Having lost so much, and having suffered to a breaking point, Alexia sets out to unravel the mystery of her existence and to take vengeance on those who have taken from her. Along the way, she must battle against the forces of darkness to save the fates of her newly-discovered sisters, as well as to secure the safety of her immortal soul. Pulled this way and that, and unsure of who can be trusted, she must rely on her wit and her own powers to make it through the depths, and back towards the light.
In a world where nobody can be trusted, and in which one’s own power and destiny is constantly tested in a challenge after challenge, adversity after adversity, Alexia has to take decisions which have the potential to destroy everything she has worked so hard to build. Her path is a twisting, mysterious, and unreliable one, and the mythological creatures, monsters, and teachers she meets all have their own agendas, each of which continually threatens to bubble to the surface. Tutored by Lucifer - first of the fallen - and dealing with unexpected emotions in his presence, can she find the peace and the answers she so desperately seeks?

I was so very pleased with book two. The way the story took you deeper into the world of the mysterious and Dark. Evil creatures and beings at every turn. Dark Wizards waiting to trap your inner light. How do you trust anyone when it seemed like they were all out to get her. But she did what she had to, to save her sisters and herself. Bravery, Willing to do battle with whatever got in her way. The adventure and excitement was mind blowing at times. It made you want to yell "Don't go that way."
Its an amazing book and I am just starting book 3, Maya Daniels is a brilliant young author who I am sure will we see a lot more great things from.
This is a solid follow up to book one and now I'm desperate for book 3.
The book picks up a few months after the first book. Alexia is working with Lucifer to go find her sisters. Without giving up too much of a plot, she ends up in a different realm, where the majority of the novel takes place. This is a nasty realm with dark warlocks. Like the first book, not everyone in Alexia's life is who she thinks they are and she deals with betrayal.
There are a few chapters in the book told from Lucifer's point of few and we learn something from one of his chapters right at the end that makes me want to see what happens in book 3. I'm sure book 3 will be full of suspense and action, but maybe Alexia will get some relief from the constant ache in her heart from everything that has happened in books 1 and 2
I really enjoyed this sequel to the first book in the series. The character development in this second book was even better than in the first as Alexia starts undergoing a strange transformation while pursuing her only goal: save her sisters from the claws of evil. What I also enjoyed immensely was the relationship between Alexia and Lucifer: their stories are told from alternating points of view and this helped me even better connect with both heroes. The setting was once again simply fascinating and described in such vivid colors that I felt as though I was actually there, wandering through portals together with Alexia. Riveting and impossible to put down, “Reborn” will make a perfect read for all fans of the genre, but start with Book 1 to enjoy the story even more.
To be honest I don't know what I was expecting from this book. After reading the first book 'awakened' and then the prequel, 'who am I' I was really excited for the second book. The first book already had me hooked on the characters and the quest for the books of destiny and I was eager to get lost in the adventure all over again. Where the first book was very fast paced and eventful the second book has a slower approach and being the second book in the series I guess I kind of expected that to happen. What I didn't expect though was the twists and turns that this book takes you on. It has a more gloomy and dark approach and the author has captured this energy perfectly. I even found myself curling more under the duvet or clutching my pillow as tjings began to unfold. At some points I think I was almost shouting out at the pages to try and help the characters, I got so lost in the journey I forgot I was reading a book and wasn't really there with them. But that's how you feel when you are reading this series, that you are there with these characters following the same journey as them and getting lost in their world or realm as the case may be. The author has also enhanced her writing style and upped her game in this second book as it flips between telling the story through the eyes of both Alexia and Lucifer which I found interesting and exciting and at times it made me laugh and feel quite saddened at times too. In this first book you could kind of predict a little as you were reading on to what was about to happen but in this second book I found it hard to predict anything, just when you think it's all over the author flips in another surprise so it really does make you want to turn the pages quicker in order to know what is going to happen. Again getting to the ending was gutting because you just want to keep reading on and now we are left with an agonising wait for the third book! This book with its mix of God's, witches, wizards and of course the beautiful and powerful Goddesses really captures your heart and soul. I would definitely recommend this book as I have done the other two from the series ..... an amazing and thrilling read and it even includes the first chapter from the third book 'The Vessel'..... this book and it's characters have really captured my heart.
Reborn is the second book in the Semiramis series, and we continue where we left off. Alexia is training hard, determined to find her sisters, Philip, and Derik. Lucifer is training her for his own reasons, and I'm happy to say Daisy makes a reappearance. Alexia is changing, not very surprising considering what happened at the end of the first book, but she is struggling with it. She is full of anger and guilt about what happened to her sisters.
