Mixed Doubles: A Romantic Affair

Rate this book
Will thought that Scarlett’s affair with her tennis instructor ended months ago, but her strange behavior makes him suspect otherwise. As evidence of Scarlett’s cheating mounts, Will discovers that he enjoys the thrill of Scarlett’s now very illicit affair: the casual lies, the deleted texts, the sneaking around. But there is much more to Scarlett’s renewed affair with Alessandro than meets Will’s eyes, and she may be in way over her head. Is there any way to untangle the delicious mess Scarlett has made, while salvaging the trust in their marriage?

SECOND READING AND REVIEW. 2025

When I read this book a couple of years ago I didn’t know there were two prequels to it. After reading those two I read this one again and have a completely different take on it.

Yes, there was still the cheating and lying but based on the other two books the context made it more palatable. Also, the characters are seen in a completely different light.

So I ended up enjoying this book as well as the first two. How interesting, huh? Therefore, changing my original three stars to five.

FIRST REVIEW 2023

I’m Conflicted

Well hell. What am I going to do with this review. Yes, I’m torn between Arnica’s skillful writing and storytelling and my feelings on the story itself.

So the three stars are about the story only.
I found it difficult to connect with or even like the characters. The wife was always on the cusp of cheating and deception. Yep, she went full bore lying, conniving cheat. And oh yah….upped her slut factor exponentially. Completely incongruous with her professional life and supposed love for her husband. (In most of her books Arnica has a problem convincing the reader of a deep love and connection between the couple).

The husband was an inconsistent partaker and instigator. Difficult to like him as well.

My big problem with the story was that
there was over a hundred pages devoted to her cheating and about three for her confession and meager apology. A couple of tears and a bj and then off to her next seduction. Definitely should have been more contrition, shame and repentance.

I’m sure many of you won’t have a problem with the cheating and lack of remorse by the wife but it’s a hard no for me.

Long but worth reading

Ms Butler is a master. The attention to details plus the breathtaking choreography of the adult scenes are impossible to put down.
She does have habit that she overdoes.
She describes a loving couple who have lost their spark.
Invariably, the wife is a closet submissive and the husband has a vanilla imagination.
She falls prey to a dominant male that captures her libido, and his voyeuristic fantasies.
It finally resolves after a symphony of angst. Hubby finally realizes that he too can Take her the way she needs to be dominated. Just because he can be inspired to become more dominant , doesn’t mean it can't be loving too.
To my eyes, this is a glorified Cuckold Tale.
If hubby wanted to intervene in her affair, he is smart enough to know how. He doesn't want to.

I wish more writers understood this fetish and captured like Ben Bosswells What’s Your Type, or Surrogate Master.
I hope she rediscovers the magic of Cuckold Therapy. To my eyes, that exemplifies all of her brilliance flawlessly.

This Is Okay But Not As Much Fun As The First Books

Although not listed as Book 3, it is a follw up on them and I think better read after them. However it is a stand alone story, if that’s what you want.

Nice story overall, but some of the parts seem a little too contrived. I’d prefer to have the ending occur more slowly and with more suspense.

But it was fun.

Excellent

Have to say it's been a great series. A shame it had to end but all done with great aplomb. Full marks to Arnica and here's hoping her next book arrives quickly. I,m missing the story already.

Very good tale. Well written with very few typos or grammatical errors. I didn't realize this was the third in a series until I got most of the way through it. It may have packed more of a punch for me had I read the others. Nevertheless, it was a strong story as a standalone.

Another great read by Arnica Butler!

This author has such a wonderful and naughty imagination. The twists never stop coming, and even the conclusion has a veneer of uncertainty.

While this is the third book in this series, it does stand on its own. It’s written from the cuckold husband “Will’s” perspective. Notwithstanding Hotwife Scarlett’s attempts to hide her indiscretions, Will is entirely up to speed and perhaps a little ahead of Scarlett.

In this installment, another couple is introduced to the action; Will’s boss Dan and his scheming wife Marie. As a result, the sex is spirited and the anxiety high.

The book rolls along really well; Arnica is an excellent writer. However, I found the conclusion a little weak. The final Hotwife scene was just ok and the final “confrontation“ between Will and the Bull didn’t ring true to me, but then again I’m not in the Bull Alessandro’s head.

If you like this genre of story, with a plot and interesting character development, I think you’ll like this intriguing erotic tale.

the third and best book in this storyline..i wasn't surprised at Scarletts [yet again] affair continuing with allesandro.but, what makes it worse now is as I suspected since the first book..Scarlett is now a full blown cheating lying nymphomaniac.who obviously shows no real respect for her husband anymore!
will and scarlett had always agreed on everything.and Will had by this time been fully cuckolded by Scarlett.and was as much involved in her affair as Scarlett but he had really started to lose control of her and her lovers blossoming affair!.but in this book, although she has [yet again told her husband its all over its getting to much].she is now into a more intense affair behind his back with her lover.[how many chances do you give her?].feeding him lies.but, unlucky for her her husband Will is one step ahead of her!.
I wont spoil anything further in this good solid read.although the tension does drop off pretty quick towards the end|!…...but you get the feeling it wont be long before Scarletts "engaged" with another guy who we meet in this book...with or without Wills blessing..definite 5 stars and great writing just slightly let down by the ending. I was expecting some kind of final twist.but it never came.

A Must read series.
The story continues as both Will and Scarlett become more devious and self absorbed. She is addicted to sexual domination & hard dirty sex and he is addicted to the cuckold angst, brought on by her audacious cheating. This is no longer an journey they are taking together.
The story takes a turn and we appear to have a final ending or do we?

Will and Scarlett Green trilogy

I have read all three in this series and can recommend them to anyone who likes extremely erotic novels. They are quite well written and full of suspenseful plots that will keep you guessing! I read them back to back and found them difficult to put down. But very naughty! Enjoy!
