Senior Detective Cat Day has one hard and fast rule about dating: no cops. They live hard and die young—a truth she’s faced every day since her fiancé’s tragic death several years ago. But when rookie Jace Sutton shows up to work the same burglary investigation, she feels desire she hasn’t felt in years.
Jace knows what he wants the minute Detective Day strolls onto his crime scene in heels and a pencil skirt tailored by God himself. He wants to thaw the legendary Ice Queen, and it only takes one hot, dirty night for Jace to realize he wants more. Much, much more.
But more is the last thing Cat wants from any cop—especially a playboy rookie like Jace. As the burglary investigation heats up and he repeatedly puts himself in danger, Cat must ask herself if Jace will be as reckless with her heart as he is with his life.

4 Gun and Garter Stars ⭐

Detective Catherine Day is well respected in her field. But this hasn't stopped the whispers about her. Referred to as the Ice Queen, accusations of being frigid and closed off, hurt. But she hasn't been able to move forward since the death of her partner, until him.

"His combination of strength and power and youth—that thrill of seeing a man so young and virile vibrate with such restrained intensity."

Police Rookie Jace Sutton has moved back to his home town eager to put down some roots after a stint in the army. Sensible and old beyond his years has him looking for less complications and stability. But even he can't resist the lure of her.

When meeting over a case, it sees Cat acting out of impulsiveness by putting herself out there for a one night stand. Even if she questions her sanity the moment the words are uttered from her mouth.

"What if—oh, this is a big one—what if this young man doesn’t like my definitely-a-woman-in-her-thirties body?"

Where Cat is looking for uncomplicated pleasure, she will quickly realise that Jase may be young but he's no pushover. He has no intention of just being used and thrown to the curb. Especially when it is clear that their hearts are involved.

Misadventures in Blue is an age gap romance between an older woman and a younger man where roles are reversed. It will take Cat to grow the metaphorical balls to go after exactly what she wants regardless of her insecurities. This was an enjoyable read, and as always with a Sierra Simone book, maybe don't read it in public because you're going to need some personal relief...

"I’m not sure what else he wants until his hand gives my ass a quick crack and then just as quickly finds my clit. Then I know. He wants more from me. He wants me wild. He wants me to come."

Cat is a 37 year old detective in Kansas.
She hasn't really dated or had a real relationship since her fiancé died in the line of duty 12 years ago.
And now here's this smart, young and very hot cop at her crime scene. Insta-attraction on both sides.
Why not have a little one-night thing with this very young hottie? Her work-friends tell her she has no life outside of work. Let's do this.
But Jace is not on board with this one-night-only thing at all. He wants more. He wants everything!

LET THE FUN TIMES BEGIN ... ☺

description

Phew! That was cute and erotic and fun and a bit police-y exciting!

I loved reading it.

I think there's nothing Sierra Simone could write that I wouldn't love! ☺

Nothing more to say.

Great little hella sexy age-gap-cougar-cop-love-story!

****AVAILABLE NOW****

4 CROWNS

It’s a Sierra Simone novel, so, of course, I enjoyed it. Super steamy, romantic. Just quick and dirty fun.

The characters are enjoyable. They have good chemistry, and I appreciated the back story and mystery that enough them together.

What often happens, for me, with novellas, is that there is a lack of depth that allows me to truly connect or invest in characters. This happened here. I didn’t dislike anything, but I wasn’t consumed by it either.

This quick paced, insta-love/lust was entertaining and erotic. Perfect for a quick and steamy read.

Jace and Cat have the kind of chemistry that romance readers dream about. Their connection poured from the page & necessitated new panties & a happy hubby wake up!

Well written older woman, younger man books are hard to find. This one. This couple just launched to the top of my favourites list.

Their banter, their affection, their genuine desire for each other ticked every single box for me. Jace is a perfect romance hero. Filthy Dirty with just the right amount of sweet. 🤤🤤 Add in Cat who was fierce yet fragile & I had a massive girl crush. I was a VERY happy reader.

This might be a novella but it’s so delicious and well written it feels like a much longer read.

I received an arc of this book.

“I look at you and I think you might be capable of breaking my heart.”

We think we need a cigarette after reading this book! WOW! Talk about HOT! Misadventures in Blue scratched an itch for us and then some! Hot on the heels of heavily emotional read, we wanted something hot and entertaining, and wow! Sierra Simone certainly answered the call. The heat, the chemistry, the age gap, together with the cop romance theme all worked perfectly!

“None of those rich boys knew what to do with you, did they? They didn’t know how shameless you really are. How much you need to sin.”

