I don't need much when reading a paranormal novella involving were-wolves.

description

1) Sexy Alpha Male... Check!
2) Erotic Sex.... Double Check!..mmm, make that a Tripple Check!

An evil father locks his daughter away out in the woods while she is going thru her mating heat to prevent her from loosing her virginity. As fate would have it, a hot sexy alpha werewolf catches her scent.

I was in the mood for something hot n heavy and this book more than fit the bill.

Warning: This book contains sex to the 10th power! And that makes me Very Happy!!! ;oD
I can't wait to read the next book in the series!

I don't care if this is erotica. I don't care if this is supposed to be light writing and all. This was just horrible. The writing was not the worst I have seen, but it was not good by any means. The main plot of the book would have made Breeding Cycle bearable if there were any. But no! There is absolutely no story development whatsoever.

It's the story of a girl who has an asshole father who wants to manage her life and all as if she were his slave and not his daughter. Then, it's the typical - not so typical, but we'll get to that in a moment - boy meet girl. They consummate their love. Daddy's pissed and all. You can only guess the ending. Nothing's new here.

But you know what? That's not what made this horrible. This so called storyline has been used a lot; Actually, I'd say it's been raped. BUT, it still makes good books. Sometimes. I hated this one because I couldn't relate to the characters among other things. At all. What is the point of reading a book if you can't feel the story? The characters are sooooo boring and stereotypical. They fall for each other at first sight - or first smell in this case - and that's ok. I love fairy tales. I understand that they were true mates and all. But would it kill you Mrs. Grey to make them have other emotions than irrational lust or absolute despair? They don't have a middle ground like any other normal person?

And, apparently... the characters are all lykaens. What does that even mean? They don't turn into wolves during a full moon. They don't shape shift. They don't have any powers other than disturbingly heightened sense of smell. Aside from the fact that females are on heat, these characters are humans. If you write a book about lykaens... DESCRIBE THE FUCKERS PLEASE! Describe the world they live in. Describe the creatures (because your werewolves could well be disco fur balls and we wouldn't know because of your lack of description)...

The only thing described in this book is related to the apparently awesome kinky sex the two werewolf horny humans are experiencing. And you know what? It wasn't that good to read. AND there were way too many love scenes. 97% of what I read was related to sex... Which left a poor 3% to write a passable story development. And that 3% was misused.

I was clearly unimpressed by this book. I DO NOT recommend it. It was a waste of my time. And I blame my friend who did tell me it was good. I guess we don't have the same expectations in books. I like something with a little more sustenance than this.

THANK GOD it was only 150 pages or so.

Sarina is the daughter of the Alpha and King of the Lykean community; she is sheltered and kept hidden from everyone. Her father forces her to endure her breeding cycle alone until he finds a worthy mate, she doesn’t understand his cruelty but accepts her fate, as a member of the Pride she has to save herself for a man of worth to ensure exceptional health and breeding of the Lykean species. Sent alone to a secluded cabin in the middle of nowhere…
"…she understood why her father sent her miles away from any man--because she’d never wanted a cock so badly. Each year the pressure inside her grew stronger, more powerful. Her pussy begged to be filled. It was harder and harder to say no, to not go looking for a man."

Vane, Alpha of the Kategan Pack of the Midwest, was blowing off steam, hiking across his land, when he came across the most delicious scent, one that lured him to a cabin in the woods, where he was privy to the most gorgeous site, a woman pleasuring herself. He knew that she was his intended, his true mate, he is pissed beyond belief at how Sarina’s father treats his daughter, the pain she is going through and he wants to be the one to protect her, to service her, to be everything a mate should be…
If only she was stronger, or not a princess, or had a different father. If, if, if. Each day her cycle churned, paining her, wetting her. Each day he pleasured her senseless with his mouth, his fingers, and his body until the pain faded.

But it wasn’t enough, the only way to ease the pain is for him to claim her as his and give her his seed, but Sarina knows she can’t her father will kill her for even having a man so close to her at this time, but she trusts Vane to not step over the boundaries they put in place, after all in just a few days she will be back home with her father and the man he chose for her. Vane’s control is tested, he will not take it from her and a little bit if him dies each day as his request is denied. Blinded by the pain, she can’t see him for what he is, her mate and if only she was a regular girl, they would have a chance, but she is not risking his life, her father would kill them both.
“I vowed not to take you, but I need you to relinquish me from that vow, Sarina. I need you. My beast needs you. I need to be inside you.” He pressed soft kisses over her wet lips and then the curve of her ear where he whispered huskily. “I need to come inside you.”

