One summer.
One chance to forget the past.
One opportunity to make things right.

There’s no denying the heat between Jules Taylor and Foster Sutton. They are two wild souls with a fire burning inside. Together, they create a hot and dangerous mix of emotion and lust.

But after a terrible accident leaves one friend dead, Foster is bound by a secret that keeps him from getting closer to Jules. And he’s left with only one thing to offer her – friendship.

For Jules, her relationship with Foster is getting old. He falls down and she picks him up, but they never move forward. Their occasional hook-ups are no longer enough, and Jules vows that this is her summer to forget Foster and find love. If it were only that easy.

It seems fate is pushing Jules and Foster together at every turn. And it’s only a matter of time before they give up and give in.

4 Sweet, heartbreaking and New Adult Stars!

I was pleasantly surprised at how sweetly sexy this book was!

More is a companion novel for Before You Go. I read about Foster and Jules in the previous book and I was intrigued by their story and the secrecy behind it.

This is their story, and it is one filled with heartache and pain, but it is also a book about love and acceptance.

Jules has been in love with Foster since high school not that she'd ever admit that to him or anyone else. She's seen the way Foster goes through women, the way he drowns away his pain in a bottle of alcohol, he's toxic and getting involved with him would be a mistake.

But she can't help but feel a jealous pang whenever she sees how happy her best friend Tabby is with her boyfriend, Noah, and she want happiness like that for herself. Whenever it seems as if Foster might be changing for the better he does something to ruin it all, he's actions hurt her every time.

Foster adores Jules, he worships the ground she walks on. But his feelings of worthlessness keep getting in the way, he's made some big mistakes. His past is like a huge cloud hanging over his head, preventing him from pursuing a relationship with Jules.

They play this constant game of tug of war with each other, Jules constantly telling him he can do better with his life and him constantly self sabotaging his life.

Until life throws them together for two weeks. Jules gets hurt in a fight at a club, and because it's summer and her roommate is visiting her family, Foster volunteers his help. Jules grudgingly accepts, because she would never allow her friend to miss time with her family because of her.

The two weeks are meant to be completely platonic, but the minute Jules asks Foster to help her take a bath those rules are thrown to the wolves.

Jules sees a side of Foster she's never seen before, he's caring, considerate, sexy and dedicated to her. Her walls slowly start to crumble and she starts thinking about a future with Foster, something she's never done before. But mistakes from the past show their ugly face, and threaten their relationship.

Foster decides he is going to change for Jules, he's going to finally listen to her and be a better person. But a relationship built on lies is doomed, and this is proved when someone from his and Jules past decides to destroy their happiness.

This is a story about two people discovering themselves, their strengths their weaknesses, everything that they have grown up believing. It is only when Jules and Foster are apart and can face their fears alone, that they finally realise how right they are for each other.

"Well, I love you," he says in such a firm and confident way that I can't move. I don't want to move, so I start taking a million silent pictures of this moment. I want to freeze it in time; I don't want to ever forget it. Not one second. And as the shutter continues clicking away in my mind, Foster kisses me-a million tiny kisses. His own way of marking the moment.

He cheated while they dating for the first time and he was in a very bad place, they were apart for years before they got back together. The h only finds out by the end of the book, because since a major advocate against cheaters he was always afraid to tell her. He is very repentant and turned is like around and in the ends she forgives him because he is no longer that person. Anyway, still don't want to go through the heartache.

2.5 stars, wish I wasn't giving this such a low rating but I must.

I have a few bones to pick with this book. At first I was really excited about this book especially with the whole friends to lovers theme. I was expecting lots of angst. Lots of tension. Lot of emotional rigmarole going on between the pair of them. And just all the goodness that usually accompanies this genre. So my expectations were pretty high on this one.

Granted there was tension, lots of emotions and a little bit of angst but to me it didn't hit the mark because of this execution of the plot. A lot of things bothered me with the setup of this story. First all Jules and Foster have had this on and off hooking up relationship for years. They briefly dated but quickly that ended and the hooking up and friendship ensued. What I didn't like about this relationship was how Foster seemed to treat Jules as a casual hookup despite the fact that he loved her and wanted her to remain in his life. He treated her horribly and even stated it in the book but he kept on doing. He harped on the fact that he needed on his life in any capacity, but he treated her like screw buddy and nothing more. Plus he hooked with other girls during that time. Using them while kept pulling Jules in to save him.

And it all started at the beginning, and just really turned me off in a big way. He was drunk. He called her to help him out with the intent of sleeping with Jules. Yes, he needed her and wanted her and only her, but he did this multiple times in the past. Then when the hookup was over he felt guilty, pushed her away, and tried to regroup on their friendship, hurting her in the process. It was cruel what he was doing to her. I didn't like his treatment of her at all.

Granted she allowed him to treat her this way and kept on going to him every time he called her so she was partly to blame, but that didn't make the hurt any less or sympathy that I felt for her. She was deeply in love with him and it crushed her every time he treated her. She vowed that this time would be the last time. She couldn't take it anymore, but she kept wavering all the way through. She tried to stand up to him, but didn't succeed.

His hot cold attitude was really hard to swallow especially when for most of the book he tried to justify it. Yet he kept pulling her in every time. I understand he had issues that he needed work through, but just the way used her wasn't right and left a bad taste in my mouth.

