Oh, I can hardly wait for the next book! This series is so full of action and challenges! The writing is excellent and I love so many of the characters. This is the 6th book in the series and while I hate cliffhangers, we have another one. Notice, I gave it 5 stars in spite of that.

I can't believe I have to wait till may to read the final book... gutted.
But apart from that! What a ride this series has been so far, I have truly enjoyed each book. The characters and worlds developing have been interesting, exciting and pretty gripping. I have managed to read the 6 books today, a beautiful day binge-ing on books.
I would recommend the series, look forward to reading more by this author and really can't wait to read the final instalment

Bit slow in places.

Raven is now accepted in Avalon and has to settle in and get to grips with training for the angel trails.
Little confused about why Raven had to hand her cloaking ring over when she and Jessica could not stay together because she is human and wouldn't be safe around the other supernaturals but then in another chapter they take the ring away and say she is totally safe as the other supernaturals have their cravings dulled...surly then she is okay to stay with Jessica?
I Felt this installment dragged on a bit too much and I started to get a little bored.

Raven and her friends have finally arrived on the island of Avalon. Following her meeting with Annika, however, a shocking revelation comes to light which threatens Raven’s chances of entering the Angel Trials. Despite this setback, Raven decides to put her faith in Rosella’s prophecy and train for the gruelling Angel Trials.

Meanwhile Skylar, who is being held at the Montgomery compound, makes an alliance with an unexpected ally. She also meets Sage as well as Mara and realises that the latter could be the key to her finally escaping Azazel’s clutches. Will she succeed?

The Angel Secret is the sixth installment of the Angel Trials series. The book switches mostly between Raven and Noah’s point of view but does include Kara, a chapter for Annika and Lavinia and most significantly Skylar whose presence at the Montgomery compound could play a crucial part in the next book. Now that she’s no longer human, how will Raven react to her mother’s transformation?

After five books it was a relief to finally see Raven reach the elusive island of Avalon and come face to face with the Earth Angel herself. Surprisingly Annika is not what she expected. It was mentioned in a previous instalment that Angels are not able to stay on Earth due to their empathic nature and it soon becomes apparent that Annika’s health is deteriorating the longer she stays on Earth, something she’s desperately trying to keep hidden.

Avalon itself was a revelation and I could almost picture it in my mind. The writing has been fluid and the character development has been exceptional throughout this series. Noah’s reunion with his pack being an example. I feel that so many pieces are still left up in the air and it will be interesting to see how the author will resolve everything in one book. Will Raven succeed in the Angel Trials and survive drinking from the holy Grail? And just who is Azazel attempting to resurrect along with Lavinia and Lilith?

All in all the author has paved the way for an exciting finale and I’m looking forward to seeing how it all comes together.

I received an advanced free audible copy of The Angel Trials which was narrated by Patricia Santomasso whose clear, concise delivery made it easy to differentiate between characters.

Another amazing novel by Michelle. This series is phenomenal. Annika is back, and Raven is finally in Avalon.

It was great seeing a lot of the returning characters from previous installments, like Annika and Jacen and Annar.

This novel focuses on Raven now that she has 'finally made it'. However, there is a secret that Annika has been keeping from Earth that is pretty shocking, but while not totally unsurprising.

As Michelle always does, this novel is left on a amazing cliff hangar. This series is so complex, with so many moving pieces, parts and characters. I cannot wait to see how this portion of this series will end.

Seeing Noah and Raven accomplish small goals in this novel was really rewarding to read. Jessica is becoming one of my favourite characters too.

I need more Thomas and Sage in my life though. I cannot wait to see how this series wraps up. I cannot wait for the next worlds to be build and created. Michelle is an amazing author and her body of work is beyond incredible and highly addicting! Her novels are always super fast paced and for me must be read in one sitting because I'm hooked and need to know what is going to happen next.

This series is fire!