Catherine Day is a thirty-seven-year-old Detective who is known amongst some of her colleagues as the Ice Queen, partly because of the way she handled the brutal murder of her fiancé 12 years earlier, and her no-nonsense approach to her job. Thing is, these guys don’t really know her at all, and thanks to the dual pov we learn a lot about Cat and the fateful night her fiancé died.

‘She could rip out my heart with her bare fingers and eat it in front of me, and I’d still want to pull her into my arms.’

Jace Sutton is ex-army, thirteen years Cat’s junior who has returned home to set down roots and is now a police officer at Hocker Grove Police Department – one look at Jace and she just about erupts like a volcano. And so, begins clandestine meetings and intense physical and emotional feelings!

‘She was mine. My ice queen who would thaw only for me.’

Cat has twelve years of pent up sexual needs to release, and boy did she pick the right bloke for the job! Despite the voices in her head telling her, it’s a bad idea; her body has no such argument – it wants Jace and all the deliciously dirty things he can do to her. We think Cat describes him best: ‘And his body, his body is pure sex. Young, vigorous, twenty-something sex.’ It certainly was!

Their ages and the fact he is a cop is a big drawback for Cat for emotional reasons, but that doesn’t stop them having raging hot nookie on every surface from the police station to home and everywhere in between. Dear God, these two burned up the pages! We absolutely loved Misadventures in Blue!

Jace and Cat’s story delivered everything we could have asked for in a spicy romance. Cat, the intelligent, cool, elegant woman, and Jace, the sexy, commanding and oh so manly ‘young man’ who would bring Cat to her knees, nearly brought us to ours! If you’re after a wickedly hot story with a heart-warming emotional romance, grab this book!

Even in a short story such as this one, Sierra Simone’s guarantee mark isn’t missing. You’ll always be sure her story will make:
You all hot and bothered
Your panties will combust
You’ll feel like a hussy for wanting Jace who is already taken
You’ll find a wonderful female heroine
You’ll have insta connection with said woman
You’ll wish the story were longer...

Right going to buy new undies...

This book, oh god I’m in love. I started this book today and devoured it and I’m in awe.

I just want to add I started this book in a cop station and had no idea how the beginning was gonna go and hot damn, I’ve never been so flustered in a cop station, what an experience, thanks for that haha.

Cat Day is a senior detective called in to help on a case that’s puzzling everyone, what she didn’t expect is her life is about to change.

Jace Sutton, a rookie assigned to the detective is completely mesmerised by the silent ice queen, he knows there’s more to the woman than what people see and he’ll do whatever he can to break down the walls.

Watching these two work the case together is incredible. I’m a sucker for an age gap when written well and this one was incredible. Sierra Simone really knows how to hook you in with the sexy times, the insanely hot sexual chemistry and adorable moments. They all mix together and creat the perfect storyline.

What I didn’t love was the amount of pushing she did, it damn well hurt my heart, I hated it but I understood it. I got so frustrated gah.

Misadventures In Blue was naughty as hell and sexy as f**k.

Leave to Sierra Simone to take what she undersold as a breezy, dirty cougar romp and turn it into this gorgeous, heart felt story - with this forbidden love quality. Being in Cat's head just tore at my soul. Sierra absolutely captured the emotional turmoil of being a woman and and professional and a "grown up" enriching her story with such poignancy, I won't soon forget it. Jace is no boy toy either. He's such an old soul, so elemental and world weary. The sex was incendiary - it was like they were trying to reduce their feelings for one another to ash - ash that could be swept away and ignored. But it doesn't work that way in Sierra's world.

She's given us another story that you just want to wrap yourself up in.

It's one of my favorite contemporary romances of 2019.

Oh Jace! Young man! You brought out the cougar in me! Truth be told it didn’t take much, a bend over a table, a kick of the legs apart and I was starry eyed.

This book is a bit of a change in style for Sierra. Not as heavy as the Camelot or Thornchapel books. More like the books she co wrote with Laurelin Paige. Obviously hot and sexy, because Sierra does that so well, but less frenetic. Like you know where the plot will take you and it won’t cause your whole world to implode! Maybe just a minor explosion.

Cat Day is a strong, successful, powerful woman. She’s great at her job, she is the Ice Queen and with good reason.

Ice Queen cop plus young alpha stallion cop equals lots of testosterone and torn knickers.

I have a confession. I saw one of those police department lip sync things and one of the policemen was super hot so I went through all their Facebook photos to find pictures of said cop and I saved them to my iPad. Officer Highley, I do apologise but it was you I imagined as Jace Sutton. I’m guilty as charged. Please feel free to head over here with the cuffs and take down my particulars. Or knickers. Whichever.

I absolutely devoured this book from beginning to end, even sneaking in some reading at work, but that'll be our little secret.

I'm hesitant about age gap stories where the woman is older because she always ends up pushing the man away. She wants him to be able to have his fun, sow his oats, etc. Of course that happens here. In age gap stories, the ages usually act as a plot point.