Things seemingly changed for him when she was hurt and he vowed to take care of her. At times he was sweet and caring towards her, and I liked seeing that side to him, but I felt that something was missing that would have made me root for him a little bit more. I felt lust surrounding them just kind of took over their relationship, and at times I felt that was all they had going for them.

Now the passionate side of this book was the strong suit of the story. They had some insane physical chemistry between them. It was just so good see that connection between them that made me hope for their connection later on. This was the way they connected and communicated, and it was hot. I loved all the passionate scenes between them. That was when I believed in them as a couple. That was what they had going for them. That part of their relationship had no problems.

Now the emotional and other side of their relationship not so much. It just didn't feel right me. I think needed to work on a lot, and they should have. It needed shown the amount of work they needed to go through in order to be together, but instead it felt very rushed in the end and almost too easy. I had this feeling "that was it?" I felt there could have been a lot more exploration and groveling going on especially on his part. The ending was so abrupt for me.

I hated the fact that he cheated her when they dated in the past and when only they had been dating for few weeks. I understand he was scared and he didn't feel he deserved her, but that was not the right way handle his issues. And if that wasn't bad enough he kept it a secret for years and everything went to hell she found out. As should have, and she forgave him way too easily not only cheating but for the lying years upon years. No way. Cheating in my book is always a no-no in my romance reading life and this one was no exception. He just didn't act like loved her like he claimed for doing so year upon year. I didn't buy it. His treatment of her said otherwise.

Another disappointed me was that after they reunited, they never showed them making love especially when he stated in the book that they screwed never made love. So I was expecting when everything was resolved and love declared, there would have been a lovemaking scene, but there wasn't. Instead there was just a summary of how they spent the weekend reuniting in bed and that was it. Really? There wasn't a loving scene after everything. Where was the payoff? They rushed on forward and that was that.

There was a lot of things that were off putting about this story. From his treatment of her, to his reasoning behind things, to just everything that related to developing a healthy relationship between them. I wanted to like and root for them as a couple, but I just couldn't. There was just too much that went against them and they kind of work through things but not really. Now were there sweet moments between them? Yes, I wish there were more of them. Were intense moments between them? Absolutely. But there just so many reg flags that it was hard to look past them. He did a lot of things I didn't agree with and some thing were unforgivable like the cheating. That just soured me as did his treatment of her. I just couldn't get behind them as a couple. I think too if they weren't hooking for years than I might have felt differently too because that changed the dynamics of their relationship too. I think if it was just feelings between then that built up for years but nothing physical happened between them that would have softened the blow too and whole story would have had a completely tone and feeling. I would have liked that story. Just so much in this story didn't work for me.

I really liked Book #1 in this series, so I tried Book #2. Didn't like it nearly as well. I can't get over how a character that loves someone so much and can get pretty graphically into her in a bathtub, can't bring himself to be honest with her and tell her about a cheating episode that happened some time ago. So it screws up his entire life and her's, but he's afraid he'll lose her as a "friend." So messed up. Ruined the story.

It is truly pathetic how many reviews make it Jenna's fault that the weak loser couldn't keep his pants zipped up around her. It's reprehensible that the woman is blamed solely while this "H" is lauded as deserving of a HEA with the woman HE cheated on. And the woman he flaunted all his other fuckbuddies in front of for YEARS.

This loser needs a reality check to the real horrors in life and his pathetic self.

While she of course had no one but this dipshit. Yes the heroine was indeed a pining martyr fool...take your pick....who pined for him for YEARS.

These types of sexist books should just disappear forever. They are cringeworthy.

AND STOP BLAMING THE WOMAN BECAUSE THE ASSHOLE CAN'T KEEP IT IN HIS PANTS

* I kindly received an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review*

Ok I didn't like it as much i wanted to. When reading the first book i was hyped up for Foster's and Jules's story but after reading it, the excitement wore off. It was nothing what I expected and that's not in a good way either. It was just bland for me. The story didn't actually hook me. Meeehhhh.

But i think the biggest reason for me was Foster's infidelity. Like Jules I just hate cheaters(not from personal experience but i just don't like people who lie to me) and the fact that he goes on saying how he loved her but totally slept with , not my kind of thing. Actually its wrong on many levels and I hated him for that. Yes people make mistakes but those kind of mistakes are mistakes that could be stopped. If he actually did love her then yeah he wouldn't have done that. So how much Foster kept saying that he loves her and bla bla, I couldn't get over his lying. So yeah I ended up giving this a mere 2-star thanks to that. Well not only that the romance aspect of it wasn't also that gripping or anything. It just was not as good as the previous book and I didn't like the previous book also that much. Not sure about the other book though. Still holding on to Michael's story. But it looks like it won't be written :(

I want to start by saying Thank You to Clare James for giving me the opportunity to read this book. I read Before You Go (book1) before I read this one and I truly enjoyed book 1, but I have to say that I enjoyed this book even more. We are introduced to Foster and Jules in Before You Go and I was thrilled to learn that they were getting their own book. I know this book is listed as a stand alone, but I truly believe that you should read Before You Go before reading this one. You get to see how Jules and Foster interact with each other in book 1 which helps to understand their relationship in More. Plus Noah and Tabby are in this book and I feel that reading this book first would spoil Before You Go. There are secrets in book 1 that are talked about in this book, so you would know to much and it would take away from book 1. Anyway back to Foster and Jules. I thought they were a wonderful couple. Their personalities truly matched each other. I also loved their history together. Foster was such a strong support for Jules while she was going through some crap with her family. This book is truly a second chance love story because Jules and Foster dated back when they were freshman in college and then a tragic event occurs that changes their relationship/friendship for many years. During this time they remained friends but continued to fight their feelings. I loved the journey that Clare took them on. I think in the end it made them both better people individually and a stronger couple. This book was also a quick read but I have to say this one was steamier then book 1, which I liked ;) I was also glad that we got to keep tabs on Tabby and Noah in this book. Again Jenna (noah's ex) was just evil and really needed to be b*tch slapped.

