BRAND NEW SERIES! Cheryl and Jason Blossom are a pair of seemingly normal kids in Riverdale. They’re wealthy, popular and likeable—but they also harbor a deep, dark secret—one of the Blossom Twins is the Anti-Christ. Both want the title, and no one in Riverdale is safe.
Cullen grew up in rural North Carolina, but now lives in the St. Louis area with his wife Cindy and his son Jackson. His noir/horror comic (and first collaboration with Brian Hurtt), The Damned, was published in 2007 by Oni Press. The follow-up, The Damned: Prodigal Sons, was released in 2008. In addition to The Sixth Gun, his current projects include Crooked Hills, a middle reader horror prose series from Evileye Books; The Tooth, an original graphic novel from Oni Press; and various work for Marvel and DC. Somewhere along the way, Cullen founded Undaunted Press and edited the critically acclaimed small press horror magazine, Whispers from the Shattered Forum.
All writers must pay their dues, and Cullen has worked various odd jobs, including Alien Autopsy Specialist, Rodeo Clown, Professional Wrestler Manager, and Sasquatch Wrangler.
And, yes, he has fought for his life against mountain lions and he did perform on stage as the World's Youngest Hypnotist. Buy him a drink sometime, and he'll tell you all about it.
5 Stars! ★★★★★ WOW! This was great! Blossom 666 is technically an Archie comic but in different dimension where the characters are either hotter or more f#%ked up. The story, which takes place in its own continuity, focuses on twins Cheryl and Jason Blossom as they compete for the title of Anti-christ in this 5-issue mini series.
This is giving me total The Babysitter vibes and I'm loving it. Excited to see where this goes, right now it is just the typical "high school" thing with a little bit of the good ol' demonic worshiping weaved in.
Love the artwork and the panels. Red is definitely the signature color, but it is used in different ways.
While I quite enjoy both Archie’s universe and the artwork, I’m not sure I have digested the dark turn this series have gotten, same as with Sabrina. And, the Blossoms seem even worse than Sabrina, I think.
Yet another Archie Horror that hits the ground running! The art is pretty swell. The micro-engagements between the Blossoms and the rest of the Riversdale community are excellent. There's a looming horror in each of the conversations, even before we learn more about WHY the twins are interested in evil. Bunn's had practise with horror, and here it shines.
I hope the company, though, can get this out regularly.
I admit that the horror re-imagining of the Archie comics has both intrigued and annoyed me for a while. While I appreciate that they have finally let the world's oldest teenagers do something other than re-tread over 1950s jokes that were stale by about '54, I admit that a lot of the "gritty" remake stuff has been a bit less interesting for me. I should mention that I haven't hated anything as of yet but it hasn't really grabbed me as being that interesting or compelled me to read on. I want to state that this is only in the comics as I have never seen any of the television adaptations which I've heard different takes on. That said, this comic has me slightly intrigued but it's still running middle ground. I like that the twins are pretty sinister and I do enjoy the blending of mundane concerns like having enough soda for a party with the more diabolical concerns like being evil enough for their parents. It was pretty darkly humorous which I appreciated and I would have liked to see more of in the comic version of Sabrina that I read. Over all, I still don't know if I will be running out to grab the next issue but for what it's worth, I'm not saying I wouldn't give it a look just to see where it goes.
Blossoms 666 by Cullen Bunn is a new series this year set in the world of Archie in the town of Riverdale. Archie has been making some serious changes as of late, but with this new series, in the demented hands of Cullen Bunn, may just be taking us over the cliff!
Issue one of this new series introduces us to the newest inhabitants of Riverdale. The uber wealthy and very popular Cheryl and Jason Blossom. The teenage crowd vies for the opportunity to be seen and graced by the pair. When they decide to host a party, everyone attends and when the night begins to turn just a little on the dark side, only Betty has the sense to know when a game of truth or dare can go too far.
Because Cheryl and Jason Blossom aren't like the other kids. No they has a dark secret. Their parents are leaders of a satanic cult and one of the Blossom Twins, is the next Anti-Christ! What will they do to earn the title and whose blood will they spill?
Fans of the recent Sabrina the Teenage Witch comic and Netflix series are sure to love this need addition to the comic world. Sorry Archie, but there goes the nieghborhood when the Devil moves in!
Some of the art repeats itself and there’s a few color issues but all in all it’s a pretty simple start to the series. The style is cute and I found it engaging. The first issue only hints to what the plot of the series will be so it really doesn’t give you too much. Essentially we know that the kids are trying to recruit people at their pool party.

This is part of the horror series by Archie. Along side Vampironica, Archie undead, and Jughead the Hunger. Reading this really brought back fond memories of 2019. This was right when Riverdale the show was beginning to takeoff and right before the covid pandemic.
I wasn't sure what to expect from the latest archie horror. I love Cheryl on Riverdale, she's probably become my favorite character, so it was odd to see her go back to her pure evil roots. Also to see Jason being, not dead! It was alright but way too short! I think I'll get the graphic novel when it comes out but won't bother getting the individual ones.
This is the first book in the new series featuring the Blossom twins from Riverdale. Cheryl and Jason Blossom are wealthy, popular but they also have a huge secret. I don't want to go more into the story as to not spoil it but the illustrations are amazing and I highly recommend this book. I plan to read more from the series as they are released.
I would have liked to see this team either go bonkers into dark horror or bonkers into campy horror. Where we're left here is somewhere kind of ambiguous. Maybe we'll see this more defined in the next issue.
Off to an interesting start. I’m trying to leave the CW Riverdale storyline out of my mind when reading this. Cheryl taking up for the little guy? Also, seeing why Jason was likeable? Definitely a difference.
I didn’t know that Cullen Bunn had contributed to Archie Horror so I was really excited to read this. So far lots of setup without much else except that the “next issue” tag kind of spoiled what’s next…
The Blossoms, forever in conflict, and now one of them will soon become the Anti-Christ. But which twin? Archie Horror continues to thrill and I can never get enough Cheryl and Jason.
