Too much news is good for one thing: Writer’s Block. Stuck on deadline and head spun over reports about her Ex, Dana Langley closes herself off to get things done, but thanks to the word traffic jam, nothing is flowing. Her bestie/agent suggests she goes out of town to relax and de-stress so the mojo will come back. She heads to Escape, Colorado for a little downtime hoping that being off the grid is exactly what she needs.
Justin Parker wanted a fresh start after the contract with his previous job ended. He moved to Escape, bought the local hardware store, and opened up a lumber mill to centralize the need for building supplies in a growing community. For the past three years he’s managed to live his best life as a single man with no complications.
On the hunt for some sticky strips, Dana walks into Henderson’s Hardware and the atmosphere immediately changes when these two cross paths. Words begin to move for her and he begins to see things with a new perspective. The only problem is her stay is temporary.
Will Dana make a move to be a part of Justin’s life? Will he leave Escape behind for life in LA?

This is a good read. Dana goes on vacation to find some quiet time and get over her writers block. Justin is a business owner who delivers an order of firewood and the rest is history. These two are cute together. The book has a good plot, character interaction and it flows at a fast pace. I can't wait to read the next one.
ML Preston does not disappoint with her newest release ~ Road Block!!!! This book had me hooked from the very beginning and has left me NEEDING to know what comes next for Dana and Justin!!! I am fan of the Escape Series and this book just confirms why!!!
Road Block is fun, sexy, HOT, and mysterious!!! I was glued to my seat reading this story and was only sad that it ended.
I HIGHLY recommend this story to anyone looking for a book that will leave you lightheaded and with a smile on your face. It is well-written, easy to get lost in, and just a fun story to read. I really lookforward to reading not only more from ML Preston, but also more of the Escape From Reality Series!!! I wish I can give this more book more than five stars. It is so good!!!
I really enjoyed this emotionally filled story filled with romance and intrigue. Dana was a bestselling author who needed to escape to a place called Escape for inspiration. She found more than inspiration. She found Justin. Enough said! Swoon and 5 stars worthy.
When I ran across this book the cover immediately caught my eye. So I read the synopsis and knew I had to read it. And what an amazing story this was!
Dana, the romance writer, goes away to Escape Colorado for a much-needed vacation and to help with writer's block. There she meets Justin. He owns the hardware store and the lumber mill. There's an immediate attraction. Dana and Justin embark on a fling that quickly becomes more. And Dana's writer's block has evaporated and she's found a new muse for her next book. Justin. But Dana is only in Escape Colorado for 2 months. Will there be found relationship continue once Dana's vacation is over? Or will these two find a way to make it work? And what secrets is Justin keeping that he runs hot and cold at times?
This story ends on a cliffhanger. But I'm so invested I don't even care. It's that good. It's a quick fun read. I highly recommend this book.
Dana and Justin's story was cute and sexy. Very fun. It allows you to get to know Dana, where Justin still remains a little bit of a mystery to me in some ways. I love that Dana is an author. I had a few moments of connection with Dana. I can't wait to read the next part of their story.
Oh my what can I say I was thinking this just can't end like this so unfair there's got to be more. And low and behold when you think all is done there's a knock at the door. So now I gotta see how this plays out. I'm so looking for a HEA! Thanks I really enjoyed reading this book.
I enjoyed Justin and Dana’s pairing and looking forward to part two of the series and the secrets that Justin is hiding. While Dana lives in the world of glamour, Justin is fitting right in when it didn’t seem as if this couple would get past their short term fling.
Seeing as how I read the stories of escape a little out of order, I was introduced to Justin before reading his story so I knew why he was doing what he did. That didn't ruin the story though it just made my heart warm knowing that he loved her and was trying to protect her. Such a sweet story.
I was compelled the entire time. It had me laughing and then on the verge of tears. Such a short read but it was able to captivate me and bring out these emotions . This was my first reason from ML Preston and definitely won't be my last. I would say it is a 2 ⭐ for 🌶️ But still a great read.
The story was so great, the build up to our girl needing to get away to a setting that was richly detailed was awesome! The characters captured me, I can't wait for what happens next
But I got into it and then it ended, I wish I would have known it was a serial now I’m irked. I think the conflict is a bit silly and his repeated actions are irksome and red flags imho
This story wasn't bad. I did feel however, that some scenes seemed rushed or felt a part was missing. The "love" part of this couple wasn't really believable to me. Way to fast
This was a good story to read BUT I do not particularly care for cliffhangers, especially if I was not informed it would be so before I began to read the book.
I always enjoy reading new books in the Escape from Reality series. This author was new to me, and I found that I liked her writing style from the start. The characters were amusing and entertaining, pulling me right into their world. Watching Dana and Justin come together was very sweet. Their caution was palpable, but their attraction even more so. I wanted them to find a way to make things work. On thing that was a bit confusing was that the name of the book Dana had written appears as both Black Knight and Black Night throughout the book. I'm assuming this was just an oversight, but it seemed like one that should have been noticed prior to publishing. It didn't take away from the story in any way, but just a word of caution when editing through future works. The end of Dana's time in Escape was bittersweet. It left me with a smidge of hope for things to come. The end of the book, however, left me speechless and needing more and soon!
ML has blown me away again. Dana and Justin are the cutest couple. I loved their witty banter, and the connection that sparked almost instantly. Dana is a writer with a lot on her shoulder and Justin seemed to be just what she needed to get through it all. I’m hoping we’ll get more of this couple and I can’t wait for Feb 2020.
