I'm from Louisiana. Currently trying to escape again ;) I love writing sweet romance stories with a bit of spice. I love to drive...with the music blasting and the bass thumping. I absolutely adore the Oregon coast. I like people but I'm shy...and then you get to know me and wish I'd shut up. If you think you've seen me on here under a different name, you have. I have a main page where I tried (not so successfully) to integrate all of my me's...and then there is my alter-ego who writes A LOT spicier. They're all me. I'm on my friends list, too. Confused? This is the 2nd book I've read written by CL Rowell; she has done an great job at writing a good book; I will definitely be reading more of her books.

The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.

I received a copy of this book from voracious readers and I instantly fell in love with this book. I loved how such an interesting plot was understandable and easy to enjoy in such a simple way. I really liked how Aubrey and Jonathan worked together in their relationship. I liked that the relationship wasn't cliché and forced, it was natural and unique in its own way. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who likes romances.

A cute easy flowing read that grabs your attention right from the start with bits of naive sassiness dry humour that keeps you thoroughly engaged needing to turn the pages. Engrossing twists that are emotionally charged and lust filled chemistry with a side of heat! A well written must read that will keep you engaged and entertained with a quick wrap up enjoyable HEA!

This is a short well written and enjoyable read. I like the storyline and plot. The characters are developing nicely through the story. Nice chemistry. It is written in dual POV which gives the reader more of the feelings and thoughts of the main characters. It has a balanced amount of steam and story.

Aubry and her friends were shopping and she goes to use her card and declines that’s when she sees a Handsome guy that offers to buy her stuff that turns out to be a guy named Jonathan but who is this man and why does he know her father? Loved reading this and can’t wait for the next book.

Aubry is the first in the Love or Money series by C.L. Rowell. Although Aubry is part of a series, I believe that it can be read as a standalone novella. This has been on my to-be-read shelf for a while. It was one of the first books I requested to review. I struggled with this book, for me, the pacing and depth of the characters lacking. While I didn't particularly enjoy this book, I do think that it would appeal to some. There were just some issues that I personally was unable to overlook.

As mentioned before, I had some issues while reading Aubry. I didn't really enjoy the author's writing style and the pacing of the storyline. It's hard to explain my reasoning without giving away too much of the story. At the start of the book, Aubry is supposed to hate Jonathon, but after a couple of weeks (maybe a month), she loves him. During this time, Jonathon has pretty much avoided her as much as possible. There wasn't enough interaction between the characters for it to be believable that their relationship had any development. The reader doesn't get the opportunity to see the character relationship develope and grow. While this book is a novella, so it is shorter, I have read other books that didn't have this issue.

I had high hopes for Aubry, but for me, this book fell short. I hate giving a book any bad review. I don't believe that this is a bad book, I just had some issues with it. I think some people will definitely enjoy this book. For me, though, I wanted more character depth and development, and a storyline that seemed more believable. I probably won't be picking up the next book in the series.

Jonathon finally has the upperhand that will let him get close to the girl he had a crush on as a teen. After taking care of her fathers debt and arranging her in payment for doing it things start going his way.

Aubry's dad has a gambling addiction, probably since his wife passed, and it's causing him to owe his worst enemy/ex best friend. Aubry in turn has to offer herself to get her father out of trouble and out of her home.

I think the beginning of this story was mostly good, maybe a little out there but good. The rest of the story once we got them on speaking terms was sort of a blur.

I was hoping for more steamy scenes, and more content dialgoue between the two. So it was very instantlove. Still a cute short story just not really my cup of tea. I prefer mine more in length and not so rushed as if it's a car in the indy500.
