Dazzled by Deany Ray is the fifth book in A Charlie Cooper Mystery series but can be read as a standalone. It is however always better to start at the beginning of the series and follow the progression.
It is Charlie's thirtieth birthday and as a present the girls are taking her to Las Vegas. Charlie is not too happy with her life at the moment, she still lives with her parents, their business in not doing so well, Alex hasn't called, so she really could do with some fun.
But girls wouldn't be girls if they didn't get themselves in some trouble or other. Purely by mistake they find a packet with genuine diamonds in it with some very bad and dangerous people demanding it back. To make it worse it is not just their life that is in danger but lives of completely innocent people as well.
A great continuation of an excellent series. I have been following it from the very first book.
There is always fun to be had with this lovely quirky characters and unbelievable mishaps that they get themselves into.
As usually it is easy to read, steady paced and well written. Smart mystery with not so easy to guess ending.
The only reason I gave it 4 stars is that it is not as action packed as previous books and I really missed fabulous humor and many laugh out loud scenes that were for me an integral part of previous installments.

Marge surprises Charlie with a trip to Las Vegas for her big 3 0 birthday. With surprises from both Marge and Celeste. Charlie has the time of her life. Being her typical clumsy self, she crashes a Porsche & Lamborghini, knocks an expensive lamp on the floor of her room, tries to find the screws to fix the lamp and finds a bag taped to the underside of the bed. Once again, CMC investigations are in the thick of things. Chasing jewel thieves and murders, almost getting arrested, and causing a scene in front of everyone in the lobby of the casino/hotel they are staying in.
Charlie also gets a nice surprise visit from not only her parents who want to celebrate her birthday, but Alex also shows up to make things almost perfect.
This one is a fun and steady to fast paced story with well developed characters, a strong plot line, and several twist to keep you guessing as to who all the players are.

Coffee on the run
A terrific plot that couldn't have been set anywhere but Vegas. Non stop action and a wild sequence of events that will make you wonder if they can get out alive. Wonderful characters that we have grown to love from the exuberant to the reclusive, all of them just add to the temp of the read.
They are bored! No new job has come in and Alex hasn't called. But a surprise trip to Vegas (for her 30th) has the three excited. Excited until she finds the diamonds taped to the underside of the bed. Add in a dead girl, thugs chasing them, a long suffering Uber driver, and a gang willing to go to any lengths to get their diamonds back. How will the case resolve itself especially when her parents and Alex turn up unexpectedly?

Even sleuths on vacation are dazzled in Las Vegas!
The trio of sleuths fly to Las Vegas to celebrate Charlie’s birthday. Not just any birthday. Her 30th birthday. There is one surprise after another in this story: some good, some bad, some exciting, some frightening, some unexpected, some romantic, some embarrassing, some hilarious, some dangerous. Well, you get the picture. At times, I found myself laughing out loud and others holding my breath in anticipation of what would happen next. This was a good story!
Deany Ray has delivered another well-written, fun, easy read. It is a highly entertaining, slightly romantic, out of the ordinary, comedic whodunit.

A surprise trip to Vegas for Charlie's 30th birthday has more surprises than you can even imagine. But the biggest one is when Charlie finds a stash of unmounted diamonds taped to her hotel bed! There goes the carefree vacation! Of course Charlie, Marge, and Celeste have to track down the owner of the diamonds, discover a murder, and outwit the mastermind...right? As well as a whole lot of other funny and awesome things that could only be done in Vegas! A fast paced exciting adventure in the dazzling city that never sleeps. So much fun!

This was the most exciting Charlie Cooper mystery yet. Charlie, Celeste, and Marge are loose in Vegas to celebrate Charlie’s 30th birthday and get into all kinds of trouble. The ladies get involved in a diamond scam ring putting them on a roller coaster ride to finding the perpetrators along with the help of their favorite Uber driver. I couldn’t help laughing at all the hilarious situations that Charlie kept getting in and thoroughly enjoyed this book!

Charlie Cooper gets a great gift from her best friends, Marge and Celeste, for her 30th birthday, a trip to Vegas! Of course, it is filled with surprises, not the usual kind: a bag of diamonds, scary bad guys, and help from Alex with a kiss that promises more in the future!

Fun & Entertaining
Charlie & her cohorts are so much fun. This book & the whole series have you laughing and along with them trying to figure who did what. No matter where they go, they always end up finding a body. Poor Charlie couldn't even celebrate her birthday week without something happening. Thoroughly enjoying this series!

Charlie Cooper saves the day!
Cute cozy mystery- fast read- fun adventures. Great characters! Just settle in and enjoy Charlie and friends as they are unlikely detectives who get the job done.

Definitely dazzling
Excellent read. Could not put it down. Only a Charlie Cooper mystery could have some of everything, fun crime and surprise. And in Vegas.

I love this series. This time the girls go to Las Vegas and another mystery on their hands. Mystery, bad guys, romance and laughs all rolled into one story. Great fun!
