Her mission was simple: Gather as much intelligence as possible to find planets and people who would welcome the Matavei.
Matav was too close to their sun, the radiation levels rising dangerously higher with each passing year. If a new home is not found, her people and their way of life will cease to be.
Eager to serve, eager to explore, Iliara steps into the stasis pod which will house and protect her physical body, while she opens her etheric eyes to the wonders of the universe.
For hundreds of years, Ilaria has traveled unseen through the stars, visiting planets and people, gathering intelligence and alliances.
Her Awakening, the moment in which her consciousness returns to her physical body, was supposed to be a gentle, painless experience.
Instead, Ilaria Awakens to find herself a slave, and her people long gone.
Intended for mature audiences only. Awakening is the first in a SERIES. It can be read as a standalone novel, but it is recommended by the author that you read the SARAZEN SAGA prior to the Etheric Traveler's series. M/F/M No cheating, violence, or fights between partners. As is her way, the author labels this book as a HAPPY FOR NOW, as this is a SERIES and will not have a HEA, as there is no end in sight.
I just wanted to let the folks know that I don't very often find myself on the ol' Goodreads site. I have too many social media accounts to keep up with and a new website.
If you have questions about books, updates, or want to share what's on your mind, you're better off hitting me up via email or Facebook. Or visiting my website!
I've read this book after Sarazen's Fury, but, even if this one tells a separate story in the same universe, it end where Sarazen's Fury begins, so it would have been better to read this one first!
I'm not into menage stories and I started reading this one without knowing that it was one of those, but I liked it very much all the same. The fact that Ilaria ends having two mates (or Chosen as they're called here) didn't bothered me much. It was tastefully done and actually didn't involve more than voyeurism. But it involved a lot their feelings and love each felt for the other.
Remaing on that tune, I found very unlikely that a strongly alpha male will accept another male with his woman, but it's an author prerogative to think things differently from me! ;-)
The idea of a race that goes aroung the galaxy for centures in their astral form is interesting and I liked how Ilaria was described and also the idea of that race's metamorphosis to race they're most near to was unexpected in a very good way!
I'm looking forward to other books in this series!
Every single book she writes is a work of art. She is my one stop shop for everything I want in a romance book. The ONLY author who has not relied on overused tropes and characters. The heroines are always the stars of the show and I freaking LOVE IT!!!
Cannot wait for the next one!
Safety: This is MFM romance Completely safe from outside cheating Physical abuse in the form of the heroines captures. No Sexual abuse

Isabel Wroth has an amazing imagination! Some of my favorite romantic Sci-Fi reads have been her books. "Awakening" is a sort of companion story to "Sarazen's Betrayal" Book 3 of the Sarazen Saga series (which I highly recommend). It's the book where we first meet Iliara when she is in her incorporeal from and is helping Cassie, the human she meets. In "Awakening", we find out what happened to Iliara as she is awakened too quickly to find herself a slave to an evil race of Mystresses who feed on pain and fear. These baddies were seriously evil villains and I was a little disturbed to read some scenes of their torture and violence.
The story of Iliara and her escape from Myst, and her mission to save her people make up the plot of this story. There is also an MFM romance (which didn't really interest me tbh. The romance was my least favorite part of the book.) This is a great continuation of the series with possibilities for more sequels in Iliara's world.
The book is a complete story, but does end on a mild cliffhanger, giving you a taste of the next book in the series. The story continues, but with new MCs.
Sigh this hit my buttons for an emotional love story. Loved the MC. Good story telling. Negative was that it's on the novella length I prefer when this author releases longer books.
I LOVED THIS BOOK! I very rarely give out 5 ratings. The three main characters pulled at your heartstrings from the beginning. 20% in and I was in love with them. Ilaria was admirable and brave in how she dealt with how she was awakened, her physical and mental pain, the loss of her home world, being exposed to radiation which changed her looks completely, and her overall horrible predicament. Of course she was upset in the beginning but she bounced back. She knew she had bide her time and gather her strength. How she was able to stay positive and hopeful was beyond me. She was so patient and kind hearted with others.
My heart broke for Aley. He was tortured, scarred horribly, castrated, and had been a slave his entire life. He healed by taking other's injuries into himself which was painful. Yet, he still had gentleness, kindness, and sympathy. How he tried to protect, strengthen, and sooth Ilaria to the best of his ability warmed me. I loved how they healed each other mentally and physically.
My heart also broke for Satesh. His two brothers were tortured and murdered and he had to see their bodies as the evil queen Margen threw it in his face with enjoyment. I liked how he got his revenge sneakily. He destroyed their cities, killed the queen, and freed the slaves. He was soooo bad ass. On top of that, even with all that he had gone through he still was caring and not jaded. He also protected Ilaria the best way he could.
It was nice to have such wonderful heroes/heroines. I appreciated that neither were man whores. I get tired of books were the aliens screw everyone in their village and their mate has to accept it and are often a virgin. Bleh. I hate doormat women which Ilaria was not. I also liked they didn't play the hot and cold games. They were honest with their feelings. All 3 mc's were so awesome, I hope they don't ruin me for the next book I read.
