rant:
I was also slightly annoyed that the aliens possessed sharp canines and drank blood, but they supposedly aren't vampires. I just feel like the creative well ran dry there.
As I read more about these novels, I learned that they are a collaboration of Anna Zairnes and her husband, who also happens to write. At first I was ready to be super impressed by a romance author who was able to provide such a rich alien culture and world. But now it’s clear to me that she probably handled the romance and he probably handled the sci-fi stuff (there’s a preview of his own sci-fi book at the end of these novels). Nothing wrong with that of course (Ilona Andrews is a prime example), but one emerged as stronger than the other to me.
So all in all I wanted to like it, but…meh. It had standout potential that became forgettable as the books went on. Perhaps it would have been better as a duology.
I absolutely enjoyed the ride.... Everything about Korum and Mia's story was intense, hot, sexy and highly addictive. These characters were fabulous, the storyline was intriguing and the writing was impeccable as always. Overall rating for the whole Series : 4.5 stars!
4,25 stars!! well for me it's time to say bye bye to Korum and Mia story! this one was full of action compared to the others in the series, so it was pretty interesting there are more and more knowlegde of the K nation that will be presented here so if you are interested in exo-planets and hottie aliens go ahead and read the series. There were still some bumps in Mia and Korum relantioship, but they will be resolved :D Now what mister 'best friend' did wasn't nice at all...but as Mia said somehow what he did to her made her more open to all the universe had to offer. Now as for Korum...by the end i understood most of his actions, with all of his big dreams, all he needed was someone that fit him perfect, and he choosed Mia as the one ...and let me tell you that his dreams as big as the universe lol. Overall it was a really nice read, so thank you dear author for this story.
This book was so great and a perfect ending to Korum and Mia's story. I was amazed by the Korum POV content. I was surprised by all his inner workings. He is really an extraordinary man and I love him so much. I loved him before but mostly because of how mysterious and deliciously intimidating he was. But now that I know what is inside of him I just melt. His world revolves around Mia. He would and has done almost anything for her. Her wish is his command. I love how it was said that the greatest force for peace between the Krinar and humanity is Korum's love for Mia. Wow! That's some Homer sh*% right there!
"Her huge blue eyes ... made him want to slay dragons..."
Korum and Mia's relationship is amazing and tumultuous and I loved seeing it come all this way. It was the HEA to end all HEAs. Not only were they happy and in love and going to live HEA, but then they .
"I enjoy you, Mia--you enhance every moment of my existence. Your smile, your laugh--even your stubbornness--make me happier than I've ever been before."
This book had some tension at the beginning with the mysterious K who I won't reveal to you, but after that it was pretty smooth sailing. I was sort of missing the tension that I loved so much about the first two books, but I am happy that Korum and Mia have such a bright future ahead of them. And I cannot wait for what else the K and Anna Zaires have in store for me in The Krinar Captive!["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
The conclusion of "The Krinar Chronicles" trilogy. Korum & Mia are a couple. Korum has claimed Mia as his charl. Life is good and the two can live out their lives in happiness and joy.....
NOT. There are a few loose ends to tie up including the person behind The Rebellion, the fact that Mia will outlive her family as an immortal, the REAL reason Krinars are on Earth, and who the mysterious stalker is who showed up at the end of Book 2.
I held off reading this book as I really loved the previous two installments and was very worried that this one would ruin the series for me. There were a lot of pieces in the puzzle that needed to be handled along with finally finding out if Korum was a hero or a villian. Oh, it's pretty much slanted in one direction but blindsides have been known to happen.
Overall I did appreciate the way this trilogy ended. I am of the mind that all readers will never be pleased with the end result so I guess it all depended on if the sell would support how the last word of the last page would play out. I have come to the opinion that I was on board with the HEA ending and wrap up of things. I don't agree with certain subplot outcomes but it's not my place to play Goddess here so all is good in the world.
Adult content. Oooooooohhhhhhh baby. Totally got sucked into the D/s scenes between Korum & Mia. That man may have ice in his veins in public, but in the bedroom. YEE HAW, ride 'em cowboy !!!!!
The one downer in this was that I knew the trilogy would end with this installment. I do respect authors who don't string along fans by extending a series past their prime or whipping a dead horse to keep the series going. Always leave us wanting more right? To my surprise I discovered at the end of this book that the author has a WIP for a prequel to "The Krinar Chronicles" and she has set the stage for a spin off series. I guess we haven't seen the end of Krinar.
First off, this review is in regards to the book as a whole. I have to start off by saying I love the world building. Zaires obviously put a lot of thought into the world specifics. So while on one hand I am thoroughly impressed at her detail, on the other hand at times the explanations got a bit lengthy and boring. But at least it all made sense.