*I have received an ARC in exchange for an honest review

What a great sixth installment to an awesome series. This book is full of action, sweet romance, and great twists and turns. The only problem with this book is that it kept me up very late in the night.

The character growth is perhaps one of the best things in this novel. Raven has really grown as a character. She has become far from the timid and meek girl I met in the first novel. Now, she is a full scary and awesome warrior. Skylar, Annika, and Noah also grew a lot in the novel. I really liked how they slowly started becoming their own characters and soon started having their own voices. It was really nice to see how the characters are becoming their own person.

The romance was a great touch to the novel. I really enjoyed the nice slow burn between Raven and Noah. Even though it was a minor subplot, as a romance lover at heart, it was a really nice touch to the novel.

The action and world-building are phenomenal. The author adds so many twists and turns that you have to keep on turning the next page to find out what happens next. The fight scenes were excellent. I could literally feel and visualize how each character fought.

All in all, this an amazing novel from a diva author herself. I can't wait to read the final installment!

Characters: Raven and Co. have finally arrived at Avalon, however, it's not too long into their orientation that a shocking secret is revealed about what's been going on in Avalon. This secret affects all our heroes in various ways, and I really appreciated the organic way in which I felt they handled it. I will say though, Raven is getting a bit of an ego in these more recent installments, and part of me wonders if it may indicate pride before a fall, though with one installment left in the series I seriously doubt that. Noah also has some amazing chapters from his POV that focus on Noah's personal journey and how far he's come since his time as The First Prophet. Also, there is one Annika chapter in this book, and it may have been mostly fanservice, but that doesn't mean it didn't work on me.

Romance: So, honestly at this point, the romance isn't as large of a plot point as it was in previous installments, and I'm more than fine with that. Since the end of the series is so close I'd much rather focus on the plot and saving the world. Still, Raven and Noah's relationship still does come into play, especially when making some of the choices they make in this book. I don't think there will ever be a time I won't ship Raven and Noah, they've got great chemistry and their trust in each other is enviable. Even though I'm really not a fan of romances where there's magic amplifying or determining love, this one works so well because the characters fit together so well without seemingly sickeningly perfect.

World-Building: One of the things I've looked forward to most with this series is seeing Avalon through other characters eyes, and more specifically checking in on a lot of my favorite characters from The Vampire Wish series, both of which I finally got. There is a twist once our group gets to the island, it's something that's been hinted at before, and it's something that shakes a lot of things up. We also finally learn more about the Angel Trials and just what Raven will have to go through if she wants to succeed. There's a lot built into this installment and while I enjoyed learning even more about this world and catching up with beloved characters, with there only being one installment left after this, it felt like the story could have had a bit more plot progress.

Predictability: So, that twist, yeah I didn't see it coming. I knew there was a secret, of course, and luckily the reveal wasn't drawn out until the end but revealed fairly early on. I'm not going to go on and on about how shocked I was, but I will say it's a pretty bold twist to have and I'm interested to see how it's handled. As for the rest of the story, there are really only a few other truly shocking or twisty moments. One of the things I feel this author does best is her twists,

Ending: So, again the final climax of this story is hard to pin down. It's not that I didn't enjoy the ending or that it doesn't feel organic to the story, it's more like I felt there should have been some sort of more obvious challenge to face at the end of this installment, something to build and release the remaining tension. There's something similar that I guess could be called the final climax, but there wasn't a lot of tension towards the end of the story, and so the ending fell a bit flat. Still, there is that signature chapter from Madow that only solidified my shock at there only being one more installment left. I seriously don't understand how everything will be wrapped up in just one more book, but I've doubted Madow's series finales before and she still manages to make it all work out.

Rating:

4.5 stars

Even though I enjoyed this installment more than the previous one, given its place as the penultimate book in this series, it didn't quite hit that excellence mark, I'm a tad bit concerned if everything will get tied up in an organic and believable (given this world's rules) way. Still, I can't wait to see what comes next and if there will be more of a hint at the Faerie Games series at the end of the final installment.

