A note from the author:
Thanks for visiting my Goodreads page.
I wanted to tell something meaningful about myself, but let's start with the important stuff--I love swoon-worthy heroes. The kind of heroes that are strong and would take a bullet for you, but also want to open your door and listen to you pour out your heart.
What else? I grew up moving. If you’ve read my books, you won’t be surprised by this. I have a lot of moving themes through my books centered around characters experiencing pain from someone moving.
It was hard. But, I believe there’s always a seed of good that comes out of everything hard, so I think the best thing that came from it was that I learned to love books.
And I had to learn a lot of mad skills on friend making. It gave me a love of people…good people, compassionate people. Interesting people of all kinds.
What else about me? I am a mother and wife! I have four amazing boys that are like little ninjas running around. I love them so much and I’m so grateful for my amazing husband who doesn’t get intimidated by all the billionaire men in my life.
I have a fierce love of my Savior, Jesus Christ. I am so grateful for Him and for the healing and forgiveness I’ve gotten to experience in my life. This is a theme in many of my books.
I love being an American. I am so proud of the men and women that support and preserve our freedom. This is another theme you will find in my books.
I am so grateful for my fans and for the support and love you all show me! Don’t stop reading!
A billionaire main character isn't my favorite trope, but I'm glad I read this collection anyway. The authors did a great job bringing the characters to life and creating entertaining plots with just the right amount of romance. I prefer the billionaires that are not high maintenance, but more down-to-earth. There's something intriguing about the lifestyle and power that comes with that kind of money, and by the time I finished the collection I definitely had to reorient myself back to my more humble, non-materialistic circumstances ;) It's a fun read and one I'll probably pick up again in between longer books.
(I received a complimentary copy of the book; all opinions in this review are my own)
I love these collections for many reasons, but here's a couple--1) there are six novellas so you can read one whenever you have a short amount of free time and 2) you get stories by the three authors who created the Timeless Romance series, and stories by authors that may be new to you. Win, win!! This collection is all about billionaires. FYI not all billionaires are guys!
THE UNDERCOVER BILLIONAIRE by Taylor Hart--Mia Jagger goes to Casper, Wyoming to check out a ranch that's almost in foreclosure, tells her family she's going "off the grid" so they won't hear from her for a week, then wakes up in the hospital with no memory of who she is or how she got there. Ross Charm is a widower with a young daughter, and a ranch he's trying to save from foreclosure, when he stumbles across a bleeding, unconscious woman on his property. Of course he takes her to the hospital, but he doesn't count on her wanting to come home with him.
I don't know why I thought all the billionaires would be men, but I loved the twist that Mia is the billionaire. I also liked Mia's relationship with Ross' young daughter, Kinley--it's so sweet. Mia's brothers are very protective of her and this novella could easily be the introduction to a series on the Jagger brothers.
BE MY PLUS ONE by Heather B. Moore--Amanda Wurst has an idea for an app and presents it to a group of potential investors, Lodestone Capital & Holdings. Twenty minutes later she leaves humiliated and embarrassed, but is joined in the elevator ride down to the lobby by Jeremy Lode, the president of the group she was presenting to. He's interested in her app and offers her a partnership deal, which Amanda wants to turn down. Has Jeremy given her an offer she can't refuse?
This was one of my favorites in the collection. Jeremy sounds so swoony and when he goes with Amanda to her high school reunion--it's just the best. Amanda has come a long way since high school--she's a successful account who developed an app, but it doesn't take much for those who haven't truly grown up to make her feel small and inferior, but Jeremy does a fantastic job of politely putting everyone in their place. Take that mean girls! I liked their relationship which seemed to have sparks from the beginning.
TO HIDE AND TO HOLD by Sophia Summers--Chad Chamberlain and Brilee Townsend's parents want them to meet at a cocktail party thrown by the Chamberlains. Mr. Chamberlain wants to merge his business with the Townsends and thinks if Chad dates Brilee things will go more smoothly. Brilee is a no show at the cocktail party, afterwards Chad leaves for a camping trip to Lake Tahoe where he meets Grace, who's camping in an eggshell camper with her Huskie. They really hit it off so when Chad discovers Grace is the very girl both their parents hoped he would date, he couldn’t be happier. When Grace finds out. . .let's just say she doesn't feel the same way.
Seems like relationships arranged by parents didn't end in Regency/Victorian times, as Chad's parents tried to arrange a girlfriend for him. Chad kind of likes that Brilee stood up to her parents and didn't show up for the event, as he didn't care to be there. I thought Chad and Grace were cute together, and completely understood how Grace (Brilee) felt when she found out who Chad was. I can't imagine what it must be like to not know if people like you for yourself or your money, and I'm happy they worked things out.
BOW TIE OR THE BILLIONAIRE by Annette Lyon--Lauren Fisher built an all natural cosmetics business and life for herself in Finland. She's tired of running her business and longs to be back in the laboratory creating new products. She wants to partner with another company, but isn't happy with the head of the company, who wants to move the headquarters and discontinue her charitable donations. Now if Carmichael's assistant, Eric, was the one she was going to deal with she could work with that. He's smart, funny, kind, and visits sick children in hospitals as Bow Tie the Clown. Too bad she can't start a relationship with him, since she plans to stop the negotiations with his boss.
