Lucia Marcello is the good girl—or she used to be. The youngest mafia principessa of her family, she's not the one who falls for the man from the wrong side of the tracks, and she certainly shouldn't have run across the country with him.

She'll leave everything behind for him …

Renzo Zulla is the bad guy—society and life labeled him that way. The only person left to take care of his siblings, he couldn't afford the distraction of falling in love with a rich girl far beyond his league, and he definitely shouldn't have her riding shotgun as he runs for his life.

He doesn't want her anywhere else …

Love keeps them together.
Fear keeps them running.
Chaos follows them everywhere they go.

How long can they keep moving before someone finally catches up?

The cost of love is always high.
Never harbor it blindly.

Note: Harbor is book two in a three-book trilogy following the same couple.

"There was no other way she'd want to spend her night."

Harbor is the second book in the Renzo + Lucia Series. This series must be read in order. Following the explosive first book in the series Privilege, Renzo and Lucia find themselves on the run. With Diego, Renzo's little brother, Lucia, and Ren are running for their lives. Lucia's mafia family is looking for them and law enforcement is not far behind. The only thing holding them together is their love.

description
"He pulled out of her then, and she felt him kneel down at the edge of the bed. His hands spread her ass cheeks open while his mouth found her sex. She came while he ate her out from behind..."
Told in multiple POV, Harbor is an action-packed contemporary romance with passion, suspense, and complex characters. The stakes are high for Renzo and Lucia as their adversaries will do anything to bring them down.

Overall, Harbor is another Bethany-Kris winner that will keep you on the edge of your seat the entire read. Be forewarned, Harbor ends on another cliffhanger and believe me when I say book three could not come soon enough!

Harbor threw me for a bit of a loop. See, no matter their age, BK's heroes have always been just that .... a hero, albeit a dark, brutal and dangerous one at times given the world they live in. They're smart, wily, cunning as a fox and always come out on top. Till now. Renzo was none of those. I get he was just a kid of 20 but oh my god! Some of the idiotic decisions he, and by extension Lucia, took left me gobsmacked at times.

I found the first 2/3rds of the book slow going at times with Ren and Lucia being on the lam. They just seemed to be spinning their wheels and not getting anywhere except digging themselves deeper into the crap. A friend mentioned Bonnie and Clyde and why yes, that's just what it's like and given the Marcello wealth, power and resources just didn't make sense to me. Lucia knew better what her family could and would do to protect her.

Then .... we get to Lucian and I went from loving him to being so damn disappointed in him and not liking him very much at all. He's got a way to go to redeem himself, that's for sure.

But, when the story kicked it up to the usual BK level for the last 3rd of the book just ... WOW! Fantastic, back to gut in knots, tears and the FEELS. Gah! I am so glad I waited till all three books had been published because this one ends on one doozy of a cliffhanger and I'm going straight on to Contempt to inhale that.

5 “Where You Go, I Go” Stars

As we begin, the story picks up where Privilege ends. Lucia and Ren are on the run. But being on the run is not for the faint of heart. Ren does what Ren needs to do in order to keep Diego save and with him. He makes choices that will never end well for the three of them but what choices does he have. He must do what he must. Lucia wants to be no where else than with Ren and Diego. She knows her family and their determination to get her back will eventually come to a head. But putting it on the back burner is easier than to talk about the inevitable. All Lucia knows is that she loves Ren and Ren loves her- Ride or Die......where you go, I go.

As you read this story, you know that you are heading for a crash. There really is no way to avoid it. You know that it will be ugly and painful. Lucia’s family is ruthless and powerful but Lucia will soon learn just what that means.

This second book was filled with grit and determination. It was also filled with a deep passion. Love can be destructive and all consuming and when you are running from danger it gets very complicated. But through it all- Lucia and Ren forge a bond that no matter the outcome, it will transcend time. Their love is deep and profound but it will be filled with trials and tribulations.

The last part of the book is heartbreaking. Lucia harbors much contempt for her father and brother. As a parent, I know how sometimes you act out of fear when your child’s welfare is threatened. I see both sides and how both did wrong things. So much as transpired......can she ever see past her hurt and rage for them? Will she ever see Ren again? Will she ever feel whole again?