Welcome to Avalon Academy—where supernaturals train, and only the strong survive.

After a long journey across the country, Raven has finally made it to the hidden island of Avalon. But she can’t rest yet. Because she still needs to enter the Angel Trials, become a Nephilim, and save her mom from the greater demon holding her hostage.

She knew the Angel Trials were going to be hard. But nothing could prepare her for what she learns when she gets to Avalon. Because the leader of the island—the Earth Angel—has been keeping a secret.

A secret so devastating it could ruin all hope of the supernaturals ever winning the war against the demons.

I have no words. Every book I read in this series, the more I fall in love with the story. It’s magnificent, magical.

I have loved all her books and series, however, The Angel Trials has become a favorite series. I love the plot, the characters and the twists in these books. I cannot believe that it is almost over, but I know that I will go back to this one and re-read it few times. I even recommended to few of my friends. I feel so drawn to this story and just when you don’t think anything surprising can happen, it does. That is one of the reasons why I read it so fast, I couldn’t get enough and needed to find what happens next with Raven. I loved all the books in the series, THE ANGEL SECRET wasn’t any different, and I got drawn from the first sentence until the last. I am not sure how I am supposed wait until end of May to find out how it all ends. I cannot believe that it’s almost over, but at the same time I am curious how it all going to end. I cannot help but wonder if Raven will pass the angel trials and this all is coming to an end.

I knew how hard the angel trials would be, and like Raven, did not realize how hard and how much training is required for it. Despite realizing how bad of shape she was, physically, and not once did she give up. I feel as that inspired for her to train even harder. That is what I love about Raven, that ever since the first book, no matter what was happening, not a single time did she give up. You can tell how much Raven’s character changed since the start of the series, and it feels as if her character had changed and developed the most. I am hoping and rooting for her to make it through the trials and considering what she found out from the earth angel, Annika, I think that she is determined more than ever, even if that puts herself at risk by going through the training for the angel trials. I loved that Annika was more in this book, she was my favorite character in Vampire Wish series and I can tell how much she changed too, and how much she must deal with.

Once again, that ending. How am I supposed end until end of May, with ending like that? MICHELLE MADOW is an amazing writer and has a way to draw you to the story, the characters. I feel as if most of characters in the story, are my friends. I feel as if I am there along with them. To me, they are real. If you love young adult fantasy with a twist, this is the series that you should check out now. Plus look at those covers, they are striking.

I've received ARCs of all the books in this series and I did for the prequel series as well! I'm always excited for the next book to continue the characters story! I received an ARC of this book, but because the last book released back in December, I did have to go back and re-read the last few chapters before I started this book! I'm really happy that I did this because it helped me remember more and it enhance my experience when reading this book! After reading this book, I can say that I really enjoyed it! It was the perfect addition to the series and the plot progressed perfectly and added a lot to the characters story! It only took me a few sittings to read as well and I loved the development of the plot and what happened in it! It was fun to get to see characters from the prequel series in this book too! The characters were again amazing and made this book even better! Raven was again the main female character, and in this book she was determined to find out more about what she had to do to save her mother and get rid of the threat! I loved Raven a lot in this book! She was all of us when she had to do the extreme training lol, but she refused to give up because she knew that she had to do it for the future! This made me have a lot of respect for her! Noah was again the main male character and love interest of Raven! I loved that Noah was in this book a lot because he added a lot to it and I got to connect with him a bit more! Noah was very suspicious in this book and he had every right to be! He and his friends were in a new environment and they didn't know who they could trust! I also loved the way that Noah was with Raven when they were together! It was easy to see how much he loved and cared about her! This book was mainly written from Raven and Noah's point of views, but there were chapters written from other characters point of views too! I was expecting this because the other books in this series have been written from several different point of views! A few books in the prequel series were written from multiple point of views too! This book was written from Raven, Noah, Kara, Skylar, Annika and Lavinia's point of views! All the different point of views added a lot to the plot and made it more interesting as there were some side stories happening that then came together! The ending of this book was also left at the perfect place to lead into the next book! I now can't wait to read the next book in this series! I'm sad that it's going to be the final book, but I'm loving reading Raven's journey and I can't wait to see how everything is going to end for her and the other characters! It says at the end of this book that the final book is going to release around May/June time, so it's not long too long of a wait at all! The cover for this book is also absolutely stunning! It matches the other covers in the series perfectly and it matches what happens in the book! I love that it has the same cover model as the other covers too! Big thank you to Michelle for an ARC of The Angel Secret!