I thought the flow of this book was similar to book 1 in that it was a quick read but nothing was rushed. I think the only thing I wish we would've gotten was a longer epilogue to wrap up all the stories between Jules and Foster and Noah and Tabby. But still this was a great read and I am glad I read it.

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a sweet second chance love story without all the extra outside drama.

I really love this one!! Clare James did a fabulous job. I rate this one a 4.5

This is the second book in this series. I did like the first book with Noah and Tabbie, but this one with Jules and Foster was amazing.

I felt connected immediately with them, I loved the dual POV it just made the book. I absolutely loved loved Foster from the beginning. He just broke my heart on how much he loved Jules even though he didn't feel worthy of her. I did love that Jules was no push over, she is strong after everything she has been through.

The writing was okay but I did NOT care for the Hero at all. I don’t mind cheating in a book as long as the characters can be redeemed. I don’t feel like Foster redeemed himself or even explained his cheating in a satisfactory way. The ending felt very rushed and I don’t feel like anything was really resolved so much as it was just ignored.

This book was on my "next" shelf in my Kindle and I decided to give it a go. This book was a freebie, but I already read books by this author.
So... this was just an ok read for me. It didn't amaze me or kept me entertained long enough to read it in one sitting.
It's a quick read that is mostly centered around Foster and Jules. Everything happens around a secret that Foster keeps from Jules for a long time and he thinks that secret will destroy the relationship they have now.
It's a double POV, showing that Foster loves Jules but is afraid to lose her because of that secret and because of that, he does everything to push her away when things get hot between them, even if it means hurting her feelings.
Jules was just boring, every time Foster messed up, she swore she'd never come back to him and after just one touch from him, she was back to being used and forgetting the promises she made for herself. It was really annoying, even though everything was explained on Foster's POV, she didn't know he secretly always loved her and she just allowed herself to be used and discarded again and again.
After that bar fight (that let me tell you, it's not at all how it's described, "after broken bones" means a broken wrist.)... Anyway, after that incident, Foster moves in with Jules to help her (even though she had just a broken wrist) and that's when things change between them.

Anyway... it's a quick read, I didn't quite connect with the characters or with the story so it was just ok for me.
But, I like this author and I'll be on the lookout for more freebies from her. :)

I was given the opportunity to review this book. Thank you Clare. It could be read as a stand alone but I decided to read Before you go first. I was glad that I did because I think it added to the depth of Foster and Jules.

Foster and Jules have known each other forever and both want the same thing but are afraid to be open to the possibility in fear of getting hurt.

I knew there was a secret with Foster but I was not prepared for the humdinger that it was but it is crazy what low self-esteem and low self-worth can do to someone. With this combo it can make a person weak then you add Jenna the she-bitch who prays on weakness to make herself feel better this can equate for not so great reality with the potential to hurt the people Foster loves AKA Jules.

But with Foster and his own issues pushes Jules away and parties his life away.

For Jules she will always love Foster but needs to move on but then reality or aka Fate has other plans and forces them together which finally unleashes the love that they both feel but a clean slate is the way to go because secrets always come out to destroy.

Once the truth is out is there a possibility to move on? But to move on first there needs to be forgiveness as well as healing old issues.

I am not sure if Jenna is going to get her own story but it will need to be quite the story for me to find the love for her but I know people act they way they act because of their own issues but still she will be a hard pill to swallow.

Big fan of forgiving and moving on thank goodness Jules has a big enough heart to see the true Foster.

There’s no denying the heat between Jules Taylor and Foster Sutton. They are two wild souls with a fire burning inside. Together, they create a hot and dangerous mix of emotion and lust.

Foster and Jules are so perfect together - they have the best banter and their chemistry is off the charts. What I love most about this series is that the guys who seem totally badass are actually really sweet and caring which gives them a lot more depth I think. Foster has a hidden secret throughout this book and while things are hinted at throughout, it isn't until Noah (yes, he reappears!) confronts Foster about Jules that you find out why he is so hesitant to start a relationship with his obvious soulmate.

These books are great quick romantic reads and if you don't mind a few explicit sex scenes scattered throughout, then this is definitely worth the read!

I enjoyed this book A LOT then again I have a thing for guys with tattoos. Right away you can feel the passion between Jules and Foster. I feel kinda bad for Foster not having any friends except for Jules but he caused that himself. There is so much hurt from their past and they have helped each other and they both see the good. I cried at the end as a happy cry. I can see myself reading this again.

I am the author of the new adult romance, MORE.

This is a companion story to BEFORE YOU GO, but can be read as a stand-alone novel. My companion stories are written without cliffhangers and can be read in any order.

