This was the fifth novel I have read by Declan Finn in the last 2 months. I have ready the first two in his Saint Tommy Series, Hell Spawn and Death Cult. I now understand why so many people rave about his works. Before reading book 1, I had also picked up White Ops Book 1, but got going on the Saint Tommy Series first. I have also previously picked up several anthologies that Finn has contributed to, that I have not got around to reading. They as well will be bumped up in my to be read pile. The hard park of discovering a new favourite author who is very prolific is there are many works to choose from. I believe at the time of writing this that fin has 38 published books and short stories, including this series which is to be up to 12 books within a few months. For my fiction reading I have been alternating books by Finn, Andrew Grant (aka Andrew Child), and J.D. Kirk. I am currently reading 2 in this series and then a White Ops book.

The description of this story is:

“Detective Tommy Nolan is having a bad day.

First, the celebrant was murdered during mass. Then the SWAT team knocked down his door trying to kill him.

With a million dollar bounty on his head, every gunman and demonic monster is coming out of the pit to collect it.

Tommy has to discover who's out to make him a martyr before he becomes a saint for real.”

I was a little hesitant to start this series. It seemed a little over the top. And from the authors, publishing people, and friends it was so hyped I was afraid it would disappoint. It did not! In fact before I had finished the first 2 I hade picked up nearly a dozen other works from Finn’s pen. The fist story was great, the second even better, and this one was most excellent.

This story races from beginning to end. I have used the term break neck pace previously, this volume eclipsed them all. This book is packed with action. A fair bit of humour. And the underlying theme of faith just enhances it all. I am not sure of Tommy is loosely based upon the author himself, but I could see it. Fighting evil and rattling off prayers. Using Holy Water as a new weapon in the arsenal of the police against even, especially supernatural beings like vampires. Tommy stopping in a busy hectic day, for time of prayer, rising in a local church, even with a bounty on his head that keeps, there is just so much to love about this book and the whole series so far.

Tommy is a man who loves God, his wife and family, and his job. He strives to be the best version of himself. He is not willing to compromise his faith, or the law. Picture a Catholic John Wick, stopping at nothing to get the job done.

This is an extremely entertaining story an excellent read in an amazing series. I look forward to the rest of the books in this series, and other offerings from Declan’s pen.

I received a free copy of this book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.

Well, I’ll be darned! I’d use the other word, but I’m not sure it would pass muster. This was a hell of a book. Lots of fire and brimstone, fiery explosions and incredible fire fights. Also fisticuffs galore. Tommy Nolan is a gifted detective and with the help of angels and God helps protect mankind from all kinds of devilish mischief.

Declan Finn’s book is fast-moving, a quick read and lots of fun. The characters, although outside the usual mainstream are likeable, believable and interesting. The humor is nicely paced and add a sense of relief amidst some serious goings on. There are more to come in this series of books, and I look forward to reading them. I highly recommend these books if you are into mystery and mayhem. If you haven’t read any, grab them now. You will be happy you did.

In this installment, Tommy Nolan must stay alive and find the mastermind behind the bounty on his head. He has to fight demons, vampires, MS13 and dirty cops. Can he stay alive long enough to find out the truth behind the attacks on him and his family. I started this series with book 2 and I can honestly say that each book is a stand alone. I so love this entire series thus far. The books may be about Saint Tommy but the books are not preachy and are thoroughly enjoyable. I love seeing all of the recurring characters as well as meeting new ones. Each book gets better and better. I can't wait for the next in this series.

Excellent book three. Wraps up the trilogy nicely. I guess he starts a new series with #4, something in Rome. Well, I'll probably read that too. (But I think I'll take a rest from St. Tommy after hammering through three books in a week.)

Look, I honestly like the characters. Most aren't very 3D, only really Tommy is well developed, but the rest are fun. It is a book about a miracle working cop. If you don't like Catholics or holy warriors in general, you may still like it, but probably not. This goes a long way from the "Lawful stupid" of most depictions of the holy warrior. It is packed with action, but our hero makes moral decisions as he goes forward, trusting in God. Really good stuff.

