I didn't finish this one because I really think it's aimed at gymnasts, only--it was all gymnastics all the time, and most of the terms weren't explained. It was also predictable, so I felt safe in not finishing it. Thanks to Libro.FM for a free educator copy of the audiobook.
This was one of my favorites from the whole series because of the themes of hard work, family, and dedication. The characters are fun and cute. Enjoyable read!
I’m reading this series in a book club-type of way with my niece, Madalyn, an aspiring gymnast. As a former gymnast myself, this series brings back so many memories and it so true to form. I feel like I’m back in my meets right alongside, Carmen, Paige, Trista, Savannah, and Marissa. What a joy Score Out was to read! The thrill of getting your skills and scoring well at meets is an exciting part of the sport and Melisa Torres does a phenomenal job describing it all.