BUT.... butbutbut... Sierra does it in such a way that you aren't even focused on that issue. Jace and Cat just have this magnetism about them from the onset. And boy is he alpha. #hearteyes. Cat might be older, but Jace is definitely in charge. He has a sweet, tender side though, that you can't help but swoon at.

And it wouldn't be a Sierra Simone book if it didn't get a little (or a lot) down and dirty.

Easily one of my top reads from the Misadventures books!

A steamy/older woman/younger man/police/boss/mystery! Cat is 37, she lost her fiancé (another fellow cop) years ago and has closed herself off to everyone for the past 12 years. Her fellow officer’s have nicknamed her Ice Queen, and call her a frigid b*tch. Jace is a new police officer, he’s 24 and recently returned from the army. He comes from a family of blue collar workers and doesn’t like how the other officers talk about Cat.
I wonder what she’s actually like. My mom was a firefighter, and I know being a woman and a first responder means walking along a wire with no safety net. Too passive and you get ignored for promotions and recognition. Too aggressive and you get labeled a b*tch. Act like a man and you’ll succeed - but then you’ll be punished for not being enough like a woman.
Jace and Cat light this book on fire, it’s smoking hot steamy passion and I loved it!
She was mine. My ice queen who would thaw only for me.
Cat knows the relationship is wrong on multiple levels, but she is drawn to Jace. After a few frantic wallbanging sessions together she knows they need to call it quits.
She hold up a hand. “It’s enough Jace. It’s enough to make it a bad idea. I’m thirteen years older, and you’re the kind of man I’ve sworn to stay away from anyway. Maybe you can f*ck the same person over and over again without feelings getting involved. But I look at you and I know that’s not going to be possible for me.” She takes a deep breath and meets my eyes. “I look at you and I think you might be capable of breaking my heart.
Jace is a standup kind of guy. He’s young, but not immature. I love how he figures out what Cat needs and wants and goes after it. There is some angst, but that’s to be expected.

Misadventures in Blue by Sierra Simone was a novella in the Misadventures series written by various popular best selling steamy romance authors. I’ve enjoyed the series and Misadventures in Blue was no exception!

Jace Sutton had served his country in the military and was now a rookie cop serving his home town. He was young but had an old soul. And not surprising, once he found something he wanted, he had a singular focus. Enter Detective Catherine “Cat” Day.

Cat was a senior investigator on the police force and earned the nickname Ice Queen by all who worked with her. In reality, it was a mask to cover the pain from losing her fellow cop fiancé twelve years prior. She liked being dubbed the Ice Queen and no Rookie Cop was going to change it.

Misadventures in Blue was a fast and fun read. Jace and Cat had explosive chemistry from the get-go and their steamy encounters kept me coming back for more. Additionally, Simone included a suspenseful plot as a secondary storyline for added depth and dimension. All in all, it was a quick and entertaining read. This was my first read by Simone but it won’t be my last.

Misadventures in Blue by Sierra Simone is book 22 in the Misadventures Series. This is the story of Jace Sutton and Cat Day.
Cat is a Senior Detective who is in her middle thirties who lost a fiancé to their job as he was a officer too. This was several years ago but it made Cat put up a rule that she would never date a officer again because of the seriousness of loosing that person again. Jace is a ex-military in his middle twenties who is a rookie on the police force. But he has moved forward to make roots and hopes to work toward having his own family. Sparks fly between the two but of course Cat tries to put up her guards but Jace has his mind set on Cat.
Good hot read.

Well, as always Ms. Simone delivers an incredibly sexy, fun age-gap romance. This author and her words are pure magic, in my opinion, and she cannot write a bad book and this book? Just like her rest... PERFECTION in every sense of the word.

I have been so eager to start this wave Misadventures, and what a way to kick start it off. Not only was it deliciously hot, but it also held depth, which is one of the MANY reasons why Sierra Simone is one of my top 5 favorite authors of all time. She pushes boundaries, she isn't afraid to do so either, and the way she delivers these words... Seriously you can't help but fall in love.

Cat hasn't had the best run with life, her past making it hard for to be truly let people see her real emotions and actually feel them herself, instead, she is closed off and works tirelessly at her job as a Detective and it's made evident... And though her past is rough, to say the least, she is still a strong character. She takes the lead and when push comes to shove, she can take charge and get what she needs/wants. She is a phenomenal character and she was a treat to read. She has lived a life alone for the last 12 years after losing someone she loved more than anything in the world, but the moment she laid eyes on the new cop, She knew that she needed him for at least one blissful night.

