Normally, ghosts make Shaggy want to curl up small to hide. But that won't help him this time--not when the Atom shrinks Scooby and the gang down for a trip to a haunted subatomic world, where they'll face "The Ghost at the Heart of the Atom!" Then the gang finds out that the Legion of Super Heroes' clubhouse is haunted, and even these superheroes can't save themselves without the help of Scooby and the gang.
Tune into this latest volume of Scooby-Doo Team-Up to find even more bizarre and groovy stories! This Vol. 6 includes appearances from the Atom, Atom Ant, The Legion of Super Heroes', the Birds of Prey (Batgirl, Black Canary and more), and the gang even take a trip to Jellystone Park and run into Ranger Smith, Yogi Bear and Boo Boo! Jump in the Mystery Machine and join the gang as they travel through the DC Universe and Hanna-Barbera lands to solve mysteries and encounter monsters and ghosts!
His credits run the gamut from Superman to Star Wars to Scooby-Doo, and from Clive Barker’s Hellraiser to Looney Tunes. His comics for kids have won a Comics Buyer’s Guide Fan Award, and been nominated for an Eisner Award and two Diamond gem awards, while several of his stories for older readers were included in the #1 New York Times bestselling graphic novels Action Comics.
Scooby-Doo Team-Up volume 6 contains issues #31-36 of SDTU.
At present, this is the last volume of Scooby-Doo Team-Up I own and it is a humdinger!
In this volume, Fisch takes them through more obscure corners of the Silver Age DC universe. The gang teams up with The Atom, Atom Ant, Yogi Bear, The Legion of Super Heroes, the Birds of Prey, and a host of comedy characters including Angel & The Ape and the Inferior Five.
Dario Brizuela flexes his drawing muscles in this, serving up a nice Silver Age version of the Legion of Super Heroes and more comedy characters than you can shake a stick at, like Jerry Lewis, Bob Hope, and the Monkees with the serial numbers filed off, plus Sugar and Spike, Stanley and his pet Monster, and lots of others. The only story in this collection that I wasn't thrilled about was the Yogi Bear one. The rest were dynamite.
It's a shame the series that shows the most love for the DC Universe isn't part of the main line or even published anymore. Scooby-Doo Team-Up Volume 6 is my favorite volume in the series so far. 4 out of 5 Scooby Snacks.
Another volume of this fantastically fun series! The SDTU books are a great way to revisit your childhood. Lots of characters who you would never expect SD to have anything to do with! It makes these stories lots of fun. Give a couple issues a try; I think you will become a fan after you finish your first adventure!
As with the last few volumes, the superhero stories are fun and the stories that feature Hana Barbara's silly animal characters are less interesting. The superheroes that are featured here are the Atom, the Legion of Superheroes, and the Birds of Prey. If you're a fan of one of those properties, this is worth picking up. If not, you can give this volume a pass.
Miss 4 really enjoyed this - she loves Scooby Doo! It was a lot of fun to read together as it's aimed at younger readers. The Scooby Gang are called on for help by various superheroes to help them solve mysteries (with all the usual fun of revealing that ghosts are actually....!) There's some nice amendments added for female readers - Daphne can do some martial arts and she has a great line where she yells to Fred, 'See Fred, this is why I don't wear heels!' (as they run from the latest monster).
The book is collection of short comics with a mix of DC superheroes/villains and cartoon characters from the '80s. Some of these include Atom Ant, Yogi Bear, The Atom, Bat Girl, The Legion of Superheroes.
Miss 4 and I like to explore different books and authors at the library, sometimes around particular topics or themes. We try to get different ones out every week or so; it's fun for both of us to have the variety and to look at a mix of new & favourite authors.
I think I'd give this book a five if only for using Inferior Five, a Silver Age superhero parody I love (the same story also uses most of the cast of DC's other Silver Age humor books). There's also subatomic ghostbusting with the Atom, futuristic ghostbusting with the Legion of Superheroes and teamups with Atom Ant and Yogi Bear. Despite the Hanna-Barbera teamups usually being the weakest part of any of these collections, these work — possibly just because I have more nostalgia for Yogi than I do Top Cat or Secret Squirrel.
Fun stuff as always with Sholly Fisch and the Scooby-Doo gang. Best part was the team up with the Silver Age Legion of Super-Heroes as they confront the ghost of Ferro Lad. Another highlight is an issue that stars so many of DC's Silver Age C and D list characters like Angel and the Ape, the Inferior Five, Stanley and his Monster, and the Maniaks.
Yes this is for kids, but more entertaining than a lot of comics these days.
Another pretty cool volume of Scooby-Doo teaming up with iconic DC heroes and Hanna-Barbera characters. In this volume the team ups include Batgirl & The Huntress, The Atom, Atom Ant, Yogi Bear, The Inferior Five, and The Legion of Super Heroes.
This one is wild. At one point Yogi Bear shows up and there’s a panel where he asks Velma if she believes the US government engages in discriminatory hiring practices while he’s trying to steal a picnic basket.