This book is full of ideas on how to be 'reborn', and I think Alexia does most of them. It all runs true with the story though, and in each case it is more interesting, giving the reader more of an idea of what is going on, whilst still leaving me wanting more. I loved seeing the interplay between Alexia and Lucifer, but I will admit to loving when Remi and the others come back into play. There is something about how they spark off each other that makes it perfect. Although I understood Alexia's internal monologues, I loved how she was once they were all reunited.
There is no middle book slump with this book. It is a fantastic addition to the series. The world-building continues to excel, and the characters are interesting and fully-dimensional. There is layer upon layer of intrigue, and I really can't wait to continue with The Vessel. This is one story that I am thoroughly enjoying, and I need to finish it. I need to see where it is going, what will be the outcome, and of course, just how Lucifer and Alexia finish their... training. 😉
If you love #Fantasy #Romance, then I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending either this book or the series.
* A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book, and the comments here are my honest opinion. *

This book. Wow. I think like many second books in a fantasy series, you finally start to get the payoff of all of the foundation laid in the first book. And pay off it did, in spades. With the deepening understanding of the myriad of magical beings and their powers, amazing action, some serious sexual tension, heartfelt moments, and so much more I enjoyed every word of this story.
In large part because I honestly had no idea what would happen moment to moment. The flow of this story was very different than I’m used to, with much of the climactic action smack in the middle, leaving me wondering what crazy stuff was still going to go down.
And while there was more action yet to come, there was also a good deal of more subtle events that started to shed more light on the meaning of everything that had happened and what was yet to come. And I can’t freaking wait.
This is the sequel to Awakened : Semiramis and is the second book of the series.
Alexia Semiramis' journey continues with the "lecture" and training by the almighty God, Lucifer. She does everything she can to rescue her beloved friends and lover. But, everything doesn't seem to go well, especially with the knowledge of betrayal by someone she trusts with all her heart. No matter what, she puts aside all her emotions and do what best to save her friends, with the help of Lucifer of course.
I enjoy reading this, and the author never fails to make me laugh. I love reading Alexia's P.O.V , she's quite a humorous one😂 *spoiler*
That Derik's betrayal was so unexpected ! I thought he really loved her , from the first book it seemed like he really did. But the truth was, he just used her. Dayum, some love stories are just too good to be real😂 Overall, an excellent book for fantasy fans! Excellent job, Maya😆
I loved the modern take on witches that was portrayed in book one and the second instalment does not disappoint! Sisterhood, love and betrayal, Lucifer, goddesses, evil warlocks and alternate realms... if you a looking for a strong female character to cheer on, then look no further than Al, as she goes on an epic rescue mission to save her missing friends. This book has some exciting twists and turns and it cannot be second-guessed, however, I was a little lost at times and would have loved a little more of a link between this book and the first one, as it was a little while since I read the first book and hence felt a little lost until my memory got jigged along the way. Nevertheless, I am really looking forward to the third book and I think the combination of kick-ass sassy ladies, magic, and the strength of friendship, just cannot be praised enough. If you like supernatural themes, then this book will not let you down (Though I'd definitely recommend you begin with the first book!)
Book II, 'Reborn', following Book I, ‘Awakened’ in the Semiramis series, plunges the reader right back into the action. Alexia, a feisty, modern young woman, bulldozes her way through one adventure after another in her quest to rescue her witch sisters who have been imprisoned in another, extremely dangerous realm. Aided and abetted by angel Lucifer, who opens portals to other weird and wonderful worlds, Alexia faces one death experience after another, rescues her sisters, and manages to come out the other end still in one piece – well, almost. Alexia's relationship with Lucifer is volatile but engaging. Other characters are intriguing and well defined. The very last person I imagined turned out to be the arch villain. Another page turning fantasy from the very talented weaver of stories, Maya Daniels.
I loved the second book in the series! Alexia is back with Lucifer, training to find a way to save her sisters. Once she opened the path to an astral dimension, I was transported to the author’s wild but crazy good imagination. Dark wizards, lanterns, magic, portals… The twists in this book were super good. You won’t see what’s coming. The humor the author instills in Alexia’s thought process will keep you highly entertained. I absolutely adored the conversations between sexy Lucifer and Alexia. With Lucifer resisting the attraction and Alexia suffering from trust issues, I wanted to keep on reading. I am looking forward to the other book in the series.
This is one of those stories that keeps you sitting on the edge of your seat the whole way through.
Alexia doesn't realize Lucifer has another reason to study her. As she goes on a journey through other realms he fights to keep her alive. He doesn't realize that his mission isn't only due to his curiosity but a budding emotion he's not used to feeling.
I love this book and the pov in which it was written. It wasn't hard to feel everything Alexia experienced. The fantasy was believable and fascinating.
After that little cliffy from the first book I knew I needed to read this one. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint. The book was fantastic.
The world she has created and overall story plot was something unique and something I haven’t read before which was refreshing. This had the right amount of action, drama, and humor along with twist and turns I hadn’t seen coming.