Reviewers say MORE is HOT, sexy, and fun ... with a very intense bathtub scene :)

I hope you enjoy it!

This novel was good. The thing with Jenna really bothered me though, especially the speech at the end, that Jules gives her. It's like c'mon you never were friends and Jenna wasn't a nice girl if she sleeps with your boyfriend while you are suppose to be supporting each other over a tragedy. What a POS!

A second chance and friends to lovers story.
*Also titled More #Impossible love with an alternative cover.

I enjoyed this book and read it in one sitting. I love a friends to lovers story and although the whole thing was cliche were they are friends with benefits and denying anything more so they don't spoil their friendship you can't help but wait for the moment were they will both finally realise that it's time to take the plunge and be honest with each other.

Foster and Jules have been friends since high school. Foster adores Jules, but he is a guy who also doesn't see himself as good enough for her after a brief fling years before they then decided to just be friends. Foster then went on to make some some big mistakes. His past is like a huge cloud hanging over his head, preventing him from pursuing a relationship with Jules.
Jules also adores Foster and has had to watch him get it on with numerous girls. It was sad how she took the scraps when Foster was drunk, scenes were she would be putting him to bed and because he was horny she would take the kisses and the loving and then they would go back to just friends in the morning when Foster wouldn't remember the night before.

There was a constant game of tug of war with each others hearts, Jules constantly telling him he can do better with his life and him constantly self sabotaging his life with drink and women.
The big turnaround comes when Jules hurts her arm in a bar and finds herself needing help to dress, with her other best friend away that only leaves Foster to tend to her, dress her, bath her and the more time they spend with one another the more their feelings become more open to each other.
Foster needs a Hallelujah moment before he see's whats in front of him and he finally gets it and his girl.

A good story, it definitely wasn't a Rom Com as stated in the blurb on Amazon but I enjoyed it, it wasn't without it's frustrations either with the characters but it all comes out good in the end.
I haven't read any other books by this author and I found the writing easy to read, told in first person and everything was balanced out just right, the hotness, the drama's and there was no dull moments or moments of boredom in the plot. I will definitely read more from this author.

A good freebie on Amazon and I am glad I got the chance to sample this authors work, looking forward to reading more in the series.

More, by Clare James, is the sequel to Before You Go. This novel is told in dual narration, in the perspectives of the two main characters, Foster Sutton and Jules Taylor. Foster is a Native American from the Ojibwe people, who is searching his roots from his father's side of the family, but never was interested before. He is interested in Culinary Arts, and decides to intern for the summer in a Bistro down the street. Jules is a student Interning for the summer at D&D and Associates, a law firm. She loves photography, but doesn't believe in herself to go that route, so chooses a more, "Kick Ass" type of job, and find herself a summer fling to pull her heart away from her all consuming love for Foster. Foster is the perfect man, and the perfect lover, if he could only get back to the man he was before the accident. This was a lust filled, explosive, amazingly sexy novel, with life lessons, learning to forgive, accept, and move on to love again! There is an accident that Ms. James tells the reader about that has affected all the characters in one way or another. They all have their challenges, and their guilt and torment, for what they could have and should have done, and a lot of what ifs.

Foster cannot deal with what part in played in this accident of his good friend Ben, so he calms the pain in his heart, by drinking himself under the table over and over again, drowning his sorrow, and becoming a man whore. He just cannot move on from the day of the accident. There are so many girls in and out of his bedroom, but only one girl in his heart, Jules. Foster doesn't feel he is deserving of Jules, so he plays out the life he thinks he deserves. He has an empty existence, and the only saving grace in his life is the secret, "Friends with Benefits" relationship he has with Jules, the girl of his dreams. Noah, a secondary character, is Foster's old roommate, that finally got tired of his lifestyle, and kicked him out when he found out his secret, that could destroy their mutual friend, Jules, and he threatens Foster with telling Jules, if they have anything more than a friendship. Noah's girlfriend is Jules best friend and roommate, Tabby. The two of them are madly in love, though they have been through their fair share of drama. Though Foster feels he is undeserving of Jules, he still doesn't want anyone else to have her, so he ruins every situation with another man that arises. A few nights before Jules starts working at D & D, there is a fist fight at a bar between Foster and a guy, Jake, that gets too close and seductive with Jules. Foster goes into a jealous rage. It just so happens that, Jake, is an associate at D & D, and they will be spending the summer working together, and it pushes Foster to straighten out his act. This little fight lands Jules in bed for two weeks with a broken arm when Jake lands on top of her, and gives Foster a foot in the door, and the opportunity to try to win her over, while her roommate, Tabby, is out of town seeing her family.

Jules is a feisty, energetic, bundle of fiery passion, no holds barred, straight shooter, full of gumption, endless vitality, edgy breath of fresh air, who has been in love with Foster since high School. Though they have had a lot of ups and downs, these two characters share a bond that is unbreakable. Growing up, Jules was abused by one of her mother's lovers, and Foster saves her, and nurtures her back to life again. Foster is her protector, but at the same time, he does really stupid things to sabotage his relationship with Jules every time he thinks things are getting too serious. Foster is undercover in love with Jules, but doesn't allow himself that gift, because he feels Jules deserves more, but he doesn't realize that he is Jules everything. Jules won't let Foster know how she really feels, because she thinks Foster is a playboy, and doesn't have the same deep feelings that she has, but hopes someday that will change. Jules will not tolerate cheating in a relationship, and Foster will do anything, to keep Jules in his life. He never wants to jeopardize his friendship with her for any reason, so he tries not to cross the line there.

