1. Win over the citizens (who are caught up in a drug-fueled daze). 2. Recover the magical artifacts of my royal line (which are hidden behind a squad of brutal guards). 3. Draw on the love of the three most extraordinary men I've ever met (one of whom is held captive by a tyrant queen).
Okay, I've got my work cut out for me. But my people and my lovers are counting on me. I won't give up this wondrous land that feels more like a home than the world I grew up in ever did.
There's a new queen in town. The Hearts and Diamonds had better get ready to bow down.
*Wanton Wonderland is the third and final book in a medium-burn reverse harem series that reimagines Alice in Wonderland. If you love spirited heroines, hot men with secrets to spare, and worlds full of unexpected delights and horrors, step through the looking-glass today!*

You'd say that at some point someone who has read as many Wonderland retellings as I have should grow tired of them. But it seems that as long as authors bring in something original and really tell their own tale, there's no way I will ever get enough of them. I love Wonderland, I love the possibility of a world where weird things are normal and I most of all love the promise that we can reach it from our world if only we happen to find the right rabbit hole or the right mirror.
Eva Chase wrapped up her trilogy very nicely in this last book. Every loose strand and every possible question was tied and answered in this last book. All the small things that had happened and that Lyssa had done, all the people we've encountered, everything Theo, Hatter and Chess have said and done and endured: It all came into play and was important, leading somewhere.
I love how this story was told from both Lyssa's and her guys' point of views. It not only helped us to get to know the guys a little better (and to fall even more in love with them), but it also made sure we had the entire picture of what was going on, of what was important, of what was actually happening and what was coming.
It also made sure that the book was never boring. Even though the epic fight took a lot of preparation there was so much happening and going on that it stayed interesting. I liked the politics and the schemes. I also liked the plans going wrong, people having to regroup and rethink. And I mostly liked how each character had their own fight to win, no matter how small.
The Looking-Glass Curse certainly is one of my favorite Wonderland retellings and I can't wait to read more books by Eva Chase.
Well. That ending was anticlimactic. I'm actually kind of disappointed that this reverse harem was such a letdown considering these men are just ... just downright perfect in their wonderland perfect ways.
And everything wrapped up a little to tightly and to quick for my liking.
It took me a long time to finish this book and I really wanted to love it. This is a three star series 3 stars for me means I didn’t regret reading it, but I don’t really recommend it. If you find it on your own, it’s not a total waste of time, but I’m not gonna waste my time pushing it. Yes, it’s reverse harem but this book gives YA vibes. I find it to be exceedingly predictable and very wholesome if you’re war it’s OK for people to die and things to be complex. The characters were very one-dimensional. The spice is so PG, I had much higher hopes….. the potential was there
I will admit, I was disappointed with this series. I have enjoyed Eva Chase's Valkyrie series and I am a sucker for Alice in Wonderland retellings, so I figured I couldn't lose wit this series. Now that it is over, I can't help but feel it was just lackluster. Looking at the series as a whole, I think I probably gave a higher rating to the second in the series just because I WANTED to love it and figured I would snap out of it. Normally, I would have finished this in one day, but ended up dragging it out.
Note: I received this book from the author and I voluntarily give this review, it is my honest opinion.
My brain works in weird ways. The Looking Glass Curse series is an Alice in Wonderland series retelling and I am just realizing with the third book that the word "in" is not in any of the book titles. That's right, my brain just inserted the word into the titles and I didn't realize it, maybe it's because the original had the word, I don't know.
Anyway the third and final book in the Looking Glass Curse series is Wanton Wonderland (bet you wanted to include "in" as well ;) ) and it was the best book in the series, I absolutely loved it.
In the previous book Lyssa and the Spades had defied the Queen of Hearts rule by setting free her prisoners and causing complete cautious but everything didn't end so smoothly. Theo is stuck in the palace with the Queen, Lyssa has been sent back to Otherland and the Spades don't have a leader. When Lyssa finally makes it back to Wonderland things aren't good. Theo is still in the palace, the Spades are in hiding and the Queen has set in motion an evil plan that might not only bet the rebellion but destroy Wonderland forever. It's gonna be up to Lyssa to defeat the Queen of Hearts, take back her throne and become the Red Queen Wonderland so desperately needs.
Wanton is the best book in the series for so many reasons. The characters are really good and I already have a connection to them (I love Chess), the writing was seamless and the plot kept moving forward. I enjoyed every single second of this book and I was really curious to see how they would win the rebellion.