Breeding Cycle was soo freaking HOT, omigod, right off the bat it is sex, and sex and more sex, all day every day… I didn’t think it was overkill, I mean hello look at the title and tell me you’re not expecting anything but primal fucking. Luckily I was in the right mood, I almost felt bad for her when she went into heat, but she had a delicious respectful alpha male to ease her way, so in the end she ended up winning. I absolutely loathed the father, I wished we understood why he was such an asshole, and the Prince, what a douchebag, I hope he gets his one day. This is a standalone paranormal erotic read, the next book in the series focuses on the secondary characters in this book.

Another free read that I got for my Kobo. The only other book from this Author I have read was a free read for another series that this Author wrote. I must say I loved that one too. While I was checking into that series (which I plan to buy, I loved it so much)I saw this book and since it was a free read immediately downloaded it. Hoping I would love it just as much as I did the other. I am happy to say I was not let down.

This book is off the charts SIZZLING HOT!! It starts off on page one with our female heroine having a sex dream. Oh, yes, it was a hot dream. Sarina is a Lycaen Princess who is kept away from men and shelter. She is a virgin. Every year that she goes into her breeding cycle and her father the King put her in isolation to keep her pure. But the breeding cycle is painful to the extreme for females if they don't get relief. Her father doesn't care. Up in a remote cabin in the woods all alone to ensure no male will be near her her scent to caught by Alpha Vane. He promises to give her relief with actually sex to ease her pain. In her he finds the mate he has been looking for. And she finds hope even though she is terrified of her father and what he is capable of.

I will admit that this book is about 75% sex. But OH MY GOD it is good sex. It is about 29 short chapters and I flew through it like nobodies business. Even though it was mainly sex, it fit the story. Yes their was a story. It's just that this book is true to it's title, centered around her breeding cycle.

Most of the time I don't like a book that is center around nothing but sex. I have to have a great story to go along with it. And the sex can't over shadow the story. But this story was different. Because the breeding cycle was the whole point of the story. This book also give you what Sarina went threw at the hands of her father. How she was sheltered. It give you a hero Vane who had been looking for his mate and never finding her because his beast didn't approve. But just one look and smell of Sarina and both man and beast were in agreement.

This book takes you on the journey of discovery, lust, finding love, heart break, desperation, finding your home and justice.

I love it. Some of you probably won't. Most of the reviews here didn't. But I loved it.I plan on getting the others in the series. And I think I just found a new Author who will become a favorite.

Sarina Brunes is a werewolf princess who is going through her breeding cycle. Even worse, she is alone, aroused to the point of pain and locked up in a cabin by her very controlling farther.

When Vane senses the sexy and beautiful woman, he knows she's his mate. The problem is she won't let him take her. Will he make her cave before pain will take over her? Can he make Sarina's farther see that he's right for her - or will he have to do it the harder way?

Why 3 stars?
The Breeding Cycle was a ridiculous book that i couldn't help but laugh at on occasion. There is more sex than anything in this book. Sex after sex after sex, to the point where it became (like i said before) ridiculous. I think the author needs to know how much is enough, that there is a limit. I swear there is sex in nearly every chapter.

The story plot was OK, i enjoyed it, the characters were likable but there was not enough background on them, information and description. I liked this story, it was short and a nice read for the end of the evening.

Princess Sarina is sent away by her father due to her breeding cycle, any males around her would have sex with her and not be able to control himself. She is a princess her father a kink of lykaen. She is in a cabin in the woods sent to bear this painful cycle on her own. Most women are serviced by a male in the pack during this time to lessen the pain and great sexual need.

Alpha and leater of the Kategan Pack is walking thru the woods which he loves to do after a rain, he scents a female in heat, he is strong and in control if his urges but this scent calls to him and he goes in search of it.. finding a cabin he looks inside and see sarina trying to pleasure her self. A virgin at 22 and stuck in this cabin she looks out the window and Vane a Alpha of his pack talks her into letting him into the cabin, gives his oath not to take her without her ok..

just to help her releave the pain of need... lot of it.. lol....and he does...

On the last day she gives in and Vane breaks the barrier of her virginity, but is stopped at exactly that point when Sarina's father breaks in with his guards and beats Vane down, Well Vane does kill 2 of them.. but he is against 6?

So Sarina is gone.. he is heart broken knowing she is the one. His bond mate..

What will he do to get her back Her father is very evil. Possibly even killed her mother...

Now keeping Sarina locked away in the castle she grew up in. The Kategan brothers must help Vane save his bride before she is sold off to a rapist prince 'PRINCE CONLIN' WHO is sadistic and a woman beater, rapist and evil just as the king..