Foster decides to volunteer at, The New Day Counseling Center, working with kids who have lost a loved one from drunk driving, etc, like his friend Ben. This part of the novel was heart warming, to see into the sensitive side of Foster. I could see why Jules would fall madly in love with him. His romantic side left nothing to be desired. This guy knew himself well around the bedroom too ladies! There is a great cast of primary and secondary characters with multi-dimensional depth and qualities. They all play an important role in this, by the seat of your pants, novel, that captivated my heart. This includes the antagonists too. Ms. James has created a Taste the Heat, passion filled, true to life, tutorial in the mind of a man driven by lust and obsession. This will grab your heart, and not let go straight through from beginning to end. I...wanted..more! Jules and Foster have an undying link to each other, and are always there for each other no matter the circumstances of what is going on in their lives. It was a great job, well done.

Foster and Jules grow so much in this novel, and learn to give each other, More, of what each of them yearn for, Love. They both become more compassionate, caring, loving people that the reader will root for. This book had just the right amount of "Something-Something!" I give More, by Clare James, 5, Self-Igniting, Hot, Hot, Hot, Give me a Fist-Pump, Full of Lust and Surprises, Stars!!!

FAVORITE QUOTE:

"I don't want to stop all of this in three nights. I don't want to stop at all. F*** the countdown, Jules. I want to do this for real." "You a**h***," I say, slapping his chest. "Why couldn't you say that right away?" "What fun would that be?" "Foster cups the back of my head. He's so close I can feel his breath on me. "I hate you," I whisper. "Well, I love you," he says in such a firm ad confident way that I can't move. I don't want to move, so I start taking a million silent pictures of this moment. I want to freeze it in time; I don't want to ever forget it. Not one second. And as the shutter continues clicking away in my mind, Foster kisses me--a million tiny kisses. His own way of marking the moment. "I love you, too," I finally tell him. He stops his kisses to look at me and a dozen emotions seem to pass over his face all at once before landing somewhere in the land of lust. It's incredibly hot, but also a little scary." ~Jules

★★★★★ GLORIOUS STARS

Perfect, perfect, perfect! More was everything I was hoping it would be. It takes us into the world of Foster Sutton and Jules Taylor and lets us see where the friendship began, how a young love blossomed and then just as soon withered under a heap of regret and buried secrets.

Jules and Foster have been friends since their early teens, they know things about each other that binds them together and holds their friendship intact no matter what, but they have also been more- unfortunately that relationship was short lived and fell apart after a tragic accident left them heading in different directions, and each finding different ways to cope.

Foster Sutton has been living in regret the past two years, while he drowns his misery in booze and women he knows he can always count on one person to pick him up again, the one person he can't let out of his life, and the one and only person he wants more with but can't have- Jules Taylor. And Jules has always been there, even though each time she goes and drags Foster out of the gutter a part of her shatters- she still always goes- because he has no one else, and because it's Foster... and she loves him.

"I want to take away his pain- at least for a little while. But I've been trying to do that for the last two years and nothing changes. We never move forward. We never get back to that place we were before the accident. Before everything went to hell."

Jules is done this time though, she's tried and failed time and again. She can't continue on a friends with benefits dead end road with Foster and can't continue to be his crutch when he's down, so this summer she has vowed to forget Foster Sutton and move on with life, find love. She is taking an internship with a law firm and until that starts she is going to live up to her wild-child ways- let her hair down and enjoy being fun Jules until responsible lawyer Jules makes an official appearance. But it seems that no matter how much she tries to keep Foster out of her life fate seems to keep him firmly rooted there and the magic eight ball seem to also suck at keeping him out of her bed!

More, is the companion novel to Before You Go, and even though this can be read as a stand alone, I found that it connected the missing pieces and unanswered questions that I had from Before You Go. If you haven't read BYG and are just picking up More don't worry Mrs. James does a wonderful job catching you up with the characters (Tabby and Noah) and events the occurred in the previous book and you're not missing anything crucial just getting a brief version of their background story. For those that have had the pleasure of reading Before You Go, we get a to see Tabby and Noah again, see how they're progressing, and also a deeper look into Foster and Noah's friendship. Although reading BYG first is not a prerequisite to enjoy More, having done so made the experience that much more fulfilling to me having previously established an intimate connection with the characters.

Foster and Jules are a hot mess, that broke my heart one minute had me laughing the next and I couldn't stop reading until their story concluded. Foster living in complete self loathing and blaming himself for not only the accident but living daily with the colossal mistake he made which seemed to result in a domino effect of a messed up two years. And Jules for just being in limbo and not really moving on from Foster but always just watching him deteriorate from the sidelines. However when forced together, and the walls that they have built to protect their friendship begin to come down and true feeling can no longer be hidden the chemistry and desire they have for each other ignites and is INSANE! And just in case you doubt me read the book and tell me its not after the bath scene....