Lets talk characters. Lyssa has come so far, she started the series just trying to get away from all the responsibilities she had in Otherland (there was a lot) and when she found out she was the rightful queen she didn't really know if she wanted to step-up. Lyssa followed others ideas and was pretty much stuck in her shell. As the series went on she change and by the time we made it Wanton Lyssa has now grown into her leadership role quite well. She feels like she belongs and want to serve her people and defeat the queen.
One of the things I liked about the relationship between Lyssa and her guys was that being around her made them better and they gave her the support she need throughout the series. Lyssa's guys have all changed in good ways and you see it more than ever in this final book.
Wanton Wonderland was a fun read and the pages just flew past. The plot was so good, between the steamy scenes and the action there wasn't any down time. My interest held all the way though the book. There was so much going on, risky plans, family drama, danger from the Queen of Hearts, steamy encounters, mysterious plots and so much more. How could I not love it and Eva manage to wrap-up the series quite nicely. I am looking forward to her next reverse harem I believe it may have to do with a character from a certain detective story.
Wanton Wonderland is the final installment of The Looking-Glass Curse series which is essence is an errotic retelling of Alice Through the Looking Glass/In Wonderland. After a battle that Lyssa hurdling back to her "home"realm, she fights her way back to her lovers and friends to retake Wonderland.
I am not going to go too in depth in to the plot as I do not want to give anything away. The whole series veers, obviously, from the original books, because I mean the originals did not have threesomes. Or maybe it did and I blocked that out of my memory. But the series was an interesting cheeky take on the original stories.
This installment in my opinion was very rushed. As a solo book I felt that so much more could have been done with this or the first two installments could have just been made longer to include. I felt there were somethings that were just lacking in this one that let me unsatisfied. The dialogue fell off the mark in this one. The battles were rushed. Character interactions rushed. I understand that time is of the essence, but I really could have done with out the random hook ups to get more story and then end off with... well how the book ended. 😆.
So to make a long review short, this one was disappointing (2.5 stars) but overall the whole series is about 3.5 stars for me. Give it a read if your into this sort of thing. There is definitely triggers in this with regards to drug addiction, physical and emotional abuse, rape and torture. So again give it a go but be weary when venturing through this portal. OOOOOO
I love it when s book’s blurb can describe something spectacular and be 100% accurate. That’s certainly the case with the blurb for Eva Chase’s Wanton Wonderland (The Looking-Glass Curse Book 3). This retelling of the classic Alice in Wonderland is recognizable for its origin source but a totally and wonderfully imaginative variation. It is also most definitely a book for anyone interested in “spirited heroines, hot men with secrets to spare, and worlds full of unexpected delights and horrors”. Our leading lady, Lyssa, truly is a spirited heroine who has finally and most definitively come into her own. She has an evil Queen to take on and a throne to recover in this story that’s full of wonderful action and adventure and a slow burn reverse harem romance that finally reaches its full potential. For those who have been following the series be happy as it gets the finale it deserves. For newcomers, you can read this as s standalone but don’t as you’re vastly better off starting with book 1 (thoroughly enjoyable, and separately reviewed) and going from there to the end. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises. The book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend.
So we finally know what the Looking Glass curse is - Lyssa is destined to be Queen of Wonderland, and she finally decided to embrace her destiny. If only she can find her way back to Wonderland. Lyssa's Mom and best friend find her need to get back to her aunt's rickity old house a little alarming and Lyssa finds their need to have all the furniture cleared out of the house incredibly alarming. How on earth will she get to Wonderland without the Looking Glass.
Luckily for Lyssa (and us) she find her way back into the middle of an EPIC rebellion where our Spades are even living underground like any good rebel group is supposed to do at one time or another. Our merry band of rebels fight with The Knave, The Queen of Hearts, The Diamonds and even the very Clubbers they are trying to save.
I am incredibly in love with the characters in this series and am so sad that the books are done. I can most honestly say I am going to miss the carefree Chess, Hatter who managed to find his Mad and the very princely Theo. Eva Chase created immensely round and flavourful characters that make me wish I could climb through the looking glass myself to go and give them a visit again.
As we left Wrathful Wonderland, our heroine and her men were in precarious positions: one held hostage by the insane Queen of Hearts, another hit by a fast-moving vehicle, and the others left behind to try and salvage a rebellion that's missing two of its key leaders. Nevertheless, Chase finds a way to bring them back together, some sooner than others, and give the Wonderlanders back their chance at a life that's free from the Hearts' tyrannical rule.