I can't say too much about this story because I don't want to give it away, but I loved it. It has a twist to it which was not what I was expecting. I did figure it out before Lauren did and I'm glad it all works out in the end. Lauren even ends up with something new to work on his her lab.
HOW TO WOO A BILLIONAIRE IN TEN DAYS by Danyelle Ferguson--Penny's all about work and doesn't date much. She wants a seat on the board of directors of the family business, Wessex Resorts, so her grandparents make her take a week vacation and she has to participate in the activities for the singles. Mac Hammond is at the resort for a friend's bachelor party. When one of the rich hockey players flirts with Penny and she blows him, he bets Mac that he can't get a date with her. Each date Mac and Penny have means more money for Mac's fund for his business, but he's beginning to have real feelings for Penny. Will Mac choose money or love?
This was a fun story and another one where the woman is the billionaire, which of course Mac doesn't know. Penny and Mac got along right away which made their budding relationship feel very natural. Of course she finds out about bet (people usually do) and wasn't happy about it. Honestly who would be? But things are worked out in the end. It was fun to read about the activities the resort had for the single people, which included some volunteer work.
THE BILLIONAIRE ABROAD by Sarah M. Eden--Event planner Keighley Ainsworth is excited to be hired by billionaire Sterling Westcott to plan an important event in Dublin. It's a place she's always wanted to visit and she'll get to spend more time with Sterling, who Keighley seems to have a crush on. Sterling also hires local event planner Brogan Malone to help her find a venue and anything else she may need to make sure this meeting goes smoothly, but they don't seem to get along very well. But the more time Keighley and Brogan spend together that seems to change.
I loved this story. The descriptions of the places Keighley and Brogan visit, the characters, the twist in the story (which I'm not going to give away), the interactions of the characters. It's Sarah M. Eden so what's not to love?
I'm not going to review the individual novellas. But I will say that I had a blast reading this book. I had so many laugh out loud moments. There was definitely plenty of swoony and sweet romance as well.
I love this group of authors and knew before I started reading this new collection that I was going to love it. I wasn't disappointed.
I know billionaire stories are all the rage right now (and for the past little while) and can be a little overdone for some readers. But if I were to tell you one billionaire story to pick from them all, it would be this one...or rather these 6. Lol! Read them all or some of them. Definitely another win in the Timeless Romance Anthology collections for me.
And guess what...not all the billionaires were men. So how about that for mixing it up a little. Hee Hee! Just thought I'd throw that out there. For being shorter novellas, I felt as if the authors were able to create characters that had depth and not just fluff. That helped me connect with these stories even more.
Curl up with a favorite blanket, or not if it's warm where you are, your favorite chocolate, a tasty drink (hot chocolate if it's cold-if you can't tell, it's cold where I am), and enjoy all the fun destinations and sweet romances awaiting you in this collection!
Content: Clean. Each novella was written clean. Nothing further than kissing in each one.
I received a copy from the publisher. All thoughts and opinions in the review are my own.
All of the stories in this anthology were great! I really did love each one. The storylines were varied and interesting. The characters were wonderful. The romance was swoony. And the kisses...sigh...oh, yeah! Each story had a happy ending, but not all ended in an engagement. I really appreciated that, since the stories aren't long. It kept them from feeling too rushed, and I could still envision the engagements and weddings that would come.
I have never been disappointed by a Timeless Romance Anthology, and I suspect that will always be the case. I can't wait for the next one!
I received a complimentary copy of the book, which I voluntarily reviewed. I have given my honest opinion.
This was a set of contemporary short stories. I have not gotten into the whole millionaire, billionaire books so decided to give this a try. I liked most of the stories:} Lyon's book was a little wordy...you know when a short story seems to drag it's not your kind of author. All the Story's were sweet and fun to read and of course Eden's was unlike all the others, in the best way. Love her writing.
The Undercover Billionaire by Taylor Hart Mia Jagger’s father—and boss—sends her to scope out a ranch their company wants to buy. Mia, who wants to be chef, not a VP of a billion-dollar company. If she has to take on this project, she’s going to do it her way—unplugging and going off the grid, giving herself some time and space. Ross Charm is a widower and single parent who needs to figure out a way to keep his ranch, which is in jeopardy due to his deceased wife’s medical bills. When he finds an unconscious, injured woman on his ranch, he doesn’t want to get involved beyond getting her the medical attention she needs. When she regains consciousness but has amnesia, however, the only person she trusts is Ross, and soon he finds himself with a houseguest who is working her way into his heart in ways he never expected. I thought the twist of having the woman be the billionaire rather than the man was neat and Ross was the type of hero I love—a rugged, down to earth cowboy who wants to do the right thing. The story felt really rushed, though, with some details left out, and it was the weakest of the collection.