UGH. Jenna. I wish I could write this review and not mention her but unfortunately I can't. Jenna... I know that I have hated characters in books before, but I'm not sure that I have ever detested one as much as I do Jenna. Who is she? Well for me in a nutshell she is the missing link between both books and now that I know what I didn't about her I hate her all the more. Other than the accident that resulted in the death of her brother, Jenna is the reason that that friendships have been destroyed and promises made. But wherever there is a wicked witch there is a princess and in this case that princess came in a pixie spitfire named Jules that decided she was going to take the high road, accept and start moving forward.

"I know there's still something good in there Jenna. The girl I used to know...And I want you to know, if she's ever interested in talking I'm here" Then walk away feeling better than I've felt in so long.

Like I said More was everything I was hoping it would be. It was a story about accepting, about moving on and letting go of a past that you cannot change. It's about self-growth and shows that actions have reactions and harsh consequences, but that we do have the power to change the outcome of our futures if we try hard enough...for the right reasons, or in some cases the right person. Clare James is truly a talented author, she has captivated me yet again with her flawless writing style, her lovable complex characters and gripping story lines, I look forward to seeing what her talented creative mind will conjure up for us next!

*I’d like to thank Clare James for a copy of More in exchange for an honest review*

A few months ago, a lovely lady called Clare James emailed me and asked if I would like to review a copy of Before You Go, her debut novel. Yes, I would love to, was my reply and I loved the book. You can see my review HERE and that Noah was my Mancandy Monday a few weeks ago HERE.

A few weeks back she emailed me again asking if I would love to review More, the story of Jules and Foster. Well yesss, of course I would. I really liked them both in Before You Go and I knew that there story would captivate me just like Noah and Tabby’s did. About three weeks ago (yes a late review) was not a good week for me. I was in a funk; a downer mood and I didn’t know how to get out of it. I decided to pick up More and just pour myself into reading this book, hoping to god that Jules and Foster would help me through it.

Can I just say that they had a helping hand in my downer mood disappearing? And of course I have let Clare know this too. I didn’t want to put the book down. I was reading it wherever I could because Jules and Foster are awesome together. I couldn’t stop reading, More was slowly lifting my mood up and I have to say it included everything. You had sexy times, I cried, I swooned, I loved the strength of Jules, the vulnerability of Foster but I loved that despite everything in their pasts, they were still ‘friends’ even if they ‘couldn’t’ be together, they still loved one another and were still there for each other.

Clare James makes you care for both Foster and Jules, and you still love Tabby and Noah in the mean while too.

We meet Jules and Foster in Before You Go and I am so glad they got their own story because there is so much to them. They met in high school, becoming fast friends and they have been with each other since. Jules has loved Foster since high school and the older they got, her feelings intensified and her and Foster began a relationship. But one night changed everything and her and Foster broke up.

Foster began to drown himself in alcohol, but what happened wasn’t the one reason why he was drinking, he did something bad, so bad that he cannot tell Jules because it would break their friendship up. Just like it did with Noah and him. He doesn’t feel worthy of Jules but one summer changes everything between them.

It’s a summer of love, forgiveness but also heartbreak and pain. Will Jules and Foster get a happily ever after?

Jules is strong character. You could definitely see it in Before You Go and you can see it in More. She does have a vulnerability to her, but that is where Tabby helped her out, made her go to this unconventional group meeting every week and it helps Jules overcome what happened in her past. Helps her to meet people who have been through loss and self-harming and abuse. For everything Jules had been through, shes a tough cookie, getting through to the other side with her friends there to support her.

Enter Foster. He and Jules have been friends for many years. They were and to some extent inseparable. Jules has loved him for a long time and although they tried the whole relationship thing, it ended because of Foster and his secret – which Jules has never found out. Jules is always there for Foster, through his boozing and the pain he harbours, trying to make him see that the accident wasn’t his fault, but that’s not why he drinks and he can’t tell her. He uses alcohol as an escape – as escape that he cant ever have Jules the way he wants her. You can see just how much Jules loves Foster, how much she wants him as her own, wants to help him out but it comes to a point where she realizes this will never happen. That she won’t have Foster again and so this summer is all about finding someone new. If only to have what Tabby and Noah have – that true, glorious love. But what about Foster? What does he feel about this?

Oh Foster. He really is a book boyfriend in my eyes. Sexy as hell but a wounded soul. Overcome with the memories of the past and alcohol seems to take that away, if only for a little while. He uses girls to take the pain away too and that is what stings Jules a little bit. Foster loves Jules, he would do anything for her, but in order for his secret to be kept, Noah told Foster to stay away, but he can’t. He needs to be with Jules – and friendship is all that he can offer her despite the fact he would like more. You see him battle with himself over Jules. He wants her but he cant. She wants him but she thinks he doesn’t want her. These two really give you the run around and you can’t help but want them to just be together.

When Jules injures herself, this is when the two of them spend all this time together. You see Foster caring for Jules, you see his jealousy over the guy she works with but you see him making something of himself. Interning in a restaurant and actually doing something he loves. The two of them have 14 nights together, just to be themselves and do whatever they want with each other, before Noah and Tabby come back from their vacation, but what will happen in those 14 nights? And what will happen when the secret comes out? Will it destroy their relationship?

Before i began More, Clare James mentioned a bath scene…can i just say…UH YES FRICKING PLEASE. Hottest scene i have read in a lonnnng while. Dear god, i need me a Foster!!

Anyway, If you have yet to read Before You Go – please do! Read Tabby and Noah’s story, then come back and read More – read about Foster and Jules, because you will love them and want to know more about them when you read Before You Go.