Lyssa continues to find herself, learning how to become more queenly as well as comfortable with the role that Wonderland requires her to play. Her open heart and compassion are my favorite aspects of her character, and they really continue to resonate in the way she deals with both the people and creatures of Wonderland.
The gentlemen really get their chances to shine. Chase is good at giving each man his own revelations, swoon-worthy moments, and resolutions that flesh out their roles as individuals and their relationships with Lyssa. They each get moments in the spotlight, intimate scenes that give them their chance to realize love and sacrifice and commitment. It's very sweet that no man steals the others' chances to grow, and there's a good balance in their perspectives, so I felt like I got what I wanted from each of them.
The action is well-paced, and the victory happens in a way that makes sense yet stays creative at the same time. I like the solutions that wind up sealing Wonderland's fate with its new queen, and I think, although it might not end as dark as some might have thought, it ends in a way that stays true to the characters, and that's my #1 wish.
Overall, I enjoyed this journey through another fresh take on Wonderland, and I'm looking forward to what Chase has going on next!
You need to read this series if you love Alice in Wonderland retelling.
The last book in the series picks up where it left off in the second book. Lyssa is back in the Otherworld, being hit by a truck and woken up disorientated. But, there's a more pressing matter than her health, especially when the looking glass is about to be packed for auction.
Lyssa has finally decided that she belongs to Wonderland, and nothing can stop her from returning to the world and saving her people. But, her last adventure will be more challenging with the impending battle with the Queen of Hearts, which will no doubt claim lives, betrayal will happen, and an unexpected situation will test Lyssa's leadership!
I've been waiting for the Jabberwocks to be part of the solution since the second book, and I finally got it! The wrap-up is as expected; Lyssa got her happily ever after, but not all Wonderlanders get their happy ending. If you cannot let go of the world, worry not because Eva plans to write Doria's story - the Hatter's Daughter trilogy!
Happy sighs!!! This was exactly what I was dreaming of and so much more!! This page turner will keep you up all night! I absolutely adored Lyssa. She was the type of queen that Wonderland always should have had!! I loved the twists and turns and that Ms. Chase so expertly weaved together!! This Wonderland was intoxicating in so many various ways. I loved Hatter, Chess and Theo so very much. They each were so deliciously different and their personalities were so distinctive. I went back and forth as to which of them was my favorite! But honestly #whychoose!? This series conclusion was absolutely beautiful and gave me the warm fuzzies! I've never fallen in love with Wonderland in quite the same way before 💗 Ms. Chase wrote an addictively brilliant and unique series that contains unbelievable story building. She took all of these characters and ideas and made them wholeheartedly her own! This was beyond magical 💝💝💝💝
This is the third and final book in the Looking Glass Curse series. In this book Lyssa has a number of tasks tom complete it she wants to claim back Wonderland's throne from the current usurper queen. The citizens are either drugged and in a daze or have been altered in some way, make sure she has all the artefacts and knows how to use them, and complete the circle of love she has for the three extraordinary men by freeing one of them from captivity. Now this world is her home Lyssa needs to be prepared to fight to get it back.
This is a great final book in the series where we experience the final showdown between Lyssa and the usurper queen that she needs to overthrow. The relationship between Lyssa and her three lovers was strengthened in this book and she finally came into her own as she battled to overthrow the usurper queen. A great ending to the series that was well written and very enjoyable.
We have come to the final book in the Looking-Glass Curse Series -- Wanton Wonderland. It is sad to see this version of the classic fairy tale Alice In Wonderland come to an end. We can only hope to visit this version again with an update to how things are going for Lyssa, Theo, Hatter & Chess. I loved the interaction and growth of Lyssa and her men. There is much going on in this book: Lyssa must get back to Wonderland from Otherland, find and learn how to use the magical artifacts to defeat the Queen, free Theo from the Queen, and win over the citizens. Quite a lot to accomplish. This book is action packed with twists and turns, romance, and moves along at a fast pace. I highly recommend this book and series. This series is one that will be read over and over. I never cared for the classic Alice In Wonderland, but I love this one that Eva Chase has created. Received a copy and this is my voluntary and honest review.
plsssss eva chase books are becoming my biggest comfort🥺i was reading and i just felt so safe and comfy, this has been such a nice experience. the fact that i’m super picky and critical about books usually too, and i still rated this 5 stars, it shows how much i truly enjoyed this!
i wish i could stay in this world forever, officially one of my fav series, and the fact that we got a one on one chess scene in this too? the whole series was insanely satisfying all the way to the end, especially at the end actually, it was everything i wanted it to be and more!
so grateful that i got to experience this amazing yet criminally underrated series, i honestly believe it deserves tons more hype than some of the booktok books, no shade, it’s just that good
you better believe that next time i need comfort i’ll be reading another eva chase series! also don’t be surprised if my entire 2023 reading list is only her books, because i’m quite literally obsessed!