Be My Plus One by Heather B. Moore Amanda Wurst has come a long way since high school. She’s a successful accountant who has developed an app that could be her big breakthrough—if she can convince Lodestone Capital & Holdings to be her financial backer. While Mandy’s initial meeting with the group doesn’t seem to go well, but Jeremy Lode, the company president, is interested in the app—and as he gets to know Mandy, he’s interested in her, too, and even offers to be her date to her high school reunion. Ooooh! I really liked this story. Jeremy’s pretty dreamy, Mandy’s the sort of girl you totally want to get the guy, and the attraction between them has just the right amount of sizzle. Good pacing, fun plot, excellent story.
To Hide and to Hold by Sophia Summers Chad Chamberlain’s parents want him to date the daughter of a potential business partner, thinking that if the two date, it will help the merger go more smoothly. But Brilee Townsend is a no-show, so Chad’s off the hook and heads to Lake Tahoe for a vacation, not expecting to meet someone there. He quickly falls for Grace—not knowing that she’s really the missing Brilee, who has headed off the grid to write a book about the experience that prompted her to turn her back on the high society life she had been living, and who has no idea that Chad is actually the guy her parents were trying to set her up with. Chad’s and Grace’s interactions were pretty adorable and I liked seeing their developing relationship. I would have liked more depth and development in regards to Brilee’s experience, which didn’t come through as overly interesting or compelling (I didn’t really get why a book about it would be so interesting to anyone—a newspaper article maybe but not a book), but I imagine it’s hard to fit that all into a novella.
Bow Tie or the Billionaire Lauren Fisher is looking for a buyer for her cosmetics company so she can get back to what she loves most—research and development—rather than managing the business. She thinks she has a great seller lined up, but when Frederick Howard Carmichael III comes to her headquarters in Helsinki, Finland, to discuss buying the company, Lauren isn’t impressed with him at all. His assistant Eric is great, and if she could do business with him instead, she’d feel good about the sale. But then she finds that Eric isn’t who she thought. This one started off a little slow for me, but it definitely picked up. I thought the setting was interesting—it was neat to learn a bit about Finland and the differences between Finns and Americans. The romance was sweet and I really liked it.
How to Woo a Billionaire by Danyelle Ferguson Penny desperately wants to be appointed to the board for Wessex Resorts, but her grandmother and grandfather, the cofounders of the business, haven’t trusted her with that responsibility yet. When Mimi tells her that the only way she’s getting on the board is if she takes a real vacation—which means participating in the activities the resort has to offer and connecting with other people, including going on two dates. Penny agrees, determined to get the board position, but she’s not planning on actually falling for someone until she meets Mac. Mac Hammond is at the resort for a bachelor party, and when one of the other guys in the party hits on Penny and gets shot down, he bets Mac that he can’t do any better. Mac, who could use the $500 he’ll get if Penny goes with him to pay off business debts, decides to go for it, only to find he and Penny have an instant connection. With each of them hiding a secret, does their romance have a chance? The resort setting was really fun, and the romance was sweet and felt very natural.
A Billionaire Abroad by Sarah M. Eden Keighley Ainsworth has worked hard to plan events for billionaire Sterling Westcott; she’s good at her job and thrilled when he asks her to plan a big business get-together in Dublin and even hopes that maybe there will be the chance for more personal developments. So when she gets to Dublin to find that Sterling has also hired an Irishman, Brogan Malone, to help with the event, she’s not happy and wants to get rid of Brogan, both so she can prove that she can handle the job alone and so he’s not in the way of things with Sterling. However, as she’s forced to spend time with Brogan, she starts to see him—and Sterling—differently. I loved everything about this story—the characters, the fact that it was set in Ireland, the dialogue, the gentle romance. It was just great!
I always love reading these collections; they’re great for a quick escape. I read an ARC provided by the publisher. All opinions are my own.
3.5 stars for this one. The range in story telling varies, I didn't love each one equally - for me Heather B. Moore's short story was my favourite. These billionaire stories can be very out of touch for the regular reader - which is probably why we pick them up and day dream a little :)
Each of the stories are different, and Sarah's at the end was fun. I've been to Dublin and loved all the nods to the local culture, sites and mannerisms.
Annette Lyon's story set in Finland stood out to me. I don't think I've ever read a story set there so that was enlightening. Overall this book is OK. Easy, light read.
I really enjoyed this collection of novellas. The Undercover billionaire was a heartwarming story of family and healing. Be My Plus One was a story of finding love is an unexpected way. To Hide and To Hold is a fun story about what others want for us may be the same as what we want. Bow tie or the Billionaire was a cute story about mistaken identity and judging others. How to Woo a Billionaire is a story about stopping to smell the roses and not let love pass you by. A Billionaire Abroad was about thinking you want one thing and realizing that something else is more what you need and want. I loved each of these stories and could not pick a favorite. I highly recommend this book.
I own nearly everyone of the Timeless Romance Collections and Timeless Regency Collections. I’ve gotten to know the authors that have written in so many of them. And I have come to get to know new authors that are featured. It is a great way to explore new to me authors. I know the books are going to be clean and wholesome. There are usually 3 to 6 authors shorter stories in each anthologies. It allows me to read the book in short spurts if I want to or sit down and read for hours. I haven’t read all of them yet but there isn’t one that I have not liked. This one is no exception. There is theme with each group of anthologies. As you can tell these group of stories have something to do with billionaires. Each story either made me laugh or touched me in some one.