What will happen?? must read?? all size books... i did and LOVED LOVED THEM, I NEED MORE ...

The very first sentence starts the book with a sexual interlude. I don't particularly care for books that begin in that manner because no story line has been established at that point.

At about 24% on my Kindle, sex was still very much the dominant theme but Ms. Grey attempted to weave a bit of story into it. At 36%, I started noticing and becoming irritated by the magnitude of typographical and grammatical errors in a novella length book. I discovered a run-on sentence that I actually had to read twice to understand what Ms. Grey was attempting to convey. Very little or no editing occurred in this book. And oh, sex is still very much the prevailing theme at this point. I found it trite and quite tedious that the story had not progressed past this point. It's perfectly alright to include sex in a story. H-o-o-o-owever, it is NOT alright to base an entire story on it when the book was described as a paranormal romance.......NOT erotica!

Halfway into the book the story begins to take shape. The "story" portion only covered about 20% of the book while the remaining 80% was sex...sex...and oh, more sex! The sex scenes were not even that great and began to seem repetitive after a while.

Needless to say, neither this book nor the teaser at the end has remotely sparked my interest in the next book. A big ole P-A-S-S for me.

Alright, it is what it is... Erotica, but boring. It's not a very long read but it's not incredibly short either.

What turned me off, (no pun intended) was it was just straight sex from the 1st chapter til like chapter 8. Now I love my smuttiness just as much as the next horn toad, but I like to be stimulated on all fronts in order for me to enjoy the book.

The sex, because it's erotica, was still plentiful throughout the novel but it wasn't until after chapter 9 that a story started to form. I really wish the story started to break more ground in the beginning & middle so that the "passion" would have been hotter. I didn't believe this connection between the Alpha & heroine or even the urgency of the Breeding Cycle that the heroine had to endure. So therefore none of my juices were flowing. Or it could just be that my sex life is much hotter than theirs' in this book.

And even when the plot began to unfold, it was just all simple filler that had me rolling my eyes. The dialogue was just as campy IMO, too. It felt like maybe someone in JR. High or a Freshmen in high school wrote this book, concerning the dialogue. This author succeeded in one thing with this story, putting Alphas & their Packs to shame.

So yeah, while there is plenty of sex, it still doesn't live up to the "hotness" that it promises. A decent plot that could have been great if it was executed better.

But if all you want is an erotic read with no substance, I'd say give this one a go.

This was a DNF for me.

The writing style was very choppy and it grated on my nerves. There was too much sex and not enough plot. I stopped halfway so I don't know if whether the plot eventually kicks in or not, and I have no wish to find out.

There was no character development. While I didn't mind the heroine in the beginning, I could at least tolerate her while she and the hero spent time at the cabin, when she was back at the castle with her best friend, she completely changed and spoke like a teenager. What the hell, right? She's 22, not 13.

And I didn't connect with the hero at all. I read these kinds of books because I want to fall in love with heroes. But this hero didn't make me swoon.

I don't know if the series gets better but I don't think I will continue with this series.

I'm like

and then I'm like

I don't really know if it's only me but Vane and Sarina just kept going at each other. Seriously. Non-stop SEXing lol although the storyline was enjoyable which I read like within three hours probably its to make it go quicker.

Anyway was it off-putting for me, a little but then it wouldn't explain much why they kept at it. Still I found the story not lacking but interesting. Hence why I gave it a 2 or 2.5 stars

So overall it didn't drag which is good and it just kept to the pace of the storyline and maybe her other books will be a step up until I read the rest of her series.

Wow! Super hot, sexy erotic book.

Thanks to Samantha's review, I picked up this book on my Kindle and was not disappointed. It looks like this will be a great series. I'm on the 2nd book now.

Be aware- there is lots of graphic sex. Lots. Graphic. If that bothers you, this is not for you.

But if you LOVE your erotic romances, get this one today!

The start of this book begins partway through a dream (although this is not immediately clear) and what a dream! We are talking M/F/M. Once you get past the beginning you realise that this is a young woman/Lykae who is about to go through her Breeding Cycle which is not as pleasant as it sounds as she is forced to go through it alone. Her father is manipulative and uncaring and you are left with questions about his past as the book goes on.

Luckily for Sarina, a male does turn up who is in fact her mate but her father doesn't approve. He seems to think that his choice is far better because the guy has "Prince" at the start of his name, even though he has a liking for beating up and abusing females.

This book is a short read but is fast paced and enjoyable. I'm not sure if it has gone through some severe editing since the prior reviews were given as I didn't spot many mistakes in it at all. Will be reading the rest of the series.

