Donovan M. Neal is the Amazon best-selling independently published author of the Third Heaven Series: a speculative Christian fantasy four book series that explores the captivating story about the fall of Lucifer. The book takes readers on an epic journey through the celestial realms, offering a unique perspective on the events surrounding Lucifer's rebellion and his descent into darkness.
In this imaginative tale, Donovan weaves together elements of Christian theology, angelic mythology, and fantastical world-building. The story delves into the cosmic conflict between good and evil, painting a vivid picture of the spiritual warfare that unfolded in the heavens.
Donovan has published eleven books and is currently working on publishing five more in the year 2023 alone. His books have reached thirteen countries including India, Japan, the Philippines, Mexico, Brazil and across Europe, Canada and the US. He has sold over thirty thousand units of his books and generated over a quarter million in gross sales without an agent. Donovan has produced fiction; non-fiction and most recently published a graphic novel. His genre of preference is fantasy and He has been compared among such notable authors as Frank Perretti, Brian Godawa, and the late Dr. Michael S. Heiser.
When he is not imagining comic conflicts between good and evil he is helping to secure employment for housing insecure women as the Executive Director of a non-profit in the city of Detroit and also serves in the prayer and discipleship ministry of his local church.
I really enjoyed this series and was excited to read the conclusion. Throughout you used scripture as a style of conversation between different characters which I also appreciated. I fully understand this series is fiction but based on scripture so while creative licensing is needed, adding to the word was disappointing. You added to the scripture from Matthew & Luke, adding two men in bed and one disappearing in regards to the rapture. That is not what it says and more so it implies that homosexuality is not sinful in Gods eyes. If you were a secular writer of heavenly fiction then one could look past this as a worldly belief but you write Christian fiction and hope to inspire people to God and have blatantly perverted the word of God in this instance. It was disappointing and blasphemous. Either do better or remove yourself from the Christian genre so you may write you're secular stories without leading people to believe a sin to be righteous. It is possible to write fantastic Christian fiction and not pervert the Word of God.
Like the rest of this series, Donovan Neal's fantastic imagination is highlighted in Apocalypse of the Kings. This book is a better story than the second book; however, Mr. Neal really needs to get himself a new editor. In parts, it's almost as though the book were being translated from another language. In some sections, the punctuation and other errors are so bad that I would have to re-read parts. That's why the 3. The story itself is worth a 5. Some of it is word for word from Revelations, other parts contradicts the Bible, but it is a great story with several important messages in underlying themes.
Donovan Neal puts a fitting Crown upon his creation. Enthralling in its panoramic cosmology Reverend Neal makes it real with a completion that reveals the price of victory as well as the consequence of arrogance. A must read can't put down once started myth that Christian readers will discover both entertainment and faith-seeds that will have you searching for more. Can't wait to see what is next on this author's rocket !
Decent ending to the series.... that editing though.
I really enjoyed the 1st 2 books. This was a decent end to the series. In serious need of editing, however. Like, it was... really bad. Seemed to be a rush job. Other than that, Neal paints a very vivid picture. I found the end to be a bit lackluster given the topic and buildup.
I absolutely never wanted to put the book down. I love that he always brought scripture into the story. I was so involved, I could feel the story as if I were in it. I love how he make every character come to life with a personality. I hated the fact that the book ended. Mr. Neal your ability to bring the bible to life is wonderful. Thank you.
I very much enjoyed the first two books. This third and final book was, at times, more work to read than pleasure. So many sloppy errors in spelling, punctuation, and format detracted from the storyline. Very disappointing.
I love this series. Donovan is an excellent writer He makes you feel like you are right there in the stories. I love the detail and development of all the people he creates l
The whole series of these books have open my eyes to possibilities. They have also helped me to understand certain books in the bible which I usually gloss over. Donovan Neal, may God richly bless you in all your undertaking.