Soooo I was bored by book 3. Started out exciting but quickly went back to the same old same. I should preface I can’t tell if this is a retelling w a side of reverse harem or a reverse harem story w the excuse of an Alice in wonderland retelling. I personally just enjoy retellings. I find most written romance fantasy to be cliche & cringe. Book 3 had me often wondering what was going on in the Otherland. Or if they removed the romance part & a lot of dialogue could this just be a solid one book retelling. I hate to insult the work because this is someone’s creative work … it just isn’t my favorite. You get a very clear idea the ending will be as expected so instead of building up interest in the end I just was like I wanna get through this. I’m glad it was included in my Audible membership. At times it was cute & the retelling alone is interesting. I wish that could’ve flushed on more storyline & characters but it should be an easy read if this sounds like something you’re into.
An interesting take on the whole Alice in Wonderland theme. Overall, however it is just average as far as storytelling is concerned. There are better books by Eva Chase (I.e. Witches Consort Series).
The good: - Plenty of Spicy Scenes, while still furthering a plot. - it’s only three books long, so it’s easy to complete. - the characters and world is different than the original material inspiration, while still retaining some semblance of familiarity.
The bad: - The plot of defeating the Queen of Hearts drags on for the whole series until the end, with no real subplots. - very little rereading value -
The questionable: - I really wished that the MC bff Melody had stumbled into wonderland herself rather than being snatched into it….I think it would have been more interesting had she shown up in town completely shellshocked, before being captured…. - the characters personalities, like Hatter and Cheshire don’t match the original inspiration very well.

As the final book in the trilogy, Wanton Wonderland continues where it left off from book 2. Wanton Wonderland started the story where Lyssa wakes up in the hospital weeks after her accident. She is now in a mission to go back since she didn't have any idea what was happening to her kingdom. After giving the slip to her bestfriend Melody, she hurriedly went back to Wonderland to rescue its people and to claim her right for the throne.
Every story has to come to an end, and this ending has some bittersweet tone to it for me. Although they have some losses, they still come up the winner in the end. There are still a lot of work to do for Lyssa and her men and the ending seems kind of open ended for me. I hope that we get to revisit this world again through some spin off perhaps or a short novella.
I’m only going to review this one for all three books. I liked this story. I know retellings of various fairytales and stories, such as wonderland and Oz are fairly popular right now, but I actually read this series a long while ago. I remember that I enjoyed the series, and that so far, it’s been one of my favorite retellings of Alice in Wonderland to date.
Eva Chase has her style and you can see her magic all over this series. This is a wonder(land)ful retelling that has great characters and an incredible world full of love, passion, triumph, betrayal, with Lissa finding herself through all that has happened and finally coming into her own to be the strong capable and compassionate ruler she is destined to become.
If you already love Wonderland, and are interested in reading about all the new and exciting ways this story can be retold, give this series a shot. It’s worth the time.
Wanton Wonderland by Eva Chase is a medium-burn reverse harem romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Samantha Cook and Teddy Hamilton. This is the third and final book in the Looking-Glass Curse series.
Eva did a great job wrapping up the series. I loved the relationship that bloomed between Lyssa, Hatter, Chess, and Theo. They had a lot of hurdles to get through over the course of the series. But I couldn't help but root for them. I really enjoyed getting all of their points of views throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.
Teddy and Samantha did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.
I would recommend this series if you're looking for a medium-burn romance, why choose romance, or a fantasy romance.
Great finale to the series. Lyssa wakes up in the hospital after her unfortunate return to the Otherworld. When she founds out her mother and best friend have decided to "help" her by removing the stuff from her inherited house so she can sell it, she is horrified. Frantic to get to her mirror before it is gone, she sneaks out of the hospital and convinces her no-good brother to drive her to the house. As her mom and friend rush to stop her she jumps into the back of the moving truck and dives into the mirror. So begins her campaign to wrestle Wonderland from the Queen of Hearts. Along the way she will face many setbacks and obstacles, fortunately her men will be there help her out.
