Missile Man: One Man’s Memories of Life on the Front Lines of the Space Race

Rate this book
From 1960 to 1973, Robert Bay was part of the team that helped get the United States into orbit and on to the moon. From the scrappy beginning, lofting men in a tiny Mercury spacecraft to the triumph of the moon landings, he was a witness and participant in one humanity's greatest endeavors. His memories form part of the history of the space race that is seldom told: The perspective of the average grunt, one of thousands, who worked tirelessly under enormous stress to make John F. Kennedy's challenge come true.

A very quick read on an aspect of history that is seldom covered. It's told in the first person by one who was there. I enjoyed it very much.
