First, I want to thank TK Chapin for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.

TK Chapin is back with another amazing faith-based novel entitled The Space Between Us. This time around he has his characters each facing and tackling difficult situations. In true TK form there is a strong life lesson in the book.

The cover of the book was breathtaking. I am amazed with TK’s talent at his amazing covers that he shares with his readers.

TK did something different in this book that he had not done in previous books. He incorporated a drawn picture of a lamp with a scripture from the bible. It was a beautiful picture and how the words intertwined was creative.

This book touched on topics such as adoption, searching for your birth Mother, homelessness, drug abuse, etc.

TK did educate me on someone I had never heard of before. That person was Jephthah the Gilalite. He was a mighty warrior. He had something in common with Chance as their Mother’s were both prostitutes.

I loved that Chance got his name because his Mom wanted to give him a second chance at life.

The Space Between Us by T.K. Chapin is a marvelously powerful contemporary Christian novel about love. This love is not a love that diminishes this is the love of God for His children and the love of His children for each other. It is a love based on 1 Corinthians 13. A love that puts others first. A love that takes care of the lost and the lonely.
I love the idea that “God is pursuing you.” No matter what we’ve done or where we’ve been, God wants a relationship with us.
The novel explores parental relationships. Earthly parents may fail us but God never will.
Trust is a major theme. We need to trust God with our lives. He only wants the best for us. “God’s not a genie… He has a plan. I just need to trust him.”
We must never judge others. We do not know what they have been through. “ ‘You here to preach?’ ‘No… I’m here to love.’ “
Worrying never helps. It is an enemy tactic to distract us from God. When worry creeps in we need to hand it to God. We need to swap worry for worship. “If I prayed as much as I worried, I’d have holes in every pair of jeans and a heart that relied on God.”
The novel is about reaching out in love to others. We need to be the eyes and ears, the hands and feet of Jesus.
Once again T. K Chapin has produced a fabulous tale that educates, informs and honours god.
On final thought:
“Even if it’s storm clouds from our perspective, the Son is still shining.”
I received this book for free. A favourable review was not required and all views expressed are my own.

I liked that this book includes compassion for the homeless, GOD in the center of life, Time for change & relationships. I liked the character of Maddison & her compassion for others & her willingness to give up Chase. I liked how God brought out changes in Chase's life. Reminds me that GOD continually transforms us into the new creation He is making us to be.

T.K. Chapin has a God given talent to create unique Christian Fiction! His stories are so often on target with things happening in the reader’s life or someone they know. The Space Between Us is a perfect example as I personally know someone that was adopted and has struggled with the same thoughts as the character Chance does. Chapin’s stories aren’t fairy tale scenarios. The characters often deal with heartache, loss, doubting their faith, etc. just as Chance does. Only through God’s love and patient guidance do the characters find peace and resolutions.

I enjoyed that the leading male character learned so much in this story, lessons that we all need to learn. He struggled with his past and consequently the leading female character was left in an untenable position. The title refers to the space between them but it seemed more like a chasm. I have read numerous stories about characters who were good friends but were not willing to move past that to romantic thoughts and potentially to marriage for fear of ruining a good friendship. That just makes no sense to me. Why wouldn’t you want your spouse to be a true friend, even your best friend? If getting married would ruin the friendship, something is dreadfully wrong in the relationship. Someone needs to grow up and get a grip on reality. The author did not say that: I did. Chance had so many excuses for not pursuing Maddison, including his overwhelming desire to find his birth mother. Will he ever get things figured out, or will he simply keep blundering along judging everyone else and lose the amazing woman who has been a great friend for years? You must read the book to find out what he learns as he struggles along. I received an advance copy of this book from the author. This is my honest review. All opinions are strictly my own.

I received an advanced reader copy of The Space Between Us from the author, T.K Chapin. Feelings expressed in this review are strictly my own.

The Space Between Us - such an intriguing name - along with the beautifully enchanting cover - was really captivating to me.
Being a great fan of T.K Chapin's books, I knew even before reading this book that I would enjoy it.

The Space Between Us deals with so many topics, packed into this one novel. In touches on maturity in dating and the fear of giving oneself over to another person. It touches on drug addiction and the struggle of staying clean. It shows the impacts not only the user, but the whole family. It touches on the homeless and discusses whether helping them is actually "helpful" or encouraging their situation.