Book 3 can not come soon enough. I’m hoping for forgiveness and healing of hearts for everyone.

I’m loving this series and these characters but...

I felt the first half of this book wasn’t quite as good (for me anyway) as the previous one. Once it really got going (well into the second half) then it was fabulous and I couldn’t get enough.

I absolutely love Ren. He’s been dealt a terrible hand but he’s just got on with it. He’s done whatever was needed for his brother and sister.

Lucia. I like that she loves Ren so much. It’s hard to imagine with her money that she couldn’t have sorted something out. But I suppose this had to play out.

Lucian again disappointed me so much. Especially early on. I thought he would have trusted his daughter to the extent where he would check out the guy she’s fallen in love with. Find out what’s special about him.

It’s straight onto Contempt for me now.

3 Estrellas!

If there are any errors or misspelled words, it's just because it's hard to see through the tears the end of this book caused. Can you tell how much I loved this book because... OMG. I didn't even want to sleep while reading this book. I savored every moment of it, every page.
Renzo and Lucia, and little Diego, dug their way even deeper into my heart.
The highs and lows of their time together both made me smile and made my heart squeeze with worry and sadness. But always, always when Lucia and Renzo could steal a few moments moments together and just reaffirm their love to one another... Goodness I lived for those moments. I lived for every kiss, embrace, gasp and moan.
They were the very definition of ride or die. Wherever one went, the other followed, no matter the situation or danger. They were willing to sacrifice it all for each other and I don't think I could've rooted for them any harder.
And always, Renzo's love for Diego punched me in the gut. He is that little boy's dad in every sense of the word except biologically. He was willing to do anything to make sure Diego stayed with him, feeling safe and loved and it just made me love Renzo even more.
There was plenty of action, suspense, and explosive moments throughout the book. Different events left me with wide eyes, my mouth hanging open, and anxious to turn the page and see what would happen next.
I went through hating and loving characters at the same time, my heart both breaking, soaring, and damn near beating out of my chest.
I cannot, CANNOT wait for the next part of this story.

Let's start off by saying I am really loving this series and the more books I read from this author the more I fall in love with her works.

This story was a continuation of Renzo and Lucia's story from book one. Talk about how opposites attract and this couple would be the perfect example as they are so different from each other in every way other than the ability to love wholeheartedly.

I have to say that this was a story that kept you glued to the pages the entire time as things were constantly changing and the danger kept getting even more real but, this time around even more was on the line.

Renzo was my favorite character hands down ."I loved him from the onset of the story!" and I have to say that I was a little bit in love with him myself. We loved everything about him the good and the bad.

Renzo, we found to be sexy, caring, loving, determined, some really big brass balls, bad*ss in his own right, creative, intelligent, a planner, downright dangerous if crossed, sneaky and sly, possessive, protective of all those he loved but, what we loved about him most of all of the self-sacrifices he made on a daily basis for his family while all the time doing a job he hated but, did it to provide for his family.

We loved Renzo's relationship with his brother and sister as also Lucia and how protective he was of them possessive of them and loved them well. Because of all of these things, this is just some of a few reasons that made Lucia fall in love with him and fall hard.

Lucia was so much more than just her upbringing. I have to say that she surprised more and more as the story progressed and we saw this protective tigress just blossom and the lengths she went to also protect those she had come to love was astounding and so out of character for her. Lucia was the poster girl of fierce warrior women. LOL, We say that because she surprised us at every turn with her deeds alone and even though its no secret who her family is and how dangerous they are I think she proved this time around that she is more like her family members she could ever imagine.

For us, the story rocked! The story had tons of romance and some really hot erotica love scenes, had constant drama, a ton of surprises as well as tons of twists and turns along the way, and the story that was a little bit intense.I loved the lengths this couple was willing to go to be together and the sacrifices both of them were making to forge and life together. We also loved the character's in this series and we are so looking forward to going back and starting with Lucian's story and how it all began.

We can't wait for the next installment to come out and we highly recommend checking out this author mafia books because everything I have read so far we have absolutely loved and they have been awesome reads.

We are loving these mafia romance books more and more.

