He came to fix her pipes. She never expected him to steal her heart.
Heidi White was an aspiring baker, tried her best to make others happy, and secretly lusted at the hot guy in her neighborhood. The pipe burst in her basement, so she had to put the baking on hold to find a plumber, fast. When the sexy guy from around the corner showed up to fix her leak, all she could do was stare at the size of his wrench.
Max Brighton was a single dad, business owner, and hadn't dated in years. His plumbing business began to struggle, and he became desperate to keep things afloat. He believed he found the perfect solution for his problems when the beautiful woman in his neighborhood asked him to fix her pipes. But the job was harder than he expected and he wasn't talking about her pipes.
This is a sweet and easy to read story about a rich girl and a blue-collar guy.
Heidi is the daughter of two well known senators and since very young she's been traying to please them. But not only it did not work, but they also used her and manipulated her at every turn for their benefit.
She is sweet and goofy, sometimes naive, but she is also genuine and honest.
Max is really good plumber trying to save his business and find a way to better care for her sweet daughter, Kat.
After being burned so badly by his rich, manipulative ex-wife, he hasn't given love a second glance...until Heidi
They both kept watching each other from afar and dreaming of what could be between them, only wondering, until one day fate decided to give them a hand.
When Max goes to Heidi's place to fix her pipes, he ends up fixing her heart as well.
But things aren't easy for them, as her family and his ex-father-in-law tries to ruin everything.
And then they have to learn that a loving relationship is more than pipes, cookies, love and sexiness. It's about trust as well.
As I said, it was a sweet and really sexy story, easy to read. Heidi was somehow easily manipulated and the story was a little fast paced, and something could have been more explored through out the plot, not so rushed.
But in general, I really enjoyed reading it and, let's face it, nothing like man who know how to work with his hands and is not affraid to get a little dirty.
This is my first book by Elizabeth Lynx, but it will not be my last. Dirty Secret is about Heidi and Max. They definitely come from very different backgrounds and grew up in very different circumstances. Heidi's parents are two senators, who are not loving and have used her as a pawn her whole life. Max is from a blue collar family (plumbers), and he came from a very loving and close-knit family. Heidi and Max live in the same neighborhood and have been watching one another, unbeknownst to the other. They meet when Heidi has some pipes that are leaking, and she calls a plumber, and Max shows up to fix her pipes. Heidi may have had a privileged childhood, but she is slightly socially awkward and cracks not so funny jokes. Max finds her amusing and oh so cute. Their chemistry is amazing, and so are their interactions, and how they both want to fight the other's battles. It captured my interest on page 1, and kept it until the end. I read it in one sitting.
No one gives awkward romance quite like Elizabeth Lynx. She has a knack with her characters giving you those sexy moments but also filling them with that awkward laugh out loud moments that just make them seem like real people. That right there is why I love Elizabeth Lynx books so much. Dirty Secrets is filled with sexy and laugh out loud moments. Heidi is adorably awkward. She is loyal and gives amazing food porn. She will leave you in stitches. And of course there is Max. I mean you had me at single dad. But you add in how sweet he is and the chemistry with Heidi and I'm totally sold. Max is dreamy and I love the interaction between him and Heidi. Dirty Secrets is an amazing read. You will love Max and Heidi so much. Go and one click this one.

Cute and funny, not what I expected when I realized it was set in DC and involved politics. I'm personally not a fan of political intrigue, but this did not go down that path. The seedy side of politics did come up, but definitely fit the story of Heidi's childhood. The first sightings between Heidi and Max were adorable albeit stalker-ish, but showed exactly how people get tongue tied when face-to-face with the object of their fantasies. Loved it!
Funny, poignant, witty, sarcastic, steamy love story between 2 people that aren't quite sure of themselves, let alone anyone else. Elizabeth Lynx has a way of painting us a great love story. Looking forward to more!!
This book was an entertaining and sweet light read. I found Heidi to be a genuine character who was very likeable, funny and down to earth. Max is also likeable, a good mix of hot yet genuinely nice and a loving father. I did enjoy how it was different from my usual read with Heidi being rich and Max being the blue collar guy.
This book grab your attention and pulls you into falling for both Max and Heidi, hoping they get together Each page I read, i enjoyed more and more. Read this book in one day.. so it's a goodie =)
A sweet and fun read. Heidi, a bit on the quirky side who blur out things without thinking and tells bad jokes. Her neighbour Max, a handsome man that are good with his hands. Could it be better? Not to mention her best friend and her parents...the last, not so good.
This is the first time I've read anything from Elizabeth Lynx and I was blown away! I loved Heidi and Max's characters and their story they were perfect together. It was I can't wait to read more from her!
Such a cute and funny story from the first page to the last. Max and Heidi are a great couple, who come from two totally different backgrounds, that fall in love despite their differences. Great supporting characters (Kat and Max's dad) that you will love reading about. Very well written and keeps your interest throughout the whole story. First time reading this author and it won't be the last!
This is a sweet and funny story about a rich girl named Heidi & a hot single dad Max they come from two different backgrounds but that doesn’t stop them at all. This is a great love story about Heidi & Max!