Michelle Madow certainly knows how to keep you on the end of a hook. I could physically feel the disappointment that came from Raven, The worry from Noah & Thomas and the absolute despair from Annika The Earth Angel, as the secret to to the history of the Human Angel Trials is revealed. This is not what they expected. Raven is the last hope to save her Mom Skylar & Thomas’s love & their friend Sage. Plus humanity! . “No Pressure” . “The Angel Secret ” continues this Epic drama, sticking with Noah’s Reunion with some of his original pack from “The Vampire Wish” Dark World Series. (Definite Recommendation) which is not what he expected after being responsible for opening the gates to hell, letting in the Demons, they are all now fighting against. Progressing the story further we see how the other characters are doing while we wait for Raven to continue her training, because once the secrets of Avalon are revealed, all we could do is sit on our hands, as the anxious wait & anticipation builds waiting to see if Raven’s determination will make her a winner. We see what is happening with Skylar & discover a fight she is about to endure to get to the People who may help her find Raven. But Skylar’s life has changed forever, will Raven except her now? & has time run out for ever getting Sage back. Michelle Madow gives some answers to our questions but still manages to leave you hanging by your nails on a rock face, with all the danger, surprises & suspense that keeps readers hooked on this series. This author appears to have no threshold of creativity & the realism she pours into her character & world building gives you no questions as to its existence. To keep you coming back to a series of 6 books so far, shows the abilities this author has to hold you in her grasp as her imagination excels, giving her storylines the power to burrow into your heart & mind.

I’ve really loved Michelle Madow’s Dark World: The Angel Trials series. It’s world building, complex characters, layered plot and complex overarching story arc are just superb. And now, with The Angel Secret (Book 6), we are at the penultimate point in the series (as it’s my understanding that book 7 will be the last). This is not the book for newcomers to start at (trust me that it’s more than worthwhile to start at book 1, which is stupendous, and then move forward - you’ll be addicted), but for those who have been faithfully following along this novel moves the story arc, and the story lines of key characters such as Raven, Noah and Sage, along in important directions as well as providing important revelations about the Earth Angel and so much more while still giving the reader an exciting and well written book to enjoy. A neat trick that is successfully pulled off. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises. The book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend. I’m definitely looking forward to the next, concluding, book in this series.

OMG! That took me by surprise. I really wasn't expecting Angel's secret to be something like that but it made the story all the more interesting and made me love Raven more than ever before. She is one determined human and such a badass if you ask me. I love it and enjoyed reading it a lot. I think this series is definitely a must read for paranormal fiction fans. The best thing about Michelle Madow's books is that they are interesting, fun, and most importantly quick and easy reads. You won't see story dragging in any way and cliffhangers are never so bad that you'd hate them. It only makes waiting for the next book all the more fun. I thoroughly enjoyed this adventure on the Angel Islan aka Avalon. So many things are revealed in this book. We finally meet Annika in the book six of the series and many other new characters are introduced. I missed Sage though and hope to see more of her in the next book. If my previous experience is anything to go by, I am sure the author is not going to disappoint us when she wraps up everything. I am so looking forward to the next book now, seriously, I can't wait to get my hands on it. I hope it is soon. :)

Raven and Noah have finally arrived on Avalon, and are ready to begin training for the coming war with the demons. But Annika's army isn't at all what they expected to find as they adjust to life on Avalon. Can Raven succeed in the angel trials and save her mother, Sage, and the rest of Earth?