*** 4 "You go, I go" Stars ***

*sniffs* Harbor absolutely gutted me. Knife to the f**king chest. Bethany-Kris knows how to to crush her readers hearts. Lucia and Ren's story is truly heartbreaking.

. . .

"He loved her crazy. Loved her enough to do all the crazy things for her. This love between them, wasn't easy to understand or make sense of, really. This love might ruin them, but strangely, that was the thing that scared him the least when it came to this woman."

Harbor begins right where Privilege ended. Lucia and Ren are on the run, along with Diego. It's not easy for them, far from it. And Ren makes a choice that will forever be his biggest regret. . . but he has to make sure his brother has a future that is far better then his own. Lucia knows that she is running on borrowed time. It is only a matter of time before her family tracks her down. But Ren means the world to her. . . where he goes. . . she goes. Ride or die.

As the story moves along, you know that this illusion of being a family is going to end in flames.
Lucia and Ren are the modern day Romeo + Juliet. And Lucia's family the Marcello's, are the epiphany of RUTHLESS. Lucia learns the hard way of just how Ruthless they can be.

Ren and Lucia both know they are running out of time. The emotion called love fuels and drives Ren to keep his girl safe. The bond they share cannot be broken.

The last chapters left me speechless. Sobs wrecked my body, and I could feel Lucia's pain. It was raw, futile and broke my heart all in the same. The bitter hate Lucia has for her brother and father. . . the utter contempt. . . I don't think those relationships can be fixed.

OH MY GOSH, how am I going to live without book 3? I need book 3 as soon as possible. I am still in shock. I still have not processed all my emotions. I am still in a messy state. Because of Harbor. Privilege totally annihilated my heart but Harbor wrecked my soul. It crushed me deeply. It broke my soul. It created shards of my broken heart and cut me inside. Harbor by Bethany-Kris deeply moved me.

Harbor is the heart pummeling and heart wrecking second chapter in the Renzo + Lucia trilogy, telling the love and relationship of Renzo and Lucia. Harbor is a deeply satisfying continuation to a thrilling and heart racing story that will claim you. What did Bethany-Kris do to me? No, she made a huge mess of my feelings that I cannot recover at all. The writing is so heart pulsing. The story is dangerously addictive and suspenseful. The characters leave you raw and bleeding with emotions. Harbor is a brilliantly written mafia romance that takes your feelings and whole heart to an unforgettable and gut wrenching journey. Harbor makes a home inside your soul and you cannot help but welcome. Bethany-Kris’s writing blows my mind. Like a painting on a wall, her writing moves you. Harbor, as always with any Bethany-Kris book, solidifies why I am a fan of her books.

Renzo and Lucia continue to excite me. You feel their young and deep love for each other in the pages of Harbor. You revere in their feelings. Their chemistry always 100% off the charts hot but with a captivating and intriguing edge. In Harbor, Renzo and Lucia ruined me. They bulldozed into my heart and made me fall in love with them deeply. Renzo and Lucia absolutely consume me.

Harbor left me me broken. Absolutely shattered. I need book 3. If you love action, mafia romance and fast pacing drama, you should definitely read Harbor.

Currently sobbing in the corner. WOW! I haven’t had a book give me a good cry in awhile and this one tore me apart. My heart aches. Definitely suffering from PTSD at the moment.

“You go, I go” is the mantra for this trilogy. And every time it’s said, I had to hold on to my chest to brace myself for the ride just to get through the next pages. I can’t stress enough how different this particular series is compared to the other Marcello books.

Lucia & Renzo are something else. Young, love, and forbidden. What else do you need to reel you in? Only there are so many other elements and hurdles for their love to overcome. Renzo’s love for his siblings are just...sigh. And the only thing comparable is his love for Lucia. These two, you just have to root for them. And as much as you may love those other Marcello men from their own stories- BK just has a knack for evoking the raw emotion off the pages and in to your own heart- I hated them as much as Lucia did towards the end. Buckle up peeps, you’re in for a bumpy one with this one.