3.5 Stars! More is the companion novel to Before You Go. We got to see more of the relationship between Jules and Foster, and how they each dealt with the accident that mars their history.

Summary:
Jules Taylor and Foster Sutton have been friends for a long time. They met their sophomore year of high school, and each secretly fell for the other at first sight. They, along with Noah, start as just friends, fearing the other doesn't want more, but it's impossible not to see the sizzle between them. Finally, their senior year they decide to take their strong bond to the next level, but before they can really begin, tragedy strikes. When an accident leaves one friend dead, the friends are torn apart, and Foster keeps a secret that also keeps him from having Jules. Jules deals with the accident by using self-injury, but begins finding her way back, but Foster feels guilt over leaving the party when he was supposed to be DD and for what he did long before the party. He starts drinking, partying, drugs, women; but cant seem to find his way out of his dark place. Soon, Noah wants nothing to do with him, and Jules is taking care of him as best she can without getting her heart broken. For a while, Jules lets Foster use her and her body to help forget, but before long its not enough. She needs more and for reasons she cant figure out, Foster wont or cant give it to her. They remain friends, but wary, even though Foster would give anything to be with Jules. Fate is about to play a role in getting these two lovebirds together. When a misunderstanding takes place at a bar, Jules is caught in the middle and in the process, breaks her hand. Fortunately, she lives with Tabby, but Tabby is leaving to visit family in Illinois soon. The only option is to have Foster care for her. Foster jumps all over it, because he's decided he deserves Jules, he's the only one who can give her what she needs. Jules agrees because she cant keep Tabby from making up with her family. Foster is committed to keeping things platonic and slowly working his way into Jules' heart, but Jules has other ideas. She cant keep her dirty thoughts at bay and proposes a two week arrangement of just sex. Foster agrees if only to open the door, but he has no intention of giving her up at two weeks. For a couple of days, things are great, but Foster gets nervous about convincing Jules he's changed and Jules interprets it as him pulling away, again, but she's had enough and sets a date with a man at the law firm she is interning at. Foster is less than thrilled, but makes his intense feelings very. Known when Jules comes home. Their relationship is progressing steadily, and they are getting to know new things about each other. Tabby surprises a more surprised Jules and Foster by coming home early, and Foster has to straighten things out with Noah or risk him spilling his secret to Jules and he'd lose her for sure. Unfortunately, his secret shows on purpose and spills her guts just to hurt Jules. Jules is devastated and turns her back on Foster. Foster's first thought is to drown his sorrows like he wants, but he realizes he has to reach for his dreams because no one else will. He sets out to do just that, and his end goal is to hopefully win back Jules' heart. Jules has spiraled into a depression almost as deep as after the accident. Can her friends, family and even Foster (if only as pictures) reach her before she descends too deep? Will the love Foster and Jules have always shared rise from the ashes of tragedy and betrayal to become stronger and more binding before they lose each other permanently?

I loved Foster. I think he had a lot of problems, and frankly, I was very upset with how Noah treated him. I think Noah turning his back on Foster when he could have used the help and support of a friend was just as much a tragedy as the accident that started it all. Jules was such a little spitfire. I loved her passion and her unfailing love of Foster despite his issues. They were great together. I would really love an extended epilogue for both couples to see how their futures played out, and maybe get a glimpse into Tabby's brother, Michael's life, and even though I hate her, Jenna's future. great read. Ms. James did a great job on both books. <3

Favorite Quote(s):
“That’s the thing—your heart can be bleeding on the inside and nobody knows. You’re just expected to get on with it—even though it burns like a son of a b*tch.”
“I sigh at the cutest scene in my living room. Foster is curled up on the couch with a big bowl of popcorn watching Ratatouille. The big, tough man.”
Favorite Character: Tabby.
First Line:
“I bite my lip when his tattoo peeks out from under his shirt.”
My Musings: Clare James seems to have a penchant for having beautiful covers. So after I finished Before You Go, which I absolutely loved, I just had to give her newest novel, More, a try. After reading about the novel, I saw that it followed Tabby’s best friend, Jules. I was ecstatic to read more about Jules as a person, as well as to have my Tabby and Noah fix.
More, as stated above, follows the life of Jules, Tabby’s best friend. Jules has been pining over her friend-with-benefits, Foster, ever since high school. So when an accident leaves Jules in Forster’s care for two weeks, things start heating up. Can they keep their feelings hidden for much longer? And what happens when Jules finds out Foster’s secret that just may ruin everything?
If I’m going to be completely honest, I was surprised by the characters in this novel. Clare James managed to create characters that were on the completely opposite end of the personality spectrum than the characters in Before You Go. Jules was entirely different than Tabby. Although I loved Tabby, Jules made her own home in my heart. Jules was a spit fire. She was spunky and always spoke her mind. She wasn’t afraid of what people thought of her. She loved hard, and although she had a slight potty mouth, it was hard not to love her. She grew as a character over the course of the novel, and came to terms with some things from the past.
“Foster runs the back of his hand along my cheek, and I swear I see the guy I fell in love with back in high school. The kind, funny, impossibly gorgeous—Foster.”
Foster…well, I’m not really sure how I feel about him. He was quite the sex oriented character. It was quite the turn off at various points during the novel. Things would start seeming serious then bam! Some sort of perverted though. He had some problems, but he eventually pulled it together. He definitely wasn’t perfect; in fact, he was far from it. He made some bad decisions, but the good thing is that he tried to make them right. He fought for what he wanted. And although he reminded me of a horny high schooler, he was an alright character.
“It’s that moment when I know. I love him. I love Foster. More than anything, and not because he saved me from my past or because he’s always been there or because he was my first crush. I love him right now, for everything that he is.”
Foster and Jules complemented each other well, with their passion and snarkiness. Although they didn’t have as many sweet moments, they showed their love in different ways; and to be honest, if they had a lot of sweet moments, I would have thought them to be out of character. They had a sort of dysfunctional romance that was perfect for the two of them.
I absolutely loved seeing more Tabby. I just love that girl so much. She was really a great supporting character in this novel. She always had Jules’ back, and it was nice to see her taking care of Jules like Jules did for her in Before You Go. It really gave more insight into the workings of their friendship. And we even saw some of Michael again!
I like the dual points of view in this novel. Although sometimes I felt myself dreading some of Foster’s chapters, I eventually grew used to it. His was just so much more…dirty than Jules’ chapters, and that took a while for me to get used to. But it was nice to see the inner workings of both of their minds. Especially because they could come off as a little crazy!
Overall, More was a fantastic sophomore novel for the amazing Clare James. A drama filled and passionate read, More left me completely satisfied.

