take me on a walk through stars we’ll light up the night with our own constellation brighter than the sun out of this world and out of our minds just two crazy kids madly in love with the whole universe.
Poignant, bittersweet, personal and hopeful, Starlight is a collection of poems and thoughts on themes of love, heartbreak, sorrow, beauty and other kinds of magic that surround us.

Beautiful collection of poetry that caters to the subject of love. Anyone, who has fallen in love or has gone through an heartbreak can easily relate to the poems. The author writes with searing honesty her experiences about love which makes the reader feel both happiness as well as pain. Definitely recommended collection.
Overall I thought this book was beautiful! It’s definitely targeted toward a more younger audience, but it has some relatable content in it for everyone. She pours out her heart across the pages and it almost feels like we have a peek inside her own personal diary.
Starlight is the first poetry book by Tamara Basic. There are several positive things to say about this book. First of all, the author writes well and is honest, with sometimes a touch of naïveté, in her poetry.
The poetic theme of the book is centred about the eternal triad of Love, Separation and Longing. The Search, the almost desperate need for the absolute requited romantic love, and the fear of the pain that indeed Love causes are the the trait d'union that run through the poetic storyline. There are also, clever little dialogues, comments and short fragments of a story every few poems. These cursives connect the poems pretty well and I did enjoy the choice and the style of these short interludes very much.
I found the style of the author and the openness, the genuineness of the poems, endearing indeed, and I even have somehow experienced a series of Proustian moments where my mind flew back to the faraway times of my youth with the early romances and heartaches.
Personally, I think this book will be enjoyed the most by young readers, whose experiences will be more easily reflected in the feeling and style of the poems, but there are gems that will be loved even by more mature readers, men and women alike. The author has obviously talent and I will be looking forward to read her future poetic efforts.
Tamara’s collection of vivid, indescribable poetry moved me in ways that I haven’t felt from other reads. She has a knack for being both poetic and conversational, transcribing the pains and triumphs of her written life by creating a way for the reader to relate with ease. You’ll see no attacking or undermining of lost flames here, no. You’ll see a humbled perspective that’s been accrued over time and experience, with a pair of eyes that simply adores the many magical wonders of the world. Well done!
I won't rate my own book, but I do hope that, if you stumble upon this collection and decide to give it a chance, you'll love reading it as much as I did writing it