The Space Between Us is another beautifully written story by Chapin.

Touching Story!

I am always pleased to be able to read a book by TK Chapin. His books are full of heart-touching drama.
This book is no different. From the strong desire of Chance wanting to find his birth mother, to Maddi wanting to have someone deeply love her for who she is, this book has it all.
As a reader I could truly identify with many of the feelings each out these characters dealt with. My heart hurt for Maddi and Chance as they battled through these issues. I also rejoiced when they did.
Another special part of TK 's books is they take place in or around Spokane, Washington, a place I'm familiar with. I could just picture everywhere these characters went. It helped to bring this story more to life for me.
I recommended you grab this or one of this author's books because they will touch your heart!

The space between us

Maddison and Chance are good friends but Maddison wants more. Will it ever happen?

Chance definitely had a lot work to do to get his life in order. He is trying to find his birth mother. A lot of interesting scenes in the book surrounding his search. I enjoyed the interaction within their families.

I did feel bad for Maddison at times, she had a lot to deal with within her family and all the feelings she had for Chance.

A lot of times I didn’t really like Chance too much. After he started working with the homeless his attitude did change a lot. The characters were very interesting and were definitely brought to left by the author.

I received a advanced copy of the book from the author. I was not required to write an positive review. This is my own opinion.

The story of Chance and Maddison is so much more than a love story between two people. It’s a story of the love between us and God, between parents and children, between friends, and between families that never formed. The relationship between Chance and Maddison is not your typical boy meets girl story. Chance is adopted and struggles with why his birth mother gave him up. Maddison has a distant mother and a brother struggling with substance abuse. These are not your usual backstories for a love story, let alone your typical “Christian” love story. You will not put this down, and you will be engaged in the lives of this lovely couple til the very last page. I received an advance review copy from the author and the opinions are completely my own.

Chance has been trying to find his birth mother for years. Watching how the search effected the way he lived and acted was sad. Maddison has been Chances best friend for years. When Chance decides that he has to change the way he is he starts to realize what he has been missing. The homeless people in this story are all very special people. I had the honor to review this book for the author for a honest review. This book is truly inspirational and you won’t be able to stop reading it. I would give this book a higher rating than a five star review if I could.

I love T.K. Chapin's stories. He deals with issues that are relevant, realistic and relatable. The Space Between Us deals with the heartache of a broken relationship, resentment, doubting faith, transformation and healing. It deals with the struggles of being adopted, working with the homeless and changing relationships. All of T.K. Chapin's books share Biblical truths and they leave you feeling inspired. I strongly recommend you read any and all of his books!!

This is such a well written book about being so focused on what you think is right instead of letting the Lord lead and His leadership in one's life. The tension is so thick it could be cut with a knife. The characters so well written they feel like friends. Friends you sometimes want to shake. However, this is truly one you will not want to put down until the very last page. I received an advance copy from the author. Opinions are my own.

A sweet read

For those of us who are Christians this book reminds us of how we speak one another about the Lord and His work in our lives. It is as natural as breathing. A wonderful story of a young man struggling with abandonment issues. I would have given 5 stars except it was almost too predictable.

The Space Between Us

Chance has some growing up to do. Hurts and anger left him resentful and incapable of real love. Only with a deeper awareness of the father who loves him and his Heavenly Father who loves him even more, do the walls in his life come down and reveal a loving selfless man of God.

Excellent

Every book I have read by author T.K. Chaplin has been worth reading. His books take life challenging situations and shows how they impact lives. However, when we turn our problems over to God, miracles happen. This is not to say that everything turns up roses but when we truly turn things over, He makes all things possible.

He’s had a good life, adopted after being abandoned but he’s still so angry. She’s loved him for years but he won’t commit so she ends it. Her leaving causes him to ask God for guidance and his prayer is answered

Another fantastic book! I love that this book touches on the homeless and brings to light that struggle. It is appreciated to show the struggle to help but the fear of helping too much. A lot of the thoughts and feelings expressed can be found in every church.

This is a well written book.

Another great read by TK Chapin. This story centers around relationships - a family relationship that never formed, a romantic relationship that couldn't withstand previous heartache, and the new relationships that can come about when God is at the center. The author deals with fictional characters that bring real life issues to the forefront and how relevant it is to allow God to work in us and through us. This was very hard to put down, even at the end.
