After a thousand years of being a Vampire, I have seen and done everything, twice. And then a third time for good measure. I am demanding, a tad selfish, and a teeny bit vain. But at least I know my faults.
I love the men in my life, each in different ways. Together we must solve the puzzle of the mysterious prophecy that has been thrust upon us, but at what cost? The journey just might bring us closer together, not only in my dreams but in reality. Will I get to have everything that I want? Or will the truth only serve to complicate my already confusing life? Who knows?
This is my story. Expect trouble. It's my middle name.
A Paranormal Reverse Harem Series: Fast burn M/M/M/F *** Revelations: The Forever Series, Book 3 - Available now!
Eve is a USA Today Bestselling Author with a specialty for steamy romance with strong female leads.
She lives in the UK, with her husband and five kids, so finding the time to write is short, but definitely sweet. Eve has a number of series, both completed and on the go and hopes to release some new and exciting projects, both paranormal and contemporary in the future, so stay tuned!
So many flashbacks, cut-aways. I get the author trying to show vs tell the story but lots of the flashbacks weren’t necessary or the necessary bits could have been conveyed in a paragraph.
I just finished the series minus the spin-offs (I hate spin-offs) and overall there are some really unique aspects to this series. Things that are truly different in ways that make me dwell on them. I love books that make me dwell. So overall I am glad I stuck with this series. I almost stopped so many times. A lot of the individual books I truly didn't like but the overall story was really fascinating and well done to a certain extent.
Overall, each book in the series was over the top in drama and stupid things. The FMC starts out strong, assertive, driven etc. but quickly turns into anything but that. That really bugged me. She supposedly has a photographic memory, amazing martial art prowess, speaks many languages. But after book 1 she doesn't seem to figure out some of the basic ways that the people in her life are manipulating her. They are obvious.
One thing that really stands out with this series is that no character is safe. I have never come across this in other paranormal RH books. Throughout the entire series some of the men leave the situation. Which to be honest was never a true reverse harem. Each man is ultimately trying to get the FMC away from everyone else and have her for themselves. The men seem to treat her like a prize to fight over. It is pretty toxic.
I don't like how sex negative the series is. The FMC is commonly referred to as a whore because she is in a realtionship with more than 1 person. Everyone seems to think of marriage in a very patriarch/misogynistic viewpoint and she has to pick one.
If Telenovelas, the Bachelorette and Jerry Springer had a child it would be this series.
Quite possibly the reverse harem I like best out of all other reverse harem series I've read so far. Not surprisingly, I love the men. I love how devoted and affectionate they are all. And surprisingly, I love Liv! I love that she's the right combination of insecure and confident, compassionate and cold, innocent and ruthless. I like that she goes after what she wants. Okay well maybe I didn't agree with how she handled things about Cole at first, but I like that they all communicate with each other well (except with CK ugh I have a massive love/hate relationship with him)
Also, I don't know Fraser well, but strangely I like the little that I know of him. It's so sad that he's dead (not a spoiler because he's been dead since the first chapter)
I read this back in 2018 and pulled it out again. I've changed my rating from 5 stars to 4. There were so many "I Love You" on a page, page after page, that it became irritating. Took me a while to get through it, which is highly unusual for me.
This series has so many twist and turns that it really does my head in...what with all her men instead of getting along are just getting in the way...they all want her and yet hurt her and she being the paradox of mood swings hurts them back which just does not sit right with me...I read the whole series out of spite just to feed my curiosity or else I would have ditched it on book 5...hope you have a serious love for too much drama and jealousy or else this series is not for you...
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Cole blowing up on the protagonist and telling her he’s going to leave was off. Questioning her with things that could easily be explained off and there were some inconsistency.
The protagonist taking in Cole even though she has Devin and CK was sort of selfish. Forcefully making everyone else in the relationship accept it. Made me honestly dnf.
The story isn't bad though. The writing is good and all. Just some small things that I couldn't let go.
I would have loved it that she would not have got pregnant in her series if she had not getting pregnant I would read on the series but I’m sticking to The first and the second book was great but I’m stopping at this if you would have continued to serious without getting her pregnant I would have bought the entire book series
So I figured I would do a review of this series now that I have read all the books but obviously opinions change once you get a glimpse of the bigger picture.
I’ll cut to the facts: this series consists of 16 books and 2 spin off novellas that must be read in order. It’s a paranormal RH dark romance. It is explicit and contains MFM, MF & MM themes and it’s unique in a way that it doesn’t follow the same RH rules of most others of the same genre. It’s more of an open marriage than a polyamorous relationship. The men don’t particularly like each other nor do they like to share. They frequently try to manipulate or sabotage each other’s relationship with Aefer (which is consistent with her as well). They all like to play on each other’s jealousy.
As this is a paranormal series expect vampires, shifters, hunters and magick. The books are all highly action oriented there is something always happening - trouble finds the characters no matter what and their lies tend to get them in the thick of it most of the time.