The sex was hot enough the first couple of times, but after a while the repetition bored me and I just skipped those parts. I was rolling my eyes at how "Startled" & "Surprised" she was - how every time she "Gasped" over his immediate intrusion.
What I found interesting as well about the book was how similar it was to things I've written or thought about. It's almost as if Zaires picked through all my little tid bit writings and thoughts for some story lines and wrote them first ... and definitely better.
So If I liked it so much why only 3 stars? Because I hated Mia. Talk about whiny and hard to please. And really - how much sleep does a human need? I get 6 hours nightly, no naps.
While I liked Korum, I did not fall in love with him. I also felt like in the book Korum completely changed but Mia didn't.
All in all I really liked it but not in the all encompassing "New book boyfriend" "I can't set it down" kind of way. In fact many times I did set it down... just because.
In this third and possibly the final instalment, the story starts to hot up and I'm not just referring to the hot sex scenes. Korum has been just fabulous throughout the three books. In this one we get his POV for the first time, giving us a insight into what he thinks and how he feels. Mia is slightly less annoying but not by much!
The traitor ups his plan and Korum and Mia are in more danger than ever before. But will his plan succeed or is Korum too strong of an adversary. Mia's family feature more in this story as well. The sci fi aspects of this whole series have been superb, I loved all the world building and fabulous gadgets. Looking at the authors website I see we can look forward to another book a prequel, but it's about a new couple. No date yet for when it's due. Overall this series has been an interesting read.
In the Third book of the series, and the final story of Korum and Mia, we have a story where life seems to be working so well for Korum and Mia. They are enjoying their lives together in Costa Rica. The trials have ended and justice has been met….or has it been?? We see another side to the story with a villain, a villain who is fixated on Mia….a fellow Krinar that was never caught and the villain is the last one that you would expect it to be and the reader doesn’t find out who he really is until he is revealed about halfway through the story. This story features a traumatic event where Mia loses her memory and something else….the villain makes her mind more “agreeable” not thinking that she would fall in love again with Korum.
This is a pretty emotional ride and boy it swept through my emotions like wild fire. I honestly couldn’t contain my tears in this book just seeing what Korum and Mia have to go through. Seeing them so happy in the beginning and then having to go through this challenge was pretty heart breaking at times. But Korum and Mia’s realtionship is really strong and their love isn’t something you can just “forget” and seeing them reconnect was pretty powerful.
I enjoy you, Mia–you enhance every moment of my existence. Your smile, your laugh–even your stubbornness–make me happier than I’ve ever been before.
And we get some pretty fun times between these two as well. Mia and her family visit the Krinar homeworld, they meet the elders “Now these elders are millions of years old…so its a big deal considering not many Krinar have met them” and we get to meet Korum’s parents which is a delight and we have a wedding that happens that totally made me cry in the end….happy tears this time. I swear this author can really write an emotional story that gives you all the feels. I never wanted their story to end, Korum and Mia’s story is such an epic….you fall head over heels very quickly and I loved that about this author seeing her write such a heartfelt yet sensual read is powerful and unforgettable. I can’t wait to grab more of this author because these books won my heart over!!
Writing is excellent and so is the story, I love/hate Korum but my main problem is Mia. As other reviewers have said, Mia is just stupid. Just one example:
“Overpopulation is not the Elders’ only concern, you see. Every generation brings something new to your society, changing it for the better. It was less than two hundred years ago that humans in your country thought nothing of keeping slaves. And now the thought of that is abhorrent to them – because generations have passed and values have changed. Do you think you could’ve eradicated slavery if the same people who had once owned slaves were still around today? Your society’s progress would slow tremendously if we uniformly extended your lifespan – and that’s not something the Elders want at this point.” “So we are just an experiment,” Mia said, unable to keep the bitterness out of her voice.”
That’s all she has to say to Korum’ great points. And although she claims many would choose long life over children Mia goes on to secure long life for herself, her whole family, who all go on to have children. She’s also apparently secured long life for overall humanity ... 😐😑
As I sit down to type this review, I can't get Freddie Mercury's voice out of my head, mournfully singing "Who wants to live forever?" Anna Zaire's immortality storyline in this third installment of the Krinar Chronicles finally reveals the intertwined history of humans and the Krinar, and it is an exciting, original and imaginative ride. I like that this science fiction romance book not only has scorching love scenes, but introduces really new concepts for technology that seem so much more organic that what has been offered in the past. The author has devised an exciting plot and an evil antagonist who causes a great many personal problems for Mia and Korum. But as the crisis for Mia and Korum unfolds, Zaires challenges you to take a look at society and wonder about the future of Earth in the face of population growth, diminishing resources, controlling government, burgeoning technological innovation and the importance of maintaining personal freedoms. Rarely do I pick up a science fiction romance that makes me think on so many different levels. Zaires offers much more than mere escapism in the Krinar world. In my review of book two, I had hoped that the relationship between Mia and Korum would mature, and it did, but in a wholly backward way that had me holding my breath on their chances for a happily ever after. Throughout the series, Zaire's penchant for a quick demise of central characters means a storyline can take a quick left turn and although I was rooting for Mia and Korum, I really didn't know what would happen to them. Bravo on this wonderful conclusion, Ms. Zaires!
