18+ Only. This is an EROTIC BBW Romance. It includes graphic sex, graphic language and other subjects meant for mature audiences only.
J.S. Scott is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of contemporary and paranormal romance. She's an avid reader of all types of books and literature. Writing what she loves to read, J.S. Scott writes both contemporary erotic romance stories and paranormal romance erotics. They almost always feature an Alpha Male and have a happily ever after because she just can't seem to write them any other way! She lives in the beautiful Rocky Mountains with her husband and two very spoiled German Shepherds.
This was an average read for me. Very short so the story wasn't very detailed. Moderate steam. Sweet and safe. Pricey (IMO) for the page count.
-no cheating -no ow/om drama at all -no violence of any nature -instalove -assuming neither had been with others in the 6 months they weren't together but it wasn't actually clarified for certain - very disappointed that the was no epilogue at all
I needed a fun, quick and easy breezy book after my last two reads. I stumbled on this on KU and decided to give it a go - despite the murderous werewolf looking CGI hero on the cover.
There's no rocket science to this plot ; and expecting one from these kind of quick and steamy reads is just wrong. Molly is big - literally, as the title suggest she's a curvy girl who's had issues with self-esteem thanks to her mother and her constant badgering. She has a meet-cute with Devon, but he suddenly blows her off and she skydives into a ocean of self-pity and self-hate. A common trope of "Of course he doesn't want me - why would he?"
Devon is your standard CR quickie hero - he's superhot, superwhite, super-rich and super-endowed.
Devon was completely taken with Molly and her curves - because why not? But there was a misundestanding where he thought she was his brother's date and became all noble and honorable and crap. The plot basically is them coming together again after this mis-understanding and is a pretty quick read. I read it in about 2 hours with a few breaks for chores around the house.
If you're looking for something quick, simple and assured happy ending with some steam then you can give this a shot.
I just wish people chose better covers for their books. Ugh
I absolutely loved this short story...Molly was continuously told by her mom she needed to lose weight and that she would never find a man because she wasn't attractive. One can only be told things like this so many times before you start believing it. Devon and Molly met through Devon's brother, and it was love at first sight. Devon caught Molly on the patio during a party and gave into his lust and kissed Molly only to have his brother call for Molly and the kiss got interrupted. Devon avoided Molly the rest of the night because he felt guilty for having feelings for his brothers date. Molly was hurt by Devon avoiding her thinking it was because her weight repulsed him.
Seeing what these two went through to overcome Molly's insecurities was kind of sad...no one should feel the way Molly felt about herself. I can honestly say I hated her mother's character...she is so heartless with the way she treats Molly and I was so happy to see Molly stick up for not only herself, but her relationship with Devon to her mom and finally put her foot down.
I don't usually write reviews, but I had to say that this book touched me in a way that others book usually don't. I don't what it was, but I really felt something for the characters in this particular J.S. Scott book. This was incredibly well done and incredibly realistic to read. I've gone through similar things so it was hard not to secretly root for the character to stand up to her mother. I loved it.
Once of the most touching books I've read so far this year!
For a free read this was a very engaging BBW romance short. The characters were so very likable. Molly & Devon are star crossed alright. So, crossed all the wires are mislabeled. Molly has a mother from HELL who talks in her head even when she hangs up from their awful phone calls. She has her mother weight issue tapes playing in her head that Devon really has his work cut out for him if he stands a chance at winning her affections. This is a book that follows true to life with a HEA.
5 Star Kindle Unlimited Short Read Alright! Big girl not only got theme hot man despite what trash the mom talked about her weight and figure. Even better, he put ring on honey. Now it time to give the mom the what for because her man loves her just the way she is.
I LOVE Ms. Scott's books. Is great to FINALLY find a author who writes about REAL women instead of model like figures. The heat between Molly & her man is off the charts sexy. I could relate to her misgivings of being with a man with her having such low esteem. But the love he showed her made me smile :)
This was another great story by J.S. Scott. I loved that this woman who was constantly told that she was not pretty enough was able to find love. It was a great story about love, determination and happiness. I love J.S. Scott's writing and think everyone needs to read this.
Another short, sweet, read about a beautiful woman and her mother disparaging her everytime she calls her, about losing weight. Gah! Thank goodness for Devon who only sees her as the most beautiful and attractive woman he has ever met. After their initial meet up, 6 months prior, he mistakenly believes that she is his younger brother's date and he is heartbroken that his true love belongs to his brother. They meet 6 months later and the misunderstanding is cleared away, leaving Devon to finally devote his love for Molly. HEA!!! 3.5 stars****
Loved this story. Devon meets Molly when his younger brother brings him as a "date" to his parents anniversary party. He has an instant connection with her and kicks himself for kissing his brothers girlfriend. Devon fights his instant attraction to Molly and spends the months after the party trying to forget her, never knowing that Molly was only his brothers friend. The meet again when his brother plans to announce his engagement to Molly's best friend at a family dinner, that ends up being cancelled and only Molly and Devon weren't told, once he realizes Molly has not relationship with his brother, he will do anything to make her his... Molly has self-esteem issues triggered by her mother's constant berating about her weight, she can't see what the gorgeous Devon could possibly see in her, so it is up to him to make her see how beautiful she really is..
This is a sweet novella. I would love to see this story expanded into a full book- it could easily be done, as the author flashes forward in several places. I loved the characters and this left me feeling like I just read book report on an amazing romance :) My plea to the author, give us more with this same story and these same characters! I will definitely be looking for more stories by this author!