I got this as a freebie, its the beginning of a series. Overall, once I got past the sex-sex-sex, I liked where the author was going with the story, and the eventual introduction of some other characters.
I wanted to kill Sarina's dad.
I was glad to have met Alison...and Rome...and there's a little something with Darien, too...so...I think if it was a little more plot-heavy vs. the crazy sex, i would have liked it more. The sex scenes weren't really for me, either...except maybe the initial one...but that's a personal thing. For fans of the genres that don't mind more sex than story, its definitely worth the read.

this is my first t.a. grey book, and definitely NOT my last :)
this book sucked me into the wonderful worlds that t.a. creates. she creates all these amazing characters you absolutely fall in love with, and takes them on such journeys that will have you beside yourself wondering what is going to happen.
i can't believe i had never written my review for this book until now.
i adore t.a. and EVERY SINGLE word she has written.
if you haven't read her books, you are truly missing some amazing characters and stories :)

I'm not sure why I even read this but I've been reading most of the Amazon freebies in my Kindle and frankly this is quite okay for a 1-star. Apparently there's a virgin werewolf princess and then there's an alpha wolf and there's an evil werewolf king and werewolf prince. There's load of sex and foreplay but the book was painfully bad that I can't help but becoming entertained by it. I just deleted it after reading it. Gosh, to think people actually buy this.

Full review much later. Still in raya/lazy mood.

Now this was a seriously interesting book. I would give it a 8.5 out of 10 with no reread. The very first scene in this book sets the tone for the entire book. It's a sex scene. Vane is the lead male and Sarina is the lead female. Basically Sarina's father is a major tool and treats her as property. The poor girl. Vane is an awesome charismatic Alpha. Oh did I mention Sarina is a Princess and her father the King? Well they are. So Sarina is basically treated as property and not allowed to interact with anyone without her father's say so. Now they are all lykeans. Which I think is another spelling of lycan. However don't quote me on that because I'm honestly not sure. Plus they never change into a wolf from what I saw. However the author does make references to a beast, improved hearing, sight, and sound, so I think werewolf is a possibility.

Now this book of course has a happy sappy ending, but not one that made me want to squeeze lemon juice into my eyeballs. I enjoyed the last chapter quite a bit and that is one part I would reread again, because damn it it was good!

The book, Breeding Cycle was ok. It started off decent and then got kind if forced, well the dialogue for me made it feel forced. It just didn't sound natural. The plot line was weak, it was there, but weak. It centers around Sarina's breeding cycle, a cycle that only happens 1x a year, and that makes her go crazy for sex. Her jerk of a father sends her to a cabin to endure it on her own, which is unheard of in their culture. Vane needed to leave his house for a bit and went on a hike and came across Sarina's scent. It was ok. Nothing spectacular, it was an easy read too, but it just didn't make me think omg omg you must read this now.

I really enjoyed this book. The beginnig surprised me a bit, I actually checked to make sure I hadn't skipped a chapter. (I won't ruin the surprise.) Now, this is what I'd call a firestarter. From the beginning it had me squirming in my seat, waiting on more.
This story was very well written. The characters are deliciously believable. I'm getting them all!

The only reason this one is getting 4 stars is because of the grammar and typos.
It's not a bad concept and I actually enjoyed it very much.
If only it didn't have so many errors, that really, really, really, bugged me.
Once I got passed the errors I liked it and it was a good read nonetheless.

Full of sexy scenes, but had a few typos.

Still I would have rated it more had the paranormal element been more explored. They are shifters and no one, not even in the heat of anger, shifted.

Still, as I said before it had some very hot sex. Although this one didn't completely do for me, the next one in the series seems more promising.

Hmmmm......Can a book have too much sex in it? I think I would have preferred a shorter book with less sex and more dialogue. I liked the plot and the characters, just too much for me....Will read the next book to see if its more of the same or if it's toned down a bit!

After reading T.A Grey's The Loneliest Alpha i was itching to read another of her creations..... If you told me this book was by same author i wouldn't believe you. The beginning the main character Sarina is having an imaginary 3 way which i didn't actually get was imaginary until she proclaimed she was a virgin later on, the whole book was just a load of foreplay no real story.

Girl gets horny during her cycle, dad sends her away to get over it, weird peeping tom sees her through window, who she lets in to help her out but not to have sex, eventually after almost a week of foreplay they start to have sex, dad walks in takes her away, she escapes from dad and has sex.

that's the main gist, hardly ever give a book 1 star but i put this down thinking what have i just read......
