A Sweet Abduction in the Wild West

Rate this book

Gloria Seaton lives a peaceful life with her brother, struggling with the failing ranch their late parents left them. However, their lives are about to change forever, when a fateful trip in town embroils them in a criminal campaign. Their mission: kidnapping a wealthy railroad heir. However, Gloria would never expect their victim to capture her heart as he did. Will she be able to handle her strong feelings or will she let her emotions be in charge, creating a mess?

Jack Rollins is a courageous, skilled and clever man of the West. He is self-made, rugged, but at the same time sophisticated and dapper; one of a kind. While he would never expect that he would end up falling in love with the woman who kidnapped him, soon enough he’ll realize that he needs more than his charm to escape. Will his alliance with his abductors allow them to find a way out of the trap they have all fallen into?

Tangled in a desperate situation, the heroes are led by a chain of events into despair. When the natural challenges seem to be their main obstacle, they are soon to realize that the wickedness in the hearts of their enemies is the darkest hurdle of all… Will the Seaton siblings find peace with the loves of their lives, or will they have to sacrifice their happiness - and even themselves? Will their love be enough to see them through, or will they have to pay the ultimate price?

I enjoyed this book very much. It had lots of twists and turns before we reached the end. It was a clean read. Gloria and Barney Seaton are Brother and Sister and living somewhat peaceful lives on their sheep ranch. They lost their parents to Indians. It is hard work maintaining their ranch. They loathe going into town; but there is a girl there by the name of Bernice that Gloria wants to visit with her brother. Gloria knows that Barney and Bernice love each other; but Barney is holding off taking his relationship to the next level out of concern for his sister who has no romantic prospects. During their visit they get caught up against their will in a scheme to kidnap a wealthy railroad executive, Jack Rollins. The scheme is to ransom him to his wealthy family for money. Gloria and Barney kidnap him in hopes of keeping safe but also wanting to free Bernice who is being held hostage to force the Seaton siblings to take part in the scheme. During this ordeal Gloria begins to fall in love with Jack. Gloria and Bernice rely a lot on their faith as they deal with the events being forced upon them. They must deal with one issue after another before they are able to free themselves from the outlaws that are forcing them to do things they would not otherwise do.

The story was very well written. It keeps your interest all the way through the end. I like this Author and the books she writes. I look forward to the next one.

ONE CAPTIVATING TREAT!!!
Wow! Talk about a complete flip. Aurora really nails this extremely riveting tale with the a smooth flowing storyline and incredibly strong plot draw you in deeper, holding your attention from start to finish. A rollercoaster ride of emotions and events that detail all the hardships, trials and tribulations that dog their every step. All the drama, heartache, uncertainty, fear, danger and suspense really bring this read roaring to life brilliantly. Twists and turns abound with unexpected circumstances that make for one thrilling experience. The characters are complex and believable with such depth and individuality it's easy to relate. You feel everything the characters feel, like you're part of the read instead of on the sidelines. The scenes are written with such realism it really pulls this little gem together beautifully. Incredible job Aurora, thanks for sharing this bad boy with us.

A wonderful clean and Godly book.

I wonderful story, full of excitement and fear that was true to the old west. Gloria and her brother Barney were struggling to keep their family farm from failing. Forced, to save their innocent friend Beatrice, into the kidnapping of Jack Rollins they encounter many troubles. Because of their faith in God they were pressed into many undesirable situations that ultimately led them to join forces with Jack to stop the threat of death they all faced. The greatest mystery was who hired the three men that were forcing their mission of kidnapping Jack and the ransom exchange. Surviving the perils they faced seemed to be impossible. Would good or evil prevail? Not everything always goes as planned.

Exciting read

Aurora takes the characters of this book & brings them to life. Gloria & her brother struggle with losing their parents to a horrible death, yet by God's grace they continue on with their failing ranch. They are forced to kidnap a wealthy man, Jack Rollins by three lawless thugs. Berniece, the girl Gloria's brother loves is held captive by the criminals until random is paid to them for Jack. However, Jack & Gloria call in love & turn the tables on the evil ones. The story twists & turns with great excitement & expectation. The epilogue brings the love, & future to an exciting end for Gloria, Jack, Barney & Bernice. Great book.

Enjoy time in Wyoming with this newest book by Aurora Hanson

I think my favorite part of this book was the fact that it was in Wyoming, specifically, Rock Springs and Lander - both places which I can easily identify. This book was able to draw you in with the first couple of pages! A well written story with "adventure" happening throughout. Sweet characters developed that just draw you in. Come and meet Gloria and Jack in this inspirational book set in Wyoming - where there are wide open spaces for miles surrounding you! Vicki from Wyoming

“Humble servants of God” I loved that phase
This book was unexpected and such fun to read. A kidnapping not of a young lady oh no it is a hunky railroad heir. Do you think things may go a bit wrong? Gloria and Barney never expected to be caught up in all of this but fate set in. The story was very well written and I loved how faith played into the work. Now do not think there was not action in this one it was full of it and great twists from the start to the finish. This was a book that will add so much to anyone collection

a Sweet Abduction

First and foremost, I usually enjoy reading historical western romance novels.
But I must say that I was just aching for the ending. It was painfully long, and all over the place. Bang bang shoot ‘em up for sure. That’s not my type of thing. Death and love triangles. Nope not for me. Hey you may love this. I felt overwhelmed with the story. Not only was there one kidnapping, but two. And keep this in mind, there is a suicide which may trigger pain for someone. That being said. You may like it or not but you have been warned.

God bless.

Exciting well written book

I absolutely loved this book, and feel that Aurora Hanson only gets better as a writer. The story was exciting with twists and turns, and different from any of the authors other books.
The four main characters Gloria, Jack, Barnay (Gloria's brother) and Beatrice (although I did think Beatrice a little lacklustre ) were wonderful particularly Gloria and Jack. The two couples definitely deserved a happy ending.
I thoroughly recommend this book.

A romance with love and enlightenment

This is a moving storyline with the telling of two mortal love stories and another Heavenly love story. The author combined a truly wild west shootouts, brawls, kidnapping and savage Indians, with beautiful testimonials of a loving GOD and our salvation through Jesus Christ, his son. This is a beautifully written book.

Great Story

I really enjoyed reading Gloria and Jack's story. When Gloria and her brother Barney are forced to kidnap Jack to protect Barney's girlfriend and unexpected alliance is formed between the three of them. How they saved the day and rescued Barney's girlfriend is amazing. This is a really good story.

Too much

Way too many inner though monologues. Ending was drawn out to a syrupy and elongated end. If one were to cut all the unnecessary fluff and repetition this would make a nice short story.

Interesting

This was a good book. I liked the characters, family connections, and the story. It was an interesting look at the early days of settling the west. However, for me the tale was a little drawn out with details and disaster upon disaster.

Gloria and Jack

Gloria lives on a sheep ranch with her brother. After losing her parents to an Indian attack, the ranch is barely existing. Next comes manipulation, blackmail and kidnapping of a rich and handsome railroad man. Interesting.