Jace is new to the force, but he has knowledge from the military. When he and Cat cross paths he can't help but want to know more about this woman. He had heard stories of how closed off and cold she is but that didn't stop him from lusting after her... He knew the moment he saw her that he wanted her but given the age difference and her icy cold persona will this lead to more than just a fling for these two? Or will Cat let her walls down and let Jace in...

I loved this! It was such an enjoyable read. It was hot, full of chemistry, that push and pull feeling and it held an emotional side to it too. It proves that Sierra Simone can write just about anything and it will always be flawlessly and Misadventures In Blue was one hell of a start to this seasons line up.

I highly recommend this book, you will certainly not be disappointed!

5 Stars!

I love Sierra, like adore her writing, starve for her words. Her Deep insight into matters of the heart just make my heart pound. After having read some gems I picked up this second misadventures book by her.
I liked the age gap. Dubbed Detective Dry Clean Only & Ice Queen -Detective Catherine Day is 13 years older than Jace a rookie cop. It takes this drool worthy hot cop to thaw the Ice from Cat's heart. The first encounter, first handshake and they can feel the electric current that passes through them both
Seemingly innocent serial robberies case both of them are assigned to, throws them together 24/7, and secret stolen moments whenever, wherever they can find are a bonus.
"For two weeks, I am unbearably, abominably weak, and for two weeks, Jace and I fuck constantly. And everywhere. We fuck everywhere. At my place. At his place. Twice more in the station—after the brass went home this time. In his car, in my car, in the bathroom of an office building after interviewing a witness."
No place is safe from their hump sessions
Like I said Sierra is so talented, her repertoire boasts some deep, profound stories. I guess these were what I can say- quickies. So I read them such. Detailed and recurring sex scenes which after a point I speed read
I'll wait for her Thornchapel next though

Smoking hot little goodie by Sierra Simone is sure to heat up your kindles!

Detective Ice Queen, Cat Day is on a case where she meets the younger and eager to please, Officer Jace Sutton. To say it is lust, at first sight, is slightly understated. These two are practically explosive from the first hello. The problem is Cat's heart has iced over and she is not looking for an officer to be the one to make it thaw. Jace, on the other hand, is a man who goes after what he wants, consequences be damned.

Like many of these Misadventure books, there is a story, we have a strange bunch of robberies that just don't make sense. And we have a TON of sexy times. These are meant to be short, insta, type books and they are. This was a great weekend evening read, it was interesting, super sexy and had a nice bit of conflict.

I am a HUGE fan of Sierra Simone, HUGE. But lately her recent releases have either confused or really disappointed me and sadly Misadventures in Blue was super disappointing. While the written aspects of this book and the chemistry of Jace and Cat is amazing, I honestly feel like it's the same book she wrote with Laurelin Paige, Hot Cop. Some of the plot has been changed but again, to me it was like I re-reading Hot Cop. I loved that book and I was excited to read this one, but changing a few details in a story doesn't completely change it when you re-use it for an old one.

She is a great romance writer and one of my favorite authors but I did not enjoy this book.

the great news is you can read this book in under two hours. the bad news is it is not that good of a book DFKLJSDLKFJKSD?? i am giving it 3 stars because 3 stars is fair, not bc i necessarily derived 3 stars of enjoyment from it. in sierra simone's defense, this book does not require a lot of emotional investment upfront, nor is it particularly complicated; the criminal conceit involved is very much a teenager's idea of a background plot so that we can all just get to what we're here for. it's kind of like fanfiction if it wasn't written for a fandom, which is almost impressive. this says nothing, of course, about the obvious ethical and moral challenges of writing porn books about police officers and what this may say about our relationship to the prison industrial complex, security theater, and the exercise of arbitrary authority. i would really like to see a review of this book from jacques ranciere or michel foucault. since that isn't going to happen i can tell you that they have a lot of sex in this book, occasionally in career-ending locations, and that the main character has a surprisingly loose grasp of personal security techniques given her law enforcement background

If you follow me on Twitter you may know Speed is my absolute favorite Romance movie of all time. Keanu Reeves as LAPD SWAT Officer Jack Traven is my favorite fictional boyfriend.

I've been searching for a romance that gives me some of the same feels as Keanu and Sandra's blazing chemistry in that perfect film and well, Misadventures in Blue by Sierra Simone is the closest I've come yet!

She's 17 years older and the lead detective on the case they are working together. He doesn't care. Smoking hot and delicious.

CW for gun violence, on and off page, grief from losing a spouse to police work and gun violence.

This book was just ok for me. It was a recommendation and my first book from Sierra. There was plenty of sexiness and chemistry but the story just didn’t hold my interest. I pushed through trying to give the author the benefit hoping it would get better but maybe I was in a reading funk or it just wasn’t for me.

I won’t give up but maybe one of her other books will be a win for me.
