This has been an excellent addition to my devotional time over Advent and the 12 days of Christmas. I've long been a big fan of Charles Wesley's Hymns, and the Author has combined them with appropriate Scripture and Reflection, to make this quite a worthwhile devotion.

Good devotional grounded in Wesleyan theology. A little different than most advent devotionals in that it goes through the twelve days of Christmas, giving each day a theological connection. The included selections by Charles Wesley are great. As most of them are not in modern hymnals, it's nice that Chilcote includes suggested tunes.

This is a great book to return to year after year at the Season of Advent. It's reflections of the texts of Wesley Hymn and Poetry texts draw out the best of the Season leading up to the celebration of the birth of Jesus, the Son of God revealed in human form.