Heidi is a member of a politicians family. Her dad is a Sentor and is well known. She buys a house in the same neighborhood as Max. Max is a plumber and has a daughter. Max is called over to help Heidi with her pipes that have a leak. Here’s the thing they have both been watching the other secretly and don’t have the nerve to go up and talk. When he knocks on her door everything changes and they have a silly interaction and you are taken away. It’s a quick read and the drama can hit home about some misunderstandings and hurt feelings.
This is a fun, flirty easy read. We meet Heidi, the daughter of two senators. Heidi is genuine, honest and sometimes naive. She's not that naive when it comes to her parents though; she knows that they manipulate her to get what they want. Heidi lives on her own and when her house springs a leak, she calls her parents, they tell her they’ll get someone out to sort it and they do. Max. Max is a plumber, he goes to Heidi’s to fix her pipes, but soon discovers that her pipes are worse than he originally thought. Once Max realises who Heidi is, he tries to orchestrate a way to not be the one doing the work. Dirty Secret is a funny, witty, sarcastic, sweet and steamy read. The characters are well thought out and they all fit the story perfectly. Each one shows both their good and bad traits, which makes each of them realistic and more endearing. I love how Elizabeth manages to write such emotional but light-hearted stories, that always grab your attention and pull you in from the very beginning. Each page I turned I fell further into Heidi and Max's world. Elizabeth’s writing style made me feel every bit of part of their lives as the other characters are. If you want a fun, flirty and entertaining read then I highly recommend Dirty Secret.
Heidi has had a lonely life but no one would know it to look at her. Daughter of two senators, she has always been a prop and pawn in their machinations. She has only broken out of their expectations twice and neither turned out the way she had hoped. So she stays hidden in her home, watch the handsome man that lives in her neighborhood and dreams of being naughty with him. Max knows better than to get tangled up with a rich girl and a political one to boot but Heidi is just too tempting. She is sweet and goofy, sexy and can bake like nobody's business. What can it hurt to take a chance and get dirty?
This was the first story I have read by Elizabeth Lynx. I am sure that a lot of people will enjoy this little tale of Max and Heidi. I just didn't connect with the characters as I would have liked. The beginning of the story alludes to some scandalous behavior of Heidi's that gave her parents another reason to treat her horribly. I was expecting something major as the way it was referred to was dirty, hence the title. When it was revealed, my reaction was oh, is that all? Max's past as well as his profession are referred to as dirty as well. He was a good guy that had hit a bad patch of luck. When his past is revealed, I didn't like that Heidi believes a stranger and doesn't give Max a chance to explain. I felt that was pretty immature. The writing was good I just didn't get emotionally involved with the characters or the story.
Dirty Secret by Elizabeth Lynx was really good. This was a fast read but so sweet. Heidi is finally on her own. She has always stayed with her parents. Then her pipes burst and the one guy to help is the guys she has been secretly watching from her house. Max just lives right around the corner and gets a call for a busted pipe. Little does he know its the lady he has been seeing from a far and is intrigued by. Heidi and Max are so opposite in life. One was raised with wealthy parents who could have anything but at a price. The other is a single dad trying to raise his daughter and save his plumbing business. I love the chemistry between them. Great book
I enjoyed reading this book! This is a sweet story between a single Dad( Max) who is a plumber and the daughter of 2 senators ( Heidi ). They both live in the same neighborhood and seen each other from afar bit don't meet till Heidi has a plumbing problem. Max didn't know who's house he was called to till Heidi opened the door and the story goes from there and kept me reading to find out what happens between them. I recommend this book!!!!!
Heidi has lived a life which caused her to be lonely and made her own way in life. Perky and goofy, she fools people but the book has twists and turns when she meets Max. The title fools you a bit and made me not want to read it at first, but after i began to read it, I absolutely loved it. As love would have it, Max, the plumber and Heidi watch each other until fate stings them. A good book and I give it a five.

Fluffly and sweet!! I didnt realize that it was a novella, my previous review was off the mark. Since i have come to the knowledge of this being a novella, I really liked it. I normally dont read novellas because I like more story thats just me. But like I said, this sotry is fluffy and sweet!!
I believe this the first book I've read by Elizabeth Lynx and I can honestly say I wish I had started reading her earlier. This book was a cute and funny book. I love it when two people who are completely opposite fall in love and that is exactly what Ms. Lynx provided us with. I definitely recommend this book.
This book was cute, sexy, funny and entertaining. Max and Heidi are complete opposites, she’s from a rich political family and he’s the son of a plumber. Instant attraction when they meet. Love all the secondary characters as well.
For the first 60% of the book I felt like I was in the middle of a dumb blonde joke that wouldn’t end. It took me 3 days to read it. I read 2 books in between trying to finish it. The last 40% redeemed it and boosted it to a 3 star.
With a plot that sounds like a dirty movie how cam you go wrong? A fun, sexy read about a blue collar single father and a political princess. Plenty of heat, sweet and some awkwardness that make for a good read.
It is an ok read for a novella it was a dry read for me. Max and Heidi are lacking the dynamic character the story needs. It does have a little spice but left a lot lacking.