NYPD Detective Tommy Nolan has a job he loves, a family who support him, and friends who care about him. He gives a lot back to the community, soup kitchens etc and is a devout but a not in your face one. He thinks he's nothing special but God seems to disagree!. He's made Tommy a Wonder Worker (A Living Saint) with the power to fight Evil. Tommy is doing such a good job that there's a multi million dollar bounty on his head, and people really want that money, so Tommy needs to keep his head down....but Tommy is a Cop, a Wonder Worker, and pissed! So Evil watch out here comes Tommy Nolan NYPD 10/10

I love Tommy and his friends and family!

Lots of action, firearms, fire and explosions. Mariel, Tommy’s wife, is wonderful. I enjoy reading about Christians who are not perfect but aren’t the villain. Tommy may not consider himself perfect, but he is a very good man and full of faith and humility. I like Tommy’s friends-D, Alex, the Assistant DA.

I’ve been reading Psalms lately, and recognizing them in the book adds to the book and reinforces the power of the faith that produced them.

I enjoy spending time in Tommy’s world and look forward to more.

Book three of the Tommy Nolan story is every bit as good as the first two. As good as all of Mr. Finn’s books. His skill bringing scenes to life is master class. All the characters are well developed and as I read more of this series the people become real. A new character is introduced near the end so maybe we will get another series? There is violence and humor and some serious discussion going on in these stories. I look forward to reading the next two installments.

This the the completion of the first three books in the series. So much to like. Action packed and just plain fun with a good sense of humor.

The premise of a cop with the charisms of a saint and being able to bilocate, smell evil, etc is a solid base for the character. What makes this great is the premise is fully taken advantage of Delivering blows to the various enemies while ejaculating prayers and praise of God.

Just love this.

There is always a lot going on in these stories. This time there was trouble in the church, then at Tomas's house, then the police dept. So much and the action does not stop. Tomas was able to get some sleep but not much. Very exciting and the reading is fast pasted. The time flies and before you know it the story is almost over. Excellent story. I received a complimentary review copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving a honest review.

I always have believed being a police officer (in spite of SOME cops being bad) must be difficult and I pray for them all because you never know when tragedy will hit. But this poor guy has to deal with demons (although some would say they are all demons) in addition to regular criminals. Fast-paced, awesome action, great characters. Love this series.

Even though it's far from being the last book in the Saint Tommy series, Infernal Affairs feels like it's been set up to be an explosive yet also tidy conclusion to a trilogy with the first two books. There's not much I can say without spoilers except that you won't be disappointed if you liked the first two books. I'm curious to see whether book 4 continues to ramp up the stakes or starts off at a new baseline for Nolan and company.

This was my first story in the Saint Tommy, NYPD series and I loved it. Tommy Nolan has to try to find out which witch (or warlock in this case) is out to kill him. There are also zombies, necromancers, and demons in this fantastic, funny, fast-paced fantasy story.

Love the books, but please read through properly. I thought you didn't have an editor, but I read you thanking him. DON'T. He needs to print your work out and read it, not just run a computer spell check.

Again, like isn't really what I think I should feel about these books, but I am captivated by the storyline. It keeps you glued to the book to see what Satan and his minions are up to and wonder what the ultimate goal concerning Tommy and his people will be. They keep getting more intriguing.

So much trouble, so much trouble - Tommy is dealing with both Internal Affairs and infernal affairs. I am personally not sure which is more troublesome for Tommy the wonder worker. I am pretty sure that things are never going to return to the pre-Rykers normal. How do you forget being able to work wonders? How does someone like Tommy refuse to get involved when things get rough? I'm pretty sure that Tommy will be the reason things can't go back to pre-Rykers normal. I am becoming more and more caught up with Tommy's activities; I definitely need to see what happens next.
