Savannah is used to escaping difficult circumstances, so she’s quite prepared to fight to escape the aliens who abducted her for a warrior breeding program. But when she’s rescued, it feels more like she’s jumped out of the frying pan into a sizzling firestorm of desire. Because this time it’s her own heart, and its traitorous longing for three traumatized Danans, she’s up against.

Many years ago, an enemy raid destroyed most of their pod and left one brother physically and emotionally damaged, seemingly beyond repair. Now the surviving brothers live in isolation, defending those on the borderlands. They have no desire for a podmate. But when fate brings Savannah to them, they have no choice but to claim the feisty human, whether she, or they, like the idea or not.

This stand-alone romantic adventure continues the story of the warrior Danans and the human women destined to be their podmates.

I will rate this book in 2 parts.

First half… I didn’t like the heroine. Bitchy, stubborn, badass, almost mean to to the point it was extremely annoying. I skipped few chapters.

Second half… I liked it. Once the heroine fell in love, she was ok. However I could never fall for her.

Males characters were lovable. One more than the others. Plot is original. I enjoy the colourful skin guys.

Warning. The heroine is raped. It may trigger. However, no details, no description of it.

Overall ok but I preferred book 1 although the heroine on book 1 was over the top about the heroine overweight insecurities. It seems the author goes to extremes with the heroines in her stories.

Good read

Read on KU. Aliens, fated mates and RH all inside this book. It has a good storyline building on the world created in the last book that has different characters. This story has a good mix of romance and action. Overall a pretty good read.

It's over the top. Too quick of 180° to be believable. And too over the top events. To be more clear- how fast they happen or how quick they are resolved.

Pleasant to read though.

Savannah is another young woman abducted from earth. From the time she woke up in paradise and found the snake in a sticklike alien who pursues her relentlessly! Because of Bronwyn and Thaid’s pod escaping the Lyations everyone in the Confederacy are looking for the breeding platforms and Savannah is saved by a merchant ship which was nearby. They take her, and others who were held, to Danan where they were to recover and, maybe, find themselves mated to a Pod. Savannah wants nothing to do with this plan; she only wants to go home to her mother and brother who she feels responsible for! Her planned escape route was to use the enemies of the Danan but realises her error when she and her friends are attacked! Being a trained fighter she meets the enemy head on which frustrates the man she is fighting next to. He is very badly scarred but she only notices his strength and fighting ability. And, when she meets his two brothers, she doesn’t understand her feelings and still insists on trying to escape.
This is the second book in this trilogy and has a very different heroine from Captive. Savannah gives no ground and will live and fight with her men! Very good!

I liked Savannah; she was a tough and skilled combatant. However, the premise is ridiculous. The Danans are supposedly a highly technologically advanced species and most deadly in the galaxy yet a bunch of big bats flying are a serious threat? They have the technology to be invisible to the eye or change appearance, molecularly transport, etc. but they can't put a force field around a home to keep the bats out or setup a satellite or ground surveillance network that would alert them of incoming enemies? And they can't just give their women actual weapons to defend themselves if needed even if the warriors are stuck on using manly claws?

Basically, this is a fun story to read if you suspend credulity and can stomach a society that is fine with women being forced to remain with a rapist if she were pregnant by him. There was just too much absence of outrage by anyone on Savannahs behalf. It shouldn't have mattered who got her preganat, only that she didn't want to be with the SOB.

Female lead character is not Likeable

The female lead character is rude and abrasive and I wasn't able to finish the book. I like strong women but not bitches that complain about how hard their lives were because they are so pretty and men just wanted to have sex with them in high school and college. the writing was done well, the book did flow I just didn't like Sav the FMC. I was hoping to get over my dislike for her but at some point I was just so annoyed I decided not to finish and just move on to another book, I read for enjoyment not to get frustrated

Interesting MC, she is a drop-dead gorgeous and she knows it and hates it. Every single woman hated her for the way she looks like and men have tried to use her all of her life.
She ends up drugged and raped in the first chapter, we don't read about details, she hates what has happened but she seems to be spared to most of the trauma because she doesn't remember, later she gets kidnapped by her rapist and brought to another planet. She does everything possible to escape and we have HEA.

Life is hard

Damn this mfc put blondes to shame, not thinking through her actions and then been shocked with the fallout. Choose to keep reading as I wanted to get to know the guys more, wish there was multiple points of views. Awesome story with added adventure even been dark at the beginning. Can't wait to read more. I was hoping a new story in the same universe would have a more or a story to it but things started to lag halfway through for me. In this book again, there’s a lot of telling feelings instead of showing feelings. Additionally, insecurities are repeated and doubly pointed out in the entire book. I’m not going to read anymore from this universe at this time.

Pretty good

While the writing was amazing and it was interesting to see more of the different life forms and cultures in this universe I found the way the main character opened up about her past so quickly to be completely unrealistic.

Just as good as the first!

I had been worried that the rest of the series wasn't going to be as good as the first book. Thank goodness that was not the case. This one was just as good as the first!

Savannah and her 3 mates

Savannah is kidnapped from earth. An alien tries to force her to breed with him. She fights him as he's not very strong. She is rescued and meets the Danans. She meets Jackal and is attracted to him, but not sure about being mated to humans his brothers.

1st was better

The heroine in this book was an annoying brat for half the book. I almost DNF'd at 24%. She was that obnoxious. It was an ok story after she pulled her head out of her ax.

Great

Other than needing some minor editing, this is another great story from the Danan series of RH stories. Looking forward to reading more.

Goodish

Easy read. I found myself flipping through the constant rehash of how bad her life was... it was a little repetitive. But I still enjoy this world.

mfc

Great author and series. But I hated Savanna so much. She never stops making everyone miserable. Was hoping the pod could get another chance without her bitching.