I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.
This is a fabulous ending to the series. Hatter, Chess and Theo and Lyssa have been thru so much pain in their attempts to free Wonderland. Themen are devoted to Lyssa and had to face the actions that haunted them and kept them from being truly happy.
The series did not give everyone a happy ever after and there were losses but I think that made it feel more genuine.
The ending really provided a good sense of closure but I will admit to not wanting to say goodbye to the characters. I would love see how they continue to change as the years go by.
It had a decent ending for the series. I gave this book 4 stars and the previous two 5 stars because, for some reason, this book seemed to stall in the early middle.
The opening was good and eventful and exciting. Then, everything seemed to pause. The plot picked up again at the midway point, and I never actually lost interest, but I did start wondering when things would start happening again.
The ending was a good one and I liked the way it only worked with everyone helping. It took Lyssa and her whole harem to set things right. Everyone was important. I'm also glad that the author threw in one last chapter to show the happily ever after rather than just ending on those words.
I love reading complete series, even though when it's over I'm hesitant to let the characters I fell in love with go, and boy did I fall in love with the 3 main men in this series.
Maybe I'd be better off reading large series that each book ends with a HEA, but there is something about watching characters grow and love bloom over the course of a few books, that you can't replicate in just one.
That being said, I'm sad I'm at the end yet happy that I've reached it. I wish there was more I could delve into with Hatter, Chess, & Theo, but I'm sure I'll love the next set of men in whichever series I choose just as much (probably)
Volume 3 of the trilogy begins with Lyssa stuck in a hospital in the real world, and everything falling apart in Wonderland, with Theo imprisoned by the Red Queen and the Spades in hiding. Lyssa has to get back to Wonderland in spite of the obstacles created by her mother, rescue Theo, come to terms with the implications of their true identities, and deal with treachery, before she and her friends can take on the Queen of Hearts. Like volumes one and two, there is a lot more story than sex, but the story remains fascinating, and the sex scenes, when they occur, provide a nice level of spice. And of course, since this is the end of the trilogy, there is a happy ending.
Wanton Wonderland By Eva Chase: (The Looking-Glass Curse Book 3)
Poor Lyssa waking up the way she did. I'm glad that Chess is still choosing to fight! Oh gosh The Spades have been fighting for 2 weeks!?! What a declaration from Lyssa. Theo going through what he is to try and save Wonderland is harsh. I'm glad Theo and Lyssa talked. Oh no poor Dum and Dee... Damn Lyssa actually showed the Queen's defenders her powers. Oh Dee... why...? I love how Lyssa got that Jabberwocks to help save the city. Oh my Lyssa's mom and best friend!.! What an awesome way get the throne!! That ending was really good and I loved the way Chess, Hatter, and Theo are with Lyssa!
I LOVE Eva's work, and this series somehow passed me by, so it was fantastic when this came up as a trilogy/complete set for just one credit on Audible!
There is such awesome world and character building in this story, which yes has links to Alice BUT is genuinely able to diversify enough to make it feel brand new. The Why Choose element makes it more fun, as her men are all so very different - although I did find I had a favourite much mor easily this time.
There could have been much more intensity, and HEAT, so I admit not quite the 5 star read I would normally rate, but still a truly fantastic fantasy read, complex and with stand out individual characters and plot twists galore!
Wanton Wonderland (The Looking-Glass Curse Series Book 3) ~
Wanton Wonderland (The Looking-Glass Curse Series Book 3) ~~ An explosive finale. Wonderland has descended into chaos, its citizens drugged and manipulated, and the heroine must rally them if she wants to claim the throne. The three keys to victory aren’t just physical challenges—they force her to grow, to take ownership of her power, and to decide what kind of queen she’ll be. The imagery here is haunting and beautiful all at once. By the end, I felt like I’d been through a fever dream of rebellion, passion, and twisted magic. Easily one of my favorite dark fantasy trilogies.
After being thrown back into the otherland by Theo and being hit by a truck, Lyssa has to figure out how to get to her mirror to get back to Wonderland. But after being in a coma for some time she has no idea what the state of Wonderland is in. On the flip side everyone believes Lyssa is most likely dead after being captured and taken to the queen. Once back in Wonderland, Lyssa gathers the troops and storms the castle to claim her throne. I love this series and what a fantastic ending as well