Loved the characters and seeing their transformation throughout the book, especially Alexia with her wit and banter, she had me laughing out loud a few time.
I really enjoyed this and I’m super excited for the next one.
Seeing how the 1st book ended I was looking forward to reading the 2nd book and the author did not disappoint. The story picks up right where it left off, the mood is a bit darker, more emotional, more personal. When reading this book, as well as the first one, you can relate to main character Alexia, she could be your next door neighbor. The story also has nice and unexpected twists, the ones where you tell yourself, now that I didn't see coming. Not to mention her interesting journey with good old Lucifer. I am not much of a reader but I did fully enjoy reading the first two books of the trilogy. Let's see what the author has in store for the finale.
Gods, goddesses, angels, witches, the holy grail, portals, magic realms, what more can you ask for? Apparently a whole LOT more! And this book delivers it! I absolutely loved reading both Awakened and Reborn! Maya Daniels has a way of captivating her readers. You can not help but to develop feelings for all the characters! The twists are exciting, and come at you fast, making this a real page turner! I'm so looking forward to the 3rd book. In the meantime I'm going to read more about Alexia in the prequel Who Am I.
I really enjoyed Reborn: Semiramis Book 2 which is a sequel to Awakened: Semiramis Book 1. Book 2 begins right where book 1 ended with Al determined to save her sisters. I really enjoyed the relationship she has with Lucifer. It is an exceptional element of the plot. The story primarily takes place in different realms, which are vivid and beautifully written. The plot is complex, but unfolds in an engaging, absorbing way. I recommend that readers start with book 1 first, to fully enjoy this series.
Just as riveting with action, mystery and magic as the first book in the Semiramis Triology, Reborn jumps right into the story where it left off. Maya has once again brought the reader into the story with fully developed characters who are completely relatable. Excellent read!
Hat's off to Maya Daniels for this 2nd installment of her series. I loved the interaction with her characters. Alexia has such a wonderful fighting spirit.
The first book was good but the second is even better. The author opened the world she is building adding a point of view from our hero which added even more depth to the storyline. Alexia's quest to find and save her sister shows the same love of sisterhood found in the first book that I enjoyed. There are more twists and turns in this book that keeps you more on the edge of your seat than the first book making this series a must read. Already looking forward to the next book.
The second book carries on where the first book finished and you see more of Alexis’ growth. This book is written in two POV’s which are clearly marked and easy to follow. The descriptions are perfect and you feel Alexis’ emotiins quite well. The story is based on friendship and Alexis certainly brings that through and you end up rooting for her at several times. The tension between Lucifer and her is clear and grows throughout the book. This is another well-written book which I fully recommend and look forward to the third book.
Grab ahold of your panties ~ it's gonna be a bumpy ride! There's so much that happens it this chapter! Daring rescues, sacrifices, love, intrigue, surprise villains - the works!
In the second full length novel of the series Seminaris is in training to save her friends from those who took them. She is fighting herself and the anger and guilt inside of her and slowly losing herself. Lucifer is doing everything he can to make her snap out of it! At the end of the fighting session, she goes into a sleep for three months. She awakens to discover Alice there and now understanding she was a friend of her grandmother’s. Once she decides to take a nap, she goes to another realm, meets Faith and realizes her friends are being held there. Now, to make Lucifer honor a promise, discover who has betrayed them, and to hopefully fight the Goddess who killed her grandmother. She also gains new allies, new friends, new powers, and is putting the pieces of the puzzle together…and what is found is unbelievable! This book is chock full of action, snark, and love! I received this book as an ARC and am leaving a voluntary review. Now on to book three!
Alexia is trying to deal her guilt and anger. It seems like it never goes away. She is training hard to get her sisters back. She gets so sick so goes into a coma. After waking, she is determined to go get them. Alexia and Lucifer go to another realm to get them. Alexia is not sure who to trust and what is really going on. Alexia feels changes happening to her, it scares her badly. She is also wondering what is going on with Lucifer. He seems to be different as well. Things will not go well for them getting everyone. Things will change even more for Alexia.
There is a lot of things that happen in this book. I didn't want to go into to much as I recommend reading this. You will be a rollercoaster ride of what happens with Alexia but others as well. You will start to see pieces of the puzzle starting to fit from first book.
I received a complimentary copy of this book and this is my honest and voluntary review.
I'll be honest, I found this one a little slow going, at the beginning. But it soon picks up pace. The story flowed and needed all that happened at the beginning, to make sense of what happens later. Al is definitely getting stronger, with Lucifer's training. She is also a very determined witch and love drives her. We learn more about her and Lucifer's role in all this. She also has to deal with betrayal, but that person is dealt with!! Lots to take in, in this book. A good read.
I am really enjoying this series. Interesting storyline and adventures for the group. The intrigue and twists keep the book moving along. Looking forward to the next.