This author gave me this book in exchange for an honest review and I honestly enjoyed it...
This is a companion novel to the first, Before You Go, remember that one???

Now here is my review for

This book was just as good as the first one. It kept me entertained, it was an easy read, and it was just the kind of book I needed to read. It gave me a happily ever after and put me in a good mood.

The story was told in Foster and Jules POV and I am glad I got a good look inside their minds.
Even if they are both dirty little whores ;)

Jules was one of my faves in Before You Go so I was excited I got to read more about her in this one. If I could choose a friend to hang out with, Jules would be that person. Her personality matches a lot in what I see in myself..
She is still dealing with her past and what happened with the accident and her other demons. She has been in love with Foster forever but unfortunately they haven't gone past friends with sometimes benefits zone because they are both scared.
Foster is scared of never being good enough and Jules is just scared of Foster in general.

The electricity between Foster and Jules is combustible and freaking HOT..
There were times where I needed to fan myself and my vajayjay after reading it...
WHOAA baby
But of course after they are on the right track something happens (more like someONE gets in between them and let the drama resume).

It all started off with a secret that Foster has been hiding from Jules and the reason he never pursued a relationship with Jules.
I thought that the secret Foster was keeping from Jules was a little anticlimatic but after reading some more about Jules and what her opinion of guys are in general, I got why Foster was nervous about telling her, but I still didn't think it should have mattered because it happened in the past.

Along with being a super steamy read, it was also very funny.
There were a lot of scenes where I was cracking up at something either Jules or Foster said.

"Her law firm, what is it? Dicks and Dildos?”
“Dildos and Dicks.” Tabby laughs.
“Get it straight, will you?”

SEEEE haha funny

This book just really put me in a good mood, it's good to read if you have been reading books with too much angst and not enough happy.

More gives you happy, funny, a little sad but overall sweet and sassy.

I am looking forward to reading more from this author.
I believe her books are getting better and better and I hope that we can get a book about that big whore-bitch, Jenna. I want to know what the hell crawled up her ass and died besides the obvious, of course. Mean girls are so last year so she needs to get her happy on..PRONTO or maybe she just needs to get laid reeeaallll good because that honestly fixes me when I'm being bitchy (thanks hubs)!!

I give this book a 4/5 and if you want to check it out yourself but remember to buy Before You Go first..

I'd read Before You Go by Clare James some time back and really enjoyed the story. It was authentic and it stayed with me. So I was pretty excited to start the companion novel to it as I had been waiting for Jules and Foster's story as soon as I'd finished Before You Go. The tension between them was present in the last book and it just got all the more hotter in More. I really enjoyed delving into More.

Jules and Foster had been together before a terrible accident which left one of their friend dead. It seemed like their relationship died after that too. They still remain friends but there's a constant push and pull between them and the sizzling chemistry that they can't ignore. I loved Jules. She was completely in love with Foster but she never let him trample over her. She was strong and she wanted a relationship with Foster but not without sacrificing her dignity.

Foster was a complicated guy. He had a horrible past which makes him doubt anything good which happens in his life. He clearly loves Jules but he think he's unworthy of her and she can find someone much better. But when Jules suddenly decides to move on from Foster, he comes face to face with his biggest fear of losing her for good this time. Foster had a lot of issues to work through.

I could guess what his big mistake was which was keeping him from completely being open with Jules but it was all shown brilliantly. The chemistry between Foster and Jules burns hot from the first page itself. They are like two puzzle pieces fitting together perfectly. The understand each other and want what's best for the other. I loved all the conversations between Jules and Foster. You could see how easily they got each other and how much they cared.

I also really enjoyed seeing Tabby and Noah's relationship flourish in this one. Tabby was a great and loyal best friend to Jules, always being there for her. More was a short and quick read which goes on from both Jules and Foster's point of view. I loved seeing how they both worked through their issues and finally found their way to each other. Clare James is an awesome author and if you love New Adult you should definitely check her books out.
