Her aunt is her roommate, assassins are closing in, and she still needs a dress for the dragon ball. Buckle up.
After finding out where she actually came from, Trin is now trying to hide from the family who wants her genes for analysis and who wants her aunt Meadra back. Hiding in Breaker City works for a while, but when kidnappers and assassins threaten those who have tried to keep them safe, Trin decides that a return to the capitol is what she needs. She knows where everything is and how to defend herself in the place she grew up. Hiding with friends is far superior to hiding alone. Apraxa is back from the sea kingdom, and she has no inclination to return for the present. Her mother is abusive, and her fiancé is a bit of a jerk. She joins their merry band and heads out with them to the dragon ball. If she can’t get over her fiancé, perhaps there is another dragon who would do as well. Meadra needs a mate for security, Apraxa needs one to spite her fiancé, and Trin is going to destroy any dragoness who gets near Brommin before she can. That nerd is hers!
Meh, too much gushing over fashion, marriage and men for my taste. Yes there was a hint of empowered women, but it all drowned in something that belongs in a child’s fantasy of marriage, with too little action and too much talking and sitting around.
Ok, can I just say--I love, love, love the descriptions of the gowns that the 3 female M.C.'s wear in this book. And would love to have all of them. Plus the cover is just wonderful. Congrats to Ms. Grace for both the cover and the novella that does justice to it.
Loved it, love this series, great ending to Trin's story Trin and Meadra are laying low in Breaker City. A night out at the Blood Moon Festival with Apraxia's brothers leads to trouble. Trin, Meadra with Apraxia head back to Creata's to get ready for the Dragon Ball. Trin is more than ready to claim Brommin. Apraxia a tiff with the Tempest, Romaki, and he is either going to come around to her way of thinking or she is going to find herself a mate at the ball. Meadra, just wants a mate to love her and keep her safe. All three get their wish, but they have to get around the assassins, Trin and Meadra's family, and some female dragons and their protective brothers who try to sabotage their chances of claiming their mates. Trin's dragon blessed all the new dragon couples with a nice surprise, for the coming year, including herself. Sweet proposals. A fun 3 way wedding at the Resistor's office with all their friends and family for support. Except Apraxia's brothers. Who are not happy they were not able to vet their baby sisters mate. Looking forward to Dragon Undone, a New City. Hope that Trin and her friends make an appearance.
Okay, here’s the thing. I thought Trin and Brommin’s story would be all wrapped up, and it was to a certain extent, however Trin did NOT get to confront either her father, her mother’s killer - as was heavily intimidated she’d do in book one - nor did the Delarm Valley contingent make any appearance whatsoever in this final third of the story, which I thought was really odd considering their freak out over Trin and the missing Meadra. Very disappointing on that score.
I also had a problem with how this so called ‘trilogy’ was presented. What should have been a <300 page book was broken up into three parts and sold, I assume, as a bit of a cash grab. I don’t think a less than 95 page story is worth $7, do you? Which is a shame because I really enjoyed Trin’s story, and have been interested in the wider world after Trin’s escapades in book 2. But, I’m not interested enough to shell out that much for what looks like will be a series of interconnecting side stories.
I am enjoying this new world and the characters Viola Grace brings to life. Her heroines always have admirable qualities and believable flaws and insecurities . They are easy to root for. I'm also enjoying how this universe is a melding of technologies. The steam punk is just plain fun! Who wouldn't admire a heroine who knows her own mind, has goals, has skill, and loves her friends like the family she never had?
The third book was to be a finale but has been expanded. It does bring the current characters an NEW but it was less exciting as book one. I think book two and three could have been joined for more enjoyable read. More action was needed i think. Still worth the read and the series has a potential to have spin off universes if a more thrill and action could be added.
Funny, engaging characters. I want to find out about what happened in the valley. They so need to be sorted out. I loved the trilogy. I enjoyed the strong female leads.
This was a great conclusion to this trilogy. Trin is one of my favorite heroines and Brommin is a great hero, though really Trin is her own hero. I really enjoyed this one and can't wait for the next books from this world, just a different part of it.
Romantic story finishes with weddings, Trin with her aunt and ocean dragon friend face risks but make fine matches. Related story will be Dragon Undone.Thursday Diamond Dragon gives surprise blessing, fertility!
This story was fantastic and funny, I loved it. Viola Grace has once again written a fantastic story that is fun to read. I eagerly await her next story.
The covers just keep getting better! The only thing missing on the older covers were pupils, most of the women looked a bit cross eyed. I love thedragons! Conbratx!
Enjoyed the story had to keep reading to the end of every book! Would recommend to those looking for a strong female heroine with lots of common sense.
Wonderful and sweet end to this story arc. It left me wishing some of the supporting characters could have their own story (would LOVE to know more about sea dragons and dysfunctional mother's motives).
This series is a fun read and has little steam until the end of the last book. Wonderful for traveling or curling up with a blanket on a cold or rainy day.
This author always has interesting ideas and believable worlds. This is a book about Dragons and Romance. Only 3 stars for me because I'm interested in Dragons. But if you like teenage romance as well, this is the series for you.
I love this series. But there are so many unanswered question like who was the one the put out the reward for Trin's death? And there is no reunion with her biological father!