This is a fun collection of modern stories. I liked how each story approached the theme differently so there was variety. They were all very well written and fun to read!
I have read many of the Timeless Romance Anthology books. I have really started to enjoy all the Billionaire books and this one has some great ones! The writers chosen for this group of stories do not disappoint! They are all clean and fun. Some even took some twists and turns I was not expecting. The best part about these anthology books is they fill the need for a quick fix romance. Plus, the characters are believable, and the kissing is always swoon worthy. Well done and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves a bit of romance.
*Please note that I received a complimentary copy. All opinions expressed are my own and I was under no obligation to leave a review.
Each story in this anthology offers complex characters, plenty of twists and surprises, and never goes any further than sharing kisses. Settings span the globe, so readers can travel without leaving home.
I was given this book for my honest review of it. "Kissing a Billionaire" is a collection of short stories. I will review each story below as well as a little about what each of them are about.
The Undercover Billionaire by Taylor Hart
In this story you meet Mia Jagger who goes to Casper, Wyoming to covertly evaluate a ranch which is about to be foreclosed for her father's company. But she fell and hit her head. When she awoke in the hospital she finds out she doesn't know who she is and why she was on the farm. Ross Charm decides to take Mia home where he lives with his daughter.
I really love how in this book, the billionaire isn't the male but the female. It was a nice twist of the familiar Billionaire romance stories. This story really reminded me of the movie Overboard, which they actually talked about in this story. I really loved the characters and how Taylor Hart wrote Mia out in not knowing her memory. I though really wanted to hit Ross in the head for taking a stranger into his home. It's a sweet story that I could really see happen. I so want to know more about Mia's family in a series, Taylor Hart.
Be My Plus One by Heather B. Moore
Amanda Wurst has been preparing for months to meet with a group of venture capitalists and get funding for her app. But the meeting was horrible and she was humiliated. After she leaves the president of the company meets her in the elevator and soon takes her under his wing.
This book had me giggle especially when they are at a restaurant. I really liked this story in that a geeky introvert girl got the guy. It had so many funny little quirky parts that are for sure to have the readers fall in love with it. I loved how the character both had faults and it made them so round and believable. What a wonderful story written by Heather B. Moore.
To Hide and to Hold by Sophia Summers
Lake Tahoe never looked so good the day that Chad met Grace. Grace didn't want anyone to know her life secret that she was really Brillee Grace Townsend the girl that Chad was told he had to marry for his father's company to buy Brillee family's company. Will Chad find out that Grace is really Brillee and how will Chad tell Grace who he really is?
This story was really unexpected as it's unusual to see two Billionaires meeting each other in romance story. I knew who Grace was right away when Chad first met her. I was waiting for the big boom when they finally realized who each other was. It was a wonderful story that kept me turning the page and hoping for more. I would love to see their relationship in future books.
Bow Tie or the Billionaire by Annette Lyon
Lauren has built a cosmetic empire and now lives a great life. But the business life has taken a toll and her she yearns to be in her favorite place the laboratory. Carmichael Enterprises has a great tracked record, but is looking for a partnership. When she meets the head of the company it'sself Carmichael. It's clear he had no intention of continuing her annual charitable donations. Too bad, for her she can't be partner with his assistant Eric. Eric is smart and very kind. He even visits sick kids in the hospital as a clown. Lauren can not stop herself from falling for Eric but nothing is going to come from it.
This story had lot of twist and turns. I love when she first runs into Eric at the airport. I can't give anything away because it will take away from the story. It's a sweet story that has build up and then crashes throughout it. I loved the amazing turns it took and I knew before Lauren what was going on. It's an amazing story and a really good to check out it.
How to Woo a Billionaire in Ten Days by Danyelle Ferguson
First I want to say that I am a big fan of Danyelle Ferguson books, I have personally read almost all of them at one point. In this story you meet the billionaire Penny. Penny doesn't think about falling in love and in being in a relationship. But her grandparents dangle a seat on the Wessex Resort board of directors in exchange for her entering the dating scene. Penny of course takes the challenge. Mac is at the resort for a friend's bachelor party. When one of the rich players flirts with Penny and gets rejected, Mac decides to make a dear with him that he would get a date with her. Each date that is made Mac's bet fund for his business grows but so does his feelings for her.
So, I just want to say that I love that the billionaire is the female of the story. I read a lot of these stories and it's almost always the male. So it was nice to see something different. I really enjoyed this story and really wanted it to be a full fledge novel. Please Danyelle, write a full fledge billionaire romance novel for me. I really like how each character was hiding things from the other like a true beginning relationship. It was great story and I have to know...was the bartender always Penny's grandfather....it never says...
The Billionaire Abroad by Sarah M. Eden
When bachelor billionaire Sterling Westcott hires Keighley Ainsworth for an event in Dublin she jumps for the opportunity. Time alone with her budding crush in a city she's always wanted to visit? But local planner Brogan Malone soon weaves a spell of his own, making her question everything.