Ren and Lucia hit the road together trying to escape her mob father Lucian Marcello. Along the way they encounter many problems and soon find themselves in over their heads as each twist leads to another unexpected turn over the course of weeks.
The writing is great and it delivers enough gangster moments to remind you it is a mafia tale with romance elements. Ren and Lucia are together and its the only thing to keep them going and trying to find a safe haven. Through the streets of Vegas and California, they each encounter horrific circumstances while trying to maintain a sense of normal and family for Diego, Ren's little brother.
Eventually their past catch up with them. I was glad when it happen. I wanted Ren to stop running as much as Lucia begged him to. He refuse to let his foot off the pedal and in the end it may have cost him more than he bargain for.
The ending leaves you hopeful. I can't wait to read the outcome. I really hope Lucian finds a place in Lucia life and vice versa. I loved how her father is willing to correct mistakes for the love of his daughter. Because at the moment, Lucia does not want any part of the Marcello family.

Update: I stop pretending now...

Pretending I didn't read it yet.
How could I miss it's a trilogy and not a duet? 🙄
Too much unnecessary violence and victims. Especially when they killed his uncle.
If not for their childish behaviour, a lot could have been solved bloodless.

Renzo and Lucia...... breaking my heart. These two, I swear are going to kill me. I don't want to give too much away with a review because this is the second book in the series, but damn, BK did it AGAIN!! If you loved Privilege, Harbor is the perfect continuation. There is nothing I would change about how BK wrote their story. You go, I go.... Ride or Die.....

This is just perfection. This series is one I won't forget. These characters will stick with me and these are the types of books to read again and again and you won't get bored or tired of the characters. Just perfection. <3

Harbor is the continuation of the story of Lucia and Renzo and managed to overcome the first book and make me love these two even more.Without wanting to give some spoiler of the journey of these two, after all there is still more to come, what I can say is that this book made me hold my breath and wait for the inevitable, what happened but didn't stop being so sad and heartbreaking.

I've read all of this author's books so I feel safe to say that Lucia and Renzo have won my heart. It is impossible not to feel the love these two have for each other and their determination to be together. In this book Lucia proved to me that my first impression of her being spoiled was wrong, from the beginning she only grew in my eyes becoming a strong, courageous, determined and loyal girl whom she loves. And Renzo, how not to fall in love with this young man who does everything for those he loves.

Here Bethany kris managed to do what I thought would never happen: I definitely hate the Marcelos, especially Lucian and John. Urgh this family will have to swing a lot so I can forgive them for their actions.

This modern story of Romeo and Juliet mafia continues more addictive and intriguing in this book, with an end that left me wishing that the third book arrives soon

Love is worth it all…

Whew… Another whirlwind read as Lucia and Renzo’s journey took them to unexpected places. On the run with limited means meant fewer options as they tried to find a safe haven. I felt for them as they saw limited options for themselves and made some decidedly unwise choices. I had to remember they were very young and who knows how anyone would react in the situations they found themselves. True to this author, those situations meant tough calls and more than one walk on the darker side…

Through it all, their love was never in question as loyalty and devotion, love, pushed them forward. This was a tension-filled road trip with crazy bumps along the way. And that ending? Well, it gave me hope and a desperate need to read the finale!

First off I am a massive fan of all BK’s books however I wasn’t overly enamoured with this one. I found the first 2/3rds of the book a little bit pointless and some of Ren and Lucia’s decisions left me with that WTF feeling. This was far too Bonnie and Clyde for me and dragging little Diego around didn’t sit that well either.
Now having said that the last 1/3rd of the book was bang on and really kicked it up and that cliffhanger…..oh man!! So my rating is for this part of the book oh and as for Lucian I am still waiting for that redemption.

Hmmm ok how to start with this book.

The last one didn't have this massive cliffhanger? So for me it took a little to get back into the swing of things. Its much easier when you're like "OMG what happens next?!?!"

Anyway! Back to the book. It is kind of like a slow burn. There are all these small events that eventually crash into each other and make this massive bonfire of "Oh shit"

I put down the book and needed a minute. You know when you have those moments? Where you need to re-read it to make sure what you read was ACTUALLY how it all went down? Yeah it was one of those.

I really like Renzo and Lucia. They are kinda like... I don't want to repeat my 'Romeo and Juliet' like from last review but it's totally the vibe I get. Kind of like a modern day princess locked in a tower type situation.

Like...Juliet Rapunzel.