There are a lot of grammar and spelling mistakes that pop up throughout each book and it does become tedious. Other than that they are well written and keep you wanting more. They have derived a lot of strong opinions from myself about the characters and their behaviours that I have often shouted in my head at them but otherwise good.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Intriguing but something is missing 🤷🏽♀️
I’ll just cut to the chase...
The book or series itself is listed as paranormal RH romance. The books don’t actually end on a cliffhanger but there is enticement enough to want to continue reading.
I like the fact that there is two books in one, I think had had they been seperate I wouldn’t have read the second book, having said that i am intrigued enough to carry on because I have this addiction to find out what happens next.
The characters are progressively developed as the story goes. The author uses flashbacks frequently through the book not only to give a greater understanding to the situation but also see how far the characters have come over the years.
I will say so far I’m not entirely convinced that this is a poly / RH relationship. Yes Liv has the attentions of her sire (CK), and charges (Devon & Cole) but all of them are jealous of something. I don’t feel that it’s a healthy relationship each are vying for Livs attention and although everyone knows that Liv is sleeping with each guy they are too selfish and jealous to actual accept each other in the equation. This also goes for Liv as she gets jealous and territorial over the many women Devon and CK take to bed as well (pot meet kettle ya know) I hope in subsequent book this starts to abate.
I rather enjoy Reverse Harem books. And I also enjoy Vampire books. By rights, I likely should have enjoyed this set more than I did--but for me, it was just an OK read.
I did like the way the back history of the main characters' long lives were given by flashback at appropriate times in the story. The way that the characters matured and changed throughout their history was interesting. The plot in this set is being established in a slow manner, interspersed with lots of hot sex.
However, the books need further proofreading/editing. Punctuation (or lack of) made the flow of the reading choppy. Cole (one of the Heroine's trio of men) had little going for him, other than being a very attractive movie star. Characters would appear, but would never be addressed or further explained (for instance, her 'sibling' or the older man, Cade). I'm sure that they're important to the storyline at some point (this appears to be a LONG series)--but waiting until another book of two has passed is too long to for my taste.
And my main complaint--I didn't care for the way either of the two books 'ended'. I like longer books that have some sort of resolution at each ending. So although I did think this was a decent read, I doubt that I'll continue with the series.
I liked the idea of an older female vampire, she seemed different and I was invested to see how would all of her differences translate into a badass story. Key points though: Sex is kind of boring but a lot. The books are definitely poly not reverse harem, her sire has other lovers, including pets in the dungeon, which are women there for his own pleasure and their pain, her charge - the man she turned around 500 years ago routinely has dalliances with women but of course, always comes back to her and in the end her new love - the human he is still set into being one-on-one with a woman so he kept being repeatedly blindsided with the truth of her lifestyle and men. To make the story more engaging I guess, she turns out to be a person in the middle of a big prophecy, she is to become the One whatever that means, the whole thing was boring, to begin with. I read these first 2 books but I don't plan to read more, I was skipping way more than I was enjoying the story.
I’ve always loved a good vampire story. Throw in some historical flashbacks and I’m hooked. The main thread of the story is extremely interesting, centered around Aefre and her sire and charges. I will say that for whatever reason, Cole drove me absolutely crazy and I am not a fan of his character. His constant need for reassurance, over the top jealously, need for control/rules, and whining turned me off his character. I think this is because I am more drawn to the Alpha males who are confident in their relationships. Aside from Cole, I thoroughly enjoyed the rest of the book. I love getting glimpses into Aefre’s life, and CK is just swoon worthy. I will certainly be looking forward to reading book 3.
I really enjoyed this book. It was full of so much suspense. I just loved it. I didn't want the story to end and can't wait for the next book. I liked how we were able to look back on different parts of her life as if we were there. This story is very original and different from other vampire books I've read.
I have very mixed feelings about this book. I really enjoyed the story and it was very well written, but I really hated the tension and jealousy from Cole. It also took me a while to warm up to Liv. I'm going to read the next book because I want to see where the story goes and I have my fingers crossed that Cole will stop being a jerk.
I loved this story and was really getting into it, even with the spelling and grammar errors that usually turn me off a book, but when the characters start calling each other by the wrong name mid-conversation that's a hard line for me. I still give it 3 stars because if the author makes corrections I would gladly give it another chance.
What a great story! I have a weakness for vampires and witches, the fact that they are combined here is really great!
I think it's great that the story of the characters in this story is told in a easy, natural way. It has an depht I didn't see coming. I loved every minute of these 2 books!
All right.. I did enjoy these two books. But holy buckets Cole is one annoying son of a hutt, so clingy.. And on top of that I felt it was a bit cliché.. The whole: "No she's mine!!".. sigh.. Oh well.. And I'm definitely a Team Constantine
I loved this book! It's all about vampires and that is what I was looking for. The characters are all exciting and sexy. I cannot wait to get book three.