I really enjoy this story and that it was really expecting of what was going to happen. I really ennoy that the characters were well rounded in this story. Sarah really needs knows how to build up the suspense of what is going on through out this story.
All in all this book of collections is amazing and these authors really know how to write romance stories. I can't wait to add all of them to my collection of authors to read from.
These Timeless Romance Anthologies are some of my very favorite books to read. I love the way each novella is by a different author – some old favorites, some new to me. Each of the novellas is about a common theme. The theme of this one happens to be billionaires. And I loved it!
The Undercover Billionaire by Taylor Hart is the first novella in this collection. I loved everything about it! I loved Mia. She just wants to be known as herself, not as a Jagger. She wishes she could be. And amazingly she has an accident where she lost her memory of who she was. She’s found and cared for by Ross and his sweet daughter. I loved the way these two were able to just be themselves without any pressure from anyone around them.
Next up is Be My Plus One by Heather B Moore. I loved the way Amanda is in this one. She’s super smart, she’s developed an app and needs an investor. That’s how she meets Jeremy. Through a series of unfortunate events that turn out to be fortunate, he offers to invest in her app. I loved the way Amanda tries to keep everything businesslike. But Jeremy has other plans. I loved the way he goes to bat for her to get some harpies off her back. Such a fun one!
To Hide and to Hold by Sophia Summers comes next. This one’s about Chad and Grace. Chad, especially at the beginning, comes across as a bit of a spoiled rich boy. He goes on an ill-fated camping trip and ends up meeting Grace. Grace is a complicated character. She’s from a wealthy family and had some issues. So she’s in hiding. I loved that aspect of this one. And I love how Chad goes out of his way to win her over, so she doesn’t run again.
Then we have Bow Tie or the Billionaire by Annette Lyon. This one is set in Finland. our characters are Lauren and Eric. Lauren owns a cosmetics company that she’s looking to find a partner for. Enter Carmichael and Eric. Carmichael comes across as a jerk, but his assistant Eric seems nice. I loved the way Lauren trusts Eric enough to go with him when he goes to the hospital dressed as a clown. This was such a sweet part. And it helps Lauren to make a decision when something not so nice comes to light about Eric.
In How to Woo a Billionaire in Ten Days by Danyelle Ferguson we meet Penny. She’s the billionaire in this one. And there’s a bet involved with some bachelors, Mac and Penny. Penny doesn’t know about the bet. She does know that her grandmother is insisting she stop working for a bit and have some fun. Hanging out with Mac fits the bill. But when she finds out about the bet, everything is off! I really liked the plot in this one.
Last we have A Billionaire Abroad by Sarah M Eden. Keighley is the main female lead in this one. She goes to Dublin, Ireland to plan an event for billionaire Sterling Wescott. Things go a bit crazy while she’s there and she ends up working with Brogan. I loved the way he got her to see the city. And how he showed her the local scene. The ending of this one was fantastic. I really loved the feeling the author left of having escaped to Ireland for a bit.
Each of these novellas are fantastic! I loved this collection so much!
The Undercover Billionaire by Taylor Hart - ⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2 stars. It was nice that the billionaire was a woman.😆 I’ve read from this author before and enjoy her work so I shouldn’t have been surprised that I enjoyed this one also. Ross and Mia had a sweet story, great chemistry and a nice progressive relationship with the added bonus of his daughter Kinnley, who was super adorable. Some scenes were a little rushed but as this was a Novella I kind of expected it. All in all, lovely book. Looking forward to revisiting this author.
Be My Plus One by Heather B. Moore - ⭐️1/2 stars. Jeremy and Amanda’s relationship went from professional, to casual, to something more, in 0.3 seconds flat. I know it’s a Novella but they were literally texting and flirting from day 1. It would have been nice if the line between business and pleasure was not blurred so quickly. However, their banters were fun and their romance was cute 🥰. Her best friend Daisy was funny and her appearances were enjoyable. I was enjoying this one up until it abruptly ended! No rushed ending, no closure, no happy ending, not even a happy for now. They were literally at the point where you can’t even call what they have, a relationship. Everything was just up in the air.Ugh 😑
To Hide and to Hold by Sophia Summers - ⭐️ star. Nothing really memorable about this. Story was unrealistic and bland. The characters were, in my opinion, too young and they were written like teenagers. I’m not sure but I think I’m starting to realize that I’m not a huge fan of the billionaire type troupes. I can’t seem to connect with them. There have been a few in the past that I did enjoy but they’re not high up on my list of favorites.
Bow Tie or the Billionaire by Annette Lyon - ⭐️1/2 stars. Slow start, meh plot, okay characters, interesting plot twist. Nothing that really stood out though.
