Morpho: Anatomy for Artists #4

Morpho: Fat and Skin Folds: Anatomy for Artists

Rate this book

This is one of the only artist anatomy books I've found that actually focuses on other body types other than lithe & muscular. As an aspiring artist looking to expand my knowledge of the human form, I was delighted to find such a wonderful & informative reference book on how fat collects and falls on the frame. This book even goes into the anatomy of the little marshmallows that are babies!

Wonderful series, and I hope to get a hold of more Morpho books in the future.

WOW! I mean, I guess it's wrong if an American makes generalized statements about another culture, but when it comes to other cultures calling us fat and obese and other mean terms, it's anything goes full court press! Kind of insensitive, but we're Rich lazy AMericans and we're fat so far that the grease from all our McDonalds has dulled out our feelings. '

EDIT
Sorry, nowhere in the book does it say anything about the subjects being American. I must have , uh , misread something.

𖹭 What I liked: The illustrations and tips
𖹭 What I didn’t like: the font is small (to be fair, it's a small book) but a little tough on my eyes.
𖹭 Reading Pace: effectively short book.

Genuinely incredible. This really opened my eyes to the fundamentals of rendering skin and fat on the human form!

Very technical. But the references are great, and the author explains where folds accumulate in the body and how fat hangs. I feel like this book went more in-depth than the generic anatomy book.

Wish it was longer! I would have liked more references of the same full-body pose multiple times with different body types. Great visual aid.

The absolute BEST book for learning how to draw fat bodies. Every artist who draws anthros or humans needs this on their shelf.
