Acheron's Woman

Rate this book

As Pippilotta "Pippi" Jones considered herself allergic to rich, handsome men, finding out that she was required by her work to visit Greek billionaire Acheron Simonides in his home was Pippi's worst dream come true.
But since an order was an order...

Acheron had never been attracted to the shy, sensible sort, but the way the woman so valiantly did her best to resist him resulted in making Ms. Jones the sole exception to the rule. Even so, the billionaire believed it was only a matter of time and skillful negotiation before he could make the little blusher his.
Or so he thought.

It's another sweet, sexy, angsty read from Marian Tee, so be prepared to laugh, smile, and cry!

I didn't want others to hurt you---" "So you decided it was better for you to hurt me instead?"
That's the summary of the most of MT's book plus with OTT drama.

The h is allergic to rich people. So she is very skeptical to go to the rich CEO’s apartment but has to go anyway as her boss wanted her to deliver a file.

The first meeting the H pukes at the h’s feet and passes out.

After that the H is intrigued by her. He even gets rid of his current mistress with the hope that the h is perfect candidate for the job. He now expects her to throw herself at his feet or stalk him but she does no such thing. She downright ignores and avoids him. So he finally asks her out for dinner which she declines. But he uses her betraying body and makes her say yes.

The h was too much affected by his body. She goes speechless when she sees him. She is very much horny about him but tries to resist him.

The writing was a bit off. Lots of inner monologue. Other characters have almost no life. I mean to say that it’s mostly he said she said.
I’m skipping this due to the writing and also because the H thinks a lot about the Ows and keeps recalling them in his thoughts.
Not my type.

Reminiscent of her earlier works that I really enjoyed. I love her Greek billionaire world and it was fun to see a glimpse of the characters from previous books. Read it in one sitting. Very enjoyable with just a bit of angst.

I’m usually a big fan of this author, but not so much this time.
The writing at times was chaotic and a bit difficult to follow, as it jumped about so much. There’s also way too much of the two main characters internal thoughts. This author always gives us a nice bit of angst, but here it was introduced because the hero was acting a bit too thick, which didn’t seem real considering his character in the rest of the story. It was also overlong IMO considering the plot. I’m hoping for better next time.

h gets sooooo affected by H’s body that she is rendered speechless....too many inner monologues for me, I also don’t care much for the usual « pretty but inexperienced h, facing a tortured very much experienced H »

Acheron’s Story was less than I expected

We have seen him pop up in various books, usually giving the other heroines a shoulder to cry on and support. In this book he sees Pippi and knows he wants her for himself. It is not an easy road to their happily ever after. This book is not very stimulating and on the borderline at times of too much imagination.

Blah

Very disappointing, the book was all over the place. No substance or feelings throughout the story. Skipped over bits of the story that were pertinent and dragged on with inconsequential and monotonous crap.

The love...

It's Marian, what can I say! She is perfect, of course you will cry and of course you cannot stop reading once you started it. Pipi and Archeron have a lot in their lives but most important and not so obvious to them, they have each other.

This book was far more enjoyable than her previous work. In her newsletter, the author mentioned that she shed a tear while writing certain parts of the books. And I guess I am not ashamed to say I did too.

What can I say? I am a cry baby.

Wonderful

What an amazing writer. I think the time and passion she shares with us would dull overtime but she proves me wrong. It was wonderful!