How to Woo a Billionaire by Danyelle Ferguson - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2 stars. Loved this one from beginning to end. I think this is my favorite of the collection. Mac and Penny had a sweet, swoony story. Mac was genuinely a good guy and his interactions with Penny kept a smile firmly fixed on my face. They were just too adorable. Makes me want to revisit this authors books 🤔
A Billionaire Abroad by Sarah M. Eden - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars. I expected nothing less from S.M.E. One of my favorite authors delivers yet another sweet novella. I loved the humor and the banter but especially the romantic tension. This one kinda sorta veered a little from the theme/collection (the billionaire being the love interest), but I loved it nonetheless and enjoyed every moment with Kaleigh and Brogan.
This was a sweet book with very different stories. They all had in common kind and smart women. And the guys are kind and true to the name gentleman.
A couple of the stories had the sparks happening a bit too fast but hey! That’s the beauty of fiction!!
Undercover Billionaire had a twist with the lady being the one with money so it was a fun story. Both Mia and Ross have issues with love in their past to over come. They need to decide between want/need. I loved the reference to prayers and family and the close family scenes. It would be great to see sequels for the other family members (hint...hint)
Be my Plus One was a favorite as I loved the fact that Amanda is an accountant and loved the high school reunion scene... so can relate...maybe others as well except no Jeremy for me lol
To Hide and To Hold shows a different side to being rich and how Chad and Brilee make it work. I liked that they want to make a better world with all they had.
Bow Tie or the Billionaire was really cute...I loved the twist and will Lauren pick Eric or Carmichael? I liked the care that is shown...money for good...and chocolate!
How to Woo a Billionaire was cute...how can a bet/dare turn out so good? It is also great to see an average guy win!
A Billionaire Abroad was quite a surprise in how the story turns...I won’t spoil it for you. But it was like I was in Dublin and seeing some of the sights.
Good clean, fun romance for you to read and enjoy.
While I'm not exactly a fan of the billionaire storyline I think it can be creatively done and some of these were just that. I also enjoy the fact that there is six novellas so you can just get a little taste of different storylines and the way the authors write. I always like getting a peek into how an author writes to pick up new favorite authors. Clean romance, six novellas, stand-alones
What a delightful collection of novellas. Each story had a billionaire (or two). Each was well written with wonderful characters. I love these anthologies. It is so fun to pick up my Kindle and read a novella in one sitting. Simply, DELIGHTFUL!
Like other Timeless Romance Anthologies there were some stories I liked better than others. Sarah Edens was so good. It was easily the best and was a 4 star story. Four of the stories were ok and I’d give them a 3 star rating. One story I didn’t like at all and it was a 1 Star.
I don't normally like romances around billionaires, mostly because they give me "Fifty Shades of Gray" vibes and I like my men alpha without abusive control issues that is the BDSM world. FORTUNATELY I really LIKED this book because each of the stories was less about the Billionaire's money and more about the relationship. They also avoided the typical we come from two vastly different worlds trope that gets old. My main complaint is that some of the stories felt like the beginnings of much longer novels and I felt almost jipped by the fact that it ended when it did. Frankly I'd read much more of these stories, and would happily devour a series or extended novel.
Here’s the short, non-spoiler version: a collection of well-written novellas with a good variety of situations and characters... there’s a billionaire in every story, as the title suggests, but these plots are unique and some are not at all what you might expect! It’s a wonderful introduction to a wide variety of authors.
The Undercover Billionaire by Taylor Hart (4 stars)
Wow! A really clever plot! I loved that the billionaire was the woman! But also that she got a chance to just be her inner-most self for a while without the knowledge of all that money and power getting in the way.
The attraction was definitely sudden and strong, (and that’s one of my main complaints about novellas in general), but luckily, it felt like more time had passed than actually had. Plus, there were really good characters and an amazing epilogue. The whole novella left me with a smile on my face.
Be My Plus One by Heather B. Moore (4 stars)
This is a satisfactory story! A ‘shark tank’ introduction of the main characters, but then they quickly take things their own direction.
They get to know one another, but the attraction they feel is definitely a big factor.
I love that he aggressively pursues her and that she willingly accepts his attention. No wasting time waffling about and wondering, just straight forward interest and reciprocation from both of them.
I loved that she could hold her own with him and that her personality was similar to that of his deceased mother. It kind of made you happy to think that he found someone he could respect and who made him smile. I liked how alpha he was, but in a sincere, caring-for-his-woman kind of way, not in a creepy, narcissistic way.
To Hide and To Hold by Sophia Summers (2.0 stars)
Some plots require more suspended disbelief than I am capable of mustering.
The heroine, mere hours after meeting him, invites a total stranger to spend the night in her camper with her! Who does that?! Nothing happens romantically at that point; if you don’t count the cuddling, the hand-holding, the neck massage and the (‘disappointing’?!)kiss on the forehead.
Seriously, how stupid can one girl be? This is the classic scene that introduces a detective novel: the novel where her dead, decaying body is recovered a year later and they try to figure out which serial killer to blame it on! (Sure, her large dog is a helpful deterrent but a dog can only protect a person up to a point...)
So then she leaves the relative safety of the dog and goes rock climbing with the guy. Now he can kill her and dispose of her body even more easily!
Then, she stays at his chalet after spending only one night and one day in his company! Honestly, I struggled to enjoy the book because of her naïveté! You can’t tell someone’s character by looks and that was literally all she had to go on. Oh, and attraction, of course-ugh! (Thoughts of Ted Bundy running through my head.)
