Whips and Spurs and Murder

Rate this book
An epic kind of year There were times when I made truly bad choices in life, moments when I knew better but I just couldn’t seem to help myself. You know what I mean, right? How logic and common sense seem to diverge with the powerful urge to act despite the innate understanding such actions will likely get you into a world of trouble and may not, in the end, be worth it? And, despite knowing all that, no matter how much you work to convince yourself some things are better left undone, let go, abandoned you just can’t seem to allow yourself the freedom to be a good, normal person and simply mind your own business. Wait. Was that just me? Sigh. Yeah. Just me. Okay then. Fiona Fleming’s plans to sneak into the exclusive Patterson wedding are interrupted when she stumbles on yet another body. With Crew out of town and the sheriff’s department short staffed, Fee finds herself investigating alongside his former FBI partner, Elizabeth Michaud. While she does her best to solve the murder, she uncovers further mysteries around the ruling family of the cutest town in America. Don't miss a single volume in the Fiona Fleming Cozy Mysteries! I write a lot of paranormal books for someone who is afraid of the dark. And I wonder why I have to sleep with the lights on. Sometimes life is a teenaged B horror movie and I'm the one who investigates when the scary music is playing. But the voices are calling and resistance is… Yes. I am a Star Trek geek, too. And a fan of RPG’s. With a slight coolness factor since I've been told I'm allowed to join the pops.

Naw. I like being a nerdy girl :)

I love this series. To me it kind of seems like Gilmore Girls meets Murder She Wrote - a who done it mystery that takes place in a small loveable town with lots of quirky characters. This one however was not my favorite. Maybe because one of the characters I love was hardly in it. Also, this mystery didn't seem as interesting as some of the others in this series. Still a good series though, I'm disappointed it's almost over.

This one wasn't my favorite in the series but it had it's moments of glory, to be sure. Being a horse person, I was hoping for a bit (no pun intended) more "horsey" stuff. The mystery was good but the best part was the unraveling of a bigger mystery, an over-arching one, at the end. Perhaps Rosebert will get what's coming to them...Can't wait to see what happens next!

At this point I'm binge reading the rest of the series as fast as I can to see what exactly is going on with the Pattersons!