This book is a little less plot-advancing than some of the others in this series - we get a few glimpses of what's going on with other characters in the "real" world, but we also get to know what life is like on Avalon. Throw all your expectations out the window - that's the secret - life on Avalon is not at all what Raven and Noah thought it would be. We do get to discover the truth with our beloved characters, as well as spend a few chapters with Raven's mom. It's all leading up to the final battle. I know there's only one more book left, but it seems like so many questions are left unanswered. I don't know how Michelle Madow is going to answer them all in one book, but I felt that way at the end of Annika's story, too, so I guess she'll find a way to surprise me.

I volunteered to review an ARC of this novel.

I received a complimentary copy of this book and volunteered to review it.

Wow talk about plot twists! In this book you see Raven’s strength of character take off towards the moon as she pretty much stares down those on Avalon.
Meeting Annika through the eyes of Raven who happens to be older is unusual especially when Raven finds out what’s really going on. I like the dynamic between these two because Raven basically becomes a source of inspiration to pull Annika out of her head and be grounded again. Who knew the Earth Angel needed a little pep talk from a potential ‘big sis’?

Noah, of course, is his usual gorgeous protective self that casually threatens violence on any who might harm Raven.

I’m glad we see more of Skylar in this one and the details of captivity, it puts things into real perspective and shows just how little time Raven and Noah have.

I’m wanting the next book now!

The book starts where the previous ended, entering to Avalon, discovering the Earth Angel's secret. The book is great, however not that action focused as the previous ones. This book rather focuses on catching up with all the important characters so far (ecen unicorns are back, yeey) giving more space to Skylar, even Sage is back for a while. Things are not easy under complacent potion, but still a lot is happening back to the compound, which is exciting to see. Mara is quite surprising, but I was missing Flint a bit, however there were others (new and returning) who could keep up for that. Things are starting to point to the end game (hopefully not too quickly :)), I'm curious how it continues.

A good tale full of wonderful characters and unlikely allies. Raven first meeting with Annika is a bit of a tear-jerker in the best of ways. And the welcome tears of happiness and good continue to happen through much of the story.

One small point keeps disturbing me: the story reads as though the Vale is not part of Earth.

The phrase "so you can kill that supernatural" occurs over and over in the story. And each time, it just adds more dread. Killing should never be the goal no matter how well justified. Perhaps Raven will win through without as she did in Book 5.

I received a copy of this book as a gift. This is my honest review.

Okay, the reason I am reading this series is because of the series this came from. I really liked it and the characters. Was hoping to check in with them some. I do not care for Raven at all, never have. However, I can see that how she is will help her. But... after everything the characters went through in the first series, to now be twiddling thumbs, weak and useless, or whatever, I don’t like it. Never would have read this series if I’d known Raven was going to be some kind of world savior type story. Really over done. The writing is pretty good, was just really unhappy about some things. Too tired to make much more sense.

Another great book in this series! This is book 6 and all prior books must be read first to understand anything. As usual, the book continues right where it left off from book 5. There's less action in this book simply because they've already made it onto Avalon and are getting to know the island and its people. In this case, finally getting to see what's been going on with Annika! I highly recommend reading the Vampire Wish series to understand what's going on here. I feel that the book was a bit short --- but that could just mean it was too good! I definitely had a hard time putting this book down. Excited for the next book!

I read this in one sitting while on my journey back on a train from Luxor to Cairo. I might also read the last book since I have yet to arrive at my destination. The story is fascinating and engaging since we finally get to read what's the Angel Trial is about, the catch and find out what happens in Avalon.

It's getting more intense as we're nearing the end.
I'm sure we'll read about the battle, the trial, the rescue mission, the bonding ceremony, the wedding, etc. There's so much to cover, and I'm super excited to continue reading than writing a review 😜. It will be an action-packed book next! Trust me!