Loss of 1 star for all of the above.
I’m sorry to be a Debbie-downer, because the writing was good and the editing was, too! The book was light and sweet. In other circumstances, it would be just what I like. I guess the situation just hit too close to home (I have a 20-year-old daughter who, happily, is way more careful than this girl...but perhaps that’s why it was hard for me to escape into this particular plot.)
I have read this author’s work many times before and truly enjoy her writing, so don’t let this one, admittedly negative, review keep you from reading her! She’s a good writer!
Bow Tie or the Billionaire by Annette Lyon (3.5 stars)
A neat introduction to Finnish culture, beautiful descriptive prose, and a service-oriented love story - - what’s not to like?
The insta-love is a bit much; I guess I do better with these novellas when there’s more to base the love on than a single day spent together. Yes, they had both researched one another’s companies, but I still feel like to truly know someone takes time.
That said, it’s a delightful story! And I loved that it was a tribute to her uncle. That was really special!
How to Woo a Billionaire by Danyelle Ferguson (4 stars)
A really cute story with some quirky moments-very enjoyable! I’ll definitely be reading more by this author! I loved the date where her cooked for her! The food descriptions made me wish I was eating their left-overs! (Lol)
I liked that they took the physical part a bit more slowly than some novellas do. They waited to kiss until they’d been on a few dates, not right away. Plus they weren’t obsessed with the physical-it felt like they were getting to know one another.
A Billionaire Abroad by Sarah M. Eden (4 stars)
Ms. Eden has a number of historical romances about Irish immigrants settling in the US and obviously has a soft spot on her heart for Ireland and it’s people.
This was a lovely romance with some good banter thrown in. It was fun to see a bit of Dublin through the heroine’s eyes.
I liked that there wasn’t insta-love per se; there was attraction, connection and respect and they were going to see where that lead.
Yay that the normal, non-billionaire guy wins the girl!
*poor, **ok, ***good, ****very good, *****something special
Mia Jagger is investigating a property her family wants to invest in when an accident leaves her with amnesia. The only person she’s comfortable with is the cowboy who found her. I loved the familiar setting in Casper, Wyoming, the sweet relationship between Mia and the cowboy’s daughter, and the protectiveness of Mia’s family. I really hope that Taylor Hart writes more stories about Mia’s siblings as the epilogue set us up for!
Be My Plus One by Heather Moore
Mandy Wurst pitches her budget app to a venture capitalist and is pleasantly surprised when Jeremy Lode agrees to take it on. I was intrigued by the business end of this story. I also liked the high school reunion at the end. Don’t we all dream of proving somebody wrong? I liked seeing Mandy have her chance to show the mean girls that she wasn’t cowering anymore.
To Hide and to Hold by Sophia Summers
When Chad’s parents try to set him up with Brilee Townsend, he’s actually impressed when she stands him up. He’s so used to doing whatever his parents ask for the business for status, that he admires a girl who can cut herself free from that. Chad meets Brilee in Lake Tahoe where she goes by Grace. How can he convince her that what they have is real when it looks like their parents’ machinations?
Bow Tie or the Billionaire by Annette Lyon
Lauren is looking to sell her cosmetics company. She’s done her research and has a meeting with Frederick Carmichael. On paper it seemed like he would be the best fit to take care of her employees and the things she cares about. In person, she’s not so sure! The more she gets to know his assistant Eric, the more she wishes that he was the boss instead.
I loved the humor, the shared interests, and Bow Tie the clown. I still can’t imagine kissing a clown (too many creepy clown movies out there), but I loved Lauren and Eric together.
For another book about a strong cosmetics company owner check our Love in Bloom by Lisa Swinton.
How to Woo a Billionaire by Danyelle Ferguson
Mac is at a resort with his best friend, Graydon, for a bachelor party, unfortunately, Graydon’s other friends are idiots. When a beautiful woman, Penny, turns one of the idiots down, Mac bets that he can get a date with her, hoping to prove that being a nice guy is better than being an arrogant hockey player. The more time Mac and Penny spend together, the more he regrets the bet. Because we all know that’s going to blow up in his face, right?
I loved Mac and Penny! Yes, I would much rather have the nice guy than the conceited one with his cheesy pick-up lines. I loved the excursions that Mac and Penny went on. Their romance was believable and oh so cute! I loved the glimpse of Graydon and Rachel, and was glad to revisit them momentarily.
A Billionaire Abroad by Sarah Eden
Keighley Ainsworth is hired by Sterling Westcott to plan an event for him in Dublin. When she gets there she finds that Sterling has hired a local to work with her named Brogan. At first she feels threatened by his presence (she didn’t need any help!) but he helps her see that this trip to Ireland is about more than work.
I loved how Brogan helped Keighley relax and enjoy being where she had always wanted to be. I also loved how he stuck up for her. He brought out the best in her, and wanted what was best for her. I was really rooting for them as a couple!