I know the next book is about the characters in Sarazen's hunt but I hope more books come out about Satesh's crew... The author did say at the end of the book that the sweet, innocent, empath hybrid who was tortured will get one. yaaaay. This is my favorite book from this author

I am sad to say I was disappointed in this book as I love the Sarazen sage SOOOO MUCH!! After her role in Callie's story, I was very curious and scared for Iliara but even though the action was there, it was not told in a way that made us part of it. It was more like telling a tale after it happened and then most of the book was about dialogues between the characters. It is the same way for the relationship between Iliara and her Chosens, we are told about it but not much actually happens.... It left me feeling really out of the story, out of touch with the characters and disappointed unfortunately. However, I love the contact with the Sarazen world and the little sneak peaks into the very rich alien universe that I can wait to read more about. Also a lot of suspens and intrigue about the next Sarazn book which I really can't wait for!!!!
I came back to read this after reading the other series first. It seemed logical at the time. But now I'm trying to remember the whole back story as its been some weeks since I finished that series.
I really enjoyed this book, the characters are amazing, the story n plot really interesting initially and writing is great.
My only problem is mid way it just lost its way and frankly became meh, boring and lost the plot literally. The whole book became a mills n boon mulch mush fest and I kept thinking give me more plot!! Hence it lost 2 stars. Its almost like she forgot amidst all the love and romance there needed to something else to carry the book.
So in truth this was disappointing for that reason. The weakest story wise of all the books I've read by this author.
I really don't know where to start. First I hardly ever leave reviews and don't really Care for M/F/M, HOWEVER this was a book that will have you on the edge of your seat and yelling for the author to hurry up and write another so the story can continue. Ilaria finally gets her story and what a story! Pain, vengeance, love, what family is really about, Tugs at your heartstrings as you see it through different eyes. The could've, would've, should haves, trying to move forward each experience was Amazing, funny, tearful and ohhhh, so worth the wait. Hands down her BEST work!
I've read all of the Sarazen series prior to this book and I was on the fence about if I wanted to allow myself to get into this world too much and I am glad that I did. This is a very well written and told story leading us into the life of another character that we wanted to know more about while staying true to and continuing the original storyline, making it all connect and leaving tidbits to keep on edge and wanting more........ I'm hooked and awaiting more.
Tossed it back at 16%. While it seemed interesting, I was extremely disappointed the two brothers were harmed and felt at the beginning those are the two she should have ended up with since this turns into MFM apparently. While there seemed to be some upcoming action in the book, it was missing that spark to hold my interest. And I wasn’t really into the fact the female is an alien (not human) and that the two H’s were not Sarazens. I was under the impression by the tilting of the book including Sarazen the males would be. But they are not.
4,7 stars An amazing story that does justice to Ilaria that was part of Cassie's story It starts a bit dark, slavery, pain, and fear are no joke. However it is a great background for Aley and Ilaria, they bond in a way that is more soul to soul than physically and it was beautiful. Then Satesh enters the pic with all of his anger and grieve and makes the story even better A different kind of menage Looking forward to reading more of these series
Overall the story was good. Decent length, good plot, good characters. But for some reason I just feel like something was missing. I absolutely loved the others in the series, but still somehow felt something was missing from this one. Maybe because they are both aliens this time? Does that make me a speciest? If that's even a thing. Ha ha. I look forward to the next one though and will keep buying and reading the series. This just fell short.
First instalment from this spin off/intertwined series. Continuing on with Ilaria who we met in the Sarazen series. Ménage sci fi romance that again includes all the wonderful world building and story telling that the author is known for....including those plot extended endings 😈😈🤣🤣
I really enjoyed the story and am looking forward to hearing more about the mutated Mutavi and their individual stories.
So glad I finally took a leap and read the Sarazen books! I'm ashamed to admit part of the reason it took me so long to read is the covers didn't do anything for me, but Isabel's stories are so wonderful! Just enough action, mystery and romance in a amazingly developed sc-fi universe! Thank you Isabel, you've inspired me to truly not judge books by their covers, lol!
How? Why? The Sarazen story at the end just made it worse. I have mixed feelings about this book because Ilaria took on human form and we still don't quite know how this helped her in restoring her people. Can't wait to see how this works. Come on Isabel we need the next book.
I liked it, the tension between aley and ileria and satesh was a nice backdrop to the bigger story of an advanced species searching for salvation in a new home... The story is so full of emotions that the cliffhanger ending just feels right.
I was so excited to see this available. I really hope to see more sooner rather than later. I love the Sarazen series and really enjoyed the new side characters. More please!
I was really disappointed with this book. The blurb sounded so good, and the book started off so well, but now it seems to be all about her reverse harem and of course sex makes her more powerful. I feel like I was misled, like Laurell K Hamilton did to me:/
Really enjoy reading this book, can't wait for the next installment, I like that the author gave us a glimpse of what is to come next ,will definitely recommend this book to my fellow readers.
Have really enjoyed this book. I have read the Saracens series and think I read this out of order but am glad I found it because I really wanted to find out what happened to her
This storyline is "jumpy." I am not sure what happened but I had a very hard time following what was happening and I could not connect with these characters.
This is another story I was eager to read about and once again exceeded all my expectations. It was so amazingly good. Now I am off to nurse a series book hangover because this is the last Sarazen book out as of now. I can't wait to get my hands on more of these stories.