First of all, terrible cover. Such a terrible cover it's comical.

Second of all, WHY DOES THIS BOOK EXIST? Literally nothing happens in this book. Like yeah sure, we learn more about Skylar's involvement but that did not feel important enough to practically have a whole book dedicated to her.

Raven starts her training. Yup that's it. That's pretty much it.

I do like the concept of the mages, mana, holy water, etc. That's was pretty interesting.

To future me:

Hmm how to write this without giving anything away...
We 'see' Avalon for the first time. We meet some new characters.. some questions are answered but some more come to light. I am absolutely loving this series and can not wait to see what the next book brings. This book wasn't as action packed as the ones before but it was no less amazing. I love the worlds that Michelle creates, she writes in a way that makes you feel that you are right there.
I read this book so quickly and now hate that it's finished because I have to wait for more lol.

First of all, I just want to say thank you to Michelle Madow for giving me an ARC of this book to read in exchange for an honest review. No compensation was given, offered, or taken to alter the opinion.

This book is appropriately named because some big secrets are revealed! We're finally in Avalon and it was great to see Annika and other characters from the Vampire Wish series again. While this book may not be as action packed as some of the others, it set us up for an epic finale. It's hard to believe that this is the second to last book in this series. I can't wait to see how it all ends!

On the island at last but things don’t quite equal the expectations of our intrepid quintet. Among other things they’re sorted by gender and species so they only see some of their group across the room at mealtimes. Meanwhile, things don’t turn out so well for Harry or twin teens, Keith and Kari in a run-in with Azazel and his minions. Also, Skylar may find loopholes and unexpected allies as her new reality settles on her shoulders. Finally, another peek into Azazel’s ultimate plan is included.

I'm so glad I decided to switch from the audiobook. I ended up being more engaged in the story and with the characters and I finally enjoyed the story for the first time.

This author usually writes fast-paced books/series but the Angel Trials has been a little more drawn out and slower pace but in this book, we finally get to the meat of the story. Answers are given, and we can see all the storylines connect and now understand the end game. I'm excited to see how it all ends in the next book

I always do this to myself. I get so excited for the next book in a series that when I finally get my hands on it I finish it in one sitting and then I'm waiting again. There wasn't a ton of new information for the reader. Lots of new information for certain characters, and one bombshell for readers and characters alike. I hadn't realised how much I missed these characters and now I will impatiently wait for the next book.

Raven and her friends have reached Avalon and she is ready to start training for the Angel Trials. Unfortunately the Earth Angel has some rather horrific news for her. However, it does not deter her and she starts a rather gruelling training regime. Meanwhile her mother, Skylar, is at the Montgomery compound with the demons and the bound wolves. She is trying to find a way to escape, but it will not be easy if not impossible.

The title is very fitting for this book, because the Earth Angel has a BIG secret. I love that every book in the series picks up exactly where the last one left off. It's like waiting for the next episode of your favorite TV show. We're still following the journey of our favorite characters, you get to see some others that we haven't seen in a while and we meet some new people. The Angel Secret is building up to what I'm sure will be an explosive finale of this amazing series.

Raven truly does have the gift of determination and stubbornness, and it seems like everyone will have to be betting on her so she can save the world. Noah may finally find the redemption he has been looking for since being The First Prophet. Bless Sage she doesn't even realize how sad she truly is. Skylar is doing what she can to fight back again Azrel. Each has their own personal obstacles that they must overcome to make out of this in one piece including the Eath Angel.

Wow this series is getting more amazing as it goes along. Raven has finally made it to Avalon for the Angel Trials but Annika is hiding a secret. Sorry guys no spoilers today this story is getting so exciting but there is a cliffhanger at the end of this book and there are still a lot of questions un answered but I know that we will find them out in the conclusion and I can’t wait. This is an amazing story/ series and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.