Ugh I totally like to ramble and get off track.

I don't want to spoil anything, because there is going to be a book #3 but just...prepare yourself for some massive tears. This book hits you in the gut. Hard. But I promise it's in the best way possible.

It's just a reminder how much the author has made the characters come to live and made you care about them. THAT is a great thing indeed.

A mighty heartbreaking story of love that will survive?!

Harbor is the second part of Renzo and Lucia story by Bethany-Kris. This book was even more heartbreaking than I thought but I loved it. It made me feel - love, friendship and even anger.
Renzo and Lucia are worlds apart but they want to be together no matter what but circumstances or even mighty people...
I love Renzo (I think he is my new Cross) for his views and belifs. he doesn't want to kneel but he is full of respect.
Lucia - poor soul - her only disadvantage is being born in the Marcello family (or is it)?
They love, they hate, they fight.
I loved this part even more than the first one adn I anm anticipating the third part! I am rooting for them and I believe in them!

5 'You Go. I Go.' STARS

If you have not read Privilege do that first.

Lucia Marcello—the good girl gone bad has forsaken privilege turning her back on controlling la familia for—love, for loyalty, for him.

Renzo—born was at the bottom accepting the ways of a sinner to do right by his family. If giving them a better life meant running himself into the ground, then so be it.

Renzo found sanctuary, a sense of belonging, in the one woman the world told him he could not have—that he was not good enough for.

Lucia never heard the whispers, or the quick judgments.
She only saw the man. Loving Renzo more than his worst decisions.

His Lucia—the only fucking thing Renzo has ever wanted, needed from the world that has only taken from him. Lucia makes everything Renzo refuses to feel, all the hurt and bullshit irrelevant—their love, her light...together is all that matters.

Two halves.
One soul.

Renzo will not let her go.
Lucia will not be the next person to leave him.
And truth is, there is nowhere else she would rather be...

But they cannot stay.
They are coming.
They will not stop.
You go. I go.

Destination unknown.
More questions than answers.

Nothing but change in their pockets, warrants on their heads, and the clothes on their backs. And yet together, they have everything.

Renzo does not know failure. He will push himself, constantly running on empty only to reach out for her in the moment to keep breathing, to keep fighting. He will be her safe place, the only reason to believe.

Everything has a cost.
Every action.
A consequence.

And sometimes...what you want, what you need, can't matter
because there is something bigger, more important than you.

Renzo and Lucia's love is constant. Unflinching. One soul that cannot, will not be separated by time, distance or the judgement of others.

What is meant to be, will be.
And oh boy will be one hell of a fight.
It's going to hurt like hell before it gets better.

Giving up isn't in their nature—they are stubborn, driven by love with two middle fingers to the world and anyone with the balls to dare stand in their way. It bound to be one hell of a ride.
And it's far from over. You go, I go. Ride or Die.

Why 5 Stars?
All the emotions.
All the feels.
Goosebumps for days.

These characters—as a reader you feel their hurt, their anger, their need to be together, and above all else you feel the undeniable passion they have for one another.

The character development and overall writing is simply brilliant. The sex scenes are out of this world—full of love, intimacy tapping into your deepest darkest fantasies in the best ways.

This book has depth, direction, purpose that sets your book brain on fire and makes your heart hurt. If that's not a five star book, I don't know what is.

You're gonna wanna add this to your TBR. Contempt

Beautifully heartbreaking. I knew my two star crossed lovers would be tested and pulled apart in this one, but I didn’t expect it to hurt so badly and for the hurt to come from family within. BK is an amazing storyteller and weaver of words. I love the world she builds and the characters that come alive on the pages. I was completed engrossed. Beautiful, sexy and heartbreaking fairytales....please release the final book soon. I’m weeping for Renzo and Lucia’s HEA.

I struggled a little with this one,’ mainly due to the slower pace. The sequel to Lucia and Renzo’s story has them on the run from the Marcello’s, with only each other to depend on. A lot of the story is watching them run from place to place, settling down in one spot and then fleeing to another once something goes wrong. Lucia also started grating on my nerves with this one, where I think her naïveté really shined through in certain points with her decision making. With the ending, I’m not sure what else Lucia expected to happen when things finally came to a head.
