Faith-Filled Fiction at Its Best! Look for Stealthy Steps, Book 1 in Vikki's new series, June 1. Joy Thoresen Michaels has lost the two most precious people in her life: her husband and her only child. She cannot receive her husband back from the dead, but she has hope for her son—hope that he will be recovered:
“I spoke a moment ago about my prairie heritage—the enduring faith my papa and mama lived as an example for me. It is because of their faith that I have such hope for Edmund even though he is, today, lost to us.
“You see, what is lost to us is not—is not—lost to God! I remember Papa saying this very thing: In God, the lost are found. Our Lord sees the entire world—and nothing in all of his creation is hidden to him! I am comforted to know that wherever Edmund is, God is there with him.”
Four families bind themselves in a solemn pledge: They vow to never stop searching for Edmund and to never stop trusting that God will restore him to them, whether in this life or the next.
Lost Are Found, the conclusion of this spiritually rich series, chronicles how God answers those who utterly trust in him, no matter the circumstances—and no matter how long the wait.

Vikki Kestell’s passion for people and their stories is evident in her readers’ affection for her characters and unusual plotlines. Two often repeated sentiments are, "I feel like I know these people," and "I'm right there, in the book, experiencing what her characters experience."
Vikki holds a PhD in organizational learning and instructional technologies. She left a career of twenty-plus years in government, academia, and corporate life to pursue writing full time. "Writing is the best job ever," she admits.
Also an accomplished speaker and teacher, Vikki and her husband, Conrad Smith, make their home in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
I was so frustrated when I started this. It jumped from 1911 in the prior book to 1990. What happened in the 79 years?! I immediately pushed through since this is on my series challenge and due back to the library in three days, and it totally worked. I cried so much. This series is more of a serial. You need to read them all and in order.

MY REVIEW What an outstanding finish to a series! I cannot find the words to express how moved I was by this book/series. To think that one woman that has been gone for many, many years can manage to still bring someone to surrender herself to Christ is just amazing. Rose's journaling has impressed me throughout this series, you really need to read this series starting with book one to get the full impact. I was so drawn into this book that I think I read a little more than half of it, to get it finished, today, I just couldn't put it down! If you don't shed some tears while reading this I just don't know what to tell you.
I HIGHLY recommend this SERIES to you, I don't think you will be disappointed. Vikki did a fantastic job, so good that when I'd start one of the books I did more reading on my Kindle than I did of 'hands-on' books, and that is very unusual!
At first I was really disappointed in the direction this book was going. I wanted it to pick up right where the last one left. It seemed to take too long to return to the generation of the last book. I also found it a little too “preachy.” This is Christian fiction so I would guess that a vast majority of its readers are already Christians and don’t need to be convinced of the Truth. However, it really picked up the pace when Kari sets off for Denver. I enjoyed how everything turned out and am once again eager to get the next book.
The last book ended in 1911, this book started in 1990. I wasn't ready to say goodbye to Rose, Joy, O'Dell and the gang , so I wasn't sure I was even gonna like this book. I have cried my eyes out! God has really blessed Vikki Kestell with her storytelling! I am in awe of her stories of redemption and how she so beautifully crafts the Lord into the whole story.
Disappointed that this book does not follow the previous one, that Joy spent a life time without recovering her kidnapped son, and he died and she now has an adult granddaughter without knowing her son. Odd that the author begins this book where the last left off, with Joy's thoughts at her husband's funeral and the next chapter jumps two generations! The author consistently novels unhappy life journeys and endings making for depressing reads.
I’m on book 7 of the prairie heritage series. These books have encouraged me in my faith, they have reminded me of how big our God is! I’m recommending them to all my friends!!! I really enjoy historical fiction and these books are among the best I’ve ever read. The author has incredible ways of drawing you into each character’s emotions and faith!! Well done Vikki Kestell!!!
When I started this book 6, I almost stopped thinking it wasn’t even part of the series and I didn’t want to start another series just now! So I went to back chapters and saw the familiar names and decided to continue to see how it was put together. It’s getting more and more unrealistic but fun. Of course the lessons are good, also almost unrealistic unless you’ve had that kind of encounter with Jesus.
At first I was mad because I had got so involved in the characters of the other books and now we are years later and new characters, so I wasn't going to read anymore, but I'm so thankful that I did go ahead and give it a try. Because I cried more and really felt everything Kari was feeling, like I said of the other books they just keep getting better
The 6th book in this series -- good, but gets a little hard to read at times. The story flips back and forth from two or three different time frames with different characters in each until the very end when you find out the connection between these characters who do not know they have any connection.
This series has been a good story, but this particular book stands on it’s own! The faith, hope and healing of our Savior Christ Jesus is palpable. Never doubt the love of God!
I loved how Rose’s journal affected Kari and Rose’s family generations later. The legacy of faith is wonderful to read, and it made me think about what I’ll leave my family. Beautifully written and touched me deeply. On to book 7!
When Kari Hillyer learns she has inherited an estate from her late father's "Uncle Peter", she finds she is not alone in this world as she has thought. Finding God also helps to find she has many relatives.
This no 6 was the most fun for me. Kari finds herself not only at the Palmer House, but surrounded by newly found family (multicultural). There is a big reunion and possibly a romance.
I must admit I was a it thrown at first since this book does not continue in sequence like the other books but jumps ahead by decades. Once I connected the dots it all made sense though
It's been a long wait for me to finally get to read what happened to baby Edmund. To feel Kari's heartache of having no family, it broke my heart. I read this way up in the night. Couldn't put it down. Highly recommend this whole series.
I don’t know how to say this without giving too much away, but you will be cheering, crying and page turning to see what happens next. But understand, prayers were going up for generations and God is faithful. Next?
What a fascinating mystery and story of faith and prayer. It took 80 years to find the lost that was found, but what a revelation of the faithfulness of God. I will continue with the next in this families series.
I had a hard time at first figuring out why this book was so different from the rest of the series, but as I got into it I had a hard time putting it down to sleep at night. Plenty of surprises and one of the few books I've read recently that had me in tears. What a wonderful book!