I wasn’t sure if I would enjoy a whole billionaire collection. There seem to be a lot of billionaire books lately, but I was pleasantly surprised. I loved the secret identities, the interesting locations, and the sweet romances.
Content: clean (no language, no violence, some kissing)
I love Timeless Romance Anthologies and I've read and enjoyed all but one of these authors before (Ferguson was new to me). This one was not my favorite anthology and a lot of that might be because I'm really not keen on the billionaire rage going on in romance novels right now. Tell me a book is about a billionaire and my immediate response will be "meh" but it doesn't mean the book isn't good. It just means I'd prefer something besides billionaires. And I'm also not that keen on insta-love stories in general and novellas almost always have to be insta-love unless it is a second chance story line which is my preference. Despite the billionaires and insta-love I enjoyed this book for the most part.
The Undercover Billionaire by Taylor Hart: This is a classic amnesia romance which is a story line I enjoy. I also enjoy characters that love cooking so two elements here for me. This story doesn't feel as insta-love though it does happen quickly. I liked Mia and Ross. Mia's father was very overbearing and orchestrated an Ultimate Gift kind of ending. That seemed like a set up for future books for her siblings but I don't know if that was the intention. Ross's daughter was pretty adorable.
Be My Plus One by Heather B. Moore: I felt like this story was just getting going and bam it was over. I wanted to know what would come next. I guess I was just enjoying it too much to have it be over as they were just starting to develop a real relationship.
To Hide and To Hold by Sophia Summers: This one was very insta-love and I wondered at the safety issues involved with how they threw themselves together without much if any hesitancy. I enjoyed their relationship though.
Bow Tie or the Billionaire by Annette Lyon: This was an insta-love but the story had a twist. I could see it coming and sure hoped I was right because no other resolve was going to satisfy. I still enjoyed the story even though I knew right away what would happen.
How to Woo a Billionaire by Danyelle Ferguson: Not sure that I really get the title of this one since Mac had no idea that he was wooing a billionaire but I guess that doesn't really matter. My surprise in this one was that since Penny had overheard the idiot friends talking at the pool, I kinda thought she had also overheard Mac's bet with the idiot. Glad her grandfather was smart enough to point out that she essentially had a bet too.
This was yet another fun anthology to read. I love these collections of short stories. It is nice to be able to read a story and finish it quickly! The Undercover Billionaire by Taylor Hart. I loved this story! Ross meets Mia without knowing her background and who she is. They build their relationship on trust and no preconceived ideas. It was great to see the happily ever after at the end. Although I want to read Mia's brother James' story! Be My Plus One by Heather B Moore. This was a story of Mandy pitching her idea for investors. Jeremy is intrigued by her and ends up getting to know her better. This story moved too quick in my opinion, there wasn't much getting to know each other before the happily ever after. To Hide and to Hold by Sophia Summers. This was a fun book to read. To see the characters meet and learn to care of each other without all the pressure from home. I wanted to cringe at his idea to take her to the party without telling her who he really was. Her reaction was just as I expected. But a great happy ending! Bowtie or the Billionaire by Annette Lyon. This book is about a man who poses as someone else to really meet the people he will be working with. It was a fun read. Eric was a great guy and he and Lauren found happiness. How to Woo a Billionaire by Danyelle Ferguson. This was a great story of stepping outside of ones self to meet someone new and have new experiences. Mac and Penny needed encouragement to get out there, but it ended up in their favor. A Billionaire Abroad by Sarah Eden. This was a story of trying to impress one guy but ending up losing your heart to someone else. All in all this was a great collection and I really enjoyed reading it! I was given a free copy of this book for an honest review! All opinions expressed are my own.
I liked that "The Undercover Billionaire" had the girl as the billionaire instead of the guy. And I liked the twist in the epilogue. The plot was fine, but I was unimpressed with the writing. *Note: there are a few female billionaires in the collection; I wrote this portion of the review before reading the others.*
"Be My Plus One" was okay. It was fairly realistic, as far as circumstances for meeting and a timeline for a relationship go (not so realistic in the having-one-of-the-characters-be-a-billionaire aspect...but what can you do about that in a billionaire collection? ;-) ) I didn't care for Jeremy investing in Mandy's idea when he didn't really think it was the best plan.
I liked "To Hide and to Hold," but the lack of common sense of both protagonists was really ridiculous and would only be realistic in a world free of dangers. I mean, really, to let a complete stranger stay in your camper? To cuddle with him and let him rub your back? In the middle of nowhere, isolated? Um, no, thanks. Also, trusting a stranger who says, oh, yeah, I remember how to belay, and not reviewing it for safety? Also, no, thanks. Aside from things like that, as well as some of their reticence in truth-sharing, I did enjoy it.
"Bow Tie or the Billionaire" had some interesting Finnish tidbits in it. The story was fine, though predictable.
I enjoyed the beginning of "How to Woo a Billionaire," but then they both had stupid reactions to insignificant things. They overcame them in the end, though. And her Papa was great.
I thought "A Billionaire Abroad" was not fair to a certain person. Maybe he was the way he was portrayed, but the story left reasons for his mood swings out.
Content: clean, no sex.