In this third and final book Mia and Korum are living happily together in Lenkarda, we know from the prologue that this can't last, the last K traitor is still freely travelling the planet intent on carrying out his plan. Mia and Korum still have many obstacles to overcome if they're to find their happy ending. It's difficult to say more without giving anything away but this is a fantastic book, I decided to read Liasions and Obsession again before starting Remembrance and I'm so glad I did not only did it refresh my memory but it gave me a chance to get totally lost in these books. As always I loved Korum, again who wouldn't and the change in his character as a result of Mia is wonderful he becomes more human, I still had issues with Mia I found her naive and annoying at times then at others I appreciated how her character had matured but I must admit if I got to change anything about these books it would be her, something about her has irritated me in every book. This said I still loved these books, the story, the descriptions everything, wonderful series.
This was my favorite book of the series. It satisfies the paranormal nerd in me, while still delivering the romance. We are talking about sexy aliens here folks!
Different, yet very entertaining. I was thoroughly engaged in this other world, and the way it ended, I almost feel like there should be more to the story. I certainly want there to be more. Like hybrid babies or something. Or revenge, since plenty of the characters could want that. Who knows? I just like drama, so I'm open to possibilities.
Some things were a bit repetitive (sex scenes) and dragged out, but overall, I enjoyed the world that was created and felt like I was sufficiently immersed.
Surprisingly interesting read. I enjoyed the series and would recommend to paranormal and or Sci-fi lovers that enjoy romance interspersed with their reads.
Here we have Mia that stopped being too much TSTL! :D
I still have issue with this book: it's too perfect. I mean all the problems are solved in a too perfect way.
Korum becomes almost reasonable...
But at least I found out (finally!) who's the villain K. *wink*
I don't think I'll be reading more about this universe. Or, better, I might read if the stories become more grown-up. And no, I don't mean the sex part as grown-up! There's enough sex here as it is! LOL I mean more mature thinking MCs, more depth to the story as whole and less fairy-tale-like!
Argh i cant...if you read my other reviews on the other 2 books i'm not a fan of Mia, but i do love Korum, so if i readed until here is for him, this series is too long and there are to many sex scenes, to many repeated scenes from the other books and guess what?!?!!?!? Now she loses her memory and again all repeated , like wtf i don't know if to laugh or cry lol 🙈🙈🙈🤣 this is insane, again i skipped , i skipped , i skipped and my opinion its the same, i think she don't deserve him at all , she is to selfish , to distant , my god, she drives me crazy . This series could be really good if it was only maybe 2 books , without all the repeats etc...and when i think 3 books are just for 2 months i want to die 😥😅😅😅😂😂😂😂
Excellent. I just loved this final book for Mia and Korum (or is it?). I have enjoyed their journey as they went through their trust issues, betrayal and finally all consuming love. I just loved how the author gave us Korum's POV I think this really added to the book and helped us to see why he did what he did during the early days with Mia. Loved him completely as I understood his motives where Mia was concerned. Mia grew into a wonderful confident woman who thought things through and talked to Korum when she was in doubt. I loved the growth of her character. I hope the author continues to write books in this world.
I first found this author through her Twist Me series, which I very much enjoyed. I have to say that Mia and Korum reminded me a little bit of Nora and Julian, both in personalities and the way their situations began. Not cookie cutter at all but I think it would be fair to say that in these two series, there is a formula. However, that formula works, obviously, as I read all the books back to back, LOL!
The author's excellent writing and her ability to spin her story in a way that captures the reader makes the story genuinely enjoyable to read. Her blend of romance with an edge, danger, intrigue and action have definitely made me a fan!
I'm going to miss Mia and Korum's stories. It was just a real life fairytale came true. The ending of their story was perfect with the Elders agreed to her family to be immortal and young and officially be part of Krinar world. And the perfect ending that made me teared up was the Elders agreed it's time they share their amazing technology with the humans. Long life-span, a healthy nature world. Smh, this is the series that I wish it was real. I can't wait to read more Krinar. Huge fan here.
Muy entretenido, adictivo igual que los dos anteriores. Es un buen cierre para la historia de Korum y Mía, me sigue sorprendiendo la imaginación de la autora y lo bien construido que esta el mundo de los krinar.