What is a plus size girl to do when you have a mother who does nothing but hassle you about the size of your body all of your life. Poor Molly Whitney picks up the phone to yet another call from her mom telling her if she would only have lost some weight it would be her getting engaged that night to Dylan Richards instead of some other girl. Well, Dylan is her best friend and she fixed him up with Lauren hoping they would hit it off and of course they did. Besides she has a thing for Dylan's brother Devon who she thought might have a thing for her but if only for a little while.
Devon thinks his brother is getting engaged to Molly and he can barely stand going to the dinner that is planned. He has been in lust with her for so long and he acted on it one night at his parents house at a dinner party. Then he realized Molly was Dylan's dinner date and he left. He treated her badly afterwards thinking he was poaching his brother's girlfriend. Not realizing they were only best friends.
This is Devon and Molly's love story and also we learn how Devon teaches Molly to stand up for herself. I really like this book! Lots of really good advise in this book for us plus or curvie girls.
Free download. This was a quick read which covers a very important issue with woman who have self esteem issues. Molly has serious issue thanks to her mother constantly asking her why she hasn't lost weight, she won't get a man if she's fat etc. 6 months ago a friend of her's, Dylan took her to his parents for dinner where she met Devon, Dylan's older brother. They shared a mutual attraction but a misunderstanding leads Molly to have her feelings hurt so she's avoided Devon since then, but unfortunately Dylan's engagement means coming face to face with Devon again. Devon feels ill thinking his brother is marrying the woman he has feelings for, that is until he realises that Dylan is marrying Molly's best friend instead, so he has no intention of missing his chance again but will she believe his intentions or will her own insecurities get in the way. This was a very quick read which I really enjoyed. It covers a subject which most woman can relate to. The story, plot and writing were good. The characters were good, the angst is present but the romance makes this a real feel good story. The sex scenes are hot and were great to read, overall a great quick read.
I loved Molly's character in this one. She is a plus sized beauty yes. But this story isn't really centered around that. She has body image issues (which are thanks to her mother dearest). Her mother propagated in her throughout her life. I identified with her in the sense that she somewhat berated herself over them. She is basically all of us females without the comfort and support of a loving mother. But she is healthy and that's all that matters. She works out. So it really doesn't matter ash long as your fit. Size does not equate fitness. Ok back to the subject. It takes sweet forceful Devon in all his hotness to burst the isolationist protective bubbles that she has formed. It's her survival mechanism. He is in love with her. At first it couldn't be because he thought that Molly was with his brother but he was dissuaded and he's decided to pursue her like a dog with a bone that he does not want to let go. I liked that he blackmailed her into the first date. It was funny. I loved that he treated her with dignity and respect throughout the their courtship. Which led to a steamy yummy tryst. I loved that she confronted her mother. She matured mentally in that area.
This is the first book by J.S. Scott that I have read and I will be hunting down more! It was nice to read about a full-figured woman as the main love interest and not your traditional type of woman. Molly knows that she has self-esteem issues thanks to her mom's thoughts on her weight all her life. Devon Richards is a sexy, archetict who thinks Molly is a sensual, beautiful woman and he would love to spend more time with her. He is devestated when he believes that she is dating his little brother. When he finds out that they are not together, he realizes that nothing is going to stand in his way of making Molly his. Their story is a nice case of the full-figure girl getting the hot man in the end.
I was not a fan of the manipulation that he used to get her to go on a date with him. However, I am a full-figured woman and I know how hard headed and stubborn we can get. My husband tells me that he would have probably pulled the same kind of stunt to get me to go out with him!
"It had taken the love of a good man to help her see that beautiful was more than just a body or a face. It was a feeling and the way that she felt inside."
Just like the previous 2 books in this series, this book shows you that beautiful is not always all about outward appearance. Although this story is beautiful too, but I feel lil bit boring. That's why I only give it 4 stars.
This series is a good choice for people who have low self-esteem like me LOL. Because it will help you to open your eyes (and mind) that everybody has their own insecurities, but when you meet the right person, you'll just forget about your insecurities and accept who you are, because the right person can make your insecurities become your confidence :)
I loved this short story couldn't put it down. All her life Molly's mom always made her feel bad about her weight, telling her that if she doesn't lose wait no man would want to be with her. When Devon met Molly it was at his parent's party and he really liked her that he kissed her, but he thought that she belong to his brother Dylan. Molly felt heart broken because later on Devon just ignored her made her feel that he just played her. Molly was nervous because she was going to see Devon after six month because she was going to her best freinds Dylan & Lauren's engagement party. When Devon saw Molly walk in to the restaurant where the party was going to be held he still thought she was beautiful. Molly saw Devon walking toward her and notice that he was drunk, he told her that the party was canceled. When Molly corrected Devon that she was not with Dylan, Devon then black mailed Molly into going out with him because if she didn't he would tell Lauren a big lie about her and Dylan.
Again, I had the same problem with this whole series, so here is the copy/paste of the previous two reviews:
This book had GREAT potential, but it was squandered on being MUCH TO SHORT! This book needed to be a novella, at least. There should have been more build up to the BOOM. I liked that the heroine was BBW, and that the super sexy hero was in love with all the curves, but I wanted to see more of the push pull, the building tension. It was just too short for it to feel...satisfying.
Omg I can’t believe I actually read these. They all had same tired storyline, the weight issues the poor me mentality. The guys were a bit over top. I felt bad for Molly because of that dreadful mother she has, always making her feel inferior. I’m glad she finally stood up for herself. Devon was a bit of a Neanderthal at times.
